Self-indulgent doodles in between projects from the past few weeks.
I just really wanted to draw some stuff for CastleSL’s work! I don’t usually read fics, but this one was really sweet with great relationship portrayals between characters. It’s also fun seeing the team in the Galaxy Garrison setting!
inspired by @drisrt‘s amazing art (check it - and all their other stuff - out friends, pure amaze)
“It is not because Zarkon suspects anything?” Ulaz asks.
He gets right to the point. The hallway they have sequestered themselves in will only be empty for so long, another patrol unit is set to pass through there in a few minutes.
“Doubtful,” Thace says. “I have been careful.”
“Then why send you to the frontlines of Haneer?”
Thace does not like the idea either. It seems counterproductive to the Blade of Marmora’s goal to take down the Galra empire by helping them to expand it. He would much rather continue cautiously collecting what information he can from the databases on the ship as he has been.
“You act as if I am the only one going.”
“You are the only one that matters.”
“Do not worry. If I should fall another of the blades will take my place. You will not be alone in your mission.”
“That is not what I mean.”
Ulaz takes a step forward and reaches up, trails his fingers along Thace’s jaw and up his cheek. It is an intimacy they have not allowed themselves since they came aboard Zarkon’s ship.
“Ulaz,” Thace cautions.
They are running out of time.
“Give me this,” Ulaz pleads.
Thace hesitates only a moment before his resolve weakens and he grabs Ulaz’s hand, presses their foreheads together. He allows them a moment where they only have each other to worry about. A short-lived moment, gone as both of their ears perk at the sound of mechanical footsteps in the distance.
“Knowledge or death,” Thace says, pulling away.
“Knowledge or death,” Ulaz repeats. “Please. Be safe.”
Thace nods, gives him a ghost of a smile before backpedaling away and disappearing down the next hall.
