—————————————————————————————————————————–

Tony Starks annual Christmas party is a tedious task for someone who’s uncomfortable with crowds. It’s loud, crowded, hot and filled with drunk people. I’m not saying I don’t like Tony’s parties, I just prefer the smaller get togethers. I like the parties when they’ve died down a bit, when everyone’s left and the team is just left sitting around the coffee table on the couches, talking comfortably.

I’m sitting comfortably, secluded in a corner, when suddenly a shadow is blocking some of the light.

“Hello, (Y/N).” I hear a gentle voice from above me. I look up to find a smiling Bruce Banner.

“Oh, Bruce, hi!” I say, returning his smile. “Sorry about that.”

“No need to apologize.” He says, chuckling softly.

“I see you’ve found my ‘party avoidance’ corner.” I say, gesturing to the space around me.

“Oh? I didn’t know this was your corner.” He says, looking around the relatively empty space. “I have to say, it is a pretty nice corner.”

“You didn’t really think you were the only one to dislike large social gatherings, did you?” I say, taking a sip of the amber liquid in my glass. “You’re welcome to share the corner if you want.”

“I might have an even better idea.” He says, a somewhat mischievous glint in his eye.

“And what might that be?” I smirk at him.

“Just meet me downstairs in ten minutes. Bring a coat, maybe a pair of gloves and a hat too.” He starts to back into the hallway.

“Alright, see you then.” I smile at him and he nods awkwardly before turning on his heel and retreating down the corridor.
