I had a dream last night that there was a really fat old black cat in Bloodborne, and this cat ended up being by far the most popular aspect of the game. Reviewers barely talked about the combat or atmosphere, they just wanted to let you know that this was a REALLY good cat.
Except near the end of the game, the cat gets possesed by an evil spirit and bites your hunter. It doesn’t do any damage, and the cat is so old and fat that it can’t chase you or anything–you just can’t pet it anymore and you can tell the cat isn’t happy about the whole evil spirit situation. And everyone was so upset about this that the whole internet exploded trying to find out how to save the cat. Nobody gave a shit about the lore or the story or anything, they only cared about the cat. The demand for a cure was so great that Fromsoft actually had to patch in a way to dispel the spirit. As well, the ending cinematics were altered to include the cat so no matter what you did you’d know the cat was okay.
There was rejoicing in the street, people were losing their minds, every social media feed was flooded with pictures and videos that said “MISSION ACCOMPLISHED: GAMING SAVED BY VERY GOOD CAT”
Why did I have to wake up tbh that seemed like a better world
