Drunkalypse S7 E2: 9 or so things

Episode 2 season 7, it happened, we’re here now, me with you, you with me, what a magical time in our lives.

Follow me on @starkalypse I’m trying to get to a 1,000 followers because I feel like that’s the number that makes you legit somehow….

I was editing this like “goddamn why the fuck am I cursing so much this week” and then I remembered that I was joined this week by an old friend, so stalwart and true, a friend that makes me deranged and so hype about life.

That’s right y’all I got all up in a bottle of Barefoot pink moscato!!!!!

Also most cases of shit landlords I know of aren’t people who are like ‘hmmm I want to be terrible how much can I fuck people over’, they’re usually like

‘I am five and doing an ambassadorial gig in Baravi and I got a bunch of land. Cool! Wow, this is a seriously enormous amount of capital with a kind of absurdly low rate of return - 2%/season? seriously? I’d be doing better if I sold all this and invested it. Why are we spending so much on repairs? Why are we losing so much to shitty tenants?

I have eight different property managers and #3 is getting me an 8% return. Awesome, I’m gonna fire the other ones and put her in charge of everything.’

And then two seasons later - ‘wait, she’s been breaking fire code and illegally changing the locks on people the day of a late payment and adding illegal charges and now there’s a class action lawsuit that’s going to cost me 2million? the fuck??? Do you have to babysit these people to find ones who will follow the law? I’ll call up the judge and tell them I don’t care if they hang that shit property manager but I can’t afford to pay that’.

And I am not defending anything about this, that is a culpably bad landlord, but I think it’s important to realize that it’s much more common to accidentally filter for bad management than to deliberately find or overlook it, and that it’s hard to keep a close enough eye out to notice bad management until suddenly you’re facing a bankrupting court case over it.

me: why is jeremy shada always hinting at klance being canon, why did “good job samurai” and “heh like that” end in the oral embodiment of the winky emoji, why did the bonding moment happen, why was the soundtrack for the bonding moment titled “To Go Home” while the softest part of the song played as keith and lance stared into each other’s eyes, why is lance’s birthday on national elevator day AND why did the elevator scene even happen, why did the season 2 poster have lance winking at keith, why did keith feel a connection with blue when the other paladins have never felt connections with other lions except their own, why was keith so worried for lance when lance was in the healing pod after saving coran from the bomb in season 1, why did lance recognise keith only by his mullet, why is lance even growing a mullet in that season 3 sneak peak photo, why is lance piloting the red lion, why is—

NU’EST saved themselves by joining Produce 101: From almost disbanding to the top of the charts

OK but I don’t think people understand enough how much impact pd101 has had on NU’EST?? For fucks sake for almost 2 years all that non-japan loves had to look forward to was  “NU’EST schedule- empty” because Pledis is shit. All we had was everyone calling NU’EST flop nugus saying they should disband. All we had was mistreatment and zero promotion for their 2016 albums when Pledis finally released them from Japan.

All we had was comebacks getting cut-short because of bad sales and music shows cutting NU’EST performances bc they weren’t “famous” enough. All we had was Music shows giving them the lowest quality mics and equipment and never uploading their performances onto their Youtube channels but managed to upload the more famous groups.

All we had was 10 months of waiting after Canvas, wondering if NU’EST will ever come back again and when. All we had was Instagram updates keeping us alive. All we had was the whole kpop fandom roasting NU’EST alive when they went on pd101 calling them cheaters. All we had was seeing NU’EST members, even the ones who never cried once in 5 yrs (Baekho) break down.

All we had was the members look straight at the fucking camera on produce 101, and admit that they failed and that their disbandment was near. Let me tell you on that die I fucking wanted to die right then when I found their reality. How many fans get to hear that?? Their idol, loves of their life, the group who you would be dead without, look so defeated and say right to your fucking face it’s over for him and your ultimate group of 5 years is almost disbanding because their company screwed them over like NO OTHER. Don’t underestimate what we’ve been through.

We had to sacrifice Minhyun in order to gain new fans. He had to tear himself away from his family in order to save NU’EST. I just . .  i need new loves, pd101 stans and everyone to really understand the importance of NU’ESTs come back and all this activity.

