which is why i slack on making things for this show

things I love about Steve Trevor
  • He makes sure he actually thanks Diana for pulling him out of the water
  • The only time he ever expresses doubt to Diana about any of her beliefs is when he’s trying to convince her not to jeopardize the mission by killing Ludendorff, and even then it’s a hypothetical (“what if”)
    • He also does after she kills Ludendorff but that’s after her belief is shattered so I don’t really count it
  • He is so duty-bound I love him so much no wonder he and Diana got along so well
  • He just. Wants the people around him to be happy? The scene after they rescue Veld always kills me, and two parts in particular:
    • When Charlie starts playing piano and singing and Steve says “I haven’t heard him sing in years…” and his face is all soft and you can see the shadow of a smile tugging at his lips but you can also see all the sadness in his eyes from those years of him not singing
    • And when he’s dancing with Diana and it starts to snow and she looks up and is so confused and delighted and he’s like “it’s snow… go on, touch it” and she does (also she has to let go of his hand to do it and he still encourages her to? such a small thing but oh man my heart) and he looks at her with such heart eyes
    • Honestly Chris Pine played him so well, so much complex emotion depicted even when he’s not speaking, like jfc well done
  • I love the boat scene, partly because it’s just fucking hilarious but mostly because their conversation is so respectful. She tells him she was sculpted from clay and brought to life by the breath of Zeus and his reaction is just to raise his eyebrows and say “Well, that’s neat.”
    • I know that could read as sarcastic but it doesn’t to me at all. It’s funny, sure, but he isn’t making fun of her. It’s genuine and kind, even when what she’s saying is fairly unbelievable.
    • Just the entire way they speak in this scene… He never adopts that Mansplaining Tone™ that is so common, even when he’s actually explaining things. He talks because he wants to share information. It’s a cultural exchange, and I loved it.
  • After Veld, when they’re sitting and watching the villagers dance, he just quietly says, “You did this.” and she’s the one who smiles at him and says, “We did this.” He has so much respect for her and it kills me inside because it’s not “We did this” originally (which could be him pointing out that they’re a good team, him saying they have things in common, or a thousand other things), it’s just “You did this,” because he just wants her happy. He wants her to recognize how goddamn impressive she is. There is no agenda to what he said and it fucks me up
  • The entire scene with the kiss. Like, I’m gay as hell, usually I hate this kind of thing because it feels so unnecessary, but this was so well done I’m genuinely glad it was included
    • When he escorts her up to a room he then starts to leave. Even with all of that tension he doesn’t want to assume that she wants anything to happen.
    • So he has his hand on the door and he starts to back out of the room and he hesitates just long enough for her to turn around and meet his gaze. And even then he’s reading that as a sign that she wants him in the room so he steps forward and closes the door behind her and then looks up again to confirm that’s what she wanted. And even after that, he crosses over to her so slowly and lets her be the one to actually initiate the kiss.
    • He gives her a thousand and one chances to change her mind, to give him a small indication that she’s uncomfortable or doesn’t want it to happen, and it’s only once she lets all of those chances pass that they kiss.
    • Consent-based relationships, man. Fuck me up.
  • Speaking of consent… the scene after Diana returns to Veld and sees the gas has killed everyone fucks me up
    • Steve’s followed her there and is clearly freaked the fuck out because she’s just gone and he physically can’t go in to try to find her because of the gas
    • So when she comes out he’s so visibly relieved and he goes forward and puts his hands around her face, clearly wanting to kiss her, and she shoves him away and says “stay away from me.” and he does.
    • He lets her be furious and devastated and overwhelmed because he knows what it’s like to feel powerless and I think he is genuinely sorry he contributed to her feeling this much pain. He lets her say she’s angry, he lets her blame him, he lets her grieve and doesn’t stop her when she leaves him there.
    • Not only does he not stop her, he sees the smoke from Chief’s fire and yells to her to follow it because he had followed Ludendorff. Their argument from the ballroom still isn’t resolved - she wants to just kill him and be done with it, Steve wants that to wait so they can focus on stopping the gas - but he recognizes that this is her choice and even after she’s basically just blamed an entire village’s deaths on him (and on herself) he tries to help her carry it out.
  • So after Diana’s killed Ludendorff and the war is still going on and Steve runs up to find her, he’s so visibly relieved that she’s alive and (like after Veld) goes to kiss her but backs away without her doing anything because he realizes the “stay away from me” thing has never been explicitly lifted. She might still want nothing to do with him and he respects that.
    • He does touch her a couple times after this but it’s always brief, I think it continues only because she didn’t react negatively the first time, and like they’re in the middle of a fucking war and I think Steve’s about 900% convinced that they’re all going to die so I’m gonna cut him a little slack here.
  • They have that “argument” again, where Diana says “this should have stopped, I killed him, why is this still going on” and instead of saying I told you so Steve just tries to get her to move on and help him save other people.
    • When he says “maybe it’s us! maybe we’re to blame!” (meaning not Ares) and she says that (obviously) she isn’t to blame, he doesn’t hesitate, he just says “but maybe I am.” He’s willing to put that on himself. Also, the qualifier through this scene - but maybe it’s us - is so important to me, because he’s still not saying “you’re wrong.” it’s a maybe.
    • When she refuses to go with him he’s clearly frustrated (again I’m giving him a pass here because he’s frustrated because he knows he won’t be able to save as many people without her) but he still doesn’t try to force her to go with him. He doesn’t guilt-trip her, doesn’t yell at her for not helping. He just gives that desperate shrug and says “I have to go. I’m sorry, I have to go.”
    • And when Charlie and Sam and Chief show up and ask where Diana is, all he says is “we’re on our own.” Not “she wouldn’t fucking help us” - which frankly is probably what I would have said in this situation - just that statement and nothing more.
  • In their final scene, when she’s hurt and dazed and temporarily hard of hearing, he breaks his “no touching” rule, but he breaks it because he’s helping her stand up and then because, well… even if she doesn’t, he knows he’s never going to see her again.
    • It’s also super important to me that he doesn’t try to kiss her in this scene, because god knows he must have wanted to. He sees that she is in no shape to consent to anything like that and he doesn’t even come close to pushing it.
    • I’m not even gonna get into the “I can save today” part because I’m still too emotionally fraught
    • He says is “I wish we had more time.” before he tells her he loves her and literally runs to his death. That’s it. Nothing that could possibly make her feel guilty, nothing that could have seemed like he regretted anything. Not “I wish we hadn’t gone to the front.” Just “I wish we had more time.”
    • And he then, metaphorically and literally, gives her more time. Because he knows his clock has run out, but that doesn’t mean hers has to… So he runs and saves today and gives her his watch. Gives her time.
  • Anyway I’m seventeen thousand levels of fucked up from this movie, please feel free to add because Steve is amazing and a genuinely good, complex, respectful male character like this should be celebrated
Sit down lads and listen to my tired fueled rant on why Steven Yeun is a pure man and loves Keith!

So, its been bugging me for a while (especially with the new season just being released) about the fact that almost all the voice actors promote the show and how much slack my boi Steven gets! We all know how much Jeremy Shada, Bex T-K, Josh Keaton, Hell, even AJ whos new to the team go full out and are full of thoughts and words to say about Voltron and their charterers, SO, I am here today, ignoring every piece of homework i have due four weeks ago to tell y’all why none of the slack he gets is deserved!

Way back when in may of this year, a local (ish) convention guested Steven Yeun as a guest, and even though I may be a Lance stan before a human being, I cried cuz I loved this boi since the walking dead.

I had saved all my $$ just to get this boi’s autograph (on top of picking one up for my friends sister) and waited in his line for almost 2 hours just so i could be first.  And as I sat in line, i noticed that the growing amount of walking dead fans where starting to get extremely high (i don’t think a single person in that line even KNEW what Voltron even was!).

So, b/c i am smart and don’t want to make a rash choice, i sneak a pick at the photos he has lined up before hand to see if they had any rad Voltron for him to sign. and OF COURSE there is no Voltron or Keith anywhere on that table.  But Worry not fellow nerds!  I did the smart thing and printed off a picture of Keith at home!  But my printer is shitty and the quality wasn’t the best

So after almost two hours and him being 20 minutes late ( i could never hate, my boi was on his lunch break) the line starts movin.  So here i am, about to meet Steven FREAKING Yeun, dressed as Kim Possible (not relevant but anyways) and I have practiced over and over what im gonna say to this man.

“Talk about the Walking Dead, you can do it, tell him you love the walking dead”

So i get up and pay for my autograph, and they let me have two photos and his manager, when he gets to me, tells him that he can only sign one.

NOw, before I got on, my boi looked tired.  Like HELLA TIRED.  idk what he be doing, but he was doing his best to fake a smile and get through another line.

And when i get up in front of him, I FROZE!  like, BItcH, What you DOIN?!?!?  anyways, i shake his hand and all i manage to say is

“I loved you in Voltron!”

And the look on his face gave me ten years of my life back!  This boi (whose entire autograph photo selection is just walking dead and head shots) hears Voltron, and i saw a smile that was genuine rush over him.  And the MOMENT i notice this, I just go back to talking about Voltron with him

Anyways, he signs my friends photo (which was hella aesthetic) and he looks over at my two and i explain to him the deal

“So, heres the thing: i only have enough money for one autograph and you are my favorite character in the walking dead (bitch was already dead at this point too) but I got really sad when there was no Keith photos. SO i printed this out at home and I want you to decide.”

he looks at the two photos and tells me

“heres what we’re gonna do.”

and he reaches for the Keith picture and he starts to sign it.  I’m already close to tears at this point, and he is just signing away.  And then he glances over at his manager and quickly signs the other one, pushing both towards me before she had time to react and pull the other one away.

ANd at this point i am IN TEARS.  Crying in the con, god bless this random lady who gave me a tissue or my makeup would have been a mess.

My friend and I sit down and we look at the pictures and he FUCKING SIGNED THE KEITH PHOTO FROM KEITH!!!!  I might be a Lance stan, but jesus fuck do I love Steven Yeun and everything he is!!

And this boi loves Keith! all the stories I heard from others who met him said that when they mentioned Voltron he would become ten times more happy.  Steven is a gift and I want nothing but happiness for that man.

Oh, and also…

Stevn Yeun loves Keith, he cares for Voltron, and I will NOT tolerate hate towards him any longer!

