which she hasn't been for a while

  • The male benders in ATLA: Really good. They worked hard to get where they are skill wise and while it hasn't always been easy, they are capable and can hold their own in a fight. One of them was even the Avatar, which is pretty impressive since he mastered the elements at age twelve, rather than start learning at 16 like most Avatars.
  • The female benders in ATLA: Inarguably the most powerful and unmatched humans in the entire world. Prodigies, masters, and creators of subbending styles. One was compared in skill to the Fire Lord at age EIGHT and able to perform one of the rarest and most difficult forms by 14. She couldn't be defeated by another's (even the Avatar's) bending alone. Only faced defeat when fighting two other master benders while on the verge of a complete mental breakdown (officially being defeated by different female bender). Another held an entire city up by a single turret while standing on unstable ground, and then went on to invent her own bending style at the age of twelve. One mastered her element in mere WEEKS, mastered bloodbending and defeated the woman who INVENTED IT the FIRST TIME SHE EVER ATTEMPTED IT, held her own against a master waterbender without ANY TRAINING, and fully healed someone from a fatal wound, making her a master at two vastly different forms of waterbending at the age of 14. A female Avatar quite literally reshaped the planet and created her own ISLAND. AND MOVED IT ACROSS THE SEA. These women shown in the show are not only the most powerful and talented females in their universe, but also in almost any known piece of television or fiction, all while being completely fleshed out and complex characters, not being defined as nothing but 'strong'. Each has their own personality, strengths, and weaknesses.

Imagine Steve having nightmares after he comes out of the ice and someone suggests getting a dog to help with them, so he goes to the shelter but while he's there he sees a cat and is just drawn to her for some reason. She's a ragdoll mix but has some kind of food allergy which is why she hasn't been adopted. S gets her and she constantly needs attention & never leaves him alone. But is so sweet & whenever Steve has nightmares she's already there, rubbing against his face & helping to ground him

Service dogs were all the rage these days.

That was Steve’s sardonic thought as he walked into the shelter, but it wasn’t far from the truth. The problem was that service dogs were highly trained, very expensive, and well tracked. They needed to be certified and all of that for people like Steve, and he didn’t want the media getting a hold of the fact that he needed help. He was Captain America, after all. He needed to be strong of without weakness. He only wished he felt that way.

So this was the compromise, to be discreet and still get a furry creature who might be able to lower his blood pressure and at least be a presence when the nightmares reduced him to tears.

“Right, so, we wanted to show you Roxanne. She’s a German Shepherd and the sweetest thing you’ll ever meet.”

A low mewl caught Steve’s attention, but the woman leading him into the back seemed to not even hear it. He paused, glancing to his left and seeing a straggling cat about chest level. “Who’s this?”

The woman stopped, coming back a few paces. “Oh. That’s Mai Tai, but we all call her Maia. She’ll be put down next week, unfortunately.”

“Why, no one wants her?”

The woman shook her head. “We all adore her, but you know how they are about space. And no one will take her because she has special dietary needs and she has separation anxiety.”

Me too, Steve thought, remaining in his spot as the woman attempted to move them forward again. At least regarding the separation anxiety, but looking at Maia, he had clear memories of being a straggly kid with dietary needs to be considered. No one ever gave up on him… shouldn’t he pay that forward? “I’ll take her.”

“She has severe allergies to certain kinds of protein in cat foods. And she’s really quite needy.”

“I’ll take her,” Steve repeated, and thirty minutes later, he was walking out with the creature in a carrying crate while it meowed loudly.

She earned her keep the very first night, waking Steve up to the feeling of her claws kneading into his chest. She woke him with the gesture before he even completely realized he was having another nightmare, and she was quick to ground him, purring on top of his chest until he was lulled back to sleep.

While I understand that you are the midst of a powerful infatuation, now would be a good time to make sure Danny hasn't been taken by the local evil vampire cult.

She was in my lit class so I’m sure she’s fine. She’s… Not really talking to me right now… Which reminds me, I gotta work on this paper.

  • what she says: i'm fine
  • what she means: is chris kendall ok? he was uploading for a while consistently while he was working on oscar's hotel and then he uploaded a video titled 25 Facts About Me on June 22, 2015 in which he explicitly stated that he was bisexual, then from then on the only time he has been seen in relation to youtube is at conventions such as vidcon and summer in the city. furthermore, he hasn't tweeted since August 15, 2015, over ten days ago. is he alright? is he going through another rough patch mentally? or is he just busy with other things, such as working with pj liguori on oscar's hotel?
