Tool - Undertow

Two times in.

I’ve been struck dumb by a voice that
speaks, from deep beneath peerless water that’s,
twice as clear as heaven,
twice as loud as reason.
Deep and rich like silt on a riverbed,
just as neverending.
Current’s mouth below me;
opens up around me.
suggests and beckons all while swallowing.
Surrounds and drowns, and wipes me away.

But I’m so comfortable… So comfortable.

Shut up, shut up, shut up, shut up,
you’re saturating me.
How could I let this bring me,
back to my knees?

Third time in.

I’ve been baptized by your voice that,
screams, from deep beneath the cold black water that’s,
half as high as heaven,
half as clear as reason.
cold and black like silt on the riverbed.
Just as neverending.
Current’s mouth below me;
opens up around me.
Suggests and beckons all while swallowing.
Surrounds and drowns, and wipes me away.

But I’m so comfortable… So comfortable.

Shut up, shut up, shut up, shut up,
you’re saturating me.
How could I let this happen?

Why don’t you kill me?
I am weak and numb and insignificant,
How could I let this bring me back to my knees?

Eu…phor…ia. [x4]

I’m back down, I’m in the undertow.
I’m helpless and I’m awake, I’m in the undertow.
I’ll die beneath the undertow.
There doesn’t seem to be a way out of the undertow.

Eu..phor..ia.

- Swimming Lessons -

There are two things in Tsuna’s life he dislikes more than anything else. And unfortunately for him, both of these are constants. One is the bullies that chase him home, demand he hand over whatever his mother packs him for lunch, and beat him up if they decide he’s gotten a little too spirited lately.

The second is Tsuna’s no-good father, a man named Iemitsu that Tsuna really, really doesn’t like. His mom tells him to call him ‘dad’, and sings his praises about how wonderful he is, but surely if he were as wonderful as she claims, he’d be home more. He’d be a good dad to Tsuna, teach him how to read and write and spend time with him like other kids’ parents do.

He wouldn’t come home, drink until he’s asleep, and then drag Tsuna around like a rag doll and demand ‘father-son bonding’. He wouldn’t make Tsuna feel like an anxious, scatter-brained mess simply by being in the same room with him. But perhaps most certainly, he wouldn’t put Tsuna in danger every time he decides he needs to learn something.

“Today my boy, I’m going to teach you how to swim!”

Like that.

Smims Builds: Hydroid Revisited

Hydroid was reworked today, so that means updated builds, as per usual. With the rework, Hydroid has more internal synergy with his abilities, and he has a lot more utility in normal gameplay. In addition, his damage has been buffed so he can actually hold his own in higher level content using only abilities.

Before I continue, as I said last night, this will be the last build post before I move to a new format. That’s TBD, of course, but just know that it will happen.

  • I have 1 forma installed, and it’s to add a Vazarin(D) polarity.
  • Hydroid’s passive spawns a tentacle whenever you do a melee slam.
  • All of Hydroid’s abilities can be cast while using Undertow(3). Undertow also creates a DoT that gets stronger the longer an enemy is drowning underneath.
  • In addition, Tempest Barrage(1) and Tentacle Swarm(4) can be charged for more damage, more projectiles/tentacles, and more range.

Build A:

Build A is an all-around build, making use of all of Hydroid’s abilities. Corroding Barrage augment gives 100% corrosive procs per hit, making Tempest Barrage a very useful crowd skill.

Build B:

Build B makes use of the Pilfering Swarm augment, which doubles enemy drops if they are killed by Tentacle Swarm. A simple cast and forget, and loot behold.

Build C:

Build C is a supportive build, making use of the Curative Undertow augment, which heals allies that stand on it, and Tidal Impunity, which clears status effects and gives immunity.

Those are my builds for Hydroid, and since this is the last build post here, I’ll just say thanks for the support I’ve gotten, and that in the future these builds will be more organized, better explained, and have actual showcases.(!) See you then.

“John, I’ve realised something.”

“Oh, joyous day.” John said distractedly. “Shall I alert the media?”

Sherlock frowned. “Rude, John! I’m serious!”

With a sigh, John tore his eyes from the newspaper.

“Fine, Sherlock.” John sighs, preparing himself to endure another endless Sherlockian rant about bacteria or flesh wounds. “What is it?”

“You have ocean eyes.” Sherlock announces this in the same way that he would the results of an experiment. His own eyes glimmer and he looks eager to hear what John has to say on his findings. “Do you not agree?”

“Ocean…eyes…?” John shifts in his seat. “What do you…? What does that mean?"

Sherlock’s nose wrinkles as if John’s cluelessness has a foul odour. "Honestly?"

"What? Yes, honestly!"

"If someone says to you that you have ocean eyes,” Sherlock says. “Wouldn’t it at least allude to you that you must have eyes like the ocean?”

“The ocean doesn’t have eyes."

Sherlock sighs deeply, then pushes himself from his own chair and the crowds in front of John’s. "Your eyes, John,” The detective begins, and in this close proximity, his voice seems unmistakably intimate. “They aren’t common eyes, you’re the only person I know with deep blue eyes. Your eyes contain every blue you can only find while below the water’s surface. Your eyes are an abyss, an undertow. The colour that represents submergence, lack of oxygen."

It isn’t until Sherlock says ‘lack of oxygen’, that John realises he’s been holding his breath.

"Your eyes make sense,” Sherlock continues. “Because if I look into them long enough, I do feel like I’m drowning. The pressure on my chest, the breathlessness.” He pauses. “Do you understand now?"

John…has never had someone say anything like that to him at all. Never. He isn’t sure what to say now. What do you say to someone who’s just said that looking into your eyes takes their breath away?

“Dinner?” John’s voice cracks, Sherlock makes no note of it though. His eyes search John’s, and he feels breathless yet again.

“Yes.”

I’m always screaming my lungs out
till my head starts spinning.
Playing my songs is the way I cope with life.
Won’t keep my voice down.
Know the words I speak are the thoughts I think out loud.

I like to keep things honest.
I’m a safe bet like your life’s staked on it. For real.
I’d hate to keep you all wondering.
I’m constant like the seasons, and I will never be forgotten man.

Let’s leave no words unspoken
and save regrets for the broken.
Will you even look back when you think of me?

All I want is a place to call my own,
and mend the hearts of everyone who feels alone
Whoa
You know to keep your hopes up high and your head down low.
Keep your hopes up high and your head down low.

Still got something left to prove.
It tends to keep things moving.
While everyone around me says my last days are looming overhead
But just what the hell do they think they know?
I keep my head above the water while they drown in the undertow.

Let’s leave no words unspoken
and save regrets for the broken.
Will you even look back when you think of me?

All I want is a place to call my own,
and mend the hearts of everyone who feels alone
Whoa
You know to keep your hopes up high and your head down low.
All I want is a place to call my own,
and mend the hearts of everyone who feels alone
Whoa
You know to keep your hopes up high and your head down low.

If you take it from me,
Live your life for yourself.
Cause when it’s all said and done you don’t need anyone else.
Come on!

So let’s get back to when everything seemed perfect.
Not a worry in the world, tell me was this all worth it?
I get what I want, so everyone’s always judging me.
I’m not afraid of anything, and I’ve got the whole world in front of me.

All I want is a place to call my own,
and mend the hearts of everyone who feels alone
Whoa
You know to keep your hopes up high and your head down low
All I want is a place to call my own,
and mend the hearts of everyone who feels alone
Whoa
You know to keep your hopes up high and your head down low

Keep your head down low.
Keep your head down low.
Keep your hopes up high and your head down low.