I rest my case

AU where the Justice League forms like usual, except Batman maintained his “totally a myth” status and has in fact been active for years before the JL forms. He’s very cautious about trusting them, but still joins, and the others sort of accepts that as long as they trust that Batman has a really hard time with trust, it will all work out in its own weird way

Then, one day, in the middle of a JL mission, the League gets in a tight spot. Out of nowhere, this blue and black blur swoops in and saves everyone’s ass. Maybe breaking some shackles that were proving very difficult, maybe disarm a bomb that the League was just a hair’s breadth too slow to reach without help, but whatever happens, the shadowy figure pauses just long enough to say, “Hey, Batman, you know you there are these things called cellphones now and you can just call sometimes, it doesn’t have to be this dramatic?” and bounds away after shouting ‘let’s do brunch! Bring your new friends!’

Batman is mortified.

No one lets it go.

The entire rest of the mission, the whole League is asking so many questions. Who was that? Do you know him? How do you know him? What’s going on? I didn’t know there was a vigilante in this area?? They don’t let up until he talks.

“That was Nightwing.” Batman is mumbling. The JL forces him to bring them to the Brunch. Brunch happens to be in a run-down apartment on the edge of a bad neighborhood, at five in the morning, in costume. Nightwing introduces himself as Batman’s lovechild with justice.

“I did not realize Batman had a child,” Martian Manhunter says, calmly enough that no one’s sure if he’s accidentally plucking a really loud thought out of the air or if he’s trying to make a joke.

Nightwing stares for a moment falling over laughing. He doesn’t get up. Batman starts trying to apply anti-Joker venom but Nightwing just kicks him and laughs until he cries. He keeps trying to wipe his eyes and his mask keeps getting in the way, so he asks everyone to leave so he can please get a hold of himself

He is still laughing when they leave. Everyone is confused. Batman is furious.  Nightwing manages to breathe long enough to say, “We’re just so glad you’re socializing now, Batman.”

Superman turns to look at Batman very slowly. “…’we’?”

If it weren’t for the soft dent between his brows you would have assumed he had not heard you. He takes his time allowing the wine to caress his palate, eyes closed as he savors the taste.  As always, he makes you wait until the wine glass is drained of it’s dark contents. ifeelbetterer  asked:

Gotg prompt: how did Rocket learn to speak Groot?

“Repeat after me, Quill: I am Groot.”

“I am Groot,” Peter said dutifully. He felt like an idiot, but there were only a limited number of ways to while away quiet nights on the ship when neither of them could sleep. If it was him and Gamora, or him and Drax, they could spar, but he’d only tried sparring with Rocket once. It took weeks for the bite marks to heal.

Rocket’s oddly expressive – for a raccoon – face wrinkled in an expression of disgust. “Do you even hear yourself? That is nothing like what I just said.”

“Dude, that is exactly what you just said.”

“No, I said ‘I am Groot’ and you said ‘I am Groot’.”

“Which is … the same?”

Rocket stared at him for a long moment, then pointed at his snout. “Read my lips: I am Groot.”

“Was I supposed to repeat that, or …”

Rocket showed some teeth. Peter shut up. There was a moment of silence and Peter was just about to put his earbuds back in and quit with the language lessons when Rocket said suddenly, “Quill, if I say, 'I am Groot,’ just like that, what do you hear?”

“Is this a trick question? Especially the kind of trick question that’s gonna end in you pissing on my bed?”

“That was only once, and you had it coming –”

“Rocket –”

“No, for the love o’ cheese, it’s not a trick question. Just say 'I am Groot’.”

“I am Groot,” Peter said. “I feel like a complete jackass right now, in case that was your intent – hey, where are you going?”

“Jus’ need to get a thing!” Rocket’s voice trailed behind him.

Peter flopped back down in the chair in the mess and put his earbuds in. He was actually getting sleepy, and considering going back to bed, when Rocket jumped up onto the table in front of him with something clutched in his paws.

“What’s that?” Peter asked, sitting up. He palmed off the Zune and took off the earpieces. He had to hand it to Earth tech: the new music player was a lot more convenient to carry around than his late, lamented Walkman.

Rocket’s device was a thin, flat screen about the size of a hardback book; he had it clutched with a paw on each side while readouts rippled quickly across it.

“Okay, now say 'I am Groot’,” Rocket declared, studying the screen.

“Come on, man, do we really have to go through this again?”

“Humor me.”

Peter sighed and slouched in his chair. “I am Groot.”

Rocket’s ears pricked forward. “I am Groot,” he said, and tapped the display with his paw, causing the tiny, scrolling lines and numbers to freeze. “Did that sound the same to you?”

“Well … yeah?”

The flat pads of Rocket’s fingers danced across the display, and he laid the screen on the table between them. “Know what you’re lookin’ at?”

“Squiggly lines,” Peter said automatically.

“Did your mama drop you on the head a lot as a baby, Quill?”

“No, but Yondu did occasionally.” Peter rested his elbow on the table and his chin in his hand. As much fun as it was to mess with Rocket, he did actually think he knew what the raccoon was getting at. “That wiggly line is some kind of … uh … noise – wiggle – curve, right?”

“That’s real precise.”

“I was abducted from Earth before we got to algebra in school. Cut me some slack here.”

“Excuses, excuses. I was raised in a cage and my mother had an IQ of 3.” Rocket touched the display, zooming in on it. “Point is, I don’t think it’s just that all a’ you two-legged bunch is too obtuse to understand perfectly clear speech –”

“Thanks.”

“– like I used to think. It’s more like, my ears hear at higher and lower frequencies than yours do, so I get different overtones. Put simply for the simple, I can hear things you can’t.”

Peter leaned forward, intrigued. “So, wait – you mean all this time, all his 'I am Groot’s sound different to you?”

He realized what he’d said as soon as the words left his mouth, and got the flat 'I am dealing with morons’ look from Rocket that he’d instantly realized he had coming. “How am I supposed to understand him if they don’t, Quill, I ask you?”

“Okay – point – but … so why does it sound like 'I am Groot’ to the rest of us?”

“It sounds like 'I am Groot’ to me too.” When Peter glowered at him, Rocket held up a paw. “No, I ain’t messin’ with ya. This time. No, that’s what the translation unit picks up, 'cause it ain’t so smart about some of the less humanoid languages. It’s just, I hear it like …” He hesitated and waggled his paw. “It’s like your music, right? All those up and down tones at the same time. Groot can do that. Your throat, my throat, can’t.”

“Singing?” Peter said after a minute. “Groot’s singing?”

“I refer you back to the part about bein’ dropped on your head.” Rocket pursed his lips and let out a sharp whistle, making Peter jump – there was still some part of him that couldn’t quite hear whistling and not expect a death arrow to follow an instant later. And he might not be the only one, because Rocket stopped abruptly, closed his mouth, and then said, “Quill, do this,” and hummed softly.

It wasn’t really a tune. “You just want me to hum?” Peter asked. “Like, generic humming?”

Rocket curled his lip and the hum became more of a snarl.

“Right, humming,” Peter said hastily.

The funny thing was, the instant his soft hum of response hit the right harmonics with the note Rocket was humming (and the raccoon did have a good sense of pitch; Peter had always suspected so) he understood exactly what Rocket was getting at.

“Ohhhhh. When Groot talks, it’s like a symphony. Is that what you mean? And the 'I am Groot’ part is the part in the human audible range.”

Rocket’s ears and tail went up cheerfully. “Yeah, ezzactly. He’s tryin’ to communicate, it’s just he didn’t get any farther than 'I am Groot’ when he was learning. It’s as hard for him to do the talkin’ part for the translators as it is for you and me to do his kind of talk. He can hear us just fine, though. Actually to him, understanding our talk is dead easy.”

“So how do we understand him?” Peter asked. “Can you, I dunno, juice up the translator so it picks up a higher range of frequencies, or something?”

“I dunno. That’s not a bad idea.” Rocket tapped his claw against his teeth before picking up the screen thing and hopping off the table. “Have to think on it. Don’t wanna explode your heads or anything.”

“Yeah, well, on that lovely note, I’m goin’ to bed.” He actually was tired enough now to fall asleep in spite of the inevitable nightmares (the bitter cold and darkness of space; Ego’s face dissolving in his hands; his friends crushed by rocks or blown apart). The music helped as it always had, a melodic bulwark against the dark, wrapped gently around his heart – but it could only do so much.

Rocket grunted absently as he trotted off, already engrossed in figuring out the problem.

The thought occurred to Peter as he wandered back to his quarters, thumbing idly through the songs on the Zune, that these sorts of mechanical puzzles served the same purpose for Rocket as his music did for him: something to make his mind go quiet.

The music did that … and so did letting Gamora beat the stuffing out of him in the ship’s small exercise area. Or getting language lessons from Rocket. Or –

“I am Groot?”

Peter jumped as small hands grabbed hold of his pants leg. Groot shimmied quickly up to perch on his shoulder.

“Hey, little buddy.” Peter opened the door to his quarters and left it open so Groot could come and go as he wanted. Or so he could hear if anybody got into a fight or whatever. He flopped wearily on his unmade bed, careful not to dislodge Groot. “You know, I’m not sure how much of this you can understand right now, but Rocket’s teaching me to speak your language.”

“I am Groot?”

“Well, to understand you more than speak it, I guess I should say.” He was lying on his back now and he couldn’t really see Groot except out of the corner of his eye, but he could feel the little tree shifting around in the hollow where the collar of his sweatshirt rested against his neck.

“I am Groot,” Groot said insistently, almost in his ear. Small hands patted at the side of his face and his earlobe.

“Yeah, yeah.” Peter pinched one earbud between two fingers and held it where Groot could get at it. The little hands took it out of his fingers. Peter settled himself comfortably as Groot squirmed somewhat ticklishly against his neck, and sorted through the songs. “How 'bout Elton John tonight, buddy?”

“I am Groot,” came the sleepy answer.

“You know, little guy,” Peter murmured, as the first strains of the music began to play and Groot snuggled comfortably against his neck, “whether or not Rocket can get his new gadget working, I think we understand each other just fine, don’t we?”

“I am Groot!”

Defects (M)

Muses: jungkook x reader
Genre: Angsty angst angst
Warning: mentions of cheating, sex (it’s all over the place) and plain old defect in the soulmate system.
Words: 4.1k
Note: Wrote all this Jungkook’s cover, Beautiful, a Goblin OST is on replay.

Concept: Every time you meet your soulmate, your pocket watch will start counting down the time you have with them until you part. For the amount of time you’re away from each other, whether it’s a month, a day, or just hours, the time is at a pause as your watch stares back at you with unmoving hands on the 12th hour. When you meet again, the countdown restarts.

