100 Prompts That Will Make You Cry: Part 1

Unfortunately, my amigos, we managed to come up with 100 prompts. Here’s part 1:

  1. You’re a ghost haunting your own funeral. You see that nobody showed up.
  2. What are these strangers doing in your house? You’re confused and angry, it’s been a week and it seems like they’re not leaving, they’re not even paying attention to you. You’re the ghost haunting your house without knowing it.
  3. A single man and dog run the Iditarod only to show up with the medicine for his daughter too late. This is his story.
  4. You fight for a noble cause. You complete all the necessary steps. You reach the top of the world doing good deeds to improve peoples lives. It’s your first day of retirement and you watch your hard work comes undone before your eyes.
  5. “You can’t understand how it is to feel this worthless. I just want it all to go away! I want it all to STOP!”
  6. Despite everything they did, everything they went through. It was made clear that their attempts were pointless, as they were too late to save them.
  7. The only thing left for you to do was to leave forever
  8. You didn’t visit your parent figure in hospital the day before they passed away because you wanted to finish your homework. Less than 24 hours later, you get a message from your sibling. “They passed away this morning.”
  9. No matter how hard you try, they just laugh at you. You are a joke, a game, you don’t matter. You’ve had enough.
  10. “Robert, you can’t just leave! There are fifty kids waiting for you! You promised you’d get us out alive. You told them so!” “No, darling, I promised I’d get us out alive. Us, being me and my 500 grand. Thanks for your help, by the way. Sorry about the boiled alive thing. Chao!”
  11. Why did you leave me? It’s been 15 years. Why did you leave? I can’t just accept the fact that you showed up on my doorstep expecting an apology. I have a family now. And I can’t let you pull me into your problems.
  12. Your school, company, or organisation has required you to go to therapy for a potentially traumatic incident. This is the session when you decide to tell the story of becoming estranged from your last living relative.
  13. You can only watch the live news helplessly as, thousands of miles away, an tsunami happens in the country your best friend happens to be visiting
  14. “My head is full of you but my arms are empty.”

  19. “I cannot take it anymore, Sam. You don’t tell me anything, you’ve been disappearing for hours, you have phone calls you don’t want me to hear, and now you forgot our anniversary. I’m done being patient. I have packed my things, you can keep the car and the house. Goodbye.” A small box fell out of his fingers, and a ring with a diamond shining merrily on the band rolled away, as the phone stopped playing out the voicemail.
  20. You unlock your phone, and, ignoring the shaking of your hand, answer the call. “Hey” you say, not even trying to compress the wound, too far gone as you already are, “no, i’m fine. I’ll be with you in a minute or two…”

anonymous asked:

Can you list the Ron moments that the movie missed our changed?... or maybe give a link to a post which already has the list.

Okay, this is going to be done from memory so bear with me.

Philosopher’s Stone

  • Ron offering to share his food with Harry from the moment they meet.
  • Ron teaching Harry how to play wizard’s chess (this is kind of in the film but not explicitly so I thought I’d include it.)
  • Staying over Christmas with Harry and trying to cheer him up after the mirror incidents (I think they did film a part of this but it was a deleted scene for some reason ??? why ???)
  • RON BEING THE CALM ONE DURING THE DEVIL’S SNARE SCENE NOT HERMIONE (’But there’s no wood!’ ‘Are you a witch or not?’)

Chamber of Secrets

  • Constantly defending Harry from Draco
  • The scene where Draco calls Hermione a mudblood and it was actually Ron who new what the term meant and explained it, not Hermione
  • Visiting Hermione in the hospital wing after she turns herself into a cat and bringing her all her homework that she missed
  • Ron going into a freaking forest full of spiders and tackling his biggest fear. Even though he was shaking the entire time and is so terrified he can’t even speak by the end of it and actually /throws up/ afterwards, he still went and did it because it needed to be done and he wasn’t about to let Harry go alone. (Okay so this was in the films but I really don’t think they actually captured the gravity of it, instead choosing to turn Ron into comic relief… Again.)
  • Being the one to go to the hospital wing so that Hermione will have someone with her so she’s not alone and to explain what happened when she wakes up

Prisoner of Azkaban

  • Actually being really concerned about Scabbers’ health and buying the rat tonic for him
  • Actual background to the Crooksanks v Scabbers business instead of just villainising Ron for the sake of making Hermione seem better
  • When he was literally woken up by Sirius holding a knife over his bed, who, as far as anyone knew then, was a mass murderer??? Why isn’t this talked about more ??
  • ‘YOU ASKED A QUESTION AND SHE KNOWS THE ANSWER, WHY ASK IF YOU DON’T WANT TO BE TOLD?’
  • Noticing Hermione’s weird af schedule and being the only one to aCTUALLY CARE about where she was going and what she was doing
  • Literally fucking pushing Harry out of the way when they see Sirius in dog form (who they think is The Grim) and consequently getting a broken leg + dragged by his arm into the Whomping Willow
  • Awkwardly patting Hermione on the head after she apologises, instead of that weird hug thing they share in the films
  • Taking on Buckbeak’s appeal and dedicating so much time and effort into his case. Call this boy lazy or apathetic again I dare you.
  • Standing up on a BROKEN LEG to tell Sirius, who, again, was thought to be a MASS MURDERER, that ‘If you want to kill Harry you’ll have to kill us too!’ whilst Hermione stood frozen in the corner
  • Making peace with Crookshanks at the end of the book by holding Pigwidgeon up for him to check that he isn’t evil (I love Ron so much)

Goblet of Fire

  • ‘We’ll pick you up on Sunday if you can come, and we’ll still pick you up on Sunday if you can’t’ (or something like that) when talking about the quidditch world cup
  • The background and reasoning behind the big fight with Harry (+the later argument they had where Harry threw the badge @ his head.)
  • The actual insecurity Ron suffered because of the dress robes, not just the comic relief side of it.
  • Helping Harry practice for the second and third tasks practically 24/7 (including letting Harry practice stunning on him!!! #dedication)
  • Getting Krum to sign his autograph + basically all of hIS HUGE CRUSH ON KRUM JFC
  • Just generally being there for Harry after Cedric even when Harry pushes him away

Order of the Phoenix

  • Again, just generally being there for Harry even when Harry is being an ass to him (+ the part where Ron desperately wants to tell him what’s going on but Hermione + all the adults insists that they can’t)
  • RON WEASLEY BECOMING A MOTHERFUCKING PREFECT
  • The year of quidditch which, although being an essential part of the book with the whole Umbridge arc, is not even MENTIONED in the film. Literally, it’s one of the only films that doesn’t feature quidditch yet it’s the book where I’d consider quidditch to be the most important.
  • Anyway, yes, quidditch. Ron getting a new broom and sneaking out to practice so he can try out for the team
  • HERMIONE KISSING HIM ON THE CHEEK FOR LUCK. I SCREAM.
  • Ron making it on the team and having very very very little confidence so he’s… quite terrible the first few matches.
  • The awful ‘Weasley is Our King’ song that Malfoy made and the Slytherins take to singing at. Every. Single. Match.
  • Ron gaining his confidence and destroying the other team at quidditch, during which, neither Harry or Hermione were actually there to witness it. And Ron is so happy and proud but when Harry and Hermione start talking about Grawp, instead of being petty and angry at them, he listens intently and tries to help
  • Always backing up Harry when Hermione is being slightly insufferable towards him and not really understanding of his needs. (e.g when she’s pressuring him to do better at occlumency and Ron tells her to back off)
  • The whole arc where Arthur gets injured and all the Weasleys are sat around the kitchen at Grimmauld place waiting for news + the parts in St Mungos (this was in the film a little but they really didn’t go into the effect it had on the Weasleys. Especially Ron and Ginny)
  • The miraculous plan they all come up with to get Harry into Umbridge’s office (which, admittedly, backfires, but hey. At least they tries) during which Ron plays a pivotal role, not just a struggling character in the background
  • Everything to do with the ministry tbh ??? From battling death eaters to the spell that makes him delirious to the brain almost suffocating him
  • Staying in the hospital wing with Hermione for the rest of the year and the scars all down his arms from where the brain attacked him

Half Blood Prince

  • When Hermione is talking about why girls find Harry attractive and Ron is all like ‘Look at me Hermione! I’m tall too! I have scars too!”
  • Backing up Harry when he answers Snape’s question about inferi compared to ghosts (”Well what Harry said was the most useful! If I’m going to face an inferi I’m going to be looking for if it’s transparent not asking ‘excuse me are you the imprint of a departed soul?’” or something similar. Get wrecked Snape.)
  • All of the quidditch moments in this book are golden.
  • That moment where Hermione super awkwardly asks Ron to Slughorn’s party and Harry is just in the background like,,, what an interesting plant
  • Ginny antagonising Ron about never having kissed anyone and the subsequent Lavender disaster that followed
  • Everything to do with Lavender tbh. Like, their whole relationship, not just the comic version in the movies
  • Ron’s getting poisoned actually being a really serious thing and all his family showing up at the hospital wing
  • Pretending to be asleep when Lavender comes to visit (Ron Weasley how dare you, your mother raised you better than this)
  • Okay, I really want to make a separate post about this but the whole Luna/Ron friendship in this one is gold
  • I feel like we as a fandom collectively forget this one but Ron and the rest of the DA fighting the death eaters with felix felicis whilst Harry is up the astronomy tower with Dumbledore
  • Holding Hermione at Dumbledore’s funeral ???? Honestly that’s all I need in life
  • RON ‘WE’RE WITH YOU WHATEVER HAPPENS’ WEASLEY VOWING TO ALWAYS BE AT HARRY’S SIDE INSTEAD OF SITTING IN THE BACKGROUND LIKE A STALE POTATO WHILST HARRY AND HERMIONE PLAN

