She loves Me Not

Word count: 1.7k

A/N: if you read this and you like the fic down below, send me your favorite line from it ;) I didn’t think this was gonna be more than a one parter, but oh well  ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Beta: @hazeleyedcat (angel? angel.)

“What if they don’t like me?” You break the silence of movie night with the question you’ve asked about a million times. “What if- What if they think I just wanna be with you for the fame or the money or the exposure or-or I don’t know! What are people in a relationship for if they don’t love each other?”

“Well, we wouldn’t know. Because we love each other, remember?” Shawn asked calmly, a smirk on his face.

He found the whole situation hilarious because his family was not only gonna like you, they were gonna love you.

“Oh, right, right. We love each other. Sorry, forgot for a second there.” You rolled your eyes at him in annoyance.

“y/n, just calm down. They are going to love you.” He smiled, bringing you closer to him and kissing the top of your head.

“You think so?” You whispered into his chest.

“Baby, I know so.”

“That was so fucking cheesy.” You giggled softly.

“But you like cheese!” He retaliated.

“I never said I didn’t babe.”

Loose Tooth (Dad!Shawn)

Requested: Okay I need more dad Shawn in my life after seeing those pictures/boomerang of him and skyla !!!! Ps u are so talented and I love u

A/n: Thank you, you’re sweet! I was just feeling some dad Shawn so I wrote this really quick. I hadn’t been planning this one at all, but I hope you enjoy.

When Shawn is away for work, you have to hear your daughter ask when her dad is coming home every single night you put her to sleep and every morning when she wakes up. It breaks your heart every single time. It’s hard to see her missing him so much, almost as much as you miss him. Shawn is an amazing dad, and you wouldn’t want to share the responsibility of parenting with anyone else, but his career makes it very difficult for the three of you sometimes. He tries to be home as much as possible, but he loves touring and performing, and you couldn’t imagine him not doing it.

She’s five now, so she knows when he’s home, and she misses him when he’s gone. This morning, on your way to drop her off at school before heading to work, you almost started crying right there in the car because you missed Shawn so much and you hated that she was missing him too. You hated that he was missing out on weeks at a time of watching her grow. Her tooth is loose, and getting looser everyday, but she’s desperately trying to keep it from falling out. Normally kids are so excited for their teeth to fall out, and she is too, but she wants to wait until Shawn is back home before she lets it come out. That’s what she was telling you on the way to school. That’s what made you almost start crying.

Shawn isn’t supposed to be home for another week, but you don’t have the heart to tell her now that based on how loose it already is, he probably won’t be back before it falls out. It is these small moments and so many more that make it so difficult to have Shawn gone so often.

Shortly after lunch, you receive a text from Shawn. When you open it, you see that it is a picture of your daughter. At first, you think it is strange because you’re normally the one who texts Shawn pictures of her when he’s away so why would he be texting you an old picture of her randomly. The picture doesn’t have a caption, so you just stare at it for a few moments. By the background, you can tell she’s standing outside of her school, and she looks so happy. You don’t remember taking that picture. Just as you realize she’s wearing the same thing she was wearing when you dropped her off at school this morning, another picture comes in. It is a selfie of Shawn in his car and you can see your daughter in her car seat in the back.

It can’t be. He’s supposed to be in New York right now. Is he home?

She just finished school, so he could have easily picked her up. Normally she goes to the after school care because you don’t get off of work until 5pm. But when Shawn is home, he always picks her up straight after school when he can.  You immediately text Shawn, Are you playing a prank on me?

I’ll see you at home 😉 Is the only response he offers and you want to call him, you want to leave work right now to see him, but you know you can’t.

The next picture you receive from Shawn is your daughter with a big ice cream cone and an even bigger smile on her face. The next three hours until five pm can’t pass fast enough.

You push the speed limit all the way home. And when you enter your home, you can hear a John Mayer song playing over the speakers Shawn insisted on having specially installed. Upon entering the kitchen, you’re hit by the amazing smell of food, and you realize how much you missed Shawn’s cooking. Your daughter is sitting on the kitchen counter, something you never let her do, but Shawn always does.

“Mommy!” She shouts when she sees you.

“Hi babe,” You tell her, but you can’t help but head over to your husband first. He immediately wraps you up in his arms and kisses you. “You weren’t supposed to be home until next week.” You say when you finally pull away.

“I missed my family.” He says simply.

“We missed you too.” You tell him. “Did you have a good afternoon with Daddy?” You ask turning to your daughter.

“Yes!” She shouts, happiness practically oozing out of her, and your heart is so happy too. Having Shawn home always feels like everything is just how it should be.

“Tell mommy what happened this afternoon.” Shawn prompts her.

She opens her mouth wide in response, and then tries to speak with it still open. “I ost ay toot.” She says, keeping her mouth open to show you.

“You did!?” You say, matching her excitement.

“I told you it was waiting for daddy to come home.” She says innocently, returning to speaking normally.

“I guess it was, huh.” You say with a smile.

“The tooth fairy is coming tonight!” Shawn says excitedly and you shoot him a look. He always insists on leaving a lot of money for her from the tooth fairy and then she goes to school and her friends tell her how much they get from the tooth fairy and they’re all asking why the tooth fairy doesn’t give the same amount to everyone. This has already happened multiple times. While you still struggle to come up with a response, Shawn just says, “I guess the tooth fairy likes you better.” You don’t know what you’re going to do with him.

Shawn shrugs off the look you gave him and just leans in to kiss you on the cheek, then he kisses your daughter on the cheek as well before saying, “Dinner’s ready, lets eat.”

Your Friend, A Cry Baby

A/N: based on cry baby by demi lovato & another idea I had ; idk, this isn’t requested, i just got kinda bored since i can’t sleep & did this so like it, or don’t (though it’d mean a ton if you’d like it)
hmu in my asks & gimme feedback, it’s greatly appreciated! let me know if i should do the part two that i’m planning x

Friends. That’s what they are. That’s what they pretend to be anyways, but did friends really do this? Did they really see the parts you were even afraid to see yourself sometimes? Did their lips always touch skin that regular eyes won’t behold at first glance? That’s the type of friends they are.

Hands. Teeth. Grinding hips and various blooming blotches of purples and pinks scattered from public eye. That’s what the last four and a half months consisted of. Neither of them could deny the thrill lurking in secrecy gave them, the adrenaline rushed in their blood every time they caught eyes. Last night was no different.

Y/N awoke the same way she did every time she found herself in Shawn’s habitation. An heavenly glow of light cast across the room, a slight chill in the air, and the best part—her favorite part—him. Snores fall from between his lightly chapped lips, his hand still wound up around Y/N like vines on trees. Even without the formal title, she was all his.

She rolls, praying her movements don’t awaken the sleeping god beside her. One of her eyes slides open, Shawn unmoved and her heart peacefully restored. “S’beautiful.” The words fall off her tongue like a well-kept secret. She doesn’t know that he hears, that he’s been awake since the moment she began to move and he’s going to bask in that for a couple more moments. Her fingers trace the delicate crevices of his face. That’s when he chooses to press his cheek against her cascading fingers and press a kiss to her palm. “M’thinking that’s you.”

Not-So Secret Santa

synopsis: It’s painfully obvious that Shawn has the biggest crush on you. Well, obvious to everyone except you. Brian helps make things move a little faster between the two of you.