Summary: Your watch comes alive in Jungkook’s presence, but often time, never as long as you will it to be no matter how hard you pray to the fates. The moments with him are fleeting and brief like the akin-to magical seconds you spend watching the cityscape buzz to life on nights you can’t sleep - nights Jungkook isn’t there to kiss your worries away and disappear like the wind blowing through cities at the break of dawn. When your the hands on your watch stills with glaring zeroes, you know where he’s at, you know who he’s with - he goes back to her, the woman who his time starts and ends with.

Constantly losing focus while you study be frustrating. We will go through some of the top study tips that can allow you to focus and study effectively.

Remind yourself why
One of the key things that help us maintain focus no matter what, is by getting really interested in whatever we are doing. So find a way to make your topic interesting, relatable and practical in your life.

Remind yourself that you want to study to expand your worldly knowledge, to graduate, get into a field that you can flourish in, and provide some value to the world with your awesomeness. Also try thinking in metaphors and whatifs. It’s your mind, no one else has access to it, so think of wondrous things to make yourself want to devote the next few hours of your life to the task at hand.

Before studying

  1. Plan out what you want to accomplish and give yourself a time limit. For example, I will read 10 pages from my psych textbook in 30 minutes, or I will spend 1 hour researching the key words for my report.
  2. Get enough sleep. Ideally around 7-9 hours. If you sleep earlier, you may need less sleep, but please never do less than 6. Constant sleep deprivation is deteriorating for the brain and body.
  3. Eat foods that help you focus. Which include blueberries, green tea, avocados, spinach, kale, salmon, nuts and seeds. I often have a spinach, banana & kale smoothie with matcha green tea powder, but you can combine some of the ingredients in a quick sandwich if you like.
  4. Your brain mainly works on sugar, but you need to temper it with a protein or something with low GI, to reduce any blood-sugar problems which can lead to sudden tiredness. A quick way to find a a balance is to opt for a fruit or healthy smoothie.
  5. Be aware that if you study right after having a heavy meal the blood circulating around your brain reduces and goes to help with digestion, so you may feel less alert. Smaller meals can help.
  6. Take supplements that help you focus: fish oil, omega 3, Ginko Biloba, vitamin B12, Co-Enzyme Q10, and iron.
  7. Identify whatever distracts you and find a way to minimise it. So perhaps you can go to a non-distracting environment, if that is an issue. I prefer libraries or coffeeshops.
  8. Surround yourself with motivated people. If you can befriend the top few students in your class, or at least be on nicer terms with them, hopefully their studiousness will rub off on you.
  9. Have all the stationary and materials you need at hand.
  10. Set up a reward system, but avoid food as a reward as it can lead to an unhealthy relationship with food. Instead try a relaxing activity, or hobby. Pretty much any incentive you can think of that will help you cross the finish line.

While studying

  1. Prime - Spend 2 minutes skimming or figuring out what you will be going through.
  2. Drinking game - Keep a bottle of water or two next to you. Drink a cup or a half cup worth every time you get distracted for more than 5 seconds.
  3. Put distractions in their place - Write down any distracting thoughts in a small notebook. But remember it’s not supposed to act as your pretty bullet journal, but you can make another spread for if it you like. I made a small notebook the other day to write down quick thoughts that I would otherwise dwell on. It helps me direct my thoughts appropriately to what I’m studying, and still have those important ideas to refer to later.
  4. Motivate yourself - Write out exactly why you want to be a [insert awesome career position] in detail with examples. Keep that page or post-it on hand and look at it when you feel yourself losing focus. It can give you a motivational boost and can inspire you to keep going. Sometimes I like to visualise specific scenarios of how I could help people once my finish my studies.
  5. Take strategic breaks - Remove yourself from your study space and think of something else for a few minutes. You can get a snack, walk around, do a quick workout, look outside, and notice nature. Practice being present in the moment. Listen to of the world around you and get out of your head.
  6. If you feel you can not sustain your concentration on a task for too long, you may switch between two different yet equally important tasks. But try to do a big task for at least 20 minutes, you never know, by then you might like it. Some studies show, it takes 20 minutes to really get into concentrating on something.
  7. Reduce as many distractions as you can, including turning off notifications and wifi, putting you phone on do not disturb or airplane mode, and try blocking apps.
  8. Track how you use your time. I like the apps ‘Now and Then’ and ‘Moment’ for iOS. So you can see how much you have accomplished or slacked off.
  9. Write draft first. Edit and prettify later.
  10. If you’re in the final stage, focus on the fact that you have made it this far and that you’re almost done.
  11. Try to make it fun somehow, perhaps with strategies you used when you were a kid.
  12. Use as many senses as you can.
  13. Record your voice and say whatever you are reading or writing in different accents.
  14. Draw quick doodles next to whoever you are doing to help you remember it better.

After studying

  1. Revise whatever you have accomplished just before your break, by quickly skimming through your most recent notes or readings.
  2. Consequent revision schedule. The best way to remember what you have worked on is to revise it in specific intervals, after you have studying it. So after five minutes, in that evening before bed, the next day, at the end of the week and then in three weeks.
  3. Reward yourself, as long as you feel like you ended up accomplishing something you couldn’t before.

You can try out each step for two days each to see which strategies work best for you.

I hope these tips can help you, and feel free message me if you would like more details for one of the points :)

Part 2: Task: 12 Days of lesser known animated show/film recommendations

Hey, guys! I’ve been a bit down lately, so in order to give myself something to do, I decided to share with you all the lesser known, underrated or entirely hidden gems of the animated world (as far as I know), be it show or film.

Rules:

-The animation must be traditional (no CGI unless it’s minor and in the background; i’ll do an all CGI list later).

-The recommended work must have soothing, inspiring or otherwise admirable leads with realistic emotional connections.

-The plot of the story must be intriguing if not wholly believable and the artwork must meet certain aesthetic standards.

-The characters must have emotionally realistic interactions with one another in ratio to the time allowed for them to interact.

-The animation in question may be from anywhere in the world.

Also, feel free to clue me in on any that I don’t list, because I would really appreciate a new animated find!

As a matter of course, a great deal of the listed shows/films will be ‘anime’, simply because japanimation has the monopoly on the most unique and varied story lines, and Japan (and sometimes France) are the only ones making mostly traditionally drawn animated features still.

Alright, here we go … …

Day Two: Fairy Tale Films :)

The Day of the Crows

I absolutely adore this film. Not only is The Day of the Crows a superbly animated feast for the eyes, but the characters, lessons and honest interactions take it a level above most children’s films. Not only that, but the dialogue is wonderfully translated from the French to the English subtitles. As a matter of course, I prefer watching films in their original language unless the dub has some inventive dialogue or more adequate voice acting, but this little known gem isn’t likely to pick up a dub any time soon anyway, so all of you who only watch dubs should make an exception for this one.

It is the story of a young boy who has been raised by an ogre in the woods, until one day he must leave the protection of the trees for the nearby village in order to save someone precious to him. While there, he meets a young girl and begins to learn the touching history of his family. It’s a delightfully nuanced film. Really, don’t miss it!

Note: The title is mildly misleading, as any crow characters are showcased near the end of the film and don’t get much screen time. But why should that bother anyone?

A+

Fusé: Teppō Musume no Torimonochō

Is there any anime lover who would pass up a film with adorable characters and animal transformations? Well, I actually would pass up the ‘animal transformations’ part, but that may just be me. Fusé is a touching fairy tale centring around a young huntress who befriends a dog-like humanoid named Shino. What puts this movie a pitch above the other films out there with a similar premise is it’s refusal to give the characters more slack than any real person would get. People die…there’s a surprising amount of gore which I feel is somehow toned up despite the soft animation. It’s the sort of film that makes you laugh less because it’s funny and more because you know your window to find things humorous is rapidly disappearing. You want the characters to be happy….you think they should be because the film is so cute…but it’s the bitter-sweet trick of the story.

It’s based on the Hakkenden, an old Japanese novel series that details the exploits of the ‘Dog Warriors’, beings reincarnated from the slaughtered spawn of a princess and her dog lover. This is part of why I can forgive the dog-creature theme, because the characters within the story on a few separate occasions refer to the story as a ‘counterfeit’ or parody of the Hakkenden

A

Snow Maiden

An old Russian animation about a young woman who is the child of Spring and Winter, stepping into a village for the first time and learning that she does not have the capacity to love as other humans do. It’s very touching, very whimsical, and in the end bitter-sweet. I’d recommend it for the beautiful artwork alone, but the characters are given a surprising amount of life considering how old the film is. It’s clearly a labour of love.

A+

The Dead Princess and the Seven Knights

An old Russian film based on Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs. The most fantastic thing about this film is that from start to finish the entirety of the script is one looong poem, complete with rhymes. I believe this film, Snow Maiden and The Twelve Months are all apart of the same collection, but these three are not dubbed into English, like some of the better known in the series, such as The Snow Queen.

A

The Twelve Months

If you are familiar with this film, it may be because you’ve watched the anime incarnation. I’d advise you to watch this one instead. Not only are the characters a bit more vital, but the art is a step above the anime and the humour is a bit more fluid. It is a Cinderella-like tale about a girl who wanders into the woods after being forced to preform an impossible task, and receives guidance from the Twelve Months, who are portrayed as a band of merry males of various ages having a meeting around a camp fire in the dead of winter.

A

Kirikou and the Sorceress

Kirikou and the Sorceress is a fascinating film about a young boy who, from the moment he is born, is able to talk and think like an adult. But he is still only a baby, and is very small because of it, which causes troubles between him and the towns people, and eventually gets the attention of a wicked sorceress that finds him a nuisance as he starts to use his size for unusual heroic feats.

Every character is fun, the dialogue is insightful and the resolution is terribly sweet.

A+

Tales of the Night

A series of re-worked fairy tales told through ‘shadow puppet’ visuals. Beautiful stories, really. All of the interactions between the characters are unique and admirable, and every tale has a satisfying conclusion. You may think the shadow puppet look takes away from it, but, really, it only gives you a bit more emotion to savour since every character looks pretty much the same, allowing their intentions to nakedly drive the stories, rather than their looks.

A

The Last Unicorn

Based on the book of the same name, and with a screen play by the author, this film is one of the better known ‘hidden gems’. The story follows the ‘last unicorn’, as she searches for others of her kind, who are being held captive in a barren land that is very far away from her gentle forest. She gathers loyal and endearing companions along the way, and eventually looses a bit of herself in the throws of a pseudo-romance with a prince.