I want you all to know I feel overwhelmed right now with all this NU’EST activity. I want you to know how I feel. I want you to know this isn’t normal what NU’EST is going through, this is what you would call a miracle. I want you to know that the member did this all on their own, and everything single activity they have now is so fucking important. I need to know the reason why NU’ESTs thankfulness to fans might seem even excessive at times. Because they know how it’s like to have almost nothing so every single fan and every success (even small) means everything to them.

Thank you to old loves who stayed and thank you to new loves who joined. Without NU’EST my life would not be worth living and I would have nothing. I need you to know I am so bloody thankful for anybody who supports these 5 talented people.

From the bottom of my heart thank you so much.

ikke snakk til meg
  • we open with sana reciting this surah, which i see as an effort from sana to try and regain focus on her faith (but you should ask the muslims in the fandom <3)
  • very violent online abuse flashes before her eyes, apparently from when she was in middle school (here’s a detailing of the abuse)
  • once again, sana’s prayer is interrupted (it’s always interrupted either by an external character, or by her own thoughts…at the end of the series we’ll see her pray uninterrupted and it will be gorgeous)
  • we get this beautiful shot of literal and metaphorical self reflection. sana is broken after the latest events and she is now trying to pick herself back up (so, of course, she tries to go back to the beginning: the sana we first saw on the show, before it all started)
  • adding the above piece of art for reasons (like to charge/reblog to cast)
  • we’ve seen sana wear very loose hijabs this season, i remember people commenting on it. here, she tightens the fabric around her neck. i see it as her trying to protect herself. she needs all the extra strength she can get. all the extra fabric between her and the world.
  • she tries to reach out for the only friend (we know of) she could have left: jamilla. but we see they never got closure on the “sharmutta incident” and, when sana scrolls up, she is reminded of how much her and jamilla differ from one another. and she gives up.
  • quick note: i am not too happy too see jamilla painted as this hating muslimah but i’ll wait until the end of the series. her comment “i was just trying to protect you” reminds me a lot of sonja, who i hated really badly when she confronted isak during the hotel scene. but who redeemed herself and explained her behaviour in the end.
  • we see their last messages are from january 2016, so just after season 1 if i’m not mistaken? the tension started then and that’s probably why sana and her were already at war during season 2.
  • anyone knows what game the norwegians are playing at the school? it looks like a dance of some sorts: the way they’re placed and the couple is running in between the two groups…
  • isak is wearing a dandelion. from twitter: løvetannbarn (dandelion child) means person that has survived almost impossible upbringing.
  • this time, the lyrics are so on the nose even the beautiful subbers decided to translate some of them: an even song. to me, reminiscent of all the rumours spread about him paralleling the rumours spread about sana right now.
  • we see the pictures from the teaser: isak’s eye, sara (same jacket), noora…
we’re missing the brown hair with a hand ruffling them and the carrot munching (but i feel like the carrot bit was more symbolic than anything)
  • sana is back to the beginning (see above) except, this time, it’s reversed: she’s not joining the girl squad and the russbuss. she’s leaving both.
  • liar liar pants on fire
  • and she’s not trying to show, like in her first clip where she sassed vilde and told her being a russ was punished by stoning, that she can and will become a russ. she’s instead using her faith as a reason for why she doesn’t want to be a russ. very flippening, much reversal.
  • sana goes to class and…
  • the book is open on a page about dandelions.
  • which brings me to the symbolism of the dandelion. according to google, dandelion translates to “dent de lion” in french which means “lion’s tooth” (i can vouch for that), summoning the symbolic meaning of lions: courage, pride, family (connection/communication). the dandelion is also a sun symbol (#sanasol).
  • we get this exchange that i LOVE but that, unfortunately, is getting misunderstood: sana and isak are awkward around each other but both really want to talk to each other. sana, after looking at isak’s very obvious blackeye, glances at the dandelion in his hair. isak scoffs and takes it off.
you can’t take a black eye off. you can’t get rid of that barrier between two people. but you can take a flower off. i feel like the flower, here, is a perfect way for them to (in the sweetest way) break the ice. our attention is briefly redirected from the (devastating) black eye to the (hopeful) flower and, for a moment, everything is OK.

