Ok hear me out though
-moon water (filtered and potable)
-star wars Mac n cheese, or any other space themed
-rosemary, bay leaf, sage, and/or thyme
-pink himalayan salt
Fill pot with potable moon water (which is water you can drink left in the moonlight for some time) and boil
As the water heats to a boil, stir counterclockwise 8 times to cleanse and add some regular salt
Continue to follow the directions on the box, but also add whichever of the herb(s) listed you want or have, plus the pepper and pink salt, along with whatever else the box calls for after draining (usually cheese powder, milk and butter) and then mix by stirring clockwise in 9s
Give thanks for the meal or meditate briefly to charge, eat to cast
i just read a buzfeed list about us/uk differences and my favorite one is that amercians don’t know what squash is and they don’t drink it at all.
this reminded me of when joe’s sister-in-law (who is a mexican lady who grew up in chicago) was in our kitchen during her first visit to the uk and proceeded to pour an entire pint glass of orange squash without diluting it with water (which is what you’re meant to do) and it just did not occur to me to stop her… i thought she was just being hardcore or something… and she drank it and just… gagged and SPRAYED it across the room and everyone in it.
she was like WTF IS WRONG WITH YOUR JUICE????!?!!! and i told her that she just drank pure concentrated SYRUP and she didn’t understand. i then put the water in it and she loves it now
TL;DR Elsa could cause your veins to explode if she wanted to
Can we take a minute to appreciate how horrifyingly brutal Elsa could be. As shown in Frozen, Elsa can freeze water into ice. She can also turn people to ice, however she could be far more brutal: Elsa could freeze the water in your blood!
Blood is like 70% (ish) plasma, which is largely water. Freezing water unlike most particles causes the volume of space taken up by that H2O to expand (rather than contract). This means that the internal pressure caused by freezing your blood plamsa would cause your veins, arteries and capilliaries to EXPLODE while inside you, causing massive interal hemorrhaging (internal bleeding, aka bruising but much much worse).
This pressure would also cause your tissue and bone to expand and become brittle, not only would your heart and other muscles be unable to move, your bones could suddenly microfracture all over your body due to expanding ice and water in them and the marrow within.
Aries: Jörmungandr- The jörmungandr, which can be found in Norse mythology, is also known as World Serpent. As a baby, the monster was thrown into the ocean by Odin. By the time it had grown, it was large enough to wrap itself around the earth and grasp its own tail. Legend says that it is still holding onto its own tail and the day it releases it, various natural disasters and battles will ensue known as Ragnarök. Ragnarök will end up destroying the world.
Taurus: Cuchivilu- The cuchivilu is an aquatic creature from Chilota mythology. It is approximately the size of a sea lion and is half pig, half snake. This creature inhabits the bottom of the sea and occasionally will rest on the muddy, shallow shores. They can also be found in lagoons and swamps. You should always be careful when wading or bathing near a cuchivilu because if you do, soon you will be covered in grains and scabies. The grunt of a cuchivilu is also said to curse you with a short life. The creature will destroy fishing pens and eat all of the fish- the water in which this is done is then cursed and no fisherman will ever be able to catch another fish.
Gemini: Aspidochelone- Described as a large whale or sea turtle, it is a sea monster that is so enormous it is often mistaken for an island. This is understandable because the back of the aspidochelone is covered with rocks, valleys, sand dunes, trees and other greenery. It comes to the surface from the depths of the ocean and entices sailors to land upon it. It then dives deep, pulling its victims deep under the water where they are then devoured.
Cancer: Umibōzu- The umibōzu is a Japanese sea spirit said to live in the ocean and destroy or capsize the ship of anyone who dares speak to it. Believed to be the angry spirits of drowned monks or priests, they take on the shape of a giant human with pitch black skin and large eyes. Sometimes instead of capsizing the ship right away, the umibōzu will ask the crew members for a barrel and then use it to fill the ship with water, eventually sinking it. The only way to avoid this fate is to trick the umibōzu by giving it a bottomless barrel. Only then will you have a chance to escape.
