Confidence Mantra

For all of those who are tired of their own negative self talk, frustrated with themselves or just want to read some sweary, vaguely inspirational fuckery.

MY INEXPERIENCE IS NOT WEAKNESS.

OTHERS’ SUCCESS OR SKILL DOES NOT MEAN I AM UNSKILLED OR UNSUCESSFUL. SUCESS IS DIFFERENT FOR EVERYONE.

OTHERS MAY BE DONE GROWING AND LOOK DOWN ON ME FOR STILL GROWING. THEY CAN KISS MY ASS WHEN I PASS THEM.

JUST BECAUSE OTHERS ARE BETTER THAN ME, IT DOES NOT MEAN I AM BAD.

CONFIDENCE IS QUIET. ALSO THE LOOK ON EVERYONE’S FACE WHEN THEY REALIZE YOU’RE COMPETENT IS FUCKING GLORIOUS.

SOMETIMES ITS OK TO CRY OVER STUPID SHIT AND EAT LEFTOVER PIZZA. THEN YOU GET BACK UP AND DO THE STUPID SHIT.

BE FUCKING NICE TO YOURSELF.

Happy B-day Mark and My First Markiplier Video

I just watched Markiplier’s video title “Reacting to SECRET old videos!!”. And for his B-day, Mark asked for our favorite videos.

Problem is… I don’t have a favorite, but I remember my first video and the video that got me coming back.

My first video by Markiplier was “The Slender Man Song”.

Here’s the Linkhttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YEOkEJvAw1c

I was really into creepypastes at the time and love to listen to readings of them on Youtube. At one point, I had heard of Slenderman having a song. So I looked it up and Mark’s video was one of things that pulled up. It was nice, but not what I was looking for. I figured it was a fan made creation and thought it was great.

Then some strange, random man holding a dog and wearing a pink, fake mustache punched Slenderman in the dick.

I still remember rolling the video back several times out of confusion and thinking “That is not what happens! You looked at him! You should be dead!” I left after that video to find another Slenderman song. Found a few, but they still weren’t what I was looking for.

After sometime, my brother, Isaac (who happen to have the same Birthday as Mark), introduce me to Markiplier’s video title “Citizen Burger Disorder”.

Here’s the Linkhttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wlUGhWCIxpI

Oh my gosh. I’m replaying the video as I type and I remember why I love it so much. I’m smiling like a goober now. He just fed a rat to somebody. XD

I made this post as a way to say Happy Birthday to Markiplier.

And Mark, if you do ever read this. Thank you for making all the videos and making me smile and laugh; on good days and bad days. Happy Birthday. Stay strong. We love ya. See you in the next video. Bye-bye!

“why do you love lance so much?” why do you NOT?! look at him! this boy can light up any room he enters

bonus:

  • i can never stress enough how you all should be watching crazy ex-girlfriend.
  • i gather it’s for free on the cw app
  • i gather netflix uploads the episodes weekly in most regions
  •  it has everything tumblr claims to desperately want and yet its fandom is made of like three people.
  •  drop the “sexist title” bullshit and try to actually watch: the entire show is about deconstructing the “crazy” world by dealing with a young woman with untreated anxiety and depression. yes, anxiety and depression
  • and yet the writing is so clever for some reason it feels bittersweet rather than intoxicatingly sad
  • it’s not about romantic/sexual relationships. there are those, but they’re just a means to explore the female protagonist’s life and journey.
  • you get anti-heroes. because you don’t have to be a man making drugs on a cable drama to be an anti-hero. you have to be deeply fucked up and that’s what these characters are.
  • it’s the most diverse cast i’ve ever seen.
  • one character gets a number on coming out as bisexual. the word is said multiple times. you don’t like shows shying away from it? fucking watch crazy ex-girlfriend.
  • they sing and dance their ass off, and well, and showcasing meta commentaries on storytelling and how even music videos are made. they do pop, rap, rock, old hollywood musicals, you name it. they do everything and they’re brilliant at it. the soundtrack’s online. the music sheets too.
  • it’s just overall brilliant. it won the cw a golden globe and two emmys. rachel bloom is out of this world
  • rachel bloom also led this anti-trump anthem
  • again: cw app and netflix.

Maybe they’ll save it. All the pieces. Store it in the town hall attic and rebuild it in a hundred years. Wonder who the hell we were.

I just had an idea

What if Lance is captured by the Lotor at one point and is held captive.

What if the team had previously fought Lotor and noticed that he wanted Lance to join him

What if when they rescued Lance they found him sitting in the ship able to leave whenever he wanted

What if he refuses to leave with his team

What if they decide to just leave him that’s because they thought he joined the Galra

What if he had refused to leave because Lotor had ordered Haggar to implant a tracking device in Lance’s arm

What if he couldn’t tell them because Lotor threatened to kill all of the empire’s slaves if he did

What if eventually Lance is able to remove the tracking device and escape because he found out Lotor was bluffing about killing the slaves (they need them)

What if when Lance finally makes it back to the castle of lions the team doesn’t let him in

What if they think it’s a trap

What if Lance goes to fight the empire on his own

What if he pretends to join the Galra and kills Lotor

What if he dies in the process

What if the team finds his body and watches the security footage of him killing Lotor

the bayard is the paladin is the lion: a season 3 prediction

Alternatively titled: Watch This Child Jeopardize Her GPA in Real Time As She Ignores Her Midterms to Write Yet Another Fucking Meta

The lovely @littleblackchats already wrote an awesome post about the symbolism of the bayards for each of the characters in Voltron. But I was wondering: could we take it a step further and use the weapons - and what they say symbolically about the paladins wielding them - to make an informed guess about who’s going to end up in what lion next season?

(even if the answer to that question is no, i’m already writing this so whatever)

Since Allura, Keith, and Lance are the most likely to be swapped into new lions (or, in Allura’s case, to be put into a lion for the first time), I thought it’d be cool to take a look at what the weapons each of them wields says about their personalities, and whether that can give us hints as to who’s gonna be the Black Paladin next season while Shiro’s gone.

Alright, so in episode 1, Allura tells us that a lion’s quintessence is mirrored in its paladin, and that the paladin shapes the bayard. So lion = paladin = bayard. The lion and paladin should be similar in personalty, and the bayard should be compatible to the paladin’s style of fighting and personality as well. This is shown really well in Hunk and Pidge: Pidge’s weapon is small (like her), electric (reflecting her interest in computers), and made for precision (Pidge is more interested in finding clever solutions than just brute-forcing problems), while Hunk’s is big (just like him), long-range (reflecting his wish to stay distanced from conflict), and packs a punch (Hunk is the strongest character on the team, after all).

So the weapons tell us something about the personalities of the ones using them. But what can their respective weapons tell us about Keith, Lance, and Allura?