“Okay so what’s the deal are we doing secret santa or not?” “I don’t get why we can’t just get gifts for everyone?” “I don’t get why you can’t just shut the hell up.” The sound of your friends arguing filled Shawn’s living room and you’re almost to the point of telling both of them to shut the hell up, but you also find it somewhat amusing. “What’d I miss?” Shawn comes back from the kitchen with two mugs full of his favorite tea for you and him. “Nothing much, just our dumb friends deciding if they want to do a secret santa or not,” you laugh as the bickering does not let up in the slightest. “Hey idiots,” Shawn says loudly, pulling them both out of the heated conversation. “I vote for secret santa,” his words draw an “in your face” out of Brian, aimed towards Matt who looks slightly betrayed by his best friend. All eyes turn towards you and you realize they’re waiting for your input. “Sorry Matt but secret santa sounds fun.”

You’re going to be a dad (Shawn Mendes)

I got inspired by Shawn singing at his friend’s wedding so I wrote an imagine where you tell drunk Mendes that you’re pregnant.

Requests are open!

„See that‘s what happens when I eat every second of the day with you“ I tell Shawn laughing while he‘s trying to zip my dress. But the reason why I‘m too big for this dress is not eating, I‘m pregnant and Shawn doesn‘t know that. No one knows that. „I still love you, even with that little tummy of yours“ Shawn says sweetly while pecking me on the lips. I hope You will still love me.

„They are so beautiful“ I whisper to Shawn while looking at the bride and groom. „I promise you. One day both of us will be standing there“ I squeeze his hand and smile. I hope.

I look at Shawn singing the song he wrote for his friends and smile. I love this boy more than anything.  „Hi honey, I haven‘t seen you eat or drink today“ Karen sits next to me. My gaze shifts from the wedding couple dancing their first dance to Shawn‘s mother. „Oh, I just don‘t feel like eating or drinking today“ Or maybe  just know that I probably will puke after eating. I nervously giggle, while silently praying that she will drop this subject. „Just don‘t starve yourself, you already look so thin“ ha see you after 8 months. I will look like a troll. Petite and fat. Hell even troll will look better than me. I start clapping when the first dance is over and now everyone is pulling their second halfs to the dance floor. I spot Shawn coming to me. „Princess, will you dance with me?“ I gently take Shawn‘s hand and let him lead me to dance floor. „You did amazing, love“ I smile while looking up at him. „I felt more nervous than I do at my concerts“ Shawn laughs.

Soon Shawn is teared away from me and I find my way to people i talked before. „Ladies?“ guy comes to us with champagne glasses, everyone takes except for me. „Sorry“ I sheepishly smile. „So Y/N, how long you and Shawn are together?“ someone I don‘t really remember asks „Almost two years“ I grin while finding in the distance Shawn already looking at me. He soon comes to me and wraps his hands around me from behind. „Exspecting babies or marriage soon?“ not exspecting this question I start coughing. „You okay, princess?“ Shawn asks concerned. „Yeah, yeah..“

„Look Shawn, he‘s so cute“ I laugh while pointing at the cute boy dancing. Shawn joins me laughing. But soon his face changes into frown. „Is everything alright?“ I ask gently touching his face. Shawn nods his head. „Is just that I‘ve been thinking. Especially after Janet asked us about marriage and babies“ I start to play nervously with my bracelets. It‘s something I always do in the moments like these. „I want to marry you, Y/N, have ki…“ „Come here Shawn¡“ Matt interrupts him. Shawn and Matt looks at me questioningly I nod my head and smile „Go“ Shawn still looks at me but quickly kisses me and goes to drink with his friends.

„Shawn, where‘s our room?“ I ask him slighly laughing. „Maybe here“ he points at the random door. „No love, it says Karen and Manny, that‘s not ours. You told me that you know where our room is“ I whine at the sight of drunk Shawn. „Why can‘t we go to a random room?“ he looks at me like I‘m stupid. „Because it‘s 4 in the morning and everyone is sleeping except for you and a few of your friends“ I roll my eyes smiling. „Oh my god Shawn“ I squeal when I hear Shawn bumping his head into wall. He starts to laugh really loud. „Shhh, baby, shh, everyone is sleeping“ I try to calm him while laughing myself. I quickly start to kiss him so he would shut up „Maybe I shoud yell more“ he winks at me.

After forever we finally found our room. Shawn insisted that our room was on the biggest house there, even tho I told him that it was the place where bride and groom will be sleeping but because drunk Shawn is stubborn we took like 30minutes to actually find our room. „Shawn please take off your clothes“ I whine looking at the boy almost sleeping with his suit on. He groans and starts taking it off. I do the same thing with my dress. As I cuddle up to him he whispers „You looked beautiful today, just like always“ his lips leaving wet kisses on my neck. I smile and kiss him on the lips. When his breathing calms and I‘m sure that he‘s asleep I whisper while putting his arms on my tummy „You‘re going to be a dad, Shawn“

I shiver when my feet touches cold ground. Trying not to wake up Shawn I get up from bed and walk to my bags where my other clothes are. I quickly put my clothes on and with a makeup bag I walk to toilet where I wait for my morning sickness. After  I puke, I do my make up and go straight to the lobby where most people are already talking and eating.

As I drink my tea I spot Shawn coming. Soon he‘s stopped by his dad. I send Shawn smile and turn around to keep talking with people around me.
„Hi princess“ Shawn greets me while kissing my lips. When he sits next to me I lean into him and wrap my hands around him. „You look green, love“ I laugh at him. He slighly groans „Why didn‘t you tell me to stop drinking?“ he asks looking at him. „Cmon, we‘re going to take walk around“ I say standing up and pulling him with me.

„Y/N?“ Shawn asks with a serious tone. I look up to him. „I don‘t really remember what happenned yesterday, at least not clearly but I do remember what you said before I fell asleep“ I froze. Did he hear me. „Am I really going to be a dad?“ Shawn asks with hope in his eyes. I put his hands on my tummy and nod my head. Soon I see tears rolling down his cheeks. I gently whipe them away with my thumb „We‘re going to be parents, Shawn“ I say grinning. „I love you“ „I love you too“

Meet the Family

A/N: Here’s another fluff piece! Hope you enjoy. Also a huge thank you to my lovelies who read over this for me. Love you guys so much. Feedback is appreciated

I hear a key fiddle in the lock of the apartment door. Glancing up from my phone, I see Shawn shivering in his black jeans and favorite henley. His pink nose scrunched and his hands tucked into his pockets. The snow covering his chocolate curls. He looks adorable. It take everything in me not to giggle at his pitiful state.

“It’s freezing out there,” he says chattering through his teeth as he shakes the snow out of his hair. He kicks off his shoes and sets them by the door before walking over to me sitting on the couch in my pajamas and a plush blanket draped over me. He sits down and gets under the blanket, snuggling into my side. His eyes meet mine as he looks at me with a smug look on his face. Without warning, cold fingers slowly creep up my shirt and onto my bare stomach, his freezing touch causing me to let out an embarrassingly loud shriek.

“Shawn, get your cold ass hands off me right now!” I shout at him, an assertiveness added to my voice. He removes his hands and goes into a laughing fit. I try not to crack a small smile. I can still feel the cold radiating off him, so I grip his hands in my own and blow warm air on them attempting to heat them up. He smiles and pulls me into his lap and cuddles me close, happily accepting my warmth.

After a while he seems to have warmed up, but I am much too comfortable to even attempt to move. Glance around the living room, I suddenly remember that there was something I needed to ask Shawn and decided now was as good of a time as ever.

“Babe?” I ask and he hums quietly into my neck half asleep in response.

“My dad wants us to come over and have dinner with him and the family tomorrow afternoon, and I was wondering if you would maybe be up to it? It is time that you meet everyone. If that’s okay with you of course.” I have been waiting to introduce Shawn to my family until I was absolutely sure about him. Family is extremely important to me, and Shawn gets that which I am so thankful for. He is the same way with his family which is why I was so humbled when he took me to meet them a few weeks ago. They were so welcoming, and now I feel like it’s time to finally return the gesture. Also, my dad is my best friend, so I want nothing more than him to approve of Shawn. His approval means everything to me. It’s been about four months since he and I have started dating, so I think it’s finally time.

