Today’s post comes from WHQR’s Jason Hess, a graduate fellow at the public radio station in Wilmington, NC. He writes

“We first signed on on April 22nd, 1984 and this is the first thing that we broadcast! We’re quite proud of the folks who started the station and that we have the opportunity to still be bringing high quality radio to the Cape Fear Region! It’s pretty amazing, featuring a pitifully low signal strength boast, a baby crying, and pipe organs.”

(Ed note: this is trippy. This is what I love about public media.)