It’s a classic. The animation is unique and whimsical, and the pacing, characters and eventual resolution are all wonderful. It was my favourite film as a child.

A+

The Princess and the Pilot

The Princess and the Pilot is a touching tale about the blooming tenderness and self-awareness between a pilot and the princess he is tasked with transporting across the ocean. There is political intrigue, bold decisions and the rude awakenings of reality in a war torn country. Both the leads are relatable and worth the care you inevitably develop toward them. And though the ending is a little frustrating, it is handled in a realistic and tentative manner that shows the meaning of personal feelings, even if physical circumstances can’t reflect them.

A-

Miss Hokusai

Miss Hokusai is the fictional and slightly sensationalised biography of an actual historical figure from the Japanese artistic past. The story is told in a series of self-contained artistic episodes that explore the philosophy needed to produce vital art, by teaching the characters emotional lessons through supernatural interactions. It’s very unique and telling, and every character has a degree of believably that is pleasantly attention grabbing. Some might complain that the formatting leaves a bit to be desired, but I’m pretty sure this is all intentional.

A+

Princess Arete

Princess Arete is one of those rare princess films that is all about a princess and her character building, and not at all about romance.

Little Princess Arete is kept in a tower where she grows increasingly depressed, despite her night time slips into the town bellow her window. By a bitter sort of luck, she is kidnapped by a wizard, and from here able to experience the world, albeit under a curse. The film has a very charmed and truthful grasp on the meanings in minor interactions and it never betrays the passionate heart of it’s female lead.

It’s a bit slow, but if you watch movies for the enrichment they provide and not for the face paced thrills, this one may be for you.

A+

Magic Boy

An old Japanese feature from the ‘60′s about a young boy who must do battle with a wicked witch to protect his home and family. The characters are enjoyable, the battles are pretty neat and the animation is a proto-perfect anime film suite. Honestly, if you’ve seen Kubo and the Two Strings and then you see this, you may feel, as I have, that it is like the spiritual grandfather to Kubo

A+

The Life of Guskou Budori

If you’ve ever seen Night on the Galactic Railroad, these two may look familiar to you. As you watch Guskou, you may develop the suspicion that the characters are an alternate incarnation or perhaps even a canon reincarnation of Giovanni and Campanella.

The Life of Guskou Budori is about said titular character as he navigates life after the death (otherworldly kidnapping?) of his younger sister during a great famine. The animation is simply gorgeous, and if you can forgive the incredibly vague narrative, you may just find yourself walking along a very enchanted dream.

Like Galactic Railroad, all of the characters are anthropomorphised cats. I’m unsure why that is, but it’s cute and inventive. It too, is based on a book. If you haven’t seen Night on the Galactic Railroad, I would also recommend that one, as it is very touching and poetic, but it is very slow. If you happen to like both of them, the anime Spring and Chaos, another anthropomorphic cat tale, may be for you, as it is about the guy who wrote the two aforementioned stories.

B+

Tales from Earthsea

If you are a studio Ghibli fan, you may be in for a treat. This is a loose adaptation of Ursula K. LeGuin’s seminal work the Earthsea series. It wraps into one film the characters and issues of four books, and so it doesn’t do the books much justice as it has bit off a bit more than it can chew. But if you accept it as an entirely different story that happens to have similar magical rules and the same names as the Earthsea series character’s have, the film is quite good.

Young Arren is a disturbed young man who runs away from his posh life and is picked up by the Arch-mage Ged. After making a special friend and fighting a deranged wizard, Arren learns how to own up to his fears and find peace despite his crimes. I recommend watching the original Japanese dub, as it is a bit more insightful about the Earthsea world.

It is directed by Miyazaki’s son Goro. If you like this film, you may like his other, more well rounded film From Up On Poppy Hill (my favourite Ghibli film), and Miyazaki’s Howl’s Moving Castle, which is an adaptation of Diana Wynne Jones’s book of the same name (and a far more skillfully crafted adaptation than Tales from Earthsea. The perks of being a seasoned animator, I guess).

If you like the films, or even if you don’t, I recommend reading the Earthsea series and the Howl’s Moving Castle series. I prefer the latter.

A by itself, B-/C+ if compared to the books.

Fire and Ice

Fire and Ice is one of those barbarian films from the early 80′s. It’s got action and romance and wild prehistoric beasts, an obvious bad guy that’s still pretty well rounded despite his minor screen time and a bit of sorcery that you can laugh at if your mind is dirty enough to catch the innuendos. In a nutshell, Fire and Ice is a great late night blast from the past that every child of the 90′s should see at least once.

With art overseen by the legendary Frank Frazetta, I think any serious artist could find this film pretty rad as well.

A-

The Cat Returns

The Cat Returns is a fascinating continuum of Shizuku’s story from Whisper of the Heart (another Ghibli film). It’s a fairy tale to the max, complete with a dapper cat ‘prince’ and woefully silly damsel-in-distress. It’s a lesser known Ghibli film, which is why it’s on the list, and if you do watch it, I recommend pairing it with Whisper of the Heart, a high school drama about a young girl’s blossoming romance and her attempt to write a novel, since it’s only right to see the little strings that connect the two tales.

It’s funny, charming and the Baron has a British accent ;) Mmm-mm delish!

A/N: It’s been a while since I wrote Sam x reader. Hope you enjoy! XOXO

Insomnia does weird things to a person.

Under no other circumstances would you be sitting in the library of the bunker, reading about the weaponry forged in fourteenth century Japan to combat a monster that was essentially an ocean-dwelling werewolf.

Yeah. Can’t make this shit up.

I tend to fancy flowers too much. That is how I met him. I could see him through the window, watching as he sat outside of a shitty café shop I was in smoking a well finished cigarette. Snorting, I watch as he throws it into a rose bush beside him. This man wasn’t the known stereotyped bad boys that people read on a screen with face piercings and inappropriate tattoos on his body with vibrant eyes that looked into your soul as he held a smirk across him lips. No, this unnamed boy dressed with some sense of fashion, folded sleeves and slacks. He held emotion, only one which was madness.

This man, a indescribable human that was so unbearable that reached inside my body and ruined my soul breaking my heart in the process just by the snap of fingers. How we met wasn’t in a cliché way, not in the one that they show in movies where their hands accidentally touch and look into watch others eyes feeling all those sparks or something bullshit. Hell, we felt something alright when I orgasmed in his bed. I would always worry what people would say if I was seen with him in public, but he never gave a fuck about what others said about the boy. His motto was fuck everybody and be you. He was always blunt and honest even you never asked for his opinion. The way he did me, he’d make you realize who you’re and that nobody is really important so why give a flying fuck? I always disagreed and that’s what he liked about me.

One night when he found me drowning my sorrows in alcohol and smoking only god knows. That man shook something in me that sticls with me today. Instead of caring for me, he slapped me across the face and told me to stop being such a shitty baby.  He told me that if I didn’t like the way I was living was for me to go run away. He told me to find a city where nobody wouldknow who I was and to stop worrying about everything fucking thing that’s happened to me and to grow a pair to just get over it and to just start living life. To create something that only the people around us can remember. That we didn’t have to be famous to be remembered just be remembered for the people you love.

The boy that had eyes of autumn leaves and skin so smooth. Lips so soft I don’t think I could bare I could kiss another. Then man that stole my humanity and left like I was garbage. I didn’t want to believe that happened I’d feel this way. To feel something for a guy that I knew would never live a forever with me like I fantasized. I have and still will deny the fact that I was in love with him. I don’t think I was ever in love. I was just in love with the idea of him.

The thought of him is was ruined me. He burned a piece of him, scarring inside of my mind to never forget about him. I never had the chance for it to rub across his tongue and hear it feeling the vibration of my own voice from the back of my throat looking into his eyes to find his reaction, but never had the gut to admit it in person because the fear of his reaction would’ve killed me.

So I’m just have the memories. He never laughed much, but when he did he laughed like god. When he’d squeeze my knee I’d always jump at the odd feeling, I never got use to his touch, other than him pleasuring me. Sometimes he’d get me high before we fucked. Whispering in my ear that he’d fuck me silly. . I I’ve spent so many times in his bed I’ve lost count.

He always told me that I was changing him and maybe that was the way of him saying I love you? Who knows. He can’t tell me now, can he?

Dude, requests are back up, awesome! How about DAI companions + Krem de la creme reacting to the inquisitor being one of the last avian folk?(Like, they have big ass wings, so they always wear an even bigger cloak to hide them, and during battle somehow, they end up losing the cloak? They can legit fly with them)

Cassandra: She stares and stares before angrily demanding to know why they hid this from her. They sheepishly explain their situation, and she calms down, but it doesn’t change the fact they hid it. When she eventually gets over it, she sometimes just sits and watches them fly around (which they do for fun; they’re actually sort of relieved to be revealed for this reason). It makes her nervous, at first, worrying they’ll suddenly drop, but she’s awed by how agile and graceful they are in the sky. Once or twice, they have to pick her up and drop her somewhere else, and it makes her nervous every time they pick her up, and she hates how helpless she feels suspended in the air. If Romanced: Sometimes he takes her flying for no reason other than a good time. She likes it significantly more than non-romanced flying. Eventually, they’ll land, and have a quiet, serene place to sit together while she listens to him recite poetry.

Blackwall: He stares. That’s all he can do as he gawks with a slack jaw for a long time. He has no words– trying for speech just results in helpless sputtering. The man stands aside as the others fuss and try to make sense of the situation, and speaks last. He gets over it, though, once he hears the story, and doesn’t mind at all. “They’re like a pair of griffon wings,” he admires, “powerful and fast.” If the Herald can lift him up, it makes him supremely uncomfortable the first time they take him into the sky, but he finds that he thinks it’s fun. If Romanced: He regularly compliments her on how beautiful her wings are, and he tries to help itch and clean the spots she can’t reach easily. He brings her flowers that grow all the way up on a mountainside, and she gently teases him and says she could just fly him up there. “No, my lady,” he refuses, “it’s not the same if all the work’s taken out of it. You shouldn’t waste your time helping me get you flowers; let me do the work.”

Iron Bull: After getting past the initial shock, he’s utterly green with envy. It looks like SO MUCH FUN, taking off like a dragon to the skies. The Herald tries to pick him up (to no avail, he’s too heavy) to give him the experience of flying, so he takes it upon himself to make them stronger and faster, so they can. Push-ups with wings, laps around Skyhold, timing their speed of flight, you name it. “Just wait. You’ll go back to your people and fly circles around them! When you can finally lift me up, you can air-drop me on the enemies for an attack from above! It’s gonna be great!” If romanced: Hot. He’s 100% into this. He snickers if any feathers get ruffled or fall off after sex. “Did I ruffle your feathers, Kadan?” he teases, and he just laughs as they slap him with a wing. He ties one of the feathers that fall off to the dragontooth necklace, as long as they don’t mind.