Deathly Hallows

  • Giving Harry the how to charm witches book and actively trying to start a relationship with Hermione
  • Comforting Hermione when she’s upset and not being awkward about it !!!! Character development (I’m seeing a parallel to the head pat in PoA, anyone else?)
  • Standing up to the Minister of Magic at the age of seventeen like. Honestly Ron Weasley is such a badass I love him
  • Literally giving up a life of comfort and security to go and live as a fugitive in order to help Harry
  • Pushing Hermione the fuck out of the way when they’re found by Death Eaters near Charlesbury !!! Like, this boy is so brave and self-sacrificing I’m going to cry
  • Falling asleep holding hands with Hermione @ Grimmauld place
  • The severity of his splinching after the ministry debacle
  • The very real concern for his sister and Harry + Hermione’s apparent apathy that triggers the fight between him and Harry, not some motive entirely brought about by jealousy as the movies suggest
  • Okay, not Ron, but the movies really didn’t capture just how unable Harry and Hermione became without him. They didn’t talk to each other, they didn’t communicate in any way for like 95% of his absence. They were literally unable to function without him I’m so sad.
  • Saving Harry’s life and, importantly, the conversation they had afterwards where Harry reassured him that his insecurities were unfounded. And the hug. Where was my hug,Yates? Where was it?
  • Ron once again assuming his role as the heart of the trio; making Harry laugh, keeping the spirits up, getting them to function again.
  • Malfoy Manor. Just. Malfoy Manor. “NO YOU CAN HAVE ME, TAKE ME!” “HERMIONE! HERMIONE!” Literally being so distressed and worried for Hermione that he OFFERED UP HIS OWN LIFE FOR HERS AND LOST THE ABILITY TO THINK RATIONALLY. CAn we just.
  • Even despite the mental anguish he’s going through, Ron still manages to come up with a solution for where Dobby should take them
  • Again, despite everything that’s happening around him, Ron does a near perfect imitation of Wormtail’s voice
  • Disarming Bellatrix fucking Lestrange
  • Managing to successfully apparate for the first time ever in a very high pressure situation in order to get Hermione to safety
  • Taking his shoes and socks off to lay on Dobby’s grave
  • Going back to Hogwarts and the reunion with the rest of his family; including Percy, which I really missed from the books
  • Literally like everything that happened during the battle of Hogwarts but especially:
  • “We’ve forgotten someone!” “Who?” “The house elves!” Like, guys, this is such a significant moment for his character and I understand completely why Hermione chooses this moment to kiss him
  • How wrecked he was after Fred’s death. Like, in the books Ron is actually there to witness it. He sees his brother die. I am Not okay.
  • Hermione having to physically restrain him because he wants to go and get revenge for Fred
  • Ron punching Draco in his slimy little face “And that’s the second time we’ve saved your life tonight you two-faced bastard!”
  • Offering to be the one to go to the shrieking shack ?? ALone ?? He says something like ‘Harry you can’t go un case they see you, wait here with Hermione, and I’ll take the cloak and-” when they all know it could be a suicide mission. I’m.
  • BREAKING VOLDEMORT’S SILENCING SPELL
  • I’m sorry let me just re-iterate: RONALD WEASLEY BROKE A SILENCING SPELL MADE BY ONE OF THE MOST POWERFUL WIZARDS TO EVER EXIST
  • Taking out Fenrir Greyback with Neville
  • Being the first to reach Harry after he defeated Voldemort, along with Hermione
  • Just the part where the trio go to Dumbledore’s office because I just. That’s such a nice and well rounded ending I’m going to cry
  • In the epilogue, practically everything about Ron is great but especially: “Don’t worry, it’s me, I’m famous”

In Conclusion

  • I love Ron Weasley so much
  • The films do not do him justice

i found this post in my drafts and have ZERO memory of writing it (thank u alcohol) so im gonna put it in my queue lol
  • ok but imagine
  • Bitty comes out to his parents but he doesn’t tell them about Jack, thinks it’s for the best, maybe to ease his parents into things or maybe to keep the pool of People Who Know as small as possible
  • and like yeah Ransom and Holster are super oblivious but Suzanne Bittle is not, not when it comes to her son, because she is a certified Nosy Southern Mother and she can see he’s been acting differently, happier but quieter, always on his phone and blushing when she asks about boys
  • and he talks about the team a LOT
  • Jack’s one of his best friends and he’s just started his NHL career, so of course Bitty’s never gonna shut up about Jack
  • (Same goes for Shitty and law school. And eventually Ransom and med school. Dicky is proud of his friends and wants everyone to know. He gets that trait from Suzanne, she understands)
  • but he keeps talking about this one Boy, how sweet he is and how his smile is like a sack of puppies and how bitty’s always making this boy do things with him like baking and getting froyo and going shopping and Suzanne is like. Yes. This must be Dicky’s secret boyfriend.
  •  the next family weekend or whatever, Suzanne demands to meet this Chowder boy who’s stolen Bitty’s heart
  • Bitty is both confused and mortified

Warnings: slight panic attack, language, asshole Dean

Request: Can I request an imagine where the reader lives with the brothers at the bunker & Dean is always a jerk to her & then one day she has a panic attack & then fluff ensues…

Summary: Reader has lived & hunted with the boys for 3 years & usually puts up with Dean being a dick pretty well. One night, she can’t take anymore and has a panic attack.

A/N: Enjoy!! Feedback greatly appreciated!! And thank you to @mamapeterson for just reading over this before I posted it lol wasn’t too confident on it tbh but I hope y’all like it!!

Outlining your novel scene by scene (Part 1)

Did you ever feel bored midway writing a scene? Or lukewarm? Do you feel like readers will jump full chunks of text?

Well, I used to feel that all the time.

I disliked outline with a passion. I thought it stole the magic away from creation. I thought it would trap my story in a box. Whenever I tried, I had no idea where to start, so I blamed outlining all over again. I would just write the first scene and allow my story to unfold itself. Although it is fun to let your story take the lead, it’s also chaotic.

I realized the importance of outlining on my third book. After months and months of hard work, my story turned out just… boring. Weak characters. A plot full of holes. No defined theme. Useless scenes. And a story that started with a goal, but changed so many times along the pages and accomplished almost nothing. Slow. Tedious. I was frustrated. I had to delete more than half to make it work. Even after rewriting, I wasn’t happy. That project was a major fail.

And failing was good, because, on my next project, I outlined.

I listed all arcs and, within the arcs, all scenes. I was mad. I wanted control. I wanted power. And I only sat down to write when I knew exactly what was going to happen from start to finish. I never wrote something that fast and effortlessly in my life. It didn’t take away the magic of writing, it simply gave me a sense of direction.

Outline is a map. And when you have a map, you have a journey to make.

If, like me, you are a bit lost, here’s how you can create the map for your next novel, or how to outline your book scene by scene. I’ll share with you three techniques, but will divide them into three posts. This is the part one. Or the Map Technique.

I advice you to grab pen and paper, and move away from the computer. Find a comfortable spot, maybe a coffee shop, or by your window. And let’s work!

Before outlining, write down your storyline in one phrase. I’ll be using an example to help you understand this technique. So, my storyline is:

Masked twins fight against a violent dictatorship.

Now, let’s start.

In every journey, we need a departure point and an arrival point. This is essential for a map. And, if it’s essential for a map, it’s essential for our outline. So, create the start (departure) and the end (arrival) of your story. With my example, it goes:

  • Twins have their lives destroyed by the government (departure)
  • They destroy the government (arrival)

Amazing!! Our map is taking form.

What else a journey must have? Milestones. Without milestones, we don’t know how far we are from the arrival. They are essential as well. But how can we put milestones in an outline? Easy. Between departure and arrival, you will list every important arc (or event, or key scene, or plot point) that must happen in order to take the plot from start to end. More or less like this:

  • Twins have their lives destroyed by the government (departure)
    • Their family is destroyed
    • They are taken in by their uncle
    • Uncle and twins plan their revenge
    • Twins find their mask
    • Twins perform small acts of justice
    • They gain the respect of the citizens
    • Government sees them as threat
    • Government tries to erase them
    • Twins perform huge acts of justice
    • They are almost killed
    • Uncle is killed
    • They perform one last act of justice by killing the dictator
    • Citizens claim for democracy
    • Democracy is installed
    • The twins destroy their masks
  • They destroy the government (arrival)

All milestones are placed, nothing too fancy, just a description of what we’ll be seeing along the journey. Good.