Leo: Kraken- This legendary sea monster is one feared by many. It is said to dwell off the coasts of Norway and Greenland. Stories of the monster may have originated from giant squid sightings. The Kraken is depicted as a large octopus-like creature with spikes on it’s suckers. It will attack ships or eat them whole. It also is known to create very sudden and very dangerous currents.
Virgo: Siren- Sirens are dangerous creatures that can be found in Greek mythology. Using their enchanting music and voices, they lure nearby sailors, causing their ship to crash on the coast of the siren’s island. Now trapped, the sirens kill and eat them. Sometimes, instead of being lured, the sailors are lulled to sleep with the creature’s beautiful voice. Once asleep, the sirens come aboard the ship and kill them. In early Greek art, sirens are depicted as woman-bird hybrids. Later, they were depicted to resemble beautiful and seductive women. In addition to their beautiful appearance and voice, they can also be heard playing a harp.
Libra: Abaia- The abaia is a large and magical eel-like creature which can be found in Melanesian mythology. It is said to dwell in freshwater lakes. The abaia considers all of the creatures in the lake to be its children. Therefore, it will kill anyone who tries to harm or disturb them. Legend says that once a man fished in the lake of an abaia and caught an abundance of fish. The next day, he brought all of the townspeople to fish some more. This angered the abaia. The next day, the abaia caused a huge rainstorm which significantly raised the water level, flooding the town and drowning everyone in it with exception of one woman who did not eat any of the fish.
Scorpio: Leviathan- The leviathan is an extremely powerful and terrifying biblical creature. During the Middle Ages, it was used as an image of Satan. The leviathan would endanger God’s creatures by attempting to eat them. It is known to be one of the Seven Princes of Hell, classified as the demon of envy. It can also breathe fire, sometimes boiling the surrounding water which completely melts the skin off of unsuspecting victims. When the leviathan consumes its prey, the victim’s life, knowledge and complexity are absorbed into the monster.
Sagittarius: Each-uisge- This creature is a mythological Scottish water spirit and can be found near a water’s edge. It is a shapeshifter, usually disguising itself as a beautiful horse. It lures victims through it’s sheer beauty and majesty. If ever mounted, the skin of the each-uisge becomes adhesive and it dives to the deepest part of the nearest body of water with the rider helplessly stuck on its back. After the victim has drowned, it rips apart and devours the entire body except for the liver, which then floats to the surface.
Capricorn: Charybdis- This horrifying beast is sometimes portrayed simply as a massive whirlpool. Other times, it is depicted as an actual creature that lies at the bottom of the ocean and create whirlpools by sucking in thousands of gallon of water and spewing it out. If a ship was caught in the middle of it, there would be no chance of survival as the ship and crew would be dragged down to the deepest depths of the ocean never to be seen again.
Aquarius: Hydra- The hydra, which originated in Greek mythology, is a giant snake-like creature with nine heads, one of which is immortal. If one head was cut off, two more would emerge from the fresh wound. It’s poisonous breath and blood are so toxic that even its scent is deadly. The hydra is native to the marshes of Lerna, Greece, where it would periodically appear and eat the people and livestock.
Pisces: Qalupalik- The qalupalik is a monster from Inuit mythology. They can be described as human-like creatures with green skin, long hair and long blackened fingernails. They are also known to wear an amautiit (a type of pouch worn by Inuit parents to carry their children) so they can take away babies and children who disobey their parents. What they do with the children is unknown. Some say they eat them and others say they keep them as their own. Qalupaliks are also said to make a distinct humming noise when they are around. One can hear it before they can see it.

If you’re a woman and have a Facebook and/or an Instagram account, you’ve come across someone celebrating their supposed weight loss due to some combination of the words “tea,” “tummy,” “flat,” “booty” and/or “fit.”
That’s because someone in your life or your follow list, eager to figure out “the secret” to a leaner body, has decided to plunk down an exorbitant number of dollars for a product that promises to “detoxify your intestinal tract free of built-up toxins and reduce water weight,” claiming that these are “two of the main reasons why some days you look and feel five months pregnant.”