Sera: She’s freaked out and utterly shocked. She has no idea how to react, so she just stares for a long time, sputtering helplessly. She feels bad later at how upset they seemed at her facial expression. “Aw, shite… well, your feathery ass is welcome here, alright?” she reassures. She likes tossing things at them when they’re flying to see if they can catch it, and it becomes a sort of game/exercise routine. She also talks them into using their wings to prank others. She screams the first time they pick her up and take her into the sky, but soon she realizes she likes it, so long as she trusts the Herald. Sometimes she’ll ask to be taken with them, because she thinks it’s exhilarating– and a few times, shoots arrows at people from above while the Herald carries her. “Death from above! Arrows from the sky! I even have a source of feathers for fletching at any moment! Hah!” A few times, if she needs them, she’ll just pluck a feather clean off if there’s none lying around, and sticks her tongue out as the Herald protests. “What? You still got a lot of ‘em. Your wings are huge!” Also jokingly refers to wings/feathers sticking out as “wingboners.” If Romanced: She likes tickling her wings and playing with her feathers, and sleeping under a wing when they’re in bed together. “They’re soft. And fuzzy. And cute.” she gushes. She also learns how to preen the feathers, and takes to doing so regularly out of affection, at least in the areas her girlfriend can’t reach with ease. She typically finishes it off by taking a feather or two that falls off to keep for herself.

Varric: “Holy Mother of Andraste’s ass.” he breathes, taking it all in. He comes around quickly, though, and asks a lot of questions– though few on anatomy, unlike Dorian, and more on who they are, where they come from, and about their people. He’s fascinated, and taking notes. Sometimes when he’s out of writing quills, he wryly asks them if he can take one of theirs– or may just take one if they drop off from time-to-time. He’s not a fan of going into the sky, at all. “You know, I like the idea of getting as far away from the Stone as possible,” he says nervously as he looks down at the world below, “but this is a bit too far. Dwarves don’t fly.”

Cole: He knew, and he doesn’t mind in the least. “I am sorry. The others know, and they want to help. They don’t mind the wings.” He also comments that the others are happy while watching the Herald fly, and the Inquisitor takes to doing small shows on a regular basis for the crowd at Skyhold, which always draws large numbers. Everyone is cheered by the amazing sight of them in the sky, and morale goes up. People start sitting and waiting for hours before the show starts. Cole smiles– they helped.

Dorian: About five million questions start flying from his lips as soon as he’s out of the initial shock. How fast can you fly? How many feathers do you have? What’s the bone structure of your wings? Can you stick one straight out so I can measure how long it is? Where are your people from? Why are you the only one out here? It makes them more than a little uncomfortable, and he feels bad when he realizes how uncomfortable they are. “Oh.” he says, suddenly quiet. “I… I’m sorry. I didn’t mean to… if you need to talk, let me know?” He loves watching them soar through the sky, and he takes notes as he watches. He considers them and their wings utterly beautiful, and he feels honored to know them and witness their flight. He does not particularly care for going in the air, though, citing a sudden fear of extreme heights as he clings to the Herald, trying desperately to not look down. If Romanced: He loves preening his lover’s feathers, because it’s hard for them to reach behind and get them clean. He finishes it all with a kiss. He feels so safe under his boyfriend’s wings as they lay together, and he silently smirks as he imagines his father’s reaction to seeing his boyfriend.

Vivienne: She has to work to hide her complete and utter shock, and briefly scolds the Herald for not telling her before. When they’re comfortable, she examines their wings in detail. She figures out a grooming regimen. “Darling, everyone knows what you are now– there’s no point in hiding your wings any longer.” She smiles. “So use them. Preen them. Take the time and effort to make them presentable. You will be imposing, awe-inspiring, beautiful, majestic, and everyone will know it with a single glance.” She introduces them to her tailor, who manages to make them outfits that accommodate the wings– even accentuate them. Vivienne does not like being taken into the sky, but tolerates it if necessary in combat.

Solas: Their people were known to the ancient Elvhen, but their numbers were in slow decline– he’s honestly surprised that there’s any still around at all. He’s sympathetic to them, and surprises them by being the least shocked of any of the party members. He claims that he has seen their people before in the Fade, and suddenly the other party members are coming to him, asking for information. When he shakes them off, he mentions to the Herald that they shouldn’t hide their wings, for they are beautiful and proof of their ancient people. He asks them a lot of questions about the current state of their race, about their society, which befuddles the Herald. He doesn’t seem to mind being lifted into the air, if need be, and may even ask the Herald to carry him to places inaccessible by walking alone. If Romanced: They spend dates just finding places that only winged creatures can reach, and they look over the world together. They slumber and see memories previous unexplored by the remote location, and Solas feels genuine happiness that someone can understand the value of unexplored dreams. “Thank you, ma vhenan. Thank you…”

Cullen: He just sighs. Somehow this doesn’t even shock him. Maybe he’s seen too much. He’s a bit frustrated that they didn’t tell him to begin with, but lets it go readily. He asks if they know any others of their kind who would be interested in joining the Inquisition– flying soldiers would be excellent– and finds himself bewildered as they tell him that the vast majority of their people are shy and mistrustful of land-dwellers. He apologizes, and does not press the matter further. He enjoys watching them fly, and compliments them on their ability, but absolutely hates being taken off the ground and into the sky in any circumstances. If Romanced: He’s somewhat more tolerant of being taken into the sky, but he still doesn’t like it. Sometimes when he’s having bad dreams, he awakens as one of her wings gently folds over him, covering him softly, affectionately, and his heart rate slows. He’s safe, and she loves him, and he feels it. He goes back to sleep in peace, happy with what he has and who he loves.

Leliana: She’s just envious, if anything; she wouldn’t mind being able to fly. She was wondering what they were hiding, and found several stray feathers (which may or may not be in unusual colors) from time-to-time, and this explains it. She takes it pretty calmly, and asks if they know any others of their kind that might be willing to join as agents, or even airborne couriers. If the Herald ever takes her into the sky, she acts totally calm, but she LOVES it, even though she doesn’t say so.

Josephine: She’s at a loss. She tries to quickly compose herself and awkwardly make sense of the situation, but once the shock wears off, she’s endlessly curious about being able to fly. She watches them zip through the sky with grace and speed and is utterly mesmerized. Like Vivienne, she encourages a strict preening regimen– if they’re going to have wings, they might as well make them presentable. Eventually, the Herald offers to take her flying, and she squeals with a mix of delight and a bit of fright. Her hair blows loosely, and the wind’s on her face, and by the time the Herald brings her back down, she’s dazed and eager for the next time they fly together. If Romanced: They take her flying with them all the time, and it makes for interesting dates. She giggles and squeals (and on one occasion, screams as they do a loop with her in their arms) and has the time of her life. They always end it by landing somewhere picturesque, and they sit together, cuddling and admiring the world around them.

Krem: “Your… your Worship?” he asks, shocked, not sure if he’s seeing correctly, or if Bull’s pulling a prank like that time they all covered themselves with feathers– but no, it’s really them. If they don’t mind, he asks them questions about flying, and remarks that the Chargers would love having one of their kind on the team, if they know anyone looking for work. Sometimes he tosses his stuffed winged nug plushies at them from the ground, and they catch, not unlike the game played with Sera. He really likes flying, and admires the view of the world below.

I just want to sleep

This is just me basically taking out my frustrations on not being able to sleep lately. It’s short and choppy and honestly I feel exactly what the title says. I’m sorry, Lance!

Summary: Basically this is just Lance breaking down in front of Allura after being able to sleep well and everyone except for Keith pushing their chores onto him.

He didn’t really think of it when he had agreed to take on both his and Shiro’s chores for that day.

“I really appreciate it, Lance. I don’t know what’s going on with my arm.” Shiro had glanced at his arm, which had been hanging limply by his side.

“It’s no problem!” Lance had said, except it was a problem. He hadn’t able to get a good night’s rest in over a month; nightmares of Earth and his family plagued him constantly. He had taken to walking around the ship, having memorized Shizo’s patrol schedule fairly quickly to avoid him, Lance’s nightmares shouldn’t on his shoulders too.

Lance had started on Shiro’s chores first, partially through when Pidge had come in, asking Lance to finishes hers so she could look at Shiro’s arm. What right did he have to refuse her request? She had been half way done anyway. He would try to nap once he was done. Except Hunk had asked him to help with his chore due to a culinary idea that had suddenly popped up. The excitement on his best friend’s face was enough to make him agree. He would be done soon, he could take his nap soon. It hadn’t worked out like that.

All he did was take a short rest before going to finish his own chore but Allura had found him sitting against the wall, everyone’s chores but his done. When she had started in on him as he stood up, he felt his eyes burn. It hadn’t been fair. He was doing most of the work, know Keith had already finished his and was in the training room. He just wanted sleep. Why couldn’t he sleep?

“Lance! Are you listening to me?!”

He looked up at her, fists clenched, and lips trembling. “I-I’m sorry.” His voice had cracked so harshly even the princess faltered. “I tried.” He let a sob. “I tried to finish all the chores, but everyone kept asking me to do theirs.” Tears flowed fast, everything catching up. “I’m sorry. I’m sorry. I’m sorry!” Lance slid to his knees, hands rubbing his face, messily. “I’m so tired though….”

“Lance?” Allura’s voice hesitant as she stepped forward. “Why are you tired?”

He sniffed and looked up at her weakly, the exhaustion showing through. “I can’t sleep… I tried… but I can’t.. I can’t sleep! I just want to sleep! I want the nightmares to stop!” He was fully sobbing now, his entire body shaking from the force. “I just want to sleep again..”

Allura knelt down in front of him, gently taking his hands into hers. “Lance… Lance, look at me. There, that’s it. It’s okay. It’ll be okay. I’ll help you.” She pulled the Blue Paladin into her arms, Lance clinging to her tightly as he cried. She ran her finger through his hair with quiet reassurances that everything was going to be okay. Moving them, Allura was now sitting against the same wall she had found Lance against. He was laying on his stomach, arms wrapped around her waist, head on her lap.