His face lights up at my question, “of course I will darling. I’d love to finally meet your family! I want to know everything about your family and see where you grew up. I just think that would be so cool,” He pulls me into a tight embrace and pressing a soft kiss on my nose tip.

I laugh and lean my forehead against his placing a quick kiss on his dry lips, “you’re going to regret saying that,” I smirk and he starts to tickle my sides. I put my hand on his chest and try to push him away but it doesn’t work. He pushes me down onto the couch, his body hovering over mine. He looks at me with the sweetest eyes. God I want this boy forever.

I cling to Shawn’s arm as I try not to slip on the snow as we walk to the front door of my dad’s house. I can already hear the giggles and shrieks of my younger cousins playing in the living room. I am beginning to get nervous that my family may scare Shawn off. His family was so calm and quiet when I met them, and my family is the complete opposite. I’m probably just overthinking per usual. We are almost to the door when I lose to the sidewalk and slip on a piece of ice. Shawn tries to catch me and keep me from slipping but instead I accidentally grab his arm out of instinct, bringing him down with me. He lands on top of me, pushing me further into the cold ground. He giggles as he apologizes for almost squishing me to death with his weight. His arms around my waist from where he attempted—but failed—to keep me from falling.  His eyes meet mine as his fingers brush my hair out of my face. “You look so beautiful right now, ya know that?” Shawn whispers absentmindedly as he stares intently at me. They way his eyes scan over my face in such a gentle way causes me to blush. The cold ice is long forgotten about as we start to focus on the body heat between us. I grab his chin and pull his cold lips down to meet mine. The kiss was tender, passionate. I loved when he kissed me like this. Like it was the last kiss he would ever receive.

Our intimate moment is quickly ruined as I see my aunt open the front door, “will you kids stop playing around in the snow? You’ll catch a cold out there if you don’t get up. Come on you two love birds. Inside!” She shakes her head and closes the door to keep the artic air from getting into the house. Shawn then pulls himself out of whatever trans he had gotten himself into and his eyebrows furrow. He swiftly stands to his feet, grabbing my hands and helping me up. When I’m standing, he carefully brushes the snow off of my back and shoulders. Leaning down and kissing the top of my head and whispering into my hair. “I’m sorry you fell love. Are you okay?”

I nod my head as I giggle seeing he has some snow in his hair. I knock it out as he smiles down and me. He grabs my hand as we continue to make our way to the front door.

Once we finally got inside, I made Shawn a cup of tea and sit with him at the table joining the rest of my family. As we begin eating, my dad starts asking Shawn questions about his tour. Where he travels and if he enjoyed seeing all the different cities. This causes my cousins to chime in giving him a million questions to answer, but he doesn’t seem to mind it much. He actually seems to be enjoying himself which is a big relief to me. I want my family to love him, but I want him to also feel comfortable around them.

After what seems like forever, family dinner is over, and I offer to help my dad and aunt with the dishes. Shawn goes into the living room with my younger cousins while he waits for me.

“So what do you guys think of Shawn?” I stand nervously washing off plates as I wait for their answer.

They exchange glances before looking over to me, “he is actually very nice guy. I am impressed, and I definitely approve. He seems to be a very genuine young man with a good head on his shoulders,” my dad says flashing me a smile.

“Yes yes and oh girl that boy has the body of an angel. Where was he when I was growing up? No guys my age were near that blessed when I was a teenager,” my aunt says teasingly. I throw my head back and laugh. Both at her comment and as a breath of relief. I am so happy to see how much they enjoyed Shawn. It meant a lot to me that tonight went so well.

Once I’m done with the dishes, I decide to go find Shawn and rescue him from my younger cousins. They have to be driving him mad by now. I wander down the hall, noticing nobody is in the living room. I continue walking, eventually making it to one of my dad’s spare bedrooms where my aunt and her children were staying for the week. I can hear talking and as I grow closer, I realize it is Shawn’s voice. When I reach the doorway, I am greeted with one of the most adorable sights I have even seen. Shawn sitting on a small blue stool with a book in his lap. Three of my cousins sitting cross legged on the floor in front of him, listening with anticipation. I can’t blame them though as I myself was equally intrigued by this. My boyfriend, the boy who hates reading, is changing his voice and using accents for different characters in the book. The way he accentuated his voice for certain parts causes me to let out a soft chuckle. My heart just swells. As his story comes to an end, my cousins start to whine.

“One more, Shawn come on!” they all say in unison.

He laughs as he shakes his head, “guys you said that three stories ago.”

Luckily as if on cue, my aunt shouts down the hall to announce that it is time for the kids to take baths which gives Shawn an escape from reading. As they all file out the door, my eyes meet his as we exchange smiles. He walks over to me and caresses my cheek with his long fingers. “You’re really good with them love, they really seem to like you.”

“You really think so? He smiles to himself, “I was just trying to keep them out of your way so y’all could get the dishes done.” I felt butterflies in my stomach. Shawn is so thoughtful when it comes to others. I love that about him. I smile and kiss his cheek sending him a ‘thank you’ glance.

"I’m so glad you came today, Shawn. It really does mean a lot to me. I was afraid my family may be too much and scare you away.” I confess to him while looking down playing with my fingers. Shawn puts his finger underneath my chin and tilts my face up so that our eyes meet. He furrows his eyebrows in confusion.

"Baby, why would you say that? You have nothing to worry about. They weren’t too much for me. I honestly loved getting to talk with them today. Your family is great.”

I stand on my tiptoes, and he pulls me into him as I close the tiny gap between our lips while his hands tighten around my waist. I then stick my tongue out causing him to scrunch his nose and pull away laughing. “Gross way to ruin a perfectly good moment,” he says wiping his lips. All I can do is blush as I take his hand in mine walking towards the door. We walk down the hall to see my family all piled up in front of the couch searching for a movie. My dad tells us to come join, so we make our way to the couch.

“Does anyone have any movie suggestions?” my dad asks.

“Do you happen to have any Harry Potter lying around here?” Shawn answers curiously.

“Son, I think you just became my new favorite,” he says flashing Shawn a smile.

We all laugh as dad gets up to find the movie. I look around at everyone and see how happy they are and how well they have taken to Shawn. This is perfect. There is no other place I’d rather be.

Nothing Else But Great Sex (Shawn Mendes Smut)

(Y/N) P.O.V

“I don’t get him and why everyone else thinks he’s something special,” my best friends said to me as we sat in the cafeteria having lunch break. “Yeah, he’s cute and hot and talented, but besides that, he’s a normal high school kid” she continued. “Yeah, if you take the famousness away from him too” I added. “Yeah, exactly, he’s just like everyone else at this crappy high school,” she said as he walked towards us. “Hey girls,” he said as he took a seat next to me. “So, will I see you later gorgeous?” he asked in my direction. “Only in your dreams Mendes,” I said to him. “Then I will be looking forward to tonight,” he said and smirked at me. “Just go, Mendes. Your popularity is of no use here. Take you toothpaste smile and that cockiness somewhere else. Bye” (Y/BFF/N) said. “Ouch, that hurt pretty badly, right on the feelings,” Shawn said in a sarcastic tone. “Just go Mendes, no one wants you here,” I said. “Well, I will not be a place where I know I’m not appreciated,” he said and went somewhere else. “See, I don’t get him. He just thinks that he can come over here and just talk like that to us. Who does he think he is?” (Y/BFF/N) said. “Shawn Mendes I think so,” I said. “Well, his little act doesn’t fool me” (Y/BFF/N) said. “Me neither,” I said and for the rest of the lunch break, we just ate our food.