From milestone to milestone, we have roads, or sequences of roads. Between arcs, write down sequences of scenes that must happen to move the plot forward. For example:

  • Twins have their lives destroyed by the government (departure)
    • Their family is destroyed
      • Twins live with their father (who is an important journalist)
      • Father is abducted by the government
      • Social worker takes them to lonely uncle
    • They are taken in by their uncle
      • Twins and uncle can’t adjust to new life
      • They are all filled with grief
      • Uncle comes up with revenge plan
    • Uncle and twins plan their revenge
      • Twins trains while uncle perfects his plan
      • Twins and uncle adjust to new life
      • They become a family
    • Twins find their mask
      • Getting ready for their first step
    • Twins perform small acts of justice
      • They destroy factory that uses slave force
      • They kill politician who closed hospitals
      • They kill a famous torturer for the government party
      • They find their father’s file
      • Discover that father was tortured and killed
    • They gain the respect of the citizens

We are almost there…

Because, in every mile of the road, we have landscapes. Scenes are landscapes. And we need hundreds of different landscapes along the journey, beautiful ones, strange ones, unexpected ones… we need scenes. To every sequence, create as many scenes as you need:

  • Twins have their lives destroyed by the government (departure)
    • Their family is destroyed
      • Twins live with their father (who is an important journalist)
        • Father receives a journalism award
        • Twins enjoy the party
        • It’s time to go
        • Father drives them home
      • Father is abducted by the government
        • In isolated street, the car is stoped
        • Two man attacks them and abducts their father
        • One of the twins receive a scar on their face
        • Twins are left alone in deserted street
      • Social worker takes them to lonely uncle
        • Social worker takes them from the hospital
        • Drives them to poor area
        • Leaves them with unknown uncle
    • They are taken in by their uncle
      • Twins and uncle can’t adjust to new life
        • Twins can’t eat
        • Twins won’t leave the house
        • Uncle tries to get information on what happened to his brother, but fails
        • It’s believed that their father died
      • They are all filled with grief
        • Uncle and twins have a sincere talk about father, they tell past stories, they laugh, they cry
        • For the first time, they have dinner together
      • Uncle comes up with revenge plan

You can almost see the story playing inside your head like a movie. That’s the magic of a scene by scene outline. :D

This last step is optional. But it’s a great exercise to trim the rough edges. Under each scene, catalog which character(s) you’ll need, what place(s) will be used, what does the scene accomplishes and ways it can unfold. Example:

  • Father receives a journalism award
    • Characters: Father, twins, father’s coworkers, VIPs
    • Place: Banquet hall
    • Accomplishment: To show that father is a famous journalist that gives no chills for what the dictator says
    • Possibilities:
      • Father is announced as the award winner
      • Speech against the dictator
      • Ends speech by showing his love for his son/daughter(s)
      • Twins are proud (and kind of embarrassed as well)
      • Applause, applause
      • Nice food
      • Beautiful dresses
      • It’s the twins birthday
      • Or it’s Christmas
      • Open hall with garden
      • Fireworks
      • Rich people

Takes time, but, now, you have the most detailed map a traveller can possess. It’s easy to depart, just take a seat and enjoy the ride.

Suga Daddy: 8

Word count: 8.3k

Genre/Warnings: angst, dirty talk, language

Pairing: Yoongi x Reader

Summary: Yoongi tells you about his past but is terrified of how you’ll take it.

This came a little early than expected. Anyway, enjoy and thanks for reading.

Parts: {playlist} one | two | three | four | five | six | seven

Everything felt like it was playing out and slow-motion and all you were doing was twirling the flowers in your hand. You were nauseated and your mind was racing with every possible scenario. You knew that Yoongi couldn’t have a squeaky clean record. Especially with his attitude and the way he talked to you sometimes. For some reason you still loved him, despite that.

An All-Inclusive Guide to Making Your First Year in Practice Not Suck As Much As Wayfaring’s

Hi there, just curious if you’d share what things you were looking for in your first job vs what things you value now, now that you’ve been working out there on your own. Anything that must be in the contract that wasn’t there before (or vice versa)? Tips for future graduating residents?

Yaaaaasssss so many advices. So many things. This ask has been in my inbox for months because I have too many things to say about it and I can’t seem to organize it properly.

Let’s break it down into 3 sections: 1) What I thought I wanted 2) What I needed and didn’t know to ask/look for 3) What I want now. Here goes.

What I thought I wanted:

  • big dolla$$$
  • super sweet signing bonus
  • moving allowance
  • loan repayment assistance
  • regular 40 hour work schedule
  • nice patients
  • independence / autonomy in decisionmaking
  • ability to practice the way I was trained - with up to date guidelines and procedures and equipment

What I wanted and didn’t know to ask for:

  • Supportive colleagues - In your first year of practice out of residency you lose every ounce of confidence that you gained as a senior resident. You question minor decisions and are constantly afraid of killing people or being sued. It is extra hard to practice in a new town when your partners in practice are not supportive. Sometimes you need someone to lay a fresh set of eyes on a wonky EKG or a weird rash, you know? I didn’t have that option. It made me study harder and somewhat be more cautious and definitely more creative in my practice. But having a colleague to commiserate with at the end of the day or to consult on difficult cases would have been really nice. You don’t have to be BFFs with your colleagues, but they have to be people you can agree/get along with and trust to take care of your patients in your absence.
  • Friends - This sounds obvious, but I moved to a new town that literally has no people anywhere close to my age. Even having one person I knew and could confide in would have been wonderful. One person to go to a movie with or watch a football game with would have been a sanity saver for me. Find a place where you can find other people like you.
  • A reasonable amount of time off - I got less time off in my first job than I did as a resident. That was unacceptable to me. This would be fine if my practice didn’t act like they were going to go bankrupt if I took an unpaid day or even a half day to go to the doctor, but they did. You need a place where you can take one week off every 3-4 months if possible, even if all that time isn’t paid. Medicine is such a stressful job. Make sure they’re giving you rest time.
  • A non-toxic work environment - I knew going into my job that I was replacing a workaholic and that I was joining a workaholic. What I didn’t realize was that I was also expected to be a workaholic and anything less than killing myself was seen as laziness. Pay attention to the culture at your new job. Ask the docs what they do for fun or to relax and more importantly when the last time was they did that thing. If they don’t have any answers, they’re too busy.
  • Diversity. This may just be me, but I went into family medicine because I get bored easily. I need variety of patient types and disease types and socioeconomic groups and everything else. I realized quickly in my practice that most of my patients were privately insured elderly white people. As in, the most boring demographic for Wayfaring
  • A Balanced schedule. I figured that when I joined a practice that had been established for 30 years that the workflow kinks would have been worked out and it would run like a well oiled machine. In reality I would have 8 physicals a day and 5 of my most complicated patients in hospital follow ups back to back, all scheduled for just 15 minutes. There has to be balance in the schedule. You have to be able to take a little extra time here and make it up elsewhere.

What I want now:

  • fair dolla$$$. In actuality, what’s fair is actually considerably more than what I was making in my first job. I was grossly underpaid, particularly considering this being a rural area where nobody wants to work (typically those jobs are paid much higher). It’s not about the bottom dollar value for me. It’s about compensating me in a way that is comparable to my peers.
  • Colleagues who can be both friends and mentors. See above.
  • Good benefits. Two years of no dental or vision sucks when your most expensive problems are dental and vision related. Life insurance and retirement plans aren’t something most 30 year olds think of, but they’re really important, and I didn’t have those to start with.
  • A flexible schedule. The whole world doesn’t need to fall apart if I need to switch my regular day off or if I need a half day to go to the doctor.
  • Administrative time. Preferably a full week day, but a half day is great too. I’m happy working 4 10 or 12 hour days a week to have one week day off to catch up on work I’m behind on or get my hair cut and get my taxes done and see my psychiatrist, you know?
  • Knowledgeable and helpful staff. I need staff who don’t perpetuate old wives’ tales and notions like “you need a zpack for that cold”. I need to work with people who will ask if they don’t understand something rather than just make something up and who can help me educate my patients. I need folks who are prompt and who can anticipate some needs.
  • To not be responsible for other peoples’ paychecks. In private practice, if I take time off or scale back, the practice loses money and thus our staff lose hours or money too. The staff in my first job were horribly underpaid and I don’t like the idea of the entire burden of the practice’s finances hanging on my shoulders. Sign me up for that hospital-owned practice, please.
  • To not have to turn patients away based on payer source. This is a national problem and is definitely not limited to my first job. But my first job wouldn’t let me take Medicaid patients at all. It made it completely impossible for me to build any sort of pediatric or OB practice in our town. I don’t like the idea of turning away a patient because their type of insurance doesn’t pay as well. I want to just treat patients and not have to worry about their payments. Hello, single payer healthcare system. Get on it! Obviously I will still have to worry about whether my patient can afford their meds or whether their insurance will cover their meds, but I won’t have to pick and choose what patients I accept based on their payer source.
  • To deliver quality, up to date care. To work with people who will back up my evidence-based decisions and not practice based on feelings and patient satisfaction. To work with people who will encourage me to learn more and do new things.

There you have it folks. A lil summary of what I want, what you might want, and what I’ve learned in these first (almost) 2 years of practice. Here’s to better future jobs for us all!

03. Baby Talk

Harry wants to have a baby.

Warnings: Fluff, smut

When you arrived home after a long day of work and smelled the roast, you knew Harry was up to something.

Either he wanted to talk over a very important decision with you, or the tabloids were about to—if they hadn’t already—print a false or prying story about you and he wanted to take your mind off it. However, you still smiled as you slipped off your shoes and jacket.

It was the little things. That’s what no one told you about marriage. Marriage wasn’t all about the Instagram posts praising each other, or the mind-blowing sex, or the grand statements of affection. It was the foot rubs after a long day, a roast in the oven as soon as you came home from work, and the quick forehead kiss in the early morning when he woke before you. Those little things kept the love alive.

And oh, how you loved them.

Kind and Goofy

I thank (and blame) @pixletta for this. This is based on a short story they gave me and I just-

ENJOY

Au where your world is black and white until you kiss your soulmate

Jeremy had always thought of his life as simple. For years he only had to focus on three things: his music loving best friend, his obnoxious teenage bully and the love of his life - the main ingredients for a teenage boy. He had grown used to the black and white surroundings he had grown up in. However this all changed when he got the Squip.

The little computer in his head was adamant on him becoming more than his nerdy persona. He insulted him, manipulated him into getting what he wanted and soon Jeremy found himself rising above his ranks. He was talking to the popular kids, he was wearing more fashionable clothing and his once teenage bully was not practically his best friend. All he wanted now was her - his soulmate.