“You remind me of my sister…..” Lance muttered into her thigh. “She’s so amazing… really strong, too. She’d hold me all the times I had nightmares….”

Allura hummed softly, “Did you flirt with your sister too?”

“Of course! I flirted with all my brothers and sisters…. It was a family thing..”

Her hand stopped for a moment before continuing to pet him. Her own eyes wet with unshed tears. “I’m honored you think of me as family…. Lance?”

Lance breathed softly against her lap, eyes closed, grip slacking just a bit. Allura gave a small smile before shifting and picking Lance up carefully. Instead of going to his room, she headed to her room, determined that nothing would wake him now. She knew she was hard on them but none of them deserved this. Though, she will be upping the training levels tomorrow for them as she makes Lance rest for the day.

Please, I love when you write for Jack Wilder. Also I just rewatched both of the Now you see me movies and am dying for new stuff

WELL SINCE YOU SAID PLEASE. Basing this off of one of my earlier headcanons!

Imagine Jack just listening to you talk, and before you know it, he’s mastered your voice and he uses it when he’s playing around and mocks you.

Title: Voices.
Pairing: Jack Wilder x Reader.
Words: 1069.
Rating: T.

“I’m just saying,” Jack stated rather proudly with a cocky grin that tilted to the left side. His dimple showed itself momentarily and left a warm feeling flutter in your chest as it always had a way of melting even the coldest of hearts. “Imitating voices are easy. I could teach you, if you wanted.” With a flick of his wrist, he sent the deck of cards resting in his hands into a frenzy before relaxing them once again. His fingers continued to tap against them. Being stuck in one place, in what would be considered ‘intense hiding’ was doing absolutely nothing for his restlessness. Sitting in an armchair, his legs dangling over the side with the occasional kick of his feet in a sporadic rhythm. He held himself with such a casual confidence it left you feeling vaguely jealous and wondering as to how he accomplished such a slacked appearance.

Jack gazed up at you with deep brown eyes. The sun sunk through the window across from where he was sitting, accentuating the curves of his face and lightning his eyes so they appeared a shade or two lighter than they actually were. His eyelashes framed his eyes and seemed to be on fire as the sunlight dripped onto his skin. Jack’s eyes spoke many things at once but the most prominent emotion happened to be on the more mischievous side. He flicked his wrist once again and the rapid movement of the deck of cards brought you back into reality, away from the seemingly inevitable daydream sitting across from you. “Have you really heard my voice enough to imitate me?” You finally inquired moments after being mesmerized by him.

Jack’s face faltered for a moment as he thought about it, that once beautiful smirk dipping into a slight frown before turning into a full on smile. It was a dramatic change of facial expressions which was something he was also good at executing. A soft chuckle left his parted lips and with a gentle clearing of his throat, he began speaking. “Yeah, I’d like to think I listen to you. Even when you don’t know it.”

“What do you mean?” You laughed quietly, fixing your eyes on the cards on his hands. “Even when I don’t know it?”

“Yesterday,” He used as an example, “when you were talking to Danny in the kitchen. You were complaining. I’m glad you were, I wasn’t sure what you would have sounded like when complaining. Even when you complain to me, it sounds different.”

Raising your eyebrows in amusement, you smiled and asked, “What do I sound like when I’m complaining?”

Your request seemed to amuse him as he brought his legs down and propped himself properly on the armchair. His shirt rode up for a few seconds with his movement, catching your eyes. Resting his hands on his thighs, Jack leaned forward and shot a more heated grin at you this time. You caught his eyes this time and kept them locked before Jack opened his mouth. He laughed while you expecting to hear him speak. Biting down on his bottom lip, Jack’s smile twirled into a childish expression. “I can’t do it with you staring at me like that. So much pressure.”

He was playing around, you could tell from the tone of voice he had used. Slightly raised and a bit more frantic. “Please.” You laughed your plea and covered your mouth.

Jack laughed as well, looking to the side before clearing his throat once again. “Please.” The sound that came out of his mouth was one that sounded exactly like you did. As strange as it was as well, Jack had moved his face in a gesture that mimicked your expressions..

“I don’t sound like that, do I?” You gasped, throwing your head back in a chuckle.

“I don’t sound like that, do I?” Jack’s voice dipped back to normal at the end of the sentence. He couldn’t control himself from laughing. “You really do sound like that.”

“How awful.” You grimaced playfully.

“Awful?” Jack’s face scrunched into disbelief. “I think you sound cute. Trust me (Name), I spend my nights sitting in bed trying to talk like you, but for the longest time I couldn’t get it just right.” Jack stood up, resting the deck of cards on the table in the middle of the living room. He took a few steps towards you, his heavy boots pattering against the floor as he did. There was no logical sense in being dressed with when you were in hiding, but still Jack found himself getting up and getting ready. It was a precautionary thing, he told you once, you always have to be ready to run. “There’s just something about your voice that I can’t seem to grasp.”

“Maybe you didn’t practice enough.” You teased.

“Nah.” He shrugged his slender shoulders and sat next to you on the loveseat. Gesturing with his hands, he rolled his hand from his throat to you and admitted, “Your voice has a quality that I can’t imitate just right. I guess I love you too much, so it makes it hard to imitate that sort of emotion.” This was something you knew but hearing him say it was something that left you feeling weak in the knees. You were thankful you were sitting because you were sure if you were standing you would have fallen completely. Jack seemed a bit more bashful now as he let that be said. His cheeks held a soft pink color and his eyes were staring straight forward.

It was your turn to shrug your shoulders as you fiddled with your fingers, “Why would that matter?”

“Because I like the way your voice sounds when you speak.” He turned his attention to you finally, his dark brown eyes drowning into yours. His body leaned towards you, “I like the way you talk to me. You don’t talk to anyone else they same way.”

Smiling cutely, you brushed two fingers across his right eyebrow before dropping them down his cheek, “That’s because I love you too much.”

Jack nodded and bit his bottom lip while tipping his head towards your fingers, “You can copy my phrases but you still sound nothing like me.”

“I don’t want to sound like you.” You admitted, “I don’t want anyone to sound like you, Jack. I love the way you sound…”

Stuck Together - Eddie Kaspbrak/Richie Tozier

Pairing: Eddie Kaspbrak/Richie Tozier (side Billy Denbrough/Stanley Uris)

Word Count: 4190 (it just… I don’t what happened…)

Warnings: Warnings: So there’s a bit of sadness in the middle but that’s it.

Request: Anon: Can you please do a reddie soulmate au fic? The one where it is impossible to lie to your soulmate. But like, that doesn’t come into affect until they know they’re soulmates? Okay so hear me out. Maybe you only know who your soulmate is when a matching tattoo appears after a significant moment together or something like that? You can mess with it if you’d like but just something along those lines maybe? Thank you so much!

