I envy the writers who can write good quality fanfics in one sitting and get it out the day they started writing it. I envy the writers who can give their followers new fics every fucking day. I envy writers who can easily get ideas and build from them without having to drive them self up the wall. I envy writers who don’t have to ask their friend for fanfic ideas or prompts because they don’t fucking have a single creative fucking bone in their motherfucking body. I envy writers who don’t have to spend days trying to put their thoughts into words and even when they do they can only manage to do two fucking paragraphs because they’re that fucking useless at what they love. I envy writers who find writing easy and simple and can do it without a fucking second thought. I envy writers that don’t need constant fucking validation to feel good enough because they’re that fucking paTHETIC. I FUCKING ENVY WRITERS THAT DONT FUCKIG HATE THEIR WORK THE MINUTE THEY START WRITING. I ENVY WRITERS THAT CAN PUT OUT WORK WITHOUT FUCKING SHAKINGN WITH FEAR OF IT BOT BEING GOOD ENOUGH. I FUCKING ENVY WRITERS THAT ARE CONFUDENT WITH THEMSELVES AND THEIR WRITING. I FUCKING ENVY MOTHERFUCKJNG WRITERS WHO DONT FUCKIGN THINK EVERY THING THEY DO IS ABSOLUTE SHIT
I frequently see short text posts praising Joan and wishing for the universe to bestow Joan with a girlfriend already or affirmations that she’s a wlw, all of which are absolutely wonderful, and I want to ask anyone who has any thoughts on it, what is your ideal, dream situation for Joan? Living situation, spouse or no spouse (who you ship her with and why), her sexual orientation, children or no children, any change to her job(s), hobbies (besides baseball and jogging), more pets or different pets… change in hairstyle or wardrobe… tattoo ideas…
I’m just really curious of other people’s Joan Watson headcanons?
[NSFW] Sending this question around! Do you think Kageyama could ride Hinata?
DO I EVER
There really is nothing stopping him–like Essie said, the size difference definitely isn’t big enough to be an issue. I’m pretty damn upset to find I haven’t written it yet! All my hinakage fics have had Kageyama getting ploughed into the mattress, but I’m….I’m very fond of the idea of Kageyama climbing up in Hina’s lap and going to town.
29. If you where a Sith Lord, would you have an Apprentice?
Okay, this depends entirely on if we’re talking old-Old Republic or post-Darth Bane Republic. SWTOR era, sure, your apprentice might try to kill you if you’re a dick, but despite the whole Empire thing, Sith are, on the whole, less prone to murdering each other? And you might even be friends! So why not!
Post-Darth Bane, with the establishment of the rule of two, things get a whole lot harder for the Sith who just wants to live their life in peace. First you’ve gotta murder your master who taught you everything you know (and since there’s only the one other Sith, you can’t even wander off to learn new Sith-ly techniques except in libraries and old holocrons). Then, to keep all the knowledge from dying off, you go pick a new apprentice who you’re planning to have murder you one day. A whole lot of not fun, if you ask me. I’d probably never challenge my Sith Master in the first place and get murdered by them, and assuming I do manage to kill them, then I’m off to spend the rest of my evil life researching more stuff, no time teach. Eventually, would I feel the need to pass this all on? Maybe! Who knows! The rule of two’s a shitty system to begin with! Look, love ya Darth Bane, but also what the fuck, dude
46. Pod racing or ship racing?
Pod racing will only ever make me laugh, so I have to go with ship racing
47. Space battle or ground battle?
Are we talking narratively here? Or aesthetically? Because space battles usually look better onscreen, simply because you can’t see all the people dying horribly in agony, just a whole lot of flashing lights. Ground battles, on the other hand, have the potential to be much more visceral and immediate because you see every death, all the blood and bodies right there. Not that they can’t? But Star Wars has yet to get across in any satisfactory way the sheer horror the destruction of a capital ship means, the tens of thousands of lives snuffed out in one shiny explosion
(Also: not nearly so many sick lightsaber fights in space)
HS AU - This is a Larry fic and they play LAX. At the moment its 7k and I quite like it. I’m on a roll and have a proper deadline and it’s going swimmingly.
Semple/Kapoor AU - Another Larry fic. I had 6k written and I scratched that. I’m now at 4k for my rewrite. I think it’ll be fun if I ever get through writing it. It feels like a summer story. I’m setting in NYC and I feel like the NYC heat should play a part somehow. Although, now I’m saying that and it might throw off other ‘based in fact’ timelines. shrug. I’ll figure that out when I go back to it.
Cozy Cabin AU - Surprise! It’s Larry! This is actually a prompt from @irretrishtible from the famous/not famous exchange. I’m like 3k into the story. I actually really love my plan for it, but I don’t know if I’ll get back to writing it until the fall, because it’s a fall-type story and I like writing it when I’m feeling cozy.
Madrid AU - Larry. Artist!Harry & Musician!Louis. I’m uh, 45k into this one. Eeeeek. I probably have another 35k to write, then I have to smooth out the bumps along the way. I will finish this someday. I will finish it and then I will celebrate with champs because good lord has it taken me a long fucking time to get here.
I might write a poem. It’s floating in my brain. Someday soon I’m going to sit down and try and get some words from that brain float.
Soulmates AU - 0 words. But I have a good plan.
Escort AU - This will be a Lirry fic. It’s also floating around and once I knock one or two of these off my list I’ll start writing.
I don’t normally engage in fandom discourse, but I see a lot of people saying “I don’t want blizzard to say who the canon lgbt characters are in Overwatch, because I think it’s better for fans to have their own headcanons.” And I 100% disagree.
Representation in a game that reaches people all over the world, many of whom are from a homophobic subculture that might otherwise not encounter any queer characters in any of their other media, is more important than your ships.
Shipping is not why lgbt characters are necessary. They are necessary because real, actual lgbt people exist and now more than ever need to be normalized in media. Subtext alone is not enough. We need to be allowed to exist as more than a head tilt and a wink, as more than something that has to be coded and guessed at like we’re some sort of dirty secret.
basically, If your ship is more important than real life representation on a global scale, I really think you’ve missed the point, and maybe you should think about your priorities. :\
