when you’re having a nice time with jonathan and then he says, “Nancy Wheeler, she’s not just another suburban girl who thinks she’s rebelling by doing exactly what every other suburban girl does… until that phase passes and they marry some boring one-time jock who now works sales, and they live out a perfectly boring little life at the end of a cul-de-sac. Exactly like their parents, who they thought were so depressing, but now, hey, they get it.“
yes, believe it or not i’m alive. I survived these three horrible weeks of tests and i’m so happy they’re over. The reason why I didn’t post, is that I wasnt actually making notes of things due to my teachers giving us tests and study guides. Anyways, i’m back on track and ready to share some more inspo with you guys! ❤️️
god WHY wasnt pokemon go a streetpass-style trainer battle thing…..u pass someone who also has the application and a notification might pop up that says “X WANTS TO BATTLE! WILL YOU ACCEPT?” and you can select yes and keep walking while playing, BUT if ur like on a train or at a con or at a party or something anywhere Fun & Public you can FIND each other and then BATTLE-IT-OUT…could u imagine you’re at like six flags and there’s a circle of people cheering on two people playing pokemon on their phones? Fuck
& like, it can be restricted so you only fight people in ur age group/skill level so it’s ALWAYS fun, and u could just show ur guys to each other !!! it would be so fun. Wtf
diana, in luna nova, was so highly respected and looked up to that to her, everyone was the same. until…akko.
diana would always try to be on top of things, adapting to every possible situation in order to keep her guard up. yet akko still throws her off guard, and now diana admits its because of akko’s ability to surprise her no matter how hard she tries to adapt to akko’s behaviour.
akko made diana rethink the whole “magic can only be attained through hard work and not purely passion” thing, and invoked a foreign emotion in diana during the samhain festival, then made diana visibly lose her composure at simple insults, and now she made diana prioritise akko herself over the ritual she’d been so set on performing.
diana really became drawn to akko because of that, gaining respect and care for her especially after learning she’d been chosen by the shiny rod. now, diana can see why she wasnt chosen - there are things akko can do that she may never be able to.
Many fans, including myself, have pointed out that Sansa should have discussed this Umber/Karstark matter with Jon in private before this scene. But here’s a question: what detail in the scene makes us think she didn’t already?
Check out Jon’s reaction to Sansa speaking up in the Great Hall scene (above). Does he react like this is the first time he’s heard Sansa’s position on this? Or does he react like he knows what she’s launching into before she even says anything unsupportive?
Rewatching this scene, I found myself questioning my original assumption about the scene. After writing about it briefly in reply to winterfellchild’s fantastic Umber/Karstark meta, I got curious and took a closer look. In particular, I wondered what details of the scene I had missed originally, which contributed to changing my original assumption.
Below, I’ve broken down the scene line-by-line, matching each beat with the actor’s delivery and facial reactions (numbered with the corresponding screencap above bc tumblr is being stubborn and won’t let me insert them into a text post) to question the scene’s intentions and what they might suggest about the season ahead. Of course, standard disclaimers apply, this is just one interpretation and your mileage may vary.