Six Years

Request: Can you do something like Truth or Dare? (Y/N) and Shawn both like each other and everybody knows, so they dare them to kiss.

A/N: Writing this took me around two days, and I changed some things, but I hope you guys enjoy it!

The sun was shining, and you could hear people laughing as they enjoyed the first nice day since the long brittle winter. You would give anything to be out there too, eating ice cream and being outside. But of course, you had a paper to finish.

A year ago, you thought high school was enough, but college was a whole different level. All of your weekends were filled with late nights working on essays and, if you weren’t doing that, there were still exams to study for. It was frustrating.

You had just finished when your phone’s ringer interrupted the silence, making you jump a little. The caller ID brightly said your best friend’s name, Marina. “Hey,” you greeted.

“Are you doing anything tonight?” she asked immediately. In the background, you heard casual music and what sounded like people shopping. She was probably at the mall. The girl couldn’t go a week without buying something new.

You were surprised at the sudden question. There was a hint of desperation in her voice, worrying you. “I was planning to edit my essay.” You walked into the kitchen of your apartment to grab a glass of water. The last few hours of your time were spent sitting at your desk. That damn essay was all you could think about, which made you forget to even eat or drink anything.

“Well, not anymore,” Marina simply announced. Upon hearing those words, you choked a little on your water. “There’s a bonfire at Beachfront Park tonight, and everyone is going.”

You circled your finger around the rim of the glass. “What do you mean by everyone?” She had a habit of leaving out details.

“You know…the inner circle. Brian and all of them.”

“Marina, you know I can’t. I have a lot to get done,” you yawned. Sleep didn’t come that easily to you nowadays either.

“You’ve been stuck in your apartment drowning in assignments. And when you’re not there, you’re at school. Relax a little, just for one night.” You couldn’t deny her.

“You’re not giving me a choice, are you?”

You already knew what she was going to say. “Nope. Get ready, I’ll pick you up at seven.” Before you could reply, she had already hung up. One night of freedom wouldn’t hurt, right?

After smoothing out your outfit in the mirror, you looked outside your window to see Marina’s car parked outside. You checked yourself out in the mirror one last time, and walked out the front door.

The refreshing air had hit you like a wave. It seemed like all the colors outside seemed brighter, and your senses had dialed up. God, college was taking over your life.

“Wow, you’re actually alive,” Marina dramatically gasped when you hopped into the passenger’s seat. You rolled your eyes and lightly punched her arm. “You can’t blame me. I haven’t heard from you in five days until now, (Y/N).”

Your heart sunk to your stomach. Guilt was starting to creep up on you. It never clicked to you how distant you’ve been to everyone you knew. The only thing that’s been on your mind was school. How could you disappear from your best friend?

“I’m sorry,” you muttered, fumbling with the seat belt.

Marina sighed and turned the music down. “No, it’s okay. I know how important this is to you.”

“Marina, I literally cut you off for almost a week.” Turning your body towards her, you leaned your head on the window.

She took a quick glance at you. “(Y/N), don’t beat yourself over it. We’re hanging out again. That’s all that should matter,” she countered back.

You gave her a small smile. “You’re probably right.”

“Aren’t I always?” Marina grinned and flipped her hair over her shoulder. Playfully rolling your eyes, you leaned forward to turn the music back up.

The car had came to a halt, and ahead of you, you saw a huge fire already blazing. All around it was your whole group of friends. A smile appeared on your face, but then you saw Shawn.

He was wearing a dress shirt with the first few buttons popped open. It practically showed off half of his chest. You swallowed the lump in your throat before looking at Marina, but she already had her gaze on you. She smirked as your eyes widened.

“You didn’t tell me Shawn was coming!” you freaked out. Her eyes told you she was enjoying your reaction.

“I told you everyone in the inner circle,” she sang out. “And Shawn is in it, of course.”

“I thought he was on tour!”

“He has some time off, so he flew back home to visit.” You ran your fingers through your hair, looking at her like she was crazy. “(Y/N), come on. Everyone already knows you like each other. We’ve all been waiting for the two of you to get on with it already.”

Heat rushed to your cheeks, making you hide your face in your hands. “He doesn’t like me.” Your words were muffled, but Marina already knew what you were going to say.

“Have you seen the way he looks at you?” You shook your head, climbing out of the car. “I’m being serious. Ian and Brian can tell too.”

You and Marina had grown up with Shawn, Ian, and everyone else. Throughout middle and high school, all of you guys were best friends. But when eleventh grade came along, you found yourself falling for Shawn, but you pushed it aside. Three years later, nothing changed. There were plenty of girls all around the world who flung themselves out at him. Why would he be interested in you?

You were too caught up in your thoughts to even realize that Brian was hugging you. “There she is!” he yelled out, squeezing you tighter.

“Good to see you too,” you laughed.

After reuniting with everyone, there was only one person left, who you missed the most. Shawn was a few feet away, and you didn’t care about how hard your heart was thumping or how numb your legs felt. You ran towards him, the sand making you stumble a bit, and almost tackled him. Your arms were tightly around his waist, but his were hugging you tighter.

“Hey,” you mumbled into his chest. “Long time no see.”

His body moved up and down as he lightly laughed. “God, I missed you.”

“I missed you too.” A warm fuzzy feeling came over your body, making you slightly light headed. Neither one of you guys knew how long you stood there.

“C’mon lovebirds, we want to play a game!” Matt yelled. Both you and Shawn were flustered as ever when you sat down on the various blankets around the fire.

“We should play Truth or Dare!” Marina suggested, causing everyone to groan.

“Marina, we’re not in middle school anymore,” Ian pointed out, reaching towards the cooler to grab a beer. “And what’s the point, we’ve all grown up together. We already know everything,” he chuckled. He had a point.

“Then, how about Dare or Dare?”

You leaned back on your hands.“This is really sad. Normal college kids would be playing…I don’t know. Beer pong or something,” you laughed, but you all ended up playing anyways.

Five dares later, which included Matt to go skinny dipping in the ocean, someone had picked on you as the victim.

“(Y/N), Dare or Dare?” Ian smirked.

Already not liking the way this was going, you replied. “Okay, you and Shawn go somewhere by yourselves, and come back after thirty minutes.” At this point, everything had gone silent. The only thing that was making noise was the crackling of the fire and the waves crashing.

“Ian,” you warned.

“We don’t have all night,” he shooed you guys away. In the background, you could hear them cheering. “Thank me at your wedding!” Ian hollered back as you jokingly flipped him off.

“I can’t believe them,” Shawn chuckled.

“Me neither.”

Beers in hand, the two of you walked along the shore of the beach. Shawn told you stories from tour, and he begged you to tell him about college. You were a little taken back at first. College was nowhere near as interesting as playing shows every night and travelling the world, but you went along with it.

“How do you do it?” he asked. You looked up at him, meeting his gaze.

“What do you mean?”

Shawn shrugged, and took another swing of his beer. “College. It sounds like hell, but you manage to keep up with everything.”

You laughed, causing him to tilt his head in confusion, which you always thought was adorable. “Trust me, it is hell. I’ve been pretty MIA for a while because of how much work I have to do,” you groaned.

“Do you think it’ll be worth it. You know…after you graduate?”

You looked out onto the water. “Well, I hope so. If I don’t, then I don’t know how I’m gonna get on with my life. Graphic designing requires a Bachelor’s degree, and I don’t seem to enjoy any other pathway.”

You always hated talking about the future, adulthood to be specific. It terrified you, but for some reason talking about it with Shawn made you feel something entirely different.

“Graphic designing seems badass. It’s practically meant for you,” he laughed. “You’re always drawing something.”