These teas are often little more than an overpriced version of the exact same tea sold in your local grocery store (for 10% of what it sells for online), and that’s if you’re lucky. The ingredients — often a blend of black tea and green tea with something called either cassia or senna — are always the same, because those three ingredients are the key to the only actual effect of the tea, which is the water weight loss and extreme amounts of toilet time. • Harvested acorn shells
• Wax bits from old candles
• Old incense stick bottoms
• Lavander flower (optional)
》 Melt the wax (wax burner or old tin can and an old pot full of water on the stove works well for this), pour into shells, stick the wicks in and blow softly for a few seconds… wax will harden and the candle is done! Repeat for as many as you’d like to make!
☆ These candles are wonderful for small or short spells AND they float on water which makes them extra fun! Enjoy! ☆
I am so sick and tired of white Canadians trying to defend themselves by saying that because they aren’t personally racist, there’s no race issue in Canada, when, in the next sentence, they’ll go on to tell indigenous peoples to “get over” what’s happened to us and that the government should cut off funding to us because all we do is waste it and beg for more… the reason indigenous peoples in Canada are protesting is because we want the same chances and the same basic human respect that other Canadians have. Indigenous peoples can’t even put a tipi up on Parliament Hill alongside “official” Canada Day celebrations because that offends all the white people who don’t think they have anything to do with the ongoing colonization of these lands and don’t want to be reminded of it. Let me lay it down for you:
Whether your family came here 1 or 5 generations ago, you have access to opportunities that indigenous Canadians will never get access to
you will have a home with clean drinking water, which over 100 indigenous communities in Canada do not have access to
you will have access to healthcare and education for yourselves or your children, which many indigenous children do not have access to
you will have the opportunity to integrate into Canadian society, which many indigenous peoples do not
Your existence on these lands is at the expense of indigenous peoples. The system was created to protect and provide for you, and not us. You came into these resources at the expense of our wellbeing. And all we want is to be heard. We want equal opportunities that were stolen from us YEARS ago that YOU benefit from to this day by the simple act of existing. We’re not asking to take opportunities away from you, we’re not asking to send you back where you came from. We’re literally just asking to be treated as equals.
decided to start a masterpost for young witchlings who sadly must hide their way of life. THIS IS UNDER CONSTRUCTION. RESOURCES AND MORE TIPS WILL BE ADDED LATER
This post is for:
including all witchcraft not just wicca
Whomever your deity may be, you may want to make an altar for them. You may not be able to have a full altar with crystals, proper offerings, candles and such all over it but none of that is truely needed! little things can be made into altars or maybe a dedicated space! As long as your belief and prayers go to your deity thats all that matters! your deity understands! Example: say your deity is Athena! You may not have a statue of her but you can maybe put up a couple of flowers in a cup or a stuffed owl on a shelf and tell her that its for her! the way you do your craft is totally yours!
-Offerings can be the hard part. My deity is Abnoba, a Celtic goddess from the Black Forest. Her offerings are mostly Black Forest Ham, Black Forest Cake, and Spring water. Now i can usually provide this since we have Black Forest ham but my mom is gonna be kind of concerned about why my table has just ham on it. So, I do other things, like burn a candle, or talk and offer my stuffed wolf for her. Anything can be an offering if you deem it so.
Okay so not everyone can get access to multiple colorful candles. however for some witches who hide away this can be a completely normal obsession for some people! So maybe youre in the store with your mom, and you can ask if you can have a candle or two. “What for?” want that room to smell like Honey Suckle Spring of course.
My mom bought me two candles AND an incense burner! My family is normal about essential oils and incense and candles so this was fairly easy for me.
Ive realized incense can be a bit of a tricky thing, but for me I had this dragon incense burner forever (it sadly doesnt burn incense well) and it takes the cones, but you can find like gift incense cases and such for the sticks! which is a common form of incense. I use cones but thats okay too! Any little thing helps! If you can convince your parent to buy an incense burner and buy some incense your set! if not, thats okay! candles will still work!
Essential Oils. These are used a lot more today than a couple years back. My family uses them for personal reasons and medically for my bro. These are beneficial though! you usually order them online but some stores have them in candle and incense isles. BE CAREFUL THOUGH. some oils are not to consume or for your skin! Most are for aroma therapy which you mic in water and put in a diffuser! (if oils do not agree with your sinuses steam works as well ive read.)