But apparently, that was too much to ask.

"What do you mean it might not be Christine?“ Jeremy questioned his Squip out loud in his bedroom where no one else could hear. His dad had gone out to get groceries (thankfully with pants) so the house was his for the time being.

"I’m saying,” the CPU stated, taking his physical form over to the end of the bed, “that soulmates are not the result of science, therefore I am unable to calculate who the particular human will be, given that there are roughly 7,500,000,000 people roaming the Earth at this given moment. It is very unlikely that your soulmate is Christine."

"But it has to be!” Jeremy interjected. “Soulmates have a bond, and I can feel that bond between us."

"You don’t even know her Jeremy.”

"I don’t need to! When I close my eyes, I can picture us together, and we’re happy. Whenever I see her, I just want to kiss her and tell her how much I love her. I want her to tell me how much she needs me… I want to know that I’m her favourite person.“ Jeremy was soon lost in his own daydream and failed to notice that the Squip had suddenly taken interest.

My Fake Boyfriend Part 11 (Final Part)

Summary: After receiving a very rude letter of your ex on the mail saying that he is going to get married. You see yourself not knowing what to do, you can just let it go or accept the help of your hot neighbor and pretend he is your boyfriend.

Paring: Bucky x Reader

Words: 3571

Warnings: A lot of emotions, a lot of fluffy and a little of smut.

@drinkfantasy thank you so much for being my beta. You are the best.

You are so happy, you can’t believe that today you are finally going to sleep on your own bed. “You know, I really like to see you wearing my clothes.” You smile at Bucky’s words as he hugs you from behind.

“I like to wear them, they smell like you.” You are wearing a pair of leggings and one of his sweaters. It’s so big and comfortable. “You can keep it if you want, it looks really good on you.” You turn around kissing him on the lips. “You are going to regret this, in a couple months you are not going to have any more clothes to wear.” You say playful, taking his hair out of his forehead.

“I don’t mind, I can always steal them back and this way they are gonna smell like you.” He is so sweet, you can’t believe how kind and precious Bucky Barnes can be, especially after everything he has been through.

darkempressinfinitemind asked: How did you get into freelance?

The short version? Accidentally!

Longer version? It started with a friend hiring me to ghost write their memoir (before either of us knew what ghost writing was. Also he apparently had this awesome life before he knew me and never bothered to mention it before the idea of writing a book came along. Who knew? Random happenstance). I became more confident in the idea of writing for others, and then was referred to the site Peopleperhour.com by a friend of mine, who was trying to pick up freelancing.

I applied for my first job there, and it was literally months before I got any bites. My first bite ended up paying me $3 an hour. I was desperate, so I took it. It gave me a reference, and I got a better job, and a better job, and a better job, until I had enough references to apply for REALLY decent jobs. Fast forward, and here I am with my own Wordsmithing business.

But you want advice, don’t you?

  • Find a Freelancing Website

There’s Elance, PPH, and a wide range of others. Pick one that works for you (or multiple) and start drumming up your profile there. Get samples out so people can see your style of work.

  • Get Reviews at All Costs

Get people you know to write reviews. Take low paying jobs to get reviews. Take whatever jobs you can and get reviews, because they really are everything to a beginning freelancer. I started out with a GED (not even a high school diploma) and still got high paying jobs, because no one needs to see your credentials – they just need proof that real life people have given you a test run.

Degrees and all that? They’re to prove you know your stuff; that someone has tested you and written off on it. Reviews are the internet’s new degrees; be willing to invest some time and effort into them.

  • Take Any and As Much Work as You Can

Not only for the reviews, but for practice. There’s a new song and dance involved with freelancing that you won’t find anywhere else. Big companies are paying millions on Big Data to figure out what little nuances make customers happy. You don’t have Big Data, and you’re up against thousands of freelancers just like you – you have to figure out the key to standing out by hand.

Getting as many jobs as you can early on gives you a chance to test the waters and find your stride before you’re dealing with big clients that are less forgiving of your fumbles. You’ll learn something new from every job so you really ARE the top professional you claim to be.

  • Claim to Be a Professional

Yeah, yeah, yeah, I should give you advice about being honest and doing the leg work before you get started. But they say to dress for the job you want, not the job you have. So act like the professional you want to be, not the one you are.

If you’re 18 and this is your first freelancing job, make your profile and all your correspondences look like you’re 37 and have been freelancing for 10 years (don’t lie, just be indirect. Talk like you’re older. Say you’ve been freelancing for several years, even if you’ve only been freelancing for a few months. If you’re living at home with your parents and the topic of family comes up, just call them “family;” the client won’t know if you’re a married mother of five or are talking about your dad). People will look right over you if they THINK you’re not capable, without even giving you a chance to show what you can do. If you take away that first – sometimes incorrect – assumption, your foot’s in the door and you can prove yourself.

Then after you have 300 five-star reviews and a client list as long as your arms, you can reveal yourself as 20 with three years’ experience, and people will believe you’re a prodigy. Then you’ll get hired for being the talented young professional who IS their target audience, so you’re perfect to create a product FOR their target audience.

  • Be Ready to Put in More Hours

Once you’ve been in the game a while and have established yourself, you can make your weekends sacred with no work stuff. But before then, you need to be on call all the time. What’s going to make you stand out against the rest in the beginning is timeliness.

If it’s a toss-up between you and someone just as qualified, the client will decide on whoever replies the fastest and most coherently. Reply to messages as soon as possible. Talk back and forth on the weekends. Offer as tight a deadline as you can for every project, and if you can deliver early, deliver early. Once you have your reputation and your reviews, then you can tone it back to the same level as any other job; you work on your work days, and you’re gone from the planet on your off days.

  • Follow Your Heart – But Follow the Money First

I’ll let you in on a little secret. I hate web copy. Detest it. A client can have the coolest website idea ever, but having to don my promotional hat and describe their services to a target audience is tedious and unfulfilling as all get out. What I enjoy is blog writing, where I get to explore a concept and tell it (sometimes) in my own voice. I love product descriptions even, where I get to sharpen my description skills to be later used in fiction. But guess what? Web copy writing pays well, because it is difficult and it’s in huge demand.

Here’s a quick insider look at the market: Today, every style of business in existence needs a website. That means web designers are the key holders in a world full of locked doors. They’re making a killing, but every website needs CONTENT. They’re cranking out 15 websites a month but they’re just blank pages without some writing to make them REAL. That’s where my industry comes in, the Tonto to their Lone Ranger, to make their home pages, their about pages, their service pages, etc. so their website is a real website. So long as online business booms, web designers are Sauron and copy writers are the one ring to rule them all.

That’s where the money is. So even if I really hate web copy, I’m good at it. That’s what pays the rent, grows my business, and keeps my employees’ checks signed – giving me the financial security I need to then ALSO do things I like. Ghost writing, book editing, blog writing, working on my own stuff.

If you want to make it in freelancing, you need money for bills. But you also need money to prove to your freelancing site that you’re worth promoting. Be willing to do jobs you’re not crazy about, so you can grow to the point of having enough income to afford doing what you really love.

  • Embrace the Uncertainty

One of the hardest things about freelancing is the irregularity. One month, you’re swimming in cash. The next, you scrape by. At the beginning of the month, you only have one project; at the end, you have 10. I’ve been at this for years, and I still have a mini panic during summer when I’m sure this is the year that my career finally ends. But it never has.

The upside to this uncertainty is you’re never sure when great things are going to happen. The security of a 9-to-5 lets you know exactly how much you will make, but robs you of the chance for those surprise miracles where a massive client falls in your lap and pays your rent for four months within two weeks.

Take faith that a slow month is giving you a chance to rest up for when that tsunami of work comes in. Having a new client every week is giving you a chance to have fun before you have one client for an entire year (which can get boring at times). Freelancing can be a science, but you still need a little faith. It keeps you on your toes, it gives you unexpected bonuses none of your 9-to-5 friends can count on, and it gives you freedom.

Breaking into freelancing is slow going at first, but so long as you’re good at what you do, you will break in. There’s seriously never been a better time in living memory for it.

Hope this was helpful!

The icy breeze whipped across your face as you started your approach towards the building. The speed of your heart was increasing with every step, your legs began to weigh you down like lead, and your breathing became harsh and ragged. Nerves were infecting your body, intensifying as you finally reached the automatic doors. You closed your eyes, taking in a deep breath before finally stepping forward. The doors opened for you, and the bustling Busan train station was revealed.

Noises echoed in every direction, you watched as people quickly rushed towards their trains, and you suddenly figured that you should do the same. You shook away your wonder as you started to go through bag check, but your eyes still managed to drift around the building that you remembered all too well.

It was quieter back then, or maybe it wasn’t. You might’ve just been so numbed by all of the pain you were feeling that you couldn’t sense anything else. Your eyes glided across the path that had been etched into your mind for the past year and a half.

“I know it doesn’t seem like it, but I love you so much. I really fucking do.”

“Just play the damn game with me !” - Batmom x Damian

Damian is a brat, but I kinda want to hug him to death…Wait…Oh well, anyway, here’s a little story where Batmom (you) really wants to bond with the kid.

(My masterlist blog here : https://ella-ravenwood-archives.tumblr.com)

_____________________________________________________________________

You had gotten it printed into your brain. It was too late now, you couldn’t forget your idea, no matter what. Bruce knew, and didn’t try to stop you from doing what you were gonna do anyway. Besides, he thought it was cute.

What was your idea ? Simple. Damian never had a normal childhood. He was still a kid, only eleven…So he still had a chance at having somewhat of a normal childhood (if you put his nightly activities on the side…and the fact that he had been raised to be a killer).