Grinning, you turned your head to sneak a quick glance at him, but he was already looking at you. There was something else in his eyes. It was bugging him.

The corners of your mouth lowered a little bit, and a face of concern replaced it. “Shawn, what’s wrong?” He shrugged his shoulders, completely forgetting about his beer.

“I just feel like I’m missing out on so much. College, friends, you…”

Your heart jumped a little. “Me?”

Shawn gently laced his fingers into yours, making the both of you smile. “Yeah, I’ve been wanting to do that for the past six years,” he murmured.

Out of nowhere, you felt a surge of confidence burst into you. “And I’ve been wanting to do this,” you whispered. Standing on your tippy toes, you pulled Shawn down by the neck and connected your lips to his. He automatically pulled you closer by wrapping his arms around your waist.

Sure, the both of you had kissed people before, but this was entirely different. Six years worth of hidden love was finally being left out, and it felt like pure bliss.

When you guys finally pulled away, Shawn leaned his forehead onto yours. The both of you were panting like crazy, but couldn’t get rid of the grins that were on your faces.

“We should’ve done that a long time ago.”

Guys My Age Don’t Know How To Touch Me - Part III

Part I

Part II

He quickly checks his reflection in the rearview mirror, running a hand through his curls. Taking a deep breath, he tilts his head back a little, squinting his eyes.

He looked decent for someone who stayed awake all night, working on those lyrics and chords. Only the circles underneath his eyes would give him away.

breakfast ~ soulmate series ~

next part to the soulmate series!! sorry it’s like super super short guys but I tried not to drag it out too much & it’s also unedited bc who’s got the time for that?

I actually used some of @shawnsassymendes ideas that I read in her tags and thought it was super adorable so thank you!!

also feedback would make my day!! <3

You had to admit, this breakfast place was much nicer than the small low budget diner you and Ava usually go to, but as you read through the menu you noticed the prices were way higher and it was going to be hard to order something Ava would actually eat at a low price.

You managed to make some small talk with Shawn and his friend (who you have yet to learn the name of) as you were waiting for your waitress to return with your drinks and take your food orders, but as hard as you were trying to not make it awkward for yourself you couldn’t help but feel out of place talking to him. He’s this worldwide successful pop star while you were just a teen mom trying to provide for your child. But, he’s also your soulmate. Ava managed to run away from you while you were trying to ease the sudden pain in your left leg, and you knew what that meant but you never thought it would happen to you. You were slowly trying to convince yourself that it was all just one big coincidence but why would he ask you to join him if he didn’t feel it too?

European Surprises

summary: you surprise shawn but he too has a surprise

Your boss laughed when she saw how excited you were when you got to work. “What’s got you so chipper?” She asked, typing something on her computer.

“After this shift I’m taking a redeye out to Milan to surprise my boyfriend.” You said, eyes bright. “That’s why I asked off for nearly a month.”

“Ahh, yes, you’re dating that singer, I remember you telling me that a few months ago.” She smiled, knowing very well who you were dating, since her teenage daughter loves Shawn’s music.

You finished your shift at work, and clocked out before racing to your car and heading home. You changed into leggings and a plain shirt, and grabbed the already-packed bag that was at the door, and met up with the taxi that would drive you to the airport.

Shawn Mendes x Reader

**Trigger warning: self harm and bullying**

Word count: 1,085

A/N: I’ve combined an anon request and a prompt I did and as I said, I wasn’t going to do this purely because of trigger reasons but the thought of this possibly helping someone encouraged me to do it. I love you and I’m here for you all. Lots of love.

Shawn smiles at me, his face not far from mine. “What?” I giggle. Shawn places his large, soft hand on my cheek, rubbing his thumb over it. “I’m just so lucky, I wish you could see it.” He says before leaning in and placing a soft kiss on my cheek. I wrap my arms around his neck and begin to kiss him, hard. My body begins to heat as I feel Shawn’s fingers begin to curl up the bottom of my jumper. I quickly pull away before he has a chance to lift it any further. I look up at his eyes, an utterly confused look displayed on his face. I flop backwards onto the bed with my arms splayed out. “Sorry.” I mumble, knowing Shawn is definitely getting frustrated by this repetition. Shawn rests his back against the headboard, letting out a huge sigh. “Y/N… Have I done something? Has something changed between us? I know I was on tour for a while but I haven’t changed… Is there someone else?” Shawn asks, concerned. I shoot up, feeling so guilty. “No! No! Shawn, I promise, nothing has changed with us. I just… I just had lunch and I’m really bloated.” I say, trying to sound convincing. “There it is again. Another excuse. You know I’m here for you, Y/N, but I can’t really handle your games right now.” Shawn says, sounding a little pissed off as he gets off my bed and puts his shoes on. “Where are you going?” I ask, so incredibly annoyed at myself. “Home. I’ll talk to you later.” He says before walking out my door.

I breathed a sigh of relief as I landed on my feet after practicing a part of my floor routine. I relax when there’s just ariel left (a cartwheel with no hands) and I shouldn’t have done that. They say don’t get too comfortable doing sports. I gasp when I lose my coordination and quickly close my eyes waiting for the ground to meet my body. I scream out in pain and cover my face when I feel twisting ankle. “Y/N!” I hear my coach yell. I lay on back in excruciating pain. I see my coach running to me with paramedics behind. I take a deep breath before trying to put weight on it and falling back down. Another sharp cry leaves my mouth. Paramedics quickly carried me to the locker room.

“Y/N!” you turn around to see Shawn rushing to you. “Are you okay?” Shawn asks panicking while other gymnasts snickers. “I’m okay” I nod my head while whipping tears from my cheeks. “But you screamed and cried!” Shawn talks concerned “Don’t worry Sha…” “YOU HAD ONE JOB Y/N! AND SERIOUSLY ARIEL?” my best friend interrupts Shawn stepping through the door. Also a gymnast. Everyone starts to laugh except for Shawn, who looks really lost and confused. “Why are you all laughing?” Shawn looks at everyone confused. “Because baby it happens all the time. Just this time it hurt a little more” I say smiling before pressing our lips together.

“Okay Y/N. It’s just a twisted ankle. You can go home” doctor tells me and helps me to get up. Quickly I feel Shawn’s arms wrapping around my waist. “You sure you okay?” Shawn asks concerned while walking me to his car. “Yes” I roll my eyes playfully.

“Don’t move, Y/N” Shawn tells me before quickly disappearing. “What are you doing?” I yell laughing. “You’re going to have a hot bath!” He yells from the bathroom. “You’re a dork!” “But you love me!” “Sadly I do” I say to myself “I heard that!”

I stand not moving while waiting for Shawn to leave so I could remove my clothes. “What?” he asks looking at me. I raise my eyebrows. “Go away. I need to take my clothes off” “I’ve seen you naked before” Shawn laughs “And you won’t be able to get into the bath without my help” He smirks. I groan but do what he wants me to do. I slowly stripped my clothes off, letting them fall beneath my feet “Don’t look at me like that, Mendes” I chuckle. Shawn takes his clothes off and gets in the water. “Come” he reaches for my hands. Before helping me to get in. “It’s hot” I squeak when my feet touched the hot water. I sat between Shawn’s legs and let the water embrace my naked body. I look around to see scented candles lighted up. “How the hell did you do this in a few minutes?” I ask turning my face to his. “Magic” Shawn smirks leaving wet kisses on my jaw and neck. I smirk taking a handful of bubbles before blowing them to Shawn’s face. “Y/N!” he yells laughing before splashing water onto me. I let my muscles relax and rested the back of my head in the crook of Shawn’s neck. The room went quiet, the only noises was both of our heavy breathing.

