Between the Devil and the Whou-ffal-di

You have a choice: which do you choose?

A) As a parting gift, Stephen Moffat blesses us with a Whouffaldi kiss just as Twelve regenerates at the end of season 10, but (obviously) this means Peter leaves at the end of season 10.

Or

B) Peter stays another season, but as we know a new show runner will usually take  things in their own creative  direction, so Chris Chibnal lets Whouffaldi fade away into a distant but fond memory.

You choose!

I had an idea for a prompt after rewatching Hell Sent: What if there was an AU version where the Doctor has to return to the TARDIS after Clara's death to tell their child(ren). Like he doesn't know how to explain, and he checks the prompt cards, but can't find anything, and has to try an explain it the best he can.

But consider this – we don’t make it AU, and switch your perceived starting point.

Heart of Steel, Ch 23

Finally he looked up at her and suddenly Clara understood what he was talking about and it surprised her to not have seen it sooner.

“You want to retire with me,” she realized, for a moment not quite sure what to think about it. His suggestion made their relationship appear so serious. Of course, they had attempted to go to France together before – with him as something like her bodyguard. Now it seemed to have a different connotation as well. They would be going to France together, as a couple.

Life is complicated enough for Clara after an accident puts her young daughter in a coma, but through her only means of communication with the girl - an in-dream interface system - she’s meets an odd company representative who promises to help her along, quite possibly in more ways than she could ever imagine. I know her name was Clara. I know we travelled together. I know that there was an Ice Warrior on a submarine and a mummy on the Orient Express. I know we sat together in the Cloisters and she told me something very important, but I have no idea what she said. Or what she looked like. Or how she talked. Or laughed. There’s nothing there. Just nothing.
