why do i have to live in texas

Why are white squirrels exclusively found on college campuses in the US? I’ve lived in two different cities in KY and have never seen a white squirrel, unless on a college campus in one of those cities. Now there’s a snapchat story about a white tailed squirrel at a University in Texas. I googled white squirrel + college and found a bunch of links about white squirrels on different campuses. Why??? Where do they come from??

“I don’t live an extravagant lifestyle. I’ve been there and I’ve done that and to me thats just a bigger house that you have to vacuum, more toilets you gotta clean thats the way I look at it…the more yard you gotta cut because im a hands on guy I’ve been up in the trees with the chainsaw. I don’t know if its a Texas thing or a Mexicano thing but you clean your own toilets, you vacuum your own carpet ya know, why do you wanna have a house thats so big that you clean this side and by the time you’re done cleaning the other side you gotta come back and and clean this side again. It doesn’t make any sense to me. At the end of the day none of that matters all that matters is that im happy…” - Chris Perez [2016]

Story time... in North Texas where I live, someone tried to steal a Lamborghini and they got pulled over where my home town meets another town. The person that stole the car, I think had gotten out and was shooting at the police officers on the highway and now the service roads on the sides of the highway are shut off cause there was a police stand off... this week is a going great

What even? Like are you okay tho??

“What are you doing tomorrow night?” Theodore whispers as he absently runs his fingertips down the small of her back.

“I have a date,” Maddie replies, the lie tumbling from her lips a little too quickly. “Why?”

“Cancel it. I want to see you again.”

“Really?” Madeleine tries to sound nonchalant about it, but Theodore can hear the smile in her voice.

“Yes. I missed this, baby.”

“Oh Theo,” she sighs contentedly. “I missed you too.”

“I’ve never admitted this to anyone but I’m tired of Disney Channel doing the whole stereotypical southern guy from Texas. I’ve seen some characters from Texas and they always seem to have a southern accent with cowboy hats who have lived on a farm. It’s so annoying. I’m from Texas and I don’t have a southern accent, a cowboy hat, and I live in the city. This is one of the main reasons why I don’t like Lucas from Girl Meets World and why I like Jessie even more.”

I’m seeing some really unkind remarks in regards to the heatwave in the UK and Europe. Listen up people: I lived 44 years of my life in Texas. I know what high heat is and humidity too. I now live near Paris. Yesterday it was 103°F here. I thought I was gonna die. Why? Because for the last 6.5 years, I have become acclimated to my environment. When extreme heat settles in here, people are just not used to it. A/C is extremely uncommon here. Being acclimated to the heat in Texas meant living in an air-conditioned home, driving in an air-conditioned car to work in my air-conditioned office and shop in air-conditioned stores. People here do not have that luxury. When it gets hot here, people die. The European heatwave of 2003, KILLED over 70,000 people. That’s no joking matter.

To those suffering in the heat, drink, drink, drink. Wear loose and light-colored clothing. Limit physical activity. Take showers. Go swimming if you are able. Hang in there folks! Hopefully it will be over soon. :-(