Against all odds, you and Damian clicked pretty fast. He warmed up to you the fastest…He felt like you were the only one of the bat family not judging him in any way.  Also, you told him off when he was going to far, and he found that he couldn’t speak badly to you, that you had an effect on him that made him want to be nicer. Better…In a word, you quickly became his mommy.

He never really had an actual mother. Talia wasn’t exactly loving with him, and she did try to kill him a few times, succeeding once (a memory you don’t like to remember). You were the first one, even before Bruce or Dick, to make him feel loved and to make him feel what love really was…How could he resist that ?

The first time he called you “mom”, not “mother”, “mom”, you cried, and the poor boy thought he did something wrong. You explained to him that it was “happy tears”, but you’re not sure he understood. He gave you an awkward hug, and you couldn’t stop but smile. It’s that exact moment that forged the idea of trying to show him what a normal childhood was. But, even though he considered you his mom, he wasn’t going to make things easy for you and your plans.

You two had been dating for a long time now, over 6 months, and still going strong. He was a total sweetheart and treated you like royalty. He did it because he was him, but also because he knew that you were the baby of the family of Avengers, and they were ever so protective of you. You had been an Avenger for just over a year and being a year younger than Peter, made you the youngest Avenger and that meant everyone looked out and after you. Missions alone was unheard off and one injury and they would protect you like a precious gem. They saw your relationship with Peter as harmless and nothing past cuddles, kisses and holding hands.

You seemed so happy in the previous weeks, and now, it was like you were right back at the beginning.

Steve knew that he said he would call Bucky, but he didn’t know if he would even be able to contain his anger. There was a huge part of him that wanted to fly to wherever Bucky was and beat the living shit out of him. Steve didn’t like bullies, even if they happened to also be his friends. He wouldn’t tolerate this. He wouldn’t let Bucky just abandon you. He couldn’t. And if he couldn’t knock some sense into Bucky, well, then he would figure out where to go from there.

Young!Reader x Uncle!Kol, Young!Reader x Father!Klaus, Young!Reader x Uncle!Elijah

I took a deep breath as the cold air pricked my skin. * why is it so fucking cold *. I pull my jacket closer to my body as the wind blows down the school hallway. “Hurry up Y/n,” my friends Jason and Kara say waiting for me at the gym door. We were heading to the gym since we have to go talk to our gym coach about the pacer test along with meet Hope. ^ Whoopee!^

“Slow down guys remember crouches,” I say tilting my head to the crutches in my hands. “Sorry Black Canary,” says Jason using my nicknames while scratching the back of his head as I finally catch up with them. “It’s fine to let’s just go before lunch ends I am hungry,” I said as we head into the gym when I remembered my plan. I still need to give Jason and Kara the goodbye letters. *Oh yeah soon I won’t see them for as long as they think we will. At least now I won’t be able to bother them anymore. Jason won’t have to wait for me at the end of the street so we could talk. And he could go out with Hope like he wanted to. Kara would have less competition when it comes to ballet tryouts. I am doing them a solid they don’t need to baby me anymore. No one will not even myself* I thought. *The voices will stop no more looking at the knife, in lust. Or wanting to kill someone, along with dreams of torture*. ^Yeah honey like we said your end is the end^. I felt like screaming as the Voice poisonous sound rings through me.

“Hey are you ok, ” asks Kara. “Yeah don’t worry about it I am just thinking about something,”.^More like hearing something, but don’t worry it will end soon just remember the goodbye^.

“Hey if you guys don’t see me for a while, remember that I love you guys ok, “I said not looking at them to see their faces.

“What do you mean are you going somewhere ?” Said Kara frantic, she was always caring for me but if you annoy her too long she will fight you in a heartbeat. “No nothing major just you know visiting some family for a while, ” I said as Jason goes to talk to out gym coach for us while we talk. ^family on the other side^

“But why all your family lives in New Orleans?”She asked. “No not all of them I have am Aunt who lives in Maryland,”I lie.^Ooohh lying you your best friend when you know it’s your last time to see her how pityful^

“How long is a while? Wait are you sure cause Hop–”

“Look it doesn’t matter what Hope says or doesn’t I am nor Hope nor will I ever be.  I am just going away for some time and to answer your how long question. I am not sure but I will come back ok?” I lie. *Thou I hate lying to them it is necessary for their own good. She doesn’t need to know, I am just a burden her parents don’t even like me as they prefer Hope. Once again Hope wins The Voices in my head win. But soon it won’t matter I am ending this soon maybe in the next life I will be happier. *

“Plus I am going cause of family issues something happened with Hope and they think it’s best I go away for a while. just for two weeks,“ I said then took out her letter. ” Here in two days open this letter if I don’t tell you everything that’s going on OK? But you gotta promise me that you won’t tell Jason, I will tell him later on in the day okay.“ She nodded. I wanted to tell her more. Tell her everything but I knew if I did then she would try to convince me not too which wouldn’t help anyone.

“Hey,” said Jason poking my cheek and breaking me from my thoughts. “Huh,” I turn to face then but both of then have confusion written on their face.“Sorry just thinking of when we are going for the trip,” I said acting excited.

“Are you sure?” said Kara death staring me in the eyes and poking my chest. “Yes, Kara I am 100% sure now stop poking me,” I said moving away from her so she nor Jason can poke me. Jason frowns while Kara fake cries. “Oh hey guys,” said Hope as she joins us. We haven’t talked ever since she came into my room last week, which I am grateful for but sadly she decided to hang out with Kara, and Jason. I don’t get how someone can be so fake. She acts like we never had a problem with each other in the first place.*^I do it’s just like how you’re being fake about killing yourself^ Ignoring the voice to best I can I focus on what it in front of me. Jason and Kara are laughing at some joke Hope said. *Jason, kara I am going to miss you two so much but this is for your own good you guys can’t be doing this to you guys, pulling you into my life no point punishing you guys for my sins and mistakes.* I thought.^Yet here you are still in their lives hurry up ^

“Yeah I  just a lot on my mind,” I said leaning onto him. Jason, Kara and I always had this kind of relationship. Always caring and supporting each other.  *It doesn’t matter now does it. It’s too later be thinking about that, not like things will get better or something.* I thought as we were about to enter the cafeteria when Kara was called for early dismissal.^finally your thinking like me so why don’t you finish it ^ I felt like another person was in the room whispering this in my ears, but guess what I am falling for it.

I pull Kara in for a hug, not a side hug like I normally do but a full one. I take in her scent as she wraps her arms around me. She smells like strawberries and banana. I felt happy in her arms as her body heat radiates onto me.I felt at peace, nothing could make me mad, or want to cry, the bad thoughts went away. I was at peace and happy, but like all good stuff, it must come to an end  "See you tomorrow,“ she said as we let go then ran off. I felt tears prick my eyes. “Come Canary time food,” Jason puts his arm around me as we went over to the lunch line.^Yeah get your last meal before you pass^ said Voice, might as well give it a name since it will with me till my end.

——————————-Time skip bros end of the school day ———————

I took a deep breath as I walk over to the outside bench with Jason, my crush, behind me. “Hey, are you OK?” He said as he places our stuff down and takes a seat. “ Yeah Just haven’t been getting the best sleep,” I sorta lie.^liar liar death on fire ^

The truth is that I try not to sleep at all and use coffee creamer to stay up planning my end and writing my goodbye letters. Half of my goodbyes are finished. And I already choose the outfit I am going to wear. Just cause I am going to die doesn’t mean I cannot be happy as I do it. But mostly it’s because at night I have nightmares and I wake up screaming which annoys the living hell out of everyone at home, one way to not annoy them is to not sleep ya know.

“So when do you want me to come over for Ms.Greene’s. Project ?”

“Oh right about that—”. ^You can’t cause I am going to kill myself ^ I shake my head trying to get those word out of my head.

“Let me guess I can’t cause of family issues and you cannot come to my house cause Your not allowed out the house for reasons your not telling me,” he said. I felt guilty for leaving him hanging so much lately. We have been best friends since pre-k. We used to play with the building blocks as Marcel would take us to the playground. I sigh as Jason rubs the back of his neck.”What is up with you ever since Kara and I have been hanging out with Hope and you got your leg hurt you have just been so distant

“Look Jason I know I normally tell you everything but honestly. I think I just need some space,” I said. I grew cold with every word I said to him. I am not sure if it was because of the cold but I knew it was most likely for the best. ^You’re going to die soon don’t make it harder for us ^ said Voice in my head.

“So are you still gonna come to my basketball game today after school right?” His eyes lighted. I  wanted to yes so I can see crush the  other team.“ No, I won’t I got to head to the Quarter house,” I said to him. His smile disappears from his face.

“B-but you always come to them so we can have Ice cream,” I take a deep breath .*I wish we could do that forever * I thought as I took his hand in mine  "Look Jason I know we always do that but I can’t this time —“

“Ahh  Y/n there you are.  ” I said Uncle Elijah and Hope. I quickly let go of Jason’s hand and put my hands on my crutches. * shoot I forgot Uncle Elijah was picking me and Hoe I mean Hope up* I thought as Jason picks up his books. I opened my mouth to talk him but he was already walking away. “I will finish Ms.Greene’s  project on my own. let you have some Space,” he spat out the words like daggers then disappeared in the distance between us.

I place my stuff in my backpack, slipped it on and went to Uncle Elijah and Hope beginning our trek to the house.

I pull out my iPod and headphones and start listening to ‘work out’ by j cole. He is one of Jason and I favorite singers. We walked together for thirty-five minutes before Uncle Elijah actually talks to me. Hope is on Uncle Elijah back since she got tired ten minutes ago from walking.