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I decided to go with the second part of the request because while I understand what you mean I think the markings appearing after sharing a significant moment was something I could work with better and make something a bit longer. I threw some side Stenbrough in there. Hope you don’t mind.
Also I know I really downplayed Eddie’s mom’s mania over her sons well being but honestly so much wouldn’t have worked in this fic if I didn’t. Sorry that she’s a bit ooc.
Also thank you so much to @wyattghouleff for looking over the fic and coming up the name when I was struggling!
The first one to notice that something had changed is Stan.
It was three weeks after everything that had happened. After they, hopefully, killed a clown in the bowls of Derry itself. Since Stan had almost died, since Henry Bowers “disappeared” and the town Sheriff apparently bleeding to death in his living room. It’s been three weeks since Eddie was convinced that he and all his friends were going to end up alongside the other missing children in their fucked up little town. Floating until they were nothing but rotting flesh and bone and maggots.
The thought alone made his stomach roll and his anxiety rocket right up.
More importantly, it’d been three weeks since he stood up to his mother and the tight reins that she’d constantly lead him around by had loosened.
He, Eddie Kaspbrak, was now allowed to have friends over. That being said, Stan was usually allowed over regardless, considering he was thought to be the least bad influence on Eddie in his mother’s eyes. Still, Bill had gotten to come over and stayed the night the week before and much to Eddie’s endless surprise Richie had been allowed past the front door, instead of having to resort to climbing through Eddie’s window under the veil of night.
Oh, his mother still tried to make him take his bullshit pills which he simply refused but he figured that he still carried everything else around in his fanny pack and with that she was appeased.
Right. Change. Stan.
It was three weeks later when the curly haired boy cleared his throat, back against Eddie’s bedroom wall, legs hanging off the side of his bed and a book flipped open on his lap, one that Eddie was sure Stan hadn’t actually been reading since they’d hurried up to his room.
Eddie turned his head so to look at his friend, waiting for him to continue while trying to scratch an itch stubbornly just beyond where his fingers could reach under his cast.
Stan was caught between looking at Eddie and his book. “Majestic Birds of the New England Area.”
“I uh, I think…” slowly his cheek began coloring pink near the top and his fingers reached up, fiddling with one of his curls. Eddie could tell that whatever Stann was trying to say he was nervous about. Stan only actively messed with his hair if he was nervous. “I think I have a soulmark.”
The pencil that Eddie was trying to write with dropped from his suddenly slack grip and his mouth fell open in surprise. Stan became ever redder, his legs drew up so that his knees were close to his chest and he could wrap his arms around them, bird book squashed uncomfortably between them and his chest.
“No fucking way.” Is what Eddie managed to get out after a tense moment of silence. Stan looked like he wanted to laugh and be sick at the same time, face instead settling into his neutral mask while he watched Eddie process the information he’d been given.
There was another moment of quiet when Eddie finally stood up.
“Show me.”
Hesitantly. Stan uncurled his legs and scooted to the edge of the bed, Eddie sat down beside him but Stan shuffled away so that was space between their sides. Eddie didn’t really get why at first until Stan’s hand went to the hem of his shirt, tugging up until the fabric was pulled high enough to expose the bottom of his ribs.
Right there, above where Eddie knew Stan’s “floating rib” should sit was two hands, palm to palm, fingers laced together.
“Oh shit.” Once again, not the eloquence that Eddie would have like to speak with, but really, he was all too surprised. None of the Losers, to his knowledge at least, had a soulmark. It wasn’t something that was super uncommon but definitely a rarity among younger kids not even in highschool yet.
“Yeah,” Stan replied, his voice whispery as his fingers moved to draw across the little soul tattoo on his body.
“Do you know-”
“No,” Stan said, tenser than he’d been the moment before. He dropped the end of his shirt from his hand and began to fiddle with a curl again. Eddie wanted to offer some kind of comfort for him but he just couldn’t think of what to do. “You know,” Stan continued, “you’re actually the first person I’ve told.”
They lapse into the silence again.
“Oh, uh, wow…” Eddie really didn’t know what to say to that. He looked down at his hands, clasped together on his lap and then to his cast before migrating his gaze back to still his embarrassed friend. “Why?” Because while Stan and Eddie were good friends and had been for a long time Eddie figured that the taller boy would have told Bill first.
While Eddie was thinking this Stan didn’t respond, looking like he was caught up in his own head at the moment.
Oh.
“Oh.” Eddie gets it in a sudden and almost imperceivable connection of dots. Of course, Stan wouldn’t tell Bill first. “You didn’t want to tell Bill first because if he doesn’t have one that means he’s not your soulmate right?” He asks it quietly because his walls are thin and if his ma heard him talking about this kind of thing she probably wouldn’t take too kindly to letting Stan up in Eddie’s room anymore.
Of course, same-sex soul marks are just as common as any other but this was Derry and stuff like that is kept under wraps and out of the faces of people who might not be as accepting of others. Like Eddie’s mother.
A shudder went through his body at the thought of her finding out about him and what preferences he was starting to notice about himself.
Eddie thought he heard a sniffle from his right and remembered, this isn’t about him. Stan needed him right then like how he needed him in the tunnels. Like they’ve all always needed each other.
When Eddie looked he could tell that Stan was trying to hold back frustrated tears, his hands now fisted into Eddie’s comforter on either side of his legs and his bottom lip caught between his teeth, breath shuddering out in careful bursts.
Eddie did the only thing he could think of and slung his arm around Stan’s shoulders. Eddie usually didn’t like touching people but his friend required this comfort and Eddie was able to give it to him so he did.
It was another three weeks when they’re all at the Quarry together, Eddie with bags under his eyes. So much had changed since Stan told him about his soul mark but one constant that remained was Eddie’s nightmare plagued dreams. They woke him up at all hours and refused to let him settle back down into sleep.
Visions of lepers, hundreds of them swarming to get him, of blood-soaked clowns dancing around his body, and of his friends, all white-eyed and hovering off the ground, like Bev had been.
One of the biggest changes was that apparently, the majority of The Losers Club had developed little marks like Stan’s.
Ben had been the first to reveal his mark to the group a day after Stan had done the very same with Eddie. His mark was on his shoulder, close-up like it wanted to crawl toward his collar instead. It was an orange flame. Everyone wanted to touch it, Eddie and Stan feigning awe at the little tattoo.
Bev was the last to feel the smooth patch of color and when her fingers brushed over the little flame, something completely unexpected and crazy happened.
A flame of her own bled into existence on the back of her hand, slow, like it was taking the time to bleed into every layer of her skin until it was just as vibrant as Ben’s. Soulmates.
Eddie spared a glance to Bill, knowing that he probably wasn’t taking the news all too well. The boy’s expression was sour but under it accepting of the truth, his hand up by his heart, clenching and unclenching unconsciously over the fabric of his shirt. Stan went to stand beside Billy in silent support. Eddie noted a bit of the tension he’d been holding the day before dripping away from his shoulders.
Eddie guessed when your biggest competition was someone else’s soulmate it was a bit easier to hope that your crush might just be yours.
There was some debate running around as to why the mark had taken so long to form and why at different times. All anyone really knew for sure that a shared experience was what tied soulmates together.
Unfortunately, that could mean anything and it didn’t help Eddie narrow down who Stan’s might be. He could have bumped into someone and apologized, thanked a young clerk at the grocery store, talked to a neighbor boy for the first time, killed a clown with his group of friends.
Eddie hoped for Stan’s sake it was the latter of those options because then that, at least, brought the options to three, Bill, Mike or…Richie. Eddie practically shook the twist in his stomach away. He knew that Stan and he couldn’t be soul mates, Eddie had done an extensive check of his body, no mark to be found and he figured if it was going to be a delayed thing it would have happened like Bev’s had.
A week passed from Ben’s reveal and while the group of friends was waiting by the ice cream truck Richie came tearing down the main street, hollering, swerving dangerously into a stop in front of them before practically throwing himself off his bike.
“Dudes, dudes, I got one! I got one too!” For a beat everyone was confused. Then dread began to pool in the middle of Eddie’s stomach, cold and heavy like a ball of ice. He turned to look at Stan, swallowing harshly as the curly haired boy looked back, equally terrified.
Eddie felt like he needed his inhaler.
Richie didn’t give his friends any time to really ask anything, already reaching for the top of his ratty jeans by his hip, pulling down the fabric just enough for them all to see the little design against the jutting bone.
It looked like a roll of white tape.
For some reason the chilling dread doesn’t lift from Eddie’s chest, only clenched tighter like a vice. At least he didn’t match with Stan, and out of the corner of his eye, Eddie could see the boy sagging with relief as they shared the same thought.
Everyone took turns touching it and when Eddie placed the tips of his fingers to the mark it seems like maybe both he and Richie were holding their breath. It was probably just his imagination though. Nothing happened and Richie thought for a painful moment his heart might actually be breaking when he pulled away from his best friend. He swallowed down the numbing hurt and give a faint “neat,” before going back to where he’d left his and Richie’s ice cream.
Stan gave him such an understanding look that it made Eddie want to punch him. But it wasn’t his fault so he didn’t.
And now they were all at the Quarry. Eddie didn’t want to admit it, even to himself, but he’d been intentionally spending time away from Richie. It sucked but really, feeling like there was glass in his heart, sharp points of pain that were hard to breathe around, sucked just as much. He couldn’t avoid a group hang out though. Besides, his ma would think she was winning the battle if he stayed cooped up in the house for too long.
They were all at the water’s edge, Ben and Beverly sitting together with their legs in the water.
Eddie was sitting with Stan, watching Bill, Mike and Richie converse, something like an argument brewing over the fact that Bill apparently didn’t want to go swimming.
“Come on Bill,” Richie said loudly, drawing out the second word like some kind of child. “We came here to swim so let’s swim.”
“You gu-guys can g-g-g do it. I’m f-f-fine.” He crossed his arms over his torso. Something was fishy about the whole thing, Bill loved swimming with everyone.
“Dude, seriously? You’ve been buggy all week. Just hop in with us for a bit?” When Richie was being sincere there wasn’t much that Billy can do but give in. He was just that kind of person.
“Ugh, f-fine.” Richie didn’t bother to hold back his triumphant smirk, him and Mike already pulling off their clothes to get into the water.
Almost insecurely Billy started to draw his shirt over his head. Eddie watched the odd behavior, Stan beside him, looking off into the forest with his binoculars, scouting for birds. If Richie hadn’t turned back to Bill and shouted: “dude what the fuck?!” Eddie might not have noticed anything at first and Stan surely wouldn’t have startled and whipped around, a scowl on his face to reprimand Richie.
They were both stopped short by what was on Bill’s chest.
Even from this distance, Eddie knew what it was because he’d seen it before.
Right above where Bill’s heart would just behind his ribs was a soulmark.
Two hands, palms touching, fingers laced together.
Beside him, he could hear Stan’s binoculars dropping to the ground with a careless thunk.
Eddie could barely hear what was being said from the trio ten feet away.
“- ju-just did-didn’t think it wa-wa-was that import-t-tant.”
The crystal cold feeling wormed its way into Eddie’s chest, looping through his bones and seizing his limbs. He knew he shouldn’t be feeling like that, not when Stan was probably going to break down with happiness but Eddie couldn’t help it really. In some sick way, he had been almost glad that Stan’s mark didn’t match with anyone because that meant he was feeling what Eddie was feeling, and now Eddie was alone with that feeling because Stan’s mark did match someone. It matched Bill Denbrough, basically the love and Stan’s life and Eddie, Eddie didn’t get to have that.
Eddie and Stan picked themselves up from the ground, Richie was dragging a flustered, shirtless Bill over to their small fraction of The Losers Club.
“Guys look-”
“Beep beep Richie,” Stan’s voice was surprisingly steady when he cut the other boy off and took a step forward. A hush fell over the entire group. The thick energy filling the air seemed to be reaching all of them. It was almost like with Bev and Ben when Stan looked pointedly at Bill’s mark and then into his eyes.
Bill was slack-jawed, expression open as an understanding passed between them. Stan’s partially worried expression lightened, the corners of his mouth pulled up into a smile, Bill’s expression did the same and it was all too much for Eddie. He couldn’t take it. He really couldn’t. Because after everything, the gray water, the leper, the fucking clown, and Richie’s unmatched mark that Eddie didn’t have, he really couldn’t handle anymore.