S3 & S4 Parallels so far

Okay so I just wanted to keep a track record on how many damn parallels Julie is giving us this season with Isaks…because this isn’t her being lazy and doing what makes people happy….noooo this is her setting us up for something we will not be ready for. So for us to work out what that is going to be, it might be easier if we look at what exactly has been paralleled so far with Isak’s season.

1. The Intro

Season 3 and season 4 are the only two seasons to start out by using the same powerful concept of introducing our mains current world with flashes of images of things that are happening everywhere that are connected and actually have an impact on the mains story very much. It shows how important everything that happened around us can be to our own personal small individual worlds. That just because it hasn’t happened to you, doesn’t mean it doesn’t matter, that is doesn’t effect you or have a connection to who you are and what you’re going through. And Both Isak and Sana’s seasons show us this in the first minutes of their story.

2. Group Dynamics

In both seasons we have gotten a similar scene with Sana/Isak, eating lunch while their friends discuss sex which makes both mains feel alienated and uncomfortable within the group. We see how different they both feel within their group dynamics and this feeling of never being able to “fit in”. This parallel almost sets up that Isak and Sana are both in a similar mind set. The feeling of not being able to connect with the people close to them.

3. The heartbreak party scene

This parallel was way too similar. The mains both see their love interest with someone else which both hurts and prompts them to question everything they have felt and seen so far.

4. The Crush Stalking in Biology

I don’t think I need to say much on this one because oh my god this whole clip was a repeat of Isak’s biology clip. Even from the title we go from ‘Even’ to ‘Yousef’, the setting, Mikael, even Isak interrupts Sana just like Sana interrupted Isak. This was a very blatant parallel and I feel like this is Julie’s way of making sure that we know these parallels and repeats are in no way a ‘coincidence’ there’s a purpose and I am so keen to see what it is.

5. “I’ll fix it”

So when we go back to Isak’s season the drama all starts with Isak losing Mahdi’s weed. we get this conflict when Mahdi tells him it’s 1000 kroner and Isak tries to calm him by affirming to him that he well “fix it” and thus this is how he ends up getting blackmailed by Sana to go to the kosegruppa where he meets and Even and boom all the drama plays out. This then parallels Sana who says the exact same thing to the girls when they tell her they cannot afford the bus. So just like Isak’s season it seems like this is where all the drama is going to start. With Sana determined to do anything to ‘fix’ this.

6. The cute kitchen bonding

I loooooved this new clip so much it was so fluffy and cute and it gave me the feels but guys…..it also made me feel incredibly suspicious…why? This is another blatant parallel of the iconic evak bonding domestic kitchen scene from episode 2 of season 3. Even the positioning of Isak/Sana and Even/Yousef is eerily similar. We also have the love interests preparing food for the main as they give them the hearteyes (same) and then they laugh and giggle over cute things and it’s all so perfect.

Too perfect

Too similar

this is the 6th parallel and I feel like there are more but these ones are the most obvious to me. Clear easter eggs Julie is giving us to freak out over (which I am) she wants us to see this parallel. To notice the Evak reference just like we did with the R+J reference in s3.

she wants us to see it, so when she pulls back the curtain and reveals the true reference we will once again be thrown off our feet.

ahhh I am so nervous.

Feel free to add on any other parallels you guys have seen <3

jeremy: throughout the seasons, he just kind of finds more of his place among his people, and he just gets comfortable with accepting that this is kind of like his new family

jeremy: i can’t say what’s goin’ down later on… and such and such and such, but there’s like a shake up with responsibilities. and i guess he kind of steps up a little bit and takes the mantel and he kind of owns it, and he definitely matures… he definitely matures throughout the show

me:

Episode 12x01 spoilers, watch out for unoriginality since people have probably already done this

@destieldrabblesdaily Shirley this is all your fault (I guess you could say happy really late birthday I don’t know)

Season 1 Keith: I am a very mysterious character who refuses to divulge his backstory. However, my uncontrolled reactions to the Galra suggests a deeper connection, one I will remain mum about.

Season 2 Keith: Me? A Galra?? Why on earth would you think — [trips] [hundreds of thousands of Blades of Marmora spill out of jacket] w-what  the hell i these aren’t mine I’m just [gathering them up frantically sweating] listen I just listen fuck [thousands of Blades of Marmora scatter across the floor] shit fuck I’m holding them for a friend just listen
