okay but what if jungkook used to tease jimin by not calling him ‘hyung’ because he wants Jimin to see him as someone equal as him not as the youngest member in the group, because he don’t want jimin to love him as a baby brother he don’t want jimin to love him because he is cute and because he is the youngest among them, because he wants jimin to see him as a man that he could love and could love him back too so thats why he always making fun of Jimin also thats why jungkook works out a lot because kids are not supposed to have muscles right? kids are not supposed to look sexy right? that way maybe his jimin hyung will look at him as a man
It seems like a lot has forgotten but Yuuri Katsuki has pride. A lot of it. This is why mistakes bother him so much no matter how little it was. This is why he hides his face and refuse to interact with the people at Hasetsu train station. He lost at the GPF and the Nationals. He’s ashamed of himself for failing that much. His pride was severely damaged since he didn’t fulfill the two goals he had set for himself at his JSF profile:
1.) To not cry during a competition
2.) To be victorious in the GPF. *Usually when an athlete says “victory”, they mean ‘get gold”
Add the fact that the GPF is just the 3rd most prestigious figure skating competition (Worlds is 2nd, Olympics is 1st), Yuuri’s self confidence would have been shaken to the core. He couldn’t get a bronze in the GPF. He couldn’t even get the top spot at the Nationals. What hope does he have for anything else? What is there for him to be proud of?
No wonder Yuuri hit rock bottom. He’s a sore loser because his pride couldn’t take it. His epic career slump is hardcore proof. His pride also magnified his lost spectacularly in his perspective that it took him ages to lick his wounds and get right back up.
To cultivate pride, reputation is a huge factor. So obviously, reputation would mean a lot to Yuuri. He’s very sensitive about it. In fact, the first thing he did after bombing his FS at Sochi was to check the news and the social media for comments about him. He was even upset with Phichit when he posted online the picture of drunk!Viktor clinging on him before the SP at the Cup of China.
Reputation is important to Yuuri. He values his dignity. His pride depends on it.
So wouldn’t the reveal of his drunk shenanigans in EP10 absolutely devastated him? For everybody else in the series, it was funny and memorable. Even us fans think the same. But for Yuuri? That probably felt like the end of his world. He made a fool of himself in front of the ISU, sponsors, coaches, and fellow athletes. He had dragged Japan and his family name through the mud. He’s now a laughingstock - a goddamn joke.
His pride took a heavy blow before the GPF SP. His reputation and dignity is gone. It’s miracle that he looked calm as he skated Eros… or not.
He probably kept lying to himself before his performance with an unknowing Viktor’s supporting him (Yeah, Viktor doesn’t know Yuuri’s pain because he will definitely hide it from him. What happened in Sochi was obviously a treasured memory of Viktor. Yuuri isn’t that heartless to taint it with his own issues. So kept his problems on his own.) He then must have convinced himself enough that he’s ok. He’s alright. Everything is fine. Everything will be just perfect. So he smiled with confidence built on lies and kissed his ring for further reassurance. (He’s still a total wreck inside barely holding himself together)
Then he skated and everything went shit.
Yuuri’s SP at Barcelona is devoid of seduction because he’s focusing too much on perfection. He desperately needed clean and perfect quad jumps. Quad jumps will help him win. He has to win because if he does, he’ll get his dignity back. He can mend his pride. He would be able to make up for the scandal he had caused in Sochi. Everybody loves a winner. Gaining victory will make everything alright. He must podium. He must get gold.
But then he flubbed his quad flip. He touched the ice. His SP was imperfect. His score would definitely be lower than what he wanted. He failed. He lost. Everything that he gives a damn about depended on that performance and he fucked it up. So Yuuri crumbles under the pressure and wept his heartbreak on the ice.
what she says: I'm fine
what she means: so newt scamander has shown excellent prowess in not only using magic as shown by him using wordless spells even though he was trained in verbal magic and sure it's for saving time onscreen and all that but it says something and it's meant to show us this man knows how to use magic and he's shown apparating constantly without splinching and often with jacob so an added person plus he has an entire world in his suitcase with a shit ton of different climates and spaces and that's gotta take a lot of maintenance to stay functional and has insane knowledge on most species and herbs not to mention he literally extracted an obscurial from this girl which tbh doesn't sound simple at fucking all and he's also got to know how to use this magic correctly and efficiently so as to avoid trouble i.e. he smuggles magical creatures and traveled all over so he HAS to be able to hide his tracks so why did he not have a moment to obliviate jacob? he's asked a few times throughout the film and he never responds and i think it's because he empathised with the fact that this is a Muggle Plagued By A Completely Stale Life working in a canning factory and that that small moment of magic he witnessed could give him the strength drive and hope to lead his best life. Newt Scamander didn't obliviate Jacob Kowalski because he /wanted him to glean strength from the knowledge that magic is real because he is good at heart the way few people are. Newt has proven he toes the line between criminality and lawfulness but he wouldn't willingly expose or endanger the secrecy of magic folk so there is no explanation as to why he "neglected" obliviation if it weren't deliberate and sure there were a few times he ignored using some kind of mending or reparative charms to cover his trail like in restoring the jewellery store or the wrecked attic and others but there was no time for him to do so since he almost immediately had to apparate away or deal with some other loose creature so these are not examples of his character since he repaired the giant wreckage of Jacob's house and maybe that was because he cared about Jacob but they hadn't progressed as friends yet and what's more likely is he is BY NATURE aware of how to act cautiously with magic so nothing else makes sense other than him not obliviating on purpose to give Jacob a little bit of light and since we established he wouldn't endanger the statute of secrecy he knew that even in letting Jacob know what he knew it wasn't enough to uncover the magic community and even if Jacob spoke out he wouldn't be believed any more than most people and he could be obliviated eventually if he posed a threat but this actual angel newt scamander always sees the best in everyone so his first thought was that he had faith in Jacob not to rat out their community or at least not out of malice and to just admire this memory of this world he had with reverence and im not crying you're crying

The thing is, this isn’t just about Colin Farrell. This is about the fact that Rowling built up an incredibly intriguing character and then said he wasn’t coming back. Not just that, but also that we won’t get any answers to the multitude of questions following the big reveal.