And I'll Still be a Fool

Requested: “can you write an imagine based on the song just a little bit of your heart by ariana? :) love your writing by the way!”

A/N: So I said a while ago that I enjoy writing imagines based on songs and/or poems and things of that sort. So my next upcoming imagines will probably all be requested songs that you guys sent me! I might do a part 2 for this one but idk. Let me know y'all

I don’t feel the need to know who you’re with

Roses were always your favorite no matter how cliche it was. The petals were soft yet depending on the rose, sometimes they had thorns on the stem. Thorns that could make you bleed the same way love did. You normally hated poetry, and romantic comparisons or things of that sort, but the fact that roses were so beautiful yet sometimes so painful to touch, the same way love was, it was just interesting to you. And somehow someone knew this. Someone knew you liked roses, someone knew you enjoyed the sunset colored ones with the petals you’d rub your thumb against. For the past few months or so someone had been sending you roses every couple weesk. One week it was a huge bouquet of orangey pink petals with a note hidden behind the thorns that you always thought would say something but it never did. Usually just a heart would be drawn on the tiny piece of paper, and occasionally there’d be numbers written on the note, but you never know what it meant. They were long numbers usually, with no spaces in between. You thought this secret admirer of yours was sweet at first and you had kept some of the flowers in vases, but you tended to get tired of it considering they wouldn’t tell you who they were. Your friends had told you it was probably an old friend from high school, and that just irritated you even more. Either way it wouldn’t matter anyway because your heart was already taken.

A close friend of yours had mutual friends with someone who somehow ended up introducing you to Shawn Mendes, and you immediately fell in love just like the rest of the world did whenever they heard his voice. You felt a little pathetic for succumbing to the worlds way of falling for the same guy every other girl had fallen for, but you couldn’t help it. You understood easily why everyone drooled over him. It didn’t matter anyway, he seemed to be preoccupied with his music or other girls which was understandable. You had surprisingly talked to him often, snapchatting and texting small talk. He was a friend, and you hated it. You wanted to be more than friends. You tried not to flirt a lot, you never asked him about his past girlfriends, and you tried not to talk too much about where he went on those lonely Friday nights at 3am after an award show or something. You secretly cared and you always wished he’d come to you whenever he was looking for a little extra attention on those nights, but he never did. You figured because of the fact that you didn’t talk to him about those things, maybe he would like you, maybe he’d seem excited about the fact that he was talking to a girl who didn’t only care about how good he was in bed, or how much money he was making. You assumed most girls only cared about those things, but you didn’t. And you tried your hardest to make it appear that way, and you tried hard to show that you cared for him. But apparently he wasn’t getting that message, and it continued to break your heart, so you-not even caring anymore at this point- threw away another bouquet of roses that you wished were from Shawn.

Just a little bit of your heart, is all I want

“Yeah, they’re all freaking out because I haven’t posted a picture or anything, it’s kinda funny.” Shawn laughed lightly as he told you about his new tattoo that his fans felt teased by since he hadn’t posted about it. He was right about his fans, and you remember seeing plenty of comments and tweets talking about how much of a tease Shawn was. It was all true, and you wished it wasn’t. There were so many times you wondered if Shawn was flirting with you, and he’d give you tiny bits of what it was like to be with him, only to rip it away from you by taking two days to respond to a simple text, or not talking to you with the same tone. He really was a tease and it drove you crazy. You were currently wrapped up in your thoughts as you looked out the window next to you, watching the busy lives of strangers on the street. You wondered who else was going through what you felt, who else had such strong feelings for someone who didn’t feel the same. The day had taken an unexpected turn and you ended up walking into this fancy restaurant for dinner after work because you felt like you deserved it. It was the weekend after all so why not? You had posted about it on Twitter or something and almost two minutes later Shawn favorited your tweet, and texted you saying he was in that area. So here he was now, sitting across from you with food in front of him. You wanted to call this a date, but of course you didn’t and you assumed it was just a friendly dinner with a good friend. That’s what adults do all the time right? He was chewing on his finger, and that button up dress shirt he was wearing complimented his hazel eyes, along with those curls of his that needed to be cut. You scratched the back of your neck and forced yourself to stop looking at him and to finish your food.

“You okay? Do you not like your food? You can have some of mine if you want or something.” He caught you off guard and his voice melted in you ears like honey being poured into a sweet cup of tea.

“Oh no, I’m fine. I like my food, I’m okay! Thank you though.” You smiled at his kindness to share with you and you shoved some more of your food into your mouth. You really did like what was on your plate, you just found yourself struggling to concentrate on anything when Shawn Mendes was sitting in front of you. You don’t remember being so flustered just by being with him. You’ve been friends with him for some time now and you had talked to him millions of times without getting this nervous. Your feelings were blooming like flowers in the spring, and you wished so badly you could reach across the table to grab him. Grab his face, and kiss him. Grab his chest, to feel his heartbeat. The insides of his heart were most likely just as beautiful as his face. You knew him, and you knew his personality was amazing but you didn’t know him enough, and all you wanted was just even a tiny piece of his heart to learn about. What does he think about when he can’t sleep? Who does he think about the most? His family? His friends? His fans? Himself? Another girl? You chewed on your now cold food and continued to wonder these things, and think these thoughts as he kept talking about who knows what now. You weren’t even listening anymore.

I heard a little love, is better than none

Wind blew around your hair as you walked up to your house, and right as you placed your foot on the step to your door, you almost completely crushed a single rose with your shoe. If you didn’t love flowers so much you wouldn’t have stopped yourself and you would’ve stomped all over the damn rose until it was in pieces. Although you were head over heels for someone else, it was still a little sweet to you that this other stranger was still sending you flowers. But today, you were going to end it. You picked up the rose and walked into your house, placing it on the kitchen table. You pulled out your phone and went to Twitter, you figured this secret admirer of yours was following you ( or so you hoped ) so why not post about this, and ask them to stop sending you roses? You started typing but from the corner of your eye, something caught your attention. You hadn’t even noticed before but there was a small note attached to the stem of the rose like usual, but this time it wasn’t just a heart or some numbers. There were actual words written on the small piece of paper. You almost dropped your phone, picking up the note and tearing it off the little string tied around the stem.

“Don’t forget me, and I won’t forget you.” 6317

What the hell is that supposed to mean?? Next to the one sentence there were numbers written. No lines, no dashes. You re read the sentence and stared at the number trying to figure out what kind of game this person was playing. You looked at the numbers one more time before realizing what the date was today. It was June 4th, 2017, and yesterday was June 3rd. 6/3/17 was yesterday. Right? The numbers had to be a date, what else could it be? You were confused and frustrated either way, so you decided to finish your tweet.

“If you’re sending me roses, please either tell me who you are or just stop. Its very nice of you, but this game is getting tiring.”

You hit send and the tweet was officially posted to everyone. You hung the note on your fridge, hoping maybe you could eventually tell who’s hand writing it was. It was sloppy cursive, that you could barely read at first. You didn’t know anyone who wrote like that, did you? You tried to forget about it and see if anyone responded to your tweet. You figured you’d wait to see if you received anymore roses this week or the next. So you ended your day by placing that red rose into a vase near your window, admiring it as much as your secret admirer admired you.

And I’ll still be a fool for you

The sun woke you, as you turned over to get more comfortable, your bed was always your favorite place to be. But now the sun was keeping you awake and so you reached to your nightstand grabbing your phone, to do the daily social media check. You scrolled through Instagram, Snapchat, and finally Twitter. You scrolled through people tweeting about Shawn’s upcoming tour which saddened you a little to know that he was going to be leaving soon. You guessed it didn’t really matter anyway though right? Without even thinking about it you clicked on Shawn’s Twitter account, just to see what he was up to. He hasn’t texted you or talked to you since you two had lunch the other day. You scrolled down, to see his most recent tweet and you almost dropped your phone on your face.