*honestly Uncle Elijah the Little shit can walk on her own  * I thought and continued walking thinking about Jason and I’s relationship if still even have one after today. ^what is there to think about it’s over and you ruined it ^ I felt my heart churn at her voice. *shut it voice*

———————————————————————————————————————-

It’s been two hours since we got home and so far, it’s just been Mom and sperm donner yelling at each other about something that is most likely about Hope or some ‘new enemy ’. I sigh as hear another vase slams my door again. *Uncle Elijah going to yell * I thought. At first, when they occurred I was scared out of my mind, but now I am used to it it doesn’t matter.

^Honestly, what is there for me to worry about. I am not gonna be here in the future so I am fine Right? Why don’t you just pick up a knife and slit your throat no one will notice your dead until the deed is done^. I hugged my pillow closer to my chest and pushed the hollow feeling into the back of my mind. I found these thoughts popping up in my head more often lately. Maybe it was bound to happen you know. ^So what are you gonna go^ said the voice.

I get off of my bed and walk over to my closet, get into my good bye clothes (https://www.polyvore.com/my_good_bye/set?id=215314515), my wonder woman hat on top. I grab my birthday money and Uncle Elijah old phone which he let me have, doesn’t have a sim card but it still works, and the directions to place. I grab the rest of the letters I need to give and put them in my backpack. “Now the major problem getting out of this house,” I said until it finally hit me.

I took off all of my bed sheets, which were a lot by the way, off from the bed then threw them out the window. I placed them in a way that they fall one on top of another. I took the pillow cases off of my pillows and threw them down as well. I tossed out my crutches. *I Hope I survive * I thought as I balance standing on the edge of the window. I pull the pillows to my chest and do the leap of faith from assassin’s creed, but it was kinda hard to do with my hurt leg. I groan as I hit the ground even though I made a pile it still hurt. I grabbed my crutches and struggled to get off of the blankets. Once that was over, head straight for Rousseau (Marcel and Cami’s bar). By the time I got there Cami’s shift was hadn’t begun yet thankfully. The room was full of people. I was about to take a seat when ” Y/n what are you doing here,“ said Marcel after I nearly have a heart attack. Thou would kill me it’s not the way I want to go.

“Oh hey Marcel, how are you?” I said giving him a fake smile but I knew he wasn’t falling for it.“Nice try Y/n ” he said as we take a seat at a nearby table. “So mind telling me what you are doing here?” “I wanted to give this to you,” I said taking out the letters for him and Cami. “They are thank you letters for you and Cami. I wasn’t able to give Jason his either so can you give it to him? ,” I place them onto the table and slide it over to him. “I was hoping to see both of you here. but since Cami isn’t here can you please give this to her?” I query.

He nods his head and takes the letters. I fight the tears and smile that threaten to break my heartless facade, but I couldn’t help but smirk at knowing those who I truly care about knowing how I feel about them. But as soon as it came it went.“So mind telling me what you are doing giving this to me,” he asked. *Oh Uncle Marcel even thou I didn’t say it a lot to you ‘I love you ’ you may not be blood but you are no water* I thought as I give him a smile. “No Uncle Marcel just a simple thank you letter were supposed to write and deliver one to those who you love,” I said getting up from the table and left Rousseau, leaving Marcel alone looking at the letters.

 _________________________time skip arrival death place_______________

“Finally” passing the entrance of the local indoor pool. No one was here other than me. I passed the locker area and went to the pool. *Huh the little shit is about to do it finally. Thought you were gonna plague the world some more. I don’t see why you are here still you made it this far let’s do it shall we* I wanted to fight the voice but I knew it was no choice. The reason I chose the pool was because of it the one place that no one would look for me.

When I was young Jason and I would come here with Cassandra Winchester sometimes we all would just play on the not deep side of the pool, but we stopped once she left for a mission and never came back. I highly doubt Jason even remembers this place. No one else knows about this place since I never told anyone about it. The light from the water light up the entire room so it wasn’t dark. I didn’t take off my shoes or jewelry since they all had meant something to me. I walk over to the deep side of the pool that was 7ft. “Goodbye life,” I said then dropped into the water.

The cold temperature pricked my skin but I didn’t let it bother me as I sank to the bottom. My vision was blurry but I wasn’t sure whether it was because of the water or lack of oxygen. I felt my body slowly sink close to the pools floor*Finally this is it. You free now you don’t have to burden others with your presence.* I thought as black spots blur my vision. I suddenly felt more tired than usual. *maybe a good rest* I slowly close my eyes and release the all the air in my lungs as darkness kills me.

_________Third POV at home_______________time past____________ _____________________________________________________________

No one notices how Y/n has jumped from her bedroom window over Klaus’s screaming. Kol rolls his eyes as his brother talks about how high and mighty he now that he is a hybrid. “Dear Brother Niklaus might you please stop screaming before Hope wakes up,” said Elijah Pouring himself a drink of whiskey. “Klaus opens his mouth to say more but nothing comes out. He storms out of the house slamming the door in his rage making Hope stir in her sleep. “Well that was dramatic,” said Hayley walking into the living room with a tea in her hand. “Has anyone ever told you that is how this family works,” said Cami sitting down next to her. “Cami doesn’t your shift start soon,” said Elijah, Cami chokes on her drink then runs out the room to get to work.

“Mommmmyyyy!!!!!!” Screamed Hope, the Originals immediately run to her side. She was inside her sister’s room with a letter in her hand. Tears ran down her cheeks as Hayley comforts her child. “Hope what’s wrong?“Said, Elijah, while taking the letter out of her hands. He nearly passes out from what he reads.“There is one in everyone’s room” Hope stuttered holding onto her mother. Elijah hands the letter to Kol, who just stared dead at the letter noticing Y/n’s handwriting, Elijah walks out the room and quickly collects all the other letters.

“Hope what happened?” said Kol trying not to be angry after reading Hope’s letter.

“Y/n is committing suicide,” she said.

Everyone froze upon hearing this. That one of their loved ones was willing to take their own life and no one knew why or how she would scream in her pillow at night or how she tried not to sleep til the point she naturally has insomnia. “Why would she do that?” Asked Freya.

“Why wouldn’t she, you always favor Hope more than her. You didn’t even notice that she was kidnapped,” said Kol glaring at him family “Brother do we—” “STOP BLOODY LYING. DO YOU EVEN REMEMBER HER MIDDLE NAME OR THE LAST TIME YOU LET HER CHOOSE FOR HER BIRTHDAY,” screamed Kol. “You ignore her cause she is human. Cause she isn’t as powerful as Hope. Yet you forget that you were once the same as her but at least we had someone who noticed and cared at least we had each other,” said Kol. “Rebekah,” he said pointing to her “ you have been begging for a human in this family and when we finally have one you ignore the girl”. Rebekah opens her mouth but no words come out.

“Aaahh and the mother,” he said turning to Hayley. “You wondered about how you treated both of them so badly, but guess what you did even worse you only cared for one,” he spats. Hayley glares at Kol but knows deep down is words are completely right. She never once thought about what Y/n would want to do for her birthday or how she would drink coffee in the morning. “You people may not care for her but I do and I won’t let you people be the reason of her death,” said Kol, storming out the house. Everyone one froze upon hearing these words. The thought of Y/n finally ringing in their heads. Hope dries her her eyes and pulls her mom into a hug.

The despair was too great that you could cut it with a knife. “I will begin a locator spell,” Freya walks out the door with Y/n’s necklace to begin the spell. Rebekah follows silently out of the house. “Elijah w–"Hayley opens her mouth to ask him a question when she already knows the answer. ‘Was Y/n ever treated like Hope’. They all knew the answer is ‘No’. “ Hope honey its time for bed, ” said Hayley.“ Uncle Elijah will look for Y/n and by tomorrow we will have her back I promise she will be back alive,” Hayley pulls hee daughter in for a hug, Elijah leaves the room but not after placing all the remaining letters on Y/n’s desk before leaving. Hope nods her head and gets ready for bed by herself for the first time in her life. Her mother asked if she needed help, but she denied it and continued on her own. "Mommy you should go find Y/n I will be fine,” Hayley nods and follows her request and leaves the house.

The Spark Next Door

Thanks to @jayankles for the graphic!

Summary: There’s always been a spark between you and the guy next door; when life takes a rough turn, things between you accelerate.
Pairing: Jensen x Reader
Word Count: 4450 (without lyrics)
Warnings: Trigger warning: Short assault scene; language, drinking. Mostly fluff-type stuff, despite the warnings.
Challenge: Kari’s Favorites Challenge with the trope of “Neighbors AU” and Bronwyn’s Double Birthday Challenge where my prompt was Sparks Fly by Taylor Swift. (I can’t be the only one who thinks of certain green eyes when you hear that song!) @thing-you-do-with-that-thing @jpadjackles

Your name: submit What is this?

“Let me guess - you need me to kill a spider?”

“That was one time, Ackles, and that spider was huge!”

Your neighbor flashed you an adorable smile, and you managed to keep the blush off your cheeks this time. His smile always reached his to-die-for green eyes, making you go weak at the knees. Jensen was nearly eight years your senior, the owner of a very successful brewery in town, and, even with the banter that had begun when you moved into the house next door after your grandmother passed away, you knew there was nothing more than friendship between the two of you.

With a soft laugh that made your stomach flip, he stepped out onto the porch and asked what he could help you with.

“My friend Kari brought her car over – needed the oil changed and whatnot. I’m trying to change out the oil filter now, but it won’t budge.”

Kari was leaning against the hood of the car, but straightened up quick when she saw you coming back to the driveway with Jensen.