Clearly Grindelwald must have selected Percival Graves long before he actually pounced - no one else had Credence’s trust. How long had Graves been selected? Did Graves put up a fight when Grindelwald came for him? What situation would’ve lead to that? At any rate, Credence certainly seems to remember a different Graves than we saw; a kinder, more generous one. (“You said you would help me, I thought you were my friend,” his utter rage and hurt when he thinks Graves betrayed him).
Even if by some chance Grindelwald didn’t use Polyjuice Potion, what did he do to the real Graves? Is he dead? Is he holed up somewhere? If Graves wasn’t being used for Polyjuice, surely he’d be used for information on Credence’s family situation, even Credence himself? (None that he would give up without torture, I assume).
Of course, me being ever hopeful, it seems sketchy that Rowling wouldn’t answer these questions if he truly weren’t coming back. It wouldn’t be that hard to confirm he’s dead. But that hasn’t been the case. (A girl can dream.)
TL;DR: the fact that we may not be getting answers to ANY of these questions about Graves is just as infuriating as the idea that such a crucial and genuinely interesting character might never come back at all.
Don’t underestimate the power of your opening lines.
Your first words are super important when writing your novel. They are what draws your reader into your novel, and makes them want to read more. It might sound easy, but in reality, it can be quite difficult to achieve. Here are some tips.
Open in the middle of action:
‘Danny dove behind the crumbling wall, clenching the knife in his hand.’
Immediately, you are giving your readers questions. Why is Danny running? Who is he hiding from, and why has he got a knife?
Open with a question:
‘Do you ever get the feeling that you’re always one step away from experiencing something amazing?’
Again, it invites your reader to continue by outright asking a question. What does the narrator mean when they say this? Are they about to experience something amazing? Most likely, but what?
Open with dialogue:
‘Are you freaking kidding me? Again?’
This one is tricky. If you’re going to do this, pick the right dialogue. You don’t want to start a story with a mundane conversation about someone’s shoes. Start in the middle of an arguement, or someone calling for help. With dialogue, you need to be right in the middle of it.
Open with inner thought:
‘Aly often thought of falling.’
Any type of inner thought/dialogue would work, but again only if it makes your readers ask questions. A thought about another character, an event, or a sassy comment will help pull the reader in. ‘These chips are good,’ won’t work as well.
of all of the questions stranger things season 1 left me with, the most pressing one is why did jonathan take all of those pictures of sticks in the woods when looking for will? they werent out of place or broken or any type of clue whatsoever but he took like three pictures of just sticks? were they special sticks? was he going to develop those pictures? did he think will was hiding underneath the sticks? why?
“A lot of secrets have been brewing this season,” executive producer Ali Adler acknowledges, promising that “we’ll get definitive answers” in the back half. For starters, we’ll find out what Mon-El is hiding, and why he claims not to remember “that almost unsatisfying kiss” he shared with Kara. “We’ll explore more of that relationship,” Adler says. “Kara still has to figure out how she feels about him.” Meanwhile, Alex and Maggie face a new crop of “complications”; Winn will learn “what it means to be a hero” (and will “get a little taste of love” for himself); Lena and Kara grow “closer,” leading to a possible shift in the Luthor/Super dynamic; and an army of enemies will emerge, including legendary DC Comics prankster Mr. Mxyzptlk. (“He’s a really funny character, and we’re going to get a lot of that humor.”)
also what do you think was going through evens mind when he saw them making out? /post/155598845063/nalle-you-need-to-give-it-up-had-about-enough
Actually, @shameforskam wrote some really excellent tags on a post I wrote about that episode. So, I want to start with those because I need to talk about Isak in order to talk about Even (this starts with the Sonja reveal at the end of 2.10 going into 3.10):
I totally agree, that’s exactly how I see the look between them. They can’t keep their eyes off each other and Isak kind of hates that.
Even has a girlfriend and this is all going fucking nowhere and he feels like a idiot for getting caught up in this in the first place. So he visibly says ‘fuck this’ and chugs his beer and leans over to hook up with Emma and forget. And I think Even very well picks up that ‘fuck this thing with you’. And since he does like Isak, he’s not gonna let that stand. He’s not going to let himself be blocked out and forgotten. He won’t let Isak do that at all this episode: he tries to kiss Emma but Even comes crashing in, he closes his eyes to block him out on the dancefloor but Even stays to be with him, he refuses to meet his eyes but Even keeps moving closer and closer… Even does not let Isak let go of him.
…plus, I think Even does feel a bit of rivalry with Emma. She crashed their first meeting and refused to be pushed out, she’s pursuing this boy he’s a thing for since the first day of school and she’s just blithely going for it without any of strings tangling him up. So I do think there’s some pure jealousy in Even plopping himself down onto that couch and getting between them.