“Don’t forget me, and I won’t forget you.”

He literally tweeted the same thing that was written on your note. You sat up and rubbed your eyes, looking at the tweet again. People tweeted him back asking him if that was a new song lyric or something and you just sat there, eyes wide. The stranger sending you roses couldn’t have been Shawn, there was no way. Maybe he just found the same quote your secret admirer found. Your brain was tired but you slowly were trying to put the pieces together. And so you ran down stairs to the trash can in the kitchen looking for more notes with numbers on them. After digging through mini pizza boxes and used tissues, you pulled out two notes from several weeks back. One note had the numbers 52217. May 22nd 2017. May 22nd, was the day Shawn came over to play you an idea he had for a song. You remember this because you pretty much marked in your calendar whenever you spent time with him, but if you were so in love with him how could you be so blind? The other note you found read the numbers 43017. April 30th 2017.. What happened April 30th? You pulled out your phone and looked at your calendar to see if there were any events marked, and of course there was. April 30th was one of Shawn’s shows you attended, and you brought him roses, you were starting to remember now because he used the roses to give out to some fans after the show, and you thought it was so sweet, you weren’t even angry that he got rid of your roses. Roses.

Reality was hitting you hard, and it all made sense now. Shawn had remembered these days just like you did. It was Saturday morning, 8am and Shawn was probably already on his plane to who knows where, you couldn’t even remember where his tour was starting. You texted him a couple times and called, but there was no reply. You stared at the notes on the table in front of you wondering how you were going to handle this. This whole time you thought you knew but you really had no idea. You wondered if Shawn felt angry at you now for your tweet, or if he felt bad. You didn’t know but either way there was one thing you did know, and that was that no matter how far away Shawn was from you, you’d never forget him, and no matter how many roses you threw away, your heart would still belong to him, and it probably always would.

Text Messages

Here’s a random short little blurb I wrote that I don’t know where it fits in so here you go

You checked your phone before getting in the bathroom and doing your morning routine. Shawn texted you three hours ago that they have arrived in the U.K and a promise of being able to talk. You also got a text message from Brian saying that ‘your man doesn’t miss you’ and attached was a video of Casey wearing that huge Shawn mask saying that he misses you, in the best Shawn voice he can. Towards the end, you heard Shawn was off camera mumbling a ‘what the’. Brian then turned the camera around and said, “Oops, y/n, this is the real Shawn. How much do you miss y/n, Shawn?” You giggled when you saw Shawn’s face getting all flustered. The video ended with Shawn covering the camera with his hands.

You replied to Brian, saying how cute that was and that you miss everyone too. Deciding to tease Shawn, you texted him, ’I guess you don’t miss me.’

Upon reading that text, Shawn was ready to write a ten page essay on how much he missed you. Until he remembered that Brian just got a text from you saying that you missed everyone, that meant she saw the video.

“Y/n must have texted him about the video,” Casey commented on how red Shawn’s face was getting.

“You guys are dumb, stop sending videos to y/n.” Shawn laughed and chucked a throw pillow at Casey. Everyone in the room laughed.

You hear your phone’s text message alert chime twice while you were eating breakfast, it was a message from Shawn and Brian.

The message from Brian had a video attached of Shawn throwing a throw pillow at Casey and calling them dumb. ‘Your boyfriend is so mean to us’ Brian wrote.

‘Don’t even talk about it, it was so embarrassing’ Shawn’s text wrote, little did you know that the reason why Shawn was so embarrassed because everyone was making fun of him about how much he misses you.

You laugh at his text message. You missed all the guys so much. 'It’s okay if you don’t miss me, I miss you a lot enough for the both of us. Just kidding. Stop being mean to your friends. xoxo’

No Promises

When Shawn left for tour three months ago, you’d made an agreement. Although you weren’t a couple, you both knew that the feelings between the two of you were more than friendly. That’s why you both promised each other that you’d wait for one another, and figure things out when Shawn returned home. You would sit down after his coming home party and tell each other how you felt, and would end up deciding to give things a shot.

But when Shawn walked through the front door, the second his eyes met yours, you knew it was over. He didn’t wait for you.

The lights in his eyes dimmed, and the wide smile on his face disappeared. He looked at you with eyes so apologetic that you’d think he had just done the worst thing he could ever do to you. I suppose that’s because he did.

You chewed on your lip as your vibrant complexion dulled, nodding as if to tell him you understood what had happened. You turned to walk into the kitchen, leaving him behind to greet his family and friends.

You spent the whole afternoon avoiding him, ducking out of a room every time he walked into it. You knew he was looking for you. You knew he was going to apologize and give you some excuse as to why he couldn’t do it. An excuse as to why although he promised you that as soon as he came home you would be together, he had broken his promise.

You could hear him talking to his friends in the next room over, his laugh echoing inside you. It sent shivers down your spine every time you overheard him say your name, asking someone if they had seen you.

The party died down hours later, and you were more than ready to go home. Why you hadn’t left the second Shawn gave you that heart aching glance was beyond you.

Everyone else had cleared out, leaving Shawn’s apartment empty aside from you and him. Just as you reached for the door knob, you heard him speak behind you.

“Y/n? Can we please talk?”

You squeezed your eyes shut and sighed, opening them as you turned around to face him.

Truth Or Naked - S.M

The party had just begun, the  music was getting louder, everyone was getting roudy. Parker had ditched me for her boy toy James was aggressively pushing him against a wall, with her lips soon connecting to his. Me, being the alcoholic I am, I was in the kitchen doing shots with a group of people. I was sitting on the counter, leaning my elbow on the girl next to me, Jasmine, her laugh high pitched and annoying everyone but making them all laugh at it as well. I was looking around the room sipping on my straw, when I locked eyes with my boy toy. His chocolate guys turning darker, more sinister in the light made my body shiver. I winked at him across the room, he smiled instantly and shoved his way through the room to me.

“hello stranger” I said holding out my arms, he laughed.

“hello beautiful” he said wrapping his arms around me, I wrapped my arms around his neck and pulled him in, wrapping my legs around his torso as well. I kissed his cheeks and moved to his lips. My fingers played with his curls and his hand went to the back of my neck, tilting my head up to his better. My mouth opened and before his tongue could even brush against my lip, a cough was heard behind us. I groaned as I rolled my head, and looked at who was disrupting my moment.

“look this isn’t a whore pad, so go somewhere else” Courtney said.

“then you better leave” I say voice edging on monotone. The room filled with silence as everyone just took in what I had just said.

Request:  What about a blurb y/n having body image issues ?

“Hey, are you ready?” He asks walking into the bathroom.

You quickly wipe your tears and look at him, he’s fixing the cuff of his jacket. He’s struggling with the button and looking up to ask you for help but he stops when he sees your tears.

“Hey what’s wrong?” He says, walking up to you, taking you into his arms.

“Nothing, sorry.” You shake your head.

“It’s not nothing, talk to me.” He says picking you and setting you on the counter so you can’t get away from him.

“Just, I saw some comments on your picture.”

“Oh.” He says frowning.

“I know I shouldn’t worry, but I can’t help but notice I don’t look like the rest of your friends or co workers.”

“And I don’t want you too.”

“It would be nice if I did, we wouldn’t stick out like a sore thumb in pictures.”

“Stick out like a sore thumb?” He asks, eyebrows raised, “Why because my hair is always messy.”

“No, stop. You look fucking amazing and everyone who says otherwise is fucking blind. Simple as that.”

“Shawn.” You start to push him away.

“Okay, let’s do this.”

“Do what?”

“Go down the list of everything I love about you.”