“Hi, I’m Kari,” she introduced. You envied her confidence sometimes; it had taken Jensen coming to offer help to you and your brother on move-in day for you to even think about approaching him. “Thanks for coming to help.”

“Jensen, nice to meet you. Happy to help.”

He took the oil filter wrench from you and got to work. You and Kari sat on the porch while he worked, talking about hair and makeup, and before you knew it, the tune up job was done.

“You didn’t have to finish the job,” you said, “I really appreciate that!”

“Not a problem, sunshine,” Jensen assured, wiping the sweat from his face with a greasy rag. “Anytime. How’d you get roped into doing this anyway?”

Before you could answer, Kari interjected. “She’s got a hot date tonight, and I told her I would help her get ready if she would help fix up my car. It pays to have a friend whose dad and brothers taught her a thing or two.”

Your friend headed inside then, and you walked Jensen back over to his house. He asked about your date, and you told him about the guy from work you’d had your eye on for a while.

“He finally noticed me, I guess,” you shrugged. “I’m trying not to get my hopes up about it too much. I’m a hopeless romantic, and my head runs away with my heart sometimes. Or is it the other way around? Well, whatever it is – just keeping things low-key tonight.”

Jensen agreed that was a good plan. “Just make sure he treats you right, Y/N.”

“I’m sure he will,” you assured. “Thanks again for your help with the car!”

“No problem. I’ll be at the brewery tonight. Bring Mr. Wonderful in, I’ll get you guys a round on the house.”

With a thank you and a playful wink in Jensen’s direction, you headed back to your place to shower and get ready for your date.

Bryan was handsome, tall, successful – and apparently was well aware of the fact. Once the two of you got to dinner, he was no longer the nice guy from work you chatted and joked with every now and then. He was down right full of himself, and you couldn’t wait for dinner and the movie to be over so you could get home and never think about him again.

He had other plans, apparently. Once the two of you got back in his car, he immediately leaned over the console and pressed his lips to yours. The kiss was rough and sloppy, and not a gesture you wanted to be a part of in the first place. The whole night was turning out to be a disappointment, but now you were borderline disgusted.

“Look, I just want to go home, all right?” you told Bryan when you were finally able to push him away.

He snorted. “Oh, please. The other girls have told me how hot you’ve been for me. This is your only chance, Y/N. Sure you want to pass on it?”

Who the hell did he think he was? God’s gift, clearly. With a roll of your eyes, you got out of the car. You didn’t need him. You could call a friend or one of your brothers or even a cab to get home.

You were just a few feet down the sidewalk when Bryan caught up to you and gripped your arm so tightly, you yelped. Of course, the two of you were parked so far out in the lot, there was no one around to help you. You’d have to make a break for it if he was going to be this crazy.

“Let me go!” you demanded.

Bryan squeezed tighter. “You’re nothing special, you know that? Girls like you are a dime a dozen. But if you think I’m gonna let you go back to work and tell them anything about tonight, you’ve got another thing coming.”

“I don’t want to tell anyone anything, I just want to go home!”

“After you give me what I took you out to get.”

He started to drag you back towards the car, but you dug your heels in and refused to move your feet. Bryan’s open hand came down hard across your face, shocking you momentarily, until you saw red. He was facing you now, and one hard, swift kick to the family jewels loosed his hold on you and brought Bryan to the ground, writhing in pain.

Your cheek stung like a bitch, and your feet was sore by the time you walked the five blocks to Jensen’s brewery. Constantly looking over your shoulder, expecting Bryan to be right behind you at any moment, got you to your destination in record time.

It would have been easier, you supposed, to go back into the theater and call a friend or your brothers or a cab. Your brothers would have gone to jail after hunting Bryan down, though, and any of your friends would have made it into far more drama than you wanted to deal with just then. That left the cab, but you didn’t want to go home and be alone, either.

So here you were, standing at the bar of the brewery with bruises forming on your arm and face. Tear stains formed streaks from your eyes to your jaw. You found an open spot at the corner of the bar against the wall; you didn’t see Jensen immediately, so you sent him a text. If he didn’t answer in a few minutes, you’d ask someone to track him down for you.

Are you still at work? I’m sitting at the bar.

You wanted to somehow warn him of your current state, but you didn’t know how to word it. A minute after you sent the text, Jensen appeared from the back. He spotted you instantly. His smile turned to a look of concern, and he made a beeline for where you were sitting.

“What the hell happened?” Jensen asked, his voice laced with the same concern in his expression, plus a touch of anger.

Your chin quivered and your eyes watered all over again. Being here, with someone familiar, was the relief of safety; for that reason, you couldn’t stop yourself from crying. Jensen took your hand and told you to follow him to the back. He led you to his office, sat you in his comfy desk chair, and told you he would be right back.

By the time Jensen returned, you had composed yourself. He handed you an opened bottle of your favorite beer, then carefully set an ice pack against your face.

“Wanna tell me what happened?” Jensen asked, this time much more calm than his initial inquiry.

You bit your bottom lip. “Mr. Wonderful turned out to be Mr. Not-So-Wonderful.”

Jensen nodded as though he had figured as much. “Just your face?”

“He slapped my face,” you explained. “And he grabbed my arm.”

Jensen gently rolled up your sleeve to inspect your arm. It was already bruising, but there wasn’t much ice could do for you there. At least on your face, it kept the swelling down.

“What do you wanna do?” Jensen asked.

“I just want to go home, but I don’t want to be alone. And I don’t want to make a crazy big deal out of this.”

Jensen caressed the uninjured side of your face before leaning back on the desk. He must have been considering whether or not to go with what you wanted, or make you call the police.

“All right. Stay here. Give me ten minutes, then I’ll take you home.”

You nodded and kept the ice on your face. The stinging had turned to a burn, so the ice was soothing. It had started to melt and you were dropping the bag into the trash can when Jensen returned.

“Sorry,” he said sheepishly. “Had to rearrange some things.”

You were suddenly self-conscious. “Jensen, you didn’t have to do that for me …”

“I did,” he replied quickly. “I mean, you’re my friend and you came to me for help. C’mon, sunshine. Let’s get you home.”

As you followed Jensen out to his truck, you thought about what he had said. It had never occurred to you that the two of you were more than neighbors and acquaintances, but Jensen saying the two of you were friends certainly made you feel less regretful about going to him for help. That didn’t mean, of course, that you didn’t try to explain yourself the moment you were seated in the passenger seat.

“It’s just that my brothers would have been way pissed, and Kari would have made it a bigger deal than it needed to be. I just wanted to go home and be safe.”

“I can understand that. We’ll handle this your way, but for the record, that doesn’t mean this isn’t a big deal or that I’m not pissed. You don’t deserve to be treated that way – nobody does.”

The rest of the ride home was silent. Jensen parked his truck in his driveway, then asked for your house key.

“I’ll go in first. Can’t be too careful.”

You had no problem with that. Never in your life had you been treated the way Bryan had treated you, and it scared you shitless, quite frankly. Having Jensen there was a welcome comfort.

“I think you’re good,” he said, handing back the key. You placed it in your purse, which you went to put in your room.

When you came back, Jensen was still standing near the doorway, looking somewhat nervous. You cleared your throat.

“I don’t think I’ll sleep tonight. Have you eaten? I’ll cook for you,” you offered.

“I ate.” He finally pulled his hands from his pocket. “I don’t want to make you uncomfortable with what you’ve been through tonight, but I don’t really want you to be alone. Somehow next door doesn’t seem close enough.” He chuckled, nervously. “If you want me to crash on the couch or stay up with you, I will. Or we can go to my place. Whatever will make you feel safe.”

You breathed a sigh of relief. “I wasn’t sure how to bring that up, so thanks for doing it for me. I’m gonna take a shower, then maybe we can watch a movie or something?”

Jensen nodded. “Sounds good.”

You disappeared into the bathroom with your favorite fluffy towel, and started the water as hot as you could stand it. You cried a little again, just from the emotions of what had happened, when washing your tender face brought everything rushing back as though it had happened just a few minutes ago, and not an hour or so. You wrapped up your shower pretty quick, dressed in sweats and a tank top, and went back out to the living room.

Jensen was sitting on the couch, playing on his phone. He looked up at you and smiled. “Feeling a little better?”

“A little,” you nodded. “You changed?”

“Yeah, ran home real quick while you showered. Grabbed a six pack of locals, too.”

You smirked when he handed you a longneck of beer from his brewery. It was pretty delicious, so you took a good long drink after that initial sip to taste.

You answered Kari’s text message about how the date had went while Jensen debated between a couple of funny movies for the two of you to watch. You kept your answer relatively vague, but promised to tell her the whole story at work the next day.

Thanks to half the six-pack and the shock wearing off, you were asleep before the movie was over. Without realizing it, you dozed off against Jensen’s shoulder. He covered you with the comforter you had dragged out from your bedroom, switched from the DVD player to the TV, and fell asleep with an arm around placed protectively around you.

When the two of you woke the next morning, stretched out on the couch together, your cheek against Jensen’s chest, you were only a little embarrassed. A potentially anxiety-and-paranoia-filled night had turned into a quiet, comforting evening. You got up and made a pot of coffee before dressing for work. As you got ready, you were quiet as you could be so you didn’t wake Jensen until you needed to leave.

“Hey,” you said softly, sitting next to him. “I’m leaving for work. You can stay as long as you want, just lock the door on your way out.”

Jensen nodded and made you promise to be careful before falling asleep again. It was strange in a very pleasant way to leave a man you didn’t know extremely well but felt so safe and familiar with asleep on your couch.

When you got to work and told Kari the whole story, she made about as big of a deal out of it as you expected, but you quickly shushed her.