He stepped back from the circle that had started to form around Stan and Billy. Unfortunately, Eddie tripped over a small rock in his haste and drew the attention away from the new pair of soulmates and onto himself.
“I uh, I gotta get home,” he kept backing up as he said it, “I’m getting the cast removed tomorrow so I gotta go home and rest up so yeah.” Eddie wouldn’t say that he ran away exactly but he wasn’t slow about his retreat.
The pressure that had been building up in his chest was getting too tight and Eddie wanted to cry but he wouldn’t, he couldn’t.
The sound of someone coming up the trail behind him gave Eddie reason to pause. He didn’t though, just continued to trudge up toward the road so he could walk home.
“Dude! Eds, wait up!” Richie called from behind him. Eddie felt the claws in his chest sink harder, not even able to call back for the other to not call him that.
Richie’s footsteps grew louder as he raced to catch up with the other boy. Eddie didn’t want to run but the urge was there. He could not deal with this, with Richie, right now. A hand reached forward and fingers curled around Eddie’s arm, right above his cast. Richie pulled him to a stop and Eddie spun around, yanking his arm away from Richie’s grasp.
For a moment, neither of them said anything.
“Eds what the hell was that back there?” Richie sounded more concerned than Eddie had been expecting. He’d been like that since the tunnels, still Richie but almost more considerate. Eddie bristled at the tone. He’d much rather have Richie trying to make a joke at his expense then whatever he was doing at the moment.
“Nothing, like I said, I need to get home,” the excuse even sounded weak to his own ears. Richie gave a single bark of sarcastic laughter and rolled his eyes.
“Right. Since when are you listening to her mom again?” Eddie wanted to retort but Richie just kept going in the way that he always did. “It this about Stan and Bill’s soul marks? Is it ‘cause they didn’t tell you or because they match each other? Is it cause you don’t have one?” Eddie felt his body tense almost automatically for as unobservant as Richie usually was, he noticed the change immediately, the effect of his words being so close to the truth. “Really Eds is that it, I mean -”
Eddie’s fingers were curled up at his sides into tight fists.
“Beep fucking beep Richie,” and surprisingly it worked.
Eddie wondered as he turned around and stormed out onto the main road toward his house, Richie left standing there, shocked still, if it was because of the harsh tone he’d used or the way his eyes were glossy with unshed tears. Maybe it was the tremble in his lip or the way his shoulders were starting to shake that made Richie stop. Eddie didn’t know and really Eddie didn’t care because he needed to get to the safety of his bedroom before he broke down. Smack in the middle of Derry is not where he’d want anyone to see him turn into a crybaby.
He made it home in record time and managed to avoid his mother on his way up the stairs.
The next day as he was loaded up into his ma’s car on the way to the hospital his eyes are rimmed harshly with red and thankfully the older women next to him didn’t say anything about how it was clearly from crying. She only went so far as to remind her son to take his allergy pill.
Both Stan and Richie had tried calling a number of times the night before. Sometime around midnight, he thought he could hear the tell-tale clacking of pebbles against his window, Richie trying to get his attention. Eddie had simply rolled, facing away from the locked window and clutched a pillow over his head, begging the nightmares to drag him into a restless sleep so he wouldn’t have to deal with it anymore. Anything to put the day behind him.
Getting his cast off was terrifying, he had to look away when the doctor and nurse brought out the saw. He knew through extensive research that the blade was dull and moved in a way that it won’t actually touch him. He still couldn’t watch when he heard the whirring sound of the blade started up.
The process was painless, only a dull tickling sensation over his arm as the cast vibrated and subsequently split in two. The nurse went to work wiping down his arm while his doctor looked over where the break had been before even though they had already done an x-ray to confirm that all was as it should be.
It was only when his arm was turned over to inspect the underside did his nurse let out a faint and surprised “oh!”
“Oh?” Eddie questioned, his voice cracking with panic. “Oh, what?”
He was thankful that his mother wasn’t in the room with him when it was revealed what the women holding his arm had seen.
A white roll of tape on the inside of his wrist.
Eddie didn’t know if what he was feeling was the actual overpowering relief flooding his veins or that fact that he might pass out any second.
The rest of the checkup went as planned and Eddie managed to get his spinning mind under control to answer his doctor’s questions. When his ma came to collect him Eddie was waiting for the moment that the nurse or his physician would tell her about his little soul mark. Neither of them did and his mother thankfully didn’t examine his arm.
Once he was home Eddie wasted no time what so ever. Going for his slightly dusty bike, chain creaky from disuse, the boy popped back the kickstand, and against his mother’s loud and worried protests rode out of his driveway and toward Richie’s house.
As he rode Eddie wondered if Stan had felt like this when he’d seen his mark matching perfectly over Bill’s heart. It felt like a warm pulse was thrumming through his body and the only thing on his brain, playing over and over again on a loop was “Richie Tozier is my soulmate, Richie Tozier is my soulmate, Richie Tozier is my fucking soulmate…”
Richie’s house was normally a ten-minute bike ride away. Eddie made it in seven.
Without a care for his beloved mode of transportation, Eddie threw his bike down and hurried up the porch to Richie’s front door. He wasn’t surprised to see that both of the Tozier’s cars were out. They were almost never home.
Eddie knocked on the door, three times in loud succession. He heard the sound of stomping feet approaching and took the few seconds it would take Richie to open to door to feel nervous. A fluttering wave of nausea over the thought that maybe, regardless of what having a soulmate really was, Richie wouldn’t want Eddie to be his.
Once the door was swung back and Richie could take in the sight of his friend, Eddie wasn’t scared anymore. If Stan could do it then so could he.
Richie crossed his arms around his middle looking both worried and miffed simultaneously.
“Are you here to yell at me more?” He was trying to sound indifferent but Eddie new when his best friend was putting up a front.
Not saying anything Eddie held his arm out, wrist facing up toward Richie who just rose a brow in confusion at the shorter boy before glancing down and freezing, his whole body becoming statuesque as he stared, wide-eyed through coke bottle glasses at the tape (which Eddie now recognized as medical tape) soul mark on his wrist.
Richie only had time for his lips to curl into a smile and the tips of his fingers to brush over Eddie’s mark before the other was stepping forward into his space, clutching a handful of his shirt by the already stretched collar and tugging him down.
Richie was surprised enough by the sudden action that he didn’t even register for a moment that Eddie’s mouth was now on his and that they were technically kissing, or, well, Eddie was kissing him. Once he did realize Richie closed his eyes and pressed his lips back to Eddie’s chapped ones.
As first kisses went Eddie hadn’t known what he’d been expecting. Probably not the uncomfortable glasses digging into his face, or Richie’s nose pressed almost harshly against his own, nor the faint hint of Cheetos mingled between their mouths. Regardless of those little things Eddie had to admit it was kind of perfect.
He pulled away and Richie smiled at him, leaning down again to reconnect their lips.
First kisses might be perfect, Eddie thought to himself, but second, and third and fourth ones were just as good.
It’s during nights like these that you love and hate magic all at the same time.
Long gone are the ghastly days of running and hiding, when abilities not considered normal were chased instead of celebrated. You are fortunate enough not to have lived through those dark times, but your family did, and their memories are vivid enough for a lifetime. Their past is a heavy reminder of an old battle that your kind won and lost at the same time, a thick scar that is healed but rough to the touch.
It is easy to harbor resentment towards non magic users, but it is also easy to forget a quarrel ever existed when you hold the hands of your customers and read their emotions out loud, receiving gasps of awe and admiration looks from young kids that squeeze your hands back as tightly as they can. All day and night people line up in front of your quaint tent within the Magic Circus, hoping to receive a dose of reality they cannot grasp themselves, because emotions are a tricky thing — they are fleeting and confusing and can transform into something entirely different in less than a second, like playing with the ripples of a fast paced river.
Chapter 210 thoughts.
Chapter 210 has become one of my favorites. I love it that we got to see tianshan communicate, be playful, help each other out, flirt and he tian’s loving looks warmed up my heart. The theme of this chapter is trust.
Let’s dissect it a bit:
First panel, He Tian has woken bright and early and was already somewhere close to Guan Shan’s house waiting for him. He waits 30 minutes before he makes the phone call to question where Guan Shan is at. For He Tian standards, he’s pretty calm. I think we would have expected He Tian to call him within 5 minutes since we know he has a temper, but this time he kept his cool and actually waited around. His tone is pretty calm as well, maybe he’s worried that something happened to Guan Shan?
Second panel is fanservice for sure from Old Xian, look at that baby fox just sprawled on the bed half naked. yup, this is a bl folks! check out what He Tian is getting to touch! AnywAys….
Now we officially know who is the the one to sleep in and who’s the morning person. I suspect that He Tian is the one who sleeps very little and it takes him a while to get to sleep while for Guan Shan, he could fall asleep anywhere for hours and is definitely not a morning person. Can you imagine He Tian laying in bed, smoking his first cigarette of the day, watching Guan Shan sleep and thinking he’s the luckiest guy in the world because he has such an amazing boyfriend by his side? ah, my heart <3
I've been here for quite a while and it's no doubt ur a great writer I love ya work a lot❤️ Can I request a BTS reaction to them finding your tumblr account one day and realizing it's full of smut, reblogs, memes, etc.
My best guy friend asked me for my tumblr url since his girlfriend is always on here. haha. no.
also turning this into them finding the smut you read on your tumblr, you know in celebration of smut saturday
Jin:
He’d find it flattering, maybe even a little weird at first. When he’d see the memes he’d laugh and when he’d see all the pictures of himself that you’ve liked or reblogged his head would get big. But when he sat the smut you liked popped up he’d read it slack jawed. “Wow Jagi, I didnt know you thought I was THIS handsome. If you wanted to have sex you could have just told me” He’d say making you panic and blush that he’d seen your privet space.
Yoongi:
Y/n get out here RIGHT NOW!’ He’d call, smiling wildly as his eyes wondered over your computer screen. The moment he knew you were in normal talking distance he’d start to read out one of the Smuts you had reblogged causing you to race forward and slam the computer shut. ‘You sleep next to me every night, why are you reading this crap!’ He’d say, still laughing. ‘Leave me alone, I miss you sometimes and they aren’t crap.’ You’d say folding your arms. He’d playfully pinch your hips and bring you closer. ‘Lets make one of these come to life how about that?’
Namjoon:
Seeing your collection of smut you be like finding your porn stash. He’d read a bit of the things you like, smiling to himself when ever a he saw something that remind of him of something you had started to do, he’d also take notes about the things you seemed to like just by your readings. He wouldn’t bring it up till the two of were a few glasses of wine deep after dinner where he’d simply say ‘So I borrowed your computer today.’ And you’d know EXACTLY what he was talking about.
Hoseok:
The moment he saw what it was you were reading in your free time he’d begin to scream, falling to the floor for dramatic effect, until you ran into the room and frantically started asking him if he hurt himself. He’d just point to your screen and start laughing when you rocked back and covered your eyes with your hands. He’d start teasing you then. ‘you really loooove me, you want my booooodyy, you want to kisses meeeeeee.’
Jimin:
Reading it himself would turn him on and he’d smile to himself when ever he got to replace ‘y/n’ with yours. He’d keep reading until you got home, now not knowing what to do with himself if he were to stop. When you got home you wouldn’t even have a chance to put your things down before he was pressing his body to yours. He wouldn’t care, he’d do you right there on the couch. When you were finished and your naked body was resting on top of his you’d turn your head, only to see the smut that he had obviously been reading. ‘Jimin, did you read smut about yourself?’
Taehyung:
He’d shut your computer screen as fast as he could as soon as he realized what it was he was reading. When you scolded him for being so rough with your computer, opening the top to make sure he hadn’t cracked it you’d freeze. ‘Um…’ You’d say closing your computer softer now. You two would sit there for a minute before Tae tried to stifle a giggle, which would act like a domino effect, the two of you now laughing loudly.
Jungkook:
He’d continue to scroll, a wide smile on his face that he wouldn’t try to hide when you walked into the room. When you asked him what was so funny he wouldn’t even answer, just continue to scroll till you showed up next to him. Even after you had shrieked, snatched the device from his hands and turned in away in embarrassment he’d still be starting at you with the same goofy grin. ‘I swear to god, stop looking at me like that.’ You’d say pointing a finger at him. He’d just respond by yanking the hand outstretched to him. ‘You’re alot dirtier than I thought you were.’