“Let’s start from bottom up. Your feet are cute, and I love how you slip them under my thighs when their cold. You long legs kill me, especially when you wear those dark blue jeans. Jesus, like all I can think about is getting between them.” He smirks.

“Shawn.” You slap his chest.

“Hips, christ Babe, they could knock me dead. And they just happen to fit perfectly in my hands. Were up to torso, which is just perfect. I like to run my fingers up and down it. Now were up to your boobs.” He smirks looking down at them. “They are perfect, they love to tease me.” He chuckles. “Collarbones, they are something else.” He looks up and then back down. “Neck.” He leans into it. “Perfect for my kisses.” He leaves a peck on your neck.

“Lips.” You sigh.

“Mmm, my favorite.” He grins, kissing you. “Need I go on.”

“You can if you want.” You sigh.

“Are you feeling better? Because I can go on.”

“Yeah I’m feeling better.” You smile at him.

You look down and pick up his hand, taking his cuff in your hands.

“Shawn Mendes, how did you get so perfect?”

“Been around you too much.” He grins.

pretty boy

Every single time he ever attempted to speak to someone he found remotely attractive, he would stutter. Or ramble, or trip over his shoelaces even when they’re tied. Either that, or he just didn’t speak at all. He got pretty good at following around the friend group she was in, just so he could be around her even if he didn’t talk at all. He was lucky, that one of his friends happened to be her friend, making it easier for him to follow that group around. He had talked to her a couple times, but the last time he did, he ended up trying to be funny by talking loudly and pretty much just making a fool of himself. She was sweet, and she would never hurt anyone’s feelings, so of course she still laughed at his awkwardness, just so he wouldn’t feel bad.

Tonight was different though. Normally, she’d walk around with her group of friends, all of them following her like lost puppies. She was literally the queen, not only of Shawn’s world, but of everyone else’s too. And that was just another reason why he thought she’d never even look at him. But she was kind, so she always acknowledged his existence which was nice but of course it was never enough for Shawn. He wanted more than that. Tonight, felt like maybe, he might be getting more. Shawn liked to dance, and he loved being with his friends, but parties weren’t always his thing. Lately the only reasons he’d go to these parties was to see her. He lived for moments like now, sitting in a circle of people he enjoyed being around, people who made him laugh so hard his stomach hurt. And of course it was all 100 times better when she was in that circle too. And it was even more exciting when she was sitting right next to him.

The music was loud and he could barely make out what she was saying but he didn’t care. She kept looking at him, straight in the eye, and touching his shoulder every time he nodded and pretended to understand what she said. Her hair was curled, and it framed her face perfectly. She was soft, and smooth all over, and he only figured that, because each time she touched his shoulder, her hand would slide down his arm past his sleeve, skimming across his skin before snapping her fingers away and putting her hand back into her lap as she started a conversation with someone else. So, if her hand was smooth, why wouldn’t the rest of her be? She looked smooth. She looked stunning. She had big jewelry, around her neck and on her wrists, and sometimes Shawn would notice the bracelets get stuck on her sleeve. Each time, he’d tap her wrist and she’d quickly look down, only to laugh and say thank you, and then fix them.

Shawn tried his hardest not to stare, and he tried so hard to talk to someone else but every time he did, he would find himself ignoring them just to look over at her. Some of his friends even snapped at him saying, “Dude, I’m over here. If she’s that great to you, then talk to her.”

Shawn simply apologized for not listening to his friend, and then just shook his head.

Just as Shawn’s stomach stopped flipping, and he turned his head to say something to her, she got up. She got up and left the room, alone. Maybe she was going to the bathroom? No, usually girls go to the bathroom together right? Where would she be going by herself? And why was no one following her? Questions flooded his mind, and he got up too to follow her. He carefully walked behind her, hoping she wouldn’t exactly notice. After walking past several people making out against the wall, and drunk girls on the floor, Shawn was outside. And she was sitting on the curb of the road, looking at her phone. Was she okay? Shawn wasn’t sure if he should tell her he was following her, or if he should just leave. Maybe she wanted to be alone.

“Come sit.” She put her phone in her back pocket, and her head spun around and she looked straight at him, patting the curb, motioning for him to sit next to her. She knew he was following her. Crap. That’s embarrassing. Shawn walked over though, sitting right next to her, his face bright red.

“Sorry. I just wanted to make sure you were okay.” Shawn spit out the words fast and awkwardly, scratching the back of his neck.

“I knew you’d follow me. That’s why I came out here.” She smiled at him, her head titled. She was so freaking perfect, yet not perfect at all. Her teeth were crooked and not the brightest white either, but she was still gorgeous. How is it possible for someone to make you feel this way? Shawn thought to himself as he stared at her.

“Look, I know you like me. Word gets around you know? So, you see this curb we’re on? I hate it, with everything in me. But I don’t wanna hate it. So I thought I’d try to fix my anger toward it, by bringing someone cool out here. Someone I don’t hate.” The words came out of her mouth fast, and her cheeks were flushed. Her eyes were glossy, like she was going to cry and it looked like she was nervous. Was she nervous? About talking to me? And why does she hate the curb? Shawn had millions of questions, but he only got a few things out.

“Sorry if I made things awkward by liking you. But thanks for not hating me. Anyway, why do you hate the curb?”

She threw her head back as she laughed, and her hair went in all kinds of directions from the wind.

“A couple years ago, there was another party here. And I was with this guy. And.. I was crazy about him. And I thought he was crazy about me. That’s what he said to me at least. He told me, on this curb. He told me he loved me. Sad story short, this curb brings back horrible memories. And each time I sit here with someone else, and try to make new memories, I still feel pain. And I don’t wannaaaa! I don’t wanna be that girl that’s still sad about her ex, telling other pretty boys, stuff like oh listen to me tell you about my sad story! Make new memories with me! Even though that’s exactly what I’m doing. Sorry.”

She was right. She was sad, and she was trying to fill herself with other people to not be sad anymore. But Shawn didn’t know if he should feel upset, or flattered about the fact that she chose him to try and make new memories. He didn’t care that she was rambling about her past, he liked it. He wanted to know everything about her, and now he wanted to know who her ex was so he could kill him.

“Don’t be sorry.” Was all Shawn could say.

“You don’t talk much.” She giggled and leaned her head on his shoulder.

“That’s okay though. It’s nice to have someone that will listen.” She said, and looked up at him. His heart was beating ten times faster than normal and he hoped she could hear it. Maybe then she’d know how just how crazy for her he was, and he could be more than just a pretty boy she told her sob stories to.

“So thank you. For listening.” She lifted her head from his shoulder, and leaned into him close, their noses almost touching. Before Shawn could even say you’re welcome, her mouth found his and that was it.

There was an alarm in the back of Shawn’s head going off, telling him to pull away. She’s using you dude!! She’s using you as a replacement for her ex!! She doesn’t even like you!!

But the part of him that was in love with her, the part that had wanted this moment since he first saw her, said otherwise. And so, his hands found the back of her head, and he deepened the kiss. The air was cold, but it felt nice. Both their bodies were warm with excitement, and infatuation.

Her lips slowly detached from his but their foreheads were touching.

“I promise I’m not using you. I won’t do to others what he did to me. You’re different than other pretty boys.” She laughed a little, as she spoke under her breath. It’s like she read his mind.

Shawn placed his hand on her cheek, and kissed her again. Slower this time, more meaningful. He wanted to make sure this memory they were making, could fix her anger toward the curb, and he wanted to make sure she felt safe. The type of safe that he felt now, after she promised she wasn’t using him. Could she be lying though? Maybe. But Shawn didn’t care either way, because he cared about her, and even if she was using him, at least he was being put to a good use. At least he was helping to make her less sad.