Rituals can be tricky if youre trying to have privacy and parents dont knock coming in or someone comes home early.I would suggest night time or bathroom rituals. for new witches or witches in cramped spaces, i suggest picking a time, get a candle and pray in privacy of a bathroom or late at night as everyone sleeps and leaves you alone. this goes for spells too.
ITEMS FOR RITUALS AND SPELLS
You may have read a cool spell to do, but you dont have that candle, that herb, that crystal, etc. Thats okay! Spells are easy to wing its the intent and the mindset that works with it! Maybe try easy spells with minimum effort or research and educate on the spells and what they mean. Write a list of items that maybe you can build up over time! this is the thing a lot of witches freak out over, note you dont need these things to be a witch. the belief in magic, and deities or however you do your craft makes you a witch!
anyone can be into crystals. Its a common hobby to hav crystals it makes it easy to collect when youre out and about. sadly though these things can be pricey. You can find some places that have packs of different crystals. I found a pack at a native american store in cherokee that had rose quartz, amethyst, white quartz, green quartz, jasper, and blue quartz. You can find Crystals or crystal jewelry at art stores, musem shops, malls, or tourist areas like Cherokee, Tellus Museum, and places that hold spiritual value or geology. Ordering them online is an option to! But any jewelry can be like crytsal usage and hold magick purpose.
Mostly for Wiccan witches, you may celebrate holidays like Yule and such. Problem is the celebration. You probably cant make cakes, or certain things on that day. which is fine! you can always make yourself a decent lunch and in your mind its a celebration. you enjoy that grilled cheese and tomato soup. Now being dragged into family holidays can be different. but some holidays can easily work with yours! Easter and Spring equinox fall in good alignment with one another! Other religions can be a learning experience to improve your craft or take in values you can adopt.
I’ve spent the past week chilling in Bristol - reading in cafes and celebrating birthdays and generally enjoying life without exams. Currently reading Oranges Are Not The Only Fruit which I v much recommend.
I never understood the “Don’t judge a book by its cover”
sentiment. As a kid, I remember thinking to myself, I thought that’s what book covers were for? They’re the first
thing potential readers see when they’re browsing and they’re the subject of
many an *intellectual* Instagram shot. But most importantly, artists work hard
to make sure book covers reflect what’s inside of them.
As the NPR Books intern, my hands end up on a lot of brand
new titles, which also have brand new covers. So this summer, I’m going to be
tumbling about book cover art and artists in a series I’m calling #bookcovercrush.
First up: Luiza Sauma’s Flesh
and Bone and Water, which was designed by cover artist Lauren
The novel follows a wealthy Brazilian teenager
who finds himself drawn to the family
maid’s beautiful daughter after
travelling to the mouth of the Amazon.
Peters-Collaer says, “First, I explored mixing painted
patterns with natural elements of the Brazilian landscape to convey the
tropical setting and lush, layered feeling of the narrative.”
“At the same time, I was interested in incorporating an
obscured female visual to reference the woman who is a catalyst for the story,
and who is increasingly illuminated throughout the course of the text.”
“These two ideas came together in the final cover”:
Be sure to watch out for next installment of #bookcovercrush!

Summary: Reader and Bucky are trying for a baby A/N: I was going through my prompt tag and came across this prompt and had to write it. It’s named after this song which helped inspire me To Build a Home - The Cinematic Orchestra. Please come let me know what you think. Word count : 1419
You stare at the test in your hand, a tear slipping down your cheek. It’s only when you feel a warm hand wiping the tear away that you remember Bucky, your husband is sitting next to you. “It’s okay darlin’, we can try again” he murmurs pressing a kiss to your temple. It was the third test in the last few months and you wondered if you would ever have a baby. “It’ll happen” he whispers, taking your free hand in his. You knew he was also trying to reassure himself. Both of you had been tested after fears of infertility but the doctor had claimed you were both fine in that department, so now it was a waiting game.
You get up throwing the test in the trash before laying down on the bed. Sadness tugs at your heart as your mind races with questions and possibilities. Bucky kneels on the bed gently rolling you onto your back, he leans down kissing you gently.
