where's your home

did you know that, in your nice player house in Skyrim, inside of every single planter, there is an invisible naked man holding on to your plants for you

his name is “BYOHPlanterNPC” and he lives in an alternate dimension slightly removed from your home, where he sits in his empty grey void, naked, waiting for you to give him your plants

oh my god. my six year old daughter is in the other room playing overwatch and someone with the young hanzo skin got POTG. my daughter is reeaaally competitive so she kind of did this UGH sound and said, “hanzo, you’re too young. go HOME hanzo! where is your brother?! go home and TAKE CARE of your BROTHER hanzo” and i fucking inhaled my coffee

I am from the UK and I was going to say that I am lucky enough to live in a country that has strict gun laws, but that would be a lie.

It is not down to luck.

Almost 22 years ago on the 13th March 1996 a man killed 16 children, a teacher and injuring 15 others before committing suicide in Dunblane Primary School.

It was, and still is, the deadliest mass shooting in British history.

People were obviously outraged by the atrocity and by the next year it was illegal to own handguns (basically any gun not barrell loaded) unless they were of ‘historical importance’ i.e. made before 1919.

Owning a gun legally in the UK is hard. You must get a 5 year licence i.e. a background/capability check (yup it runs out), you must give a valid reason for needing a gun (i.e. the humane slaughter of animals/vermin); self defence is not a valid reason for owning a gun. You must be subjected to an inspection of your home where you have to show police where you are keeping the guns and ammunition, these must be kept in separate locked containers, and if you are needing to move the guns you must show that these containers can be moved whilst the guns are locked away.

Through all of this we have one of the lowest gun homicide rates in the word and last year only 26 people died in a gun related incidents (this includes air rifles and imitation guns), and most of these are from illegally obtained guns. It’s got to the point that if someone does die of a gunshot wound it is on the national news.

This being said we have a healthy National Rifle Association in the UK, but instead of demanding people be allowed to own weapons they teach marksmanship (traditional and modern) and promote shooting sports like clay pigeon shooting, which is very fun and we often have it at village fêtes.

The fact that gun control is still a debate in the US is astounding to me.

The fact that Sandy Hook was 5 years ago and there is still a debate on whether gun owners should be subjected to background checks is astounding to me.

The fact that someone can get an automatic or semi-automatic weapon and shoot hundreds of innocent people from the 32nd floor of a hotel is astounding to me.

The fact that each year we hear on the news that there has been the ‘deadliest mass shooting in American history’ is astounding to me.

How is this even a conversation?

Call your senators, your representatives at all layers of government, tell them you want stricter gun laws, tell them that this can’t keep happening.

The best thing you can do to honour the victims in Las Vegas is to make sure something like this can never happen again.

The order is as follows: first black salt, then rosemary, basil, cloves, lavender, sugar, pink Himalayan salt, rose petals, garlic powder, sea salt, oregano, sesame seeds, cinnamon, thyme, 3 bay leaves, more sea salt, and finishing with more black salt
  3. Place the piece of clear quartz on top of the last layer of black salt before putting the lid/stopper on

  5. Place the jar somewhere in your home where you feel it belongs or give it to a friend.

Notes on what I did:

I made this spell jar for my uncle as a gift for his first home. I wanted to make sure that both he and his pupper, Dixon, have the happiest and most love filled home possible. I also smoke cleansed his house with sage prior to him moving in next weekend.

Candle Wax Divination

It’s believed in Celtic and Gaelic tradition that the veil between the living world and spirit world is thinnest at Samhain, which is why divination became so popular at this period of the year. I’ve heard of this particular method used in my family line in the past.

Tools:

Candles
Bowl
Cold water

Method:

Fill a bowl with water. The bowl should be deep and wide enough to allow candle wax drippings to take shape. Putting the bowl in the freezer for a few minutes will help but don’t let the water solidify into ice.

Take the bowl of water and your candles to your altar or a place in your home where you can work comfortably in peace. Hearth witches or kitchen witches might consider working in the kitchen. Garden witches might consider working in the garden. That sort of thing. In my family tradition, environment mattered to the success of the divination. Working at night is best too.

Candles work best when made of natural materials but should at the very least produce a decent amount of drippiness. I generally use white candles since white is an easy substitute if you don’t have desired colors. You may coordinate the color to the subject of your divination question if you choose–green for money, red for love, etc.–but it’s not totally necessary. Our ancestors doing this particular divination method didn’t have easy access to colored candles like we do. They used beeswax, tallow, etc.

Light the candle and let it warm up pretty good. I have better luck with pillars than tapers but it’s just a matter of personal preference. While you wait for the flame to do its work, concentrate on your question. When the wax gets melted enough, ask your question aloud and then pour the drippings from the candle into the bowl. The cold water will make it harden fast.

Study the shape of the melted wax in the water. This is where you’ll need interpretation skills. I’ve been doing it for a long time and I never had a key for deciphering shapes in the wax but there are some suggestions online if you’re new at it.

Butterfly - freedom, rebirth, soul symbol
Cat - mystery
Crescent - spirituality
Diamond - gift, partnership
Egg - birth, starting something new
Frog - money
Hand - your desires will come to fruition soon
Heart - love
Hourglass - have patience
Leaves - success
Lighthouse - guidance
Lightening - a sudden occurrence
Mask - secrets
Star - wishes fulfilled
Tree - unity

I often find myself wondering if Jake is okay :/

It was only five in the evening, yet the sun was setting and the sky was black instead of a peaceful blue hue. Being the month of January, it made the days shorter and the nights longer, something of which you hated. Night was the worst, it reminded you of all the worst things. The dark was a treacherous thing and you despised it.

But yet, as you ran, one foot in front of the other in the quickest motion you could muster, no part of you seemed to care. For the past few days, hell for the past month, you’d been trying to deny what you knew you saw. Tried to tell yourself it was only your nightmares, bleeding into the day and your mind playing tricks on yourself. The images, the memories and the mis-haps, you’d tried to ignore it.

But tonight you were sure, sure that it was IT. It had to be…

When you’d run out of the room and out of the school, you weren’t exactly sure where your feet were leading you. Who could you tell? Who could you tell that wouldn’t think you were a complete mental idiot? Certainly not Henry or any of his friends, and your mother wasn’t an option.

The option was quite clear, and you knew it deep down that it was the right one. But you didn’t know what they’d think, any of them. They’d left you the minute IT was no longer a threat, and from what you’d seen no one even seemed to remember that clown that taunted you all. Wouldn’t they think you were insane as well? The thought pained you, made you feel isolated in your fear… but you reminded yourself that they had been there. You remembered it clearly, they saw IT then, so why couldn’t they now?

You had to tell someone… but your options were limited. Bill? Beverly? You didn’t even know where they were nowadays. Ben? No… MIke? No. Stan? Hadn’t spoken one word to him in months. That only left Eddie and Richie… neither of which you wanted to confront, after the whole episode in the hall. Eddie seemed like the better option, seeing as Richie hated you from what you’d seen… but you knew his mother and knew he’d be home by now. You weren’t getting into that house no matter how hard you tried.

That only left Richie… and you knew exactly where he’d be.