“I don’t want a lot of people to know, all right? I’m not embarrassed I just – I don’t want to talk about it. And other people are liable to talk anyway.”

Kari didn’t like it, but she promised to keep quiet. Your workday went on as usual, until Bryan found you sometime after lunch.

“Hey Y/N,” he greeted, as though nothing had happened. “I really enjoyed last night.”

You rolled your eyes and otherwise ignored him. He made himself comfortable; you used all of your willpower not to make eye contact. Your heart was racing. Not even twenty-four hours ago, this same smiling, pleasant man had slapped you across the face and would have likely done far worse if you hadn’t gotten away.

“I will have you, you know,” Bryan said, leaning forward so that anyone passing by wouldn’t be able to hear him. “I always get what I want. I’m sure you still want me – no one lets go that easily.”

Thanks God for Kari, who had been checking on you periodically throughout the day as it was. She frowned when she saw Bryan talking to you, but the moment he spotted her, he simply winked at you and left.

“What was that about?” Kari asked.

Attempting not to have a panic attack, you went ahead and told her what Bryan had said.

“You can’t keep on with this, Y/N,” she said sternly. “Sounds like last night was just the start. If he isn’t taking a kick to the junk as a hint, Lord knows what he is capable of.”

You ran a hand through your hair. “I know.”

“Please, at least go talk to the boss. Get yourself or Bryan re-assigned so you don’t have to see him.”

You hated the idea of being a victim – that was part of the humiliation of all of this. Kari was right though. With her encouragement, you went right to the boss’s office and spilled the whole story.

Your boss sighed. “I’m sympathetic with you, Y/N, really. Unfortunately, as the incident happened away from company property, our policy is not to get involved.”

“You’re kidding?!”

She leaned forward on her desk. “Without a restraining order of some kind, my hands are tied.”

You nodded, feeling full confidence for the first time that day. “Fine. Then I am officially handing in my resignation. I’m sorry, but I can’t work in an unsafe environment.”

She didn’t bother calling you back to her office or anything; for that reason, you were even more comfortable with your decision. Another job would come along and until then, well, you would figure things out.

You weren’t going to be a victim of this thing that had happened to you.

Kari offered to cancel her date that night to hang out with you, but you assured her you would be fine. It was clearly all for the best, and you had some things to figure out, anyway.

It didn’t help that the easiest distraction from your problems was your neighbor’s green eyes and devastating smile. When you thought about the way he had cared for you the night before, how protective he had been, you got butterflies in your stomach. The idea embarrassed you only a little; surely he wasn’t into younger women. Whatever had gone on last night had been because you were friends, like Jensen said.

That didn’t stop you from putting on your most casually adorable outfit and driving over to the brewery. Jensen had texted you earlier in the day that he would be working the bar if you needed anything, and that planted the seed in your mind. Even if you didn’t expect anything to happen, it wouldn’t hurt to have a couple drinks while you ogled your crush. You know, to cheer yourself up.

The smile he gave you when you took a seat at the bar erupted even more butterflies in your stomach. You gave a little wave and smiled bigger when he came over to see you.

“Your face looks better,” Jensen commented.

“Wow, thanks,” you teased him.

Jensen laughed. “You know what I mean. What’ll be?”

“Same we had last night, please. I really liked that.”

“Ah, my favorite.” He filled a pint glass and set it in front of you. “Not too much. You’ve got to work in the morning.”

You shook your head as you drank down a good portion of the beer. “I quit.”

Jensen’s eyes went wide, but you explained about Bryan’s remarks and your boss’s reaction. When you were done telling the whole thing, he said he was proud of you.

“I’m glad you stood up for yourself.”

“Even if your friend is an unemployed loser now?” you snorted. It had been meant as a joke, but fell just shy of humor.

Jensen chucked you under the chin. “You’re not a loser, Y/N. I don’t care that you’re unemployed, but if you want, you can work here for a while, till you find something else.”

“Jensen, you don’t have to do that. You’ve helped me enough – more than enough.”

He shook his head. “I told you when you moved in next door that I was here to help with whatever you need, and I meant that. Now, you’ve already been drinking so you can’t start tonight. How about Monday?”

You could have hugged him across the counter, you were so excited. You agreed to meet him there Monday morning to get started.

“I find it interesting that he is so quick to help you all of the sudden,” Kari commented when she came over the next day. “Like after he found out you were dating someone.”

“I wasn’t dating someone, I went on a date with somebody and it turned out awful,” you corrected.

Kari rolled her eyes. “Not the point, Y/N/N.”

“Your point is invalid. Jensen had helped with a lot of things since I moved in.”

Kari nodded. “How many times before all of this did you two fall asleep on your couch together before all of this?”

You didn’t want to answer her. You knew what she was getting at, but if you allowed yourself to go there, even just in your mind, you were setting yourself up for disappointment. Just like that hadn’t stopped you from dressing cute and going to the brewery to see him when you needed cheering up, it didn’t stop you from dressing to impress to meet him Monday morning, either,

After giving you a full tour of the place, Jensen went through the office duties that would now be your responsibility. You had expected to be waiting tables or washing dishes; Jensen warned you there would be some of that but mostly you would be working as his office manager.

You sat on the counter of the bar while he put away glasses, teasing him about taking advantage of the new help, when he looked at you with an expression that fell somewhere between amused and curious.

“What if I did take advantage?” he asked.

Your smile quickly faded. “Seriously? Of me?”

Jensen set down the glass in his and moved closer to where you were sitting. He settled himself between your knees; you weren’t offended but … well, you weren’t exactly sure what you were feeling at that moment.

“I mean, not really take advantage of course,” Jensen clarified. That wasn’t something you were worried about, but you appreciated the effort. His fingers pushed your hair behind your ear. “But I was already thinking about you probably way more than I should. Then everything went down with that guy, and you came to me. It got me thinking about more things I probably shouldn’t be thinking about.”

The uncertainty fell away and you knew exactly what you felt and exactly what you wanted. When Jensen’s hand carded into your hair before gently guiding your mouth towards his, a daydream you had indulged in time and time again became a reality.

When Jensen parted from you, he did so slowly; somehow, he must have known that you wouldn’t be able to hold yourself upright immediately after he broke that perfect kiss. A million things were running through your head. When you were able to form a coherent sentence again, you decided to just be honest with him.

“A few days ago, I had a date with a guy I’ve ha d my eye on for a while. It didn’t turn out so well.”

“I know,” he said softly, not moving from where he stood. His hands ran up and down your thighs, and the movement sent shivers up and down your spine.

Deep breath. “I’ve had a thing for you since I met you pretty much. With you being older than me, and my neighbor who helped me every now and then, I never expected anything to come of it. Then all of that happened, and now we’re sleeping on couches together and you’re telling me things and we’re kissing on your bar.”

“I know,” Jensen said again.

“Say something besides ‘I know’.”

He kissed you, a soft, chaste peck this time. “I don’t want to rush this. I don’t want you to be uncomfortable. I know it didn’t work out for you so well last time, getting the guy you wanted. But I want you too, Y/N. I want to get to know you better and be your best friend and take care of you. Maybe though, we can start with dinner tomorrow night? You know, a proper one. Kari can come over to help you get ready, I’ll put on some expensive cologne. That kind of thing.”

“I’d like that,” you said with a light laugh. “Thank you for understanding.”

Jensen nodded and helped you off the bar. “I’ve got you, sunshine.”

Monday and Tuesday were usually the days the brewery was closed, so that everyone could recover from the weekend. You and Jensen had gone in the day before so he could finish up the paperwork from the weekend and show you how things worked. With all of your nerves over your date that night, you appreciated that you had the day off.

With all of that nervous energy, you decided it would be a good day to deep clean the house before you had to get ready to go out with Jensen later that night. You opened the windows and let the early summer breeze air out the place.

Always careful about bothering the neighbors, you had your music quietly playing as you moved about the house. A lawn mower revved up outside in the early afternoon, so you turned up the volume on your music.

You were in a pair of jean cutoffs and a thin, loose tank top. No shoes on your feet, and your hair in a messy bun on your head. You’d washed your face that morning, but the glow of the sweat build-up from working in the house had added a sheen to your exposed skin.

Drop everything now
Meet me in the pouring rain
Kiss me on the sidewalk
Take away the pain
‘Cause I see, sparks fly, whenever you smile
Get me with those green eyes, baby
As the lights go down
Gimme something that’ll haunt me whenever you’re not around
‘Cause I see, sparks fly, whenever you smile

You didn’t care one bit about that when one of your guilty pleasure songs came on and you immediately thought of Jensen.

It didn’t matter that you were a mess or that you were going to see him later. You had something to tell Jensen, and you needed to tell him now.

You jogged out the front door, the screen slamming behind you. You looked over towards Jensen’s house and saw that he was the one mowing. He was shirtless, sweat dripping down his face and chest, and that only made your heart quicken. Summoning up the courage, you stood in front of the mower.

Jensen came to an abrupt stop and took the headphones from his ears. “Y/N, you all right?”

You nodded. “I know this must sound crazy, but I couldn’t wait until tonight to tell you. I want to get to know you better and be your best friend and take care of you, too. I don’t want to do this slow dating thing. I want us to do this, for real.”

He stood to the side of the mower. “You sure?”

“As sure as I’ve ever been of anything. I’ve spent way too long just being the girl next door. I want to be your girl.”

Jensen grinned. The connection between the two of you became magnetic; you met in the middle of the distance between you. Jensen pulled you up into his arms, and your legs wrapped around his hips. You pressed your mouth hard against Jensen’s, but forming that pucker to kiss him was difficult.

All you could do in that moment was smile.
