Music Video

Request: Can you do a imagine where Y/N is a famous R&B artist and is dating Peter Parker and has a music video to do (Do U Dirty by Kehlani) so she invites him to be in the music video as the love interest where she’s grinding and teasing him leaving flustered and he doesn’t know how to react because he’s so sweet… 💕💕💕

You sat in your biology class waiting for the bell to ring. You were so very uninterested in the words being said. You and your boyfriend had already studied and read the chapters the test was going to be over. It was in preparation for you to be out for a week doing a music video. There were plenty of people with bands in your high school, you happened to land a solo career. It was luck mixed with talent, you just so happened to be singing in the right spot at the right time for someone very important to hear you. Since then, everyone wanted to be your friend, which was fine and all but you were a nerd before all of this. You were just a girl who’s boyfriend talked her into an open mic night. Before that night you were just Peter Parker’s girlfriend, people knew you were the weird-nerd-behind-the-camera’s girlfriend so you didn’t see why now all of a sudden you should just accept all of these new people into your life. As the bell rang, signaling the end of class and the end of the school day you found Peter waiting at your locker. You grinned at him and immediately hugged him. You loved the way Peter smelled, and if you hugged him long enough that smell would linger on you.

“How was your day?” he asked as you let him go. You gave him a look of pure exhaustion.

“I have been rehearsing choreography for four days straight, and then the actor that I my manager wanted me to use well he is like twice my age! Mom put her foot down, thank god! But now… no actor,” you sighed, and grabbed the last of your books before closing the locker.

“I’m sorry. Is you biology teacher going to let you take that test early?”

“Yes, and thank you very much for helping me study.”

“No problem, whatever you need.”

As he said that the wheels started turning in your head. He walked with you out of the school, he usually rode with you home. Well most of the time the driver would take him home.

“Peter, would you be willing to help me with something?”

“Uh yeah, sure.”

“Call Aunt May, you’re gonna be home late. Tell her it’s for me and she won’t care.” you advised. It was true though, Aunt May adored you. Peter liked to joke that she liked you more than him, you weren’t always so sure there was no truth to that statement. You entered the apartment you and your mom had moved to once you got popular. It was a nicer place with a dance studio… or rather an extra room you used as a dance studio. The floors were sprung hardwood and the wall was covered in mirrors.

“I would like you to be my music video boyfriend too,” You said.

“What?” Peter asked.

“I know you can dance,” you teased, that’s how you met, Aunt May put him  in dance and he was the only boy there. For some reason the two of you hit it off.

“Well yeah, but for one of your music videos?”

“Yeah, it’ll be fun. I’ll teach you the choreography all these next two weeks, and then we’ll shoot.” you assured. He looked apprehensive so you whipped out the puppy dog eyes, “Pretty please, Petey?” you asked.

“Fine, okay,” he agreed, “Stop making that face.”

You surged forward and kissed him excitedly, “Oh how did I get so lucky? Especially with all the fuckboys swarming in that school.”

“I wonder how I got so lucky. I mean you’re a star.”

“I’m still the girl you pushed out to go to open mic night. I wouldn’t be here without you.”

“I’m sure you would have been found on your own. You’re too talented to stay hidden.” he smiled sweetly.

“I love you, Peter.”

“Love you too.”

After weeks of grueling choreography, mostly just you showing Peter his moves with the help of your choreographer, it was time to shoot. You found it easier to keep on a persona with your music, sure the sexy, cool R&B persona that people knew you by was a part of you but it was a small previously well hidden. Peter had gotten peaks of it, especially in your teasing, but you planned to give him a full show. You were happy that the choreography didn’t ask much of him, just to be in the right place at the right time. The music started up once you were all in position. Peter was absolutely bewildered as you dance on and around him. He barely made it to the right places. He didn’t know if he should touch you or not.

You pushed and pulled at him rolling your body against his, then leaving him all together in favor of the camera. The words of the song fell from your lips effortlessly while you went through the choreography for the first location. You did multiple takes of course, and by the end of it the two of you were absolutely pooped.

“You did great, Pete!” You grinned giving him a warm hug. This embrace was very different from the ones he had been receiving all day.

“Really? Because I felt like a meat ball. You're… you’re gorgeous in front of that camera,” he complimented earnestly. He shifted his weight on his feet nervously, “I didn’t even know what to do with myself.”

“I’m sure it’ll come out perfect.” you assured, “I thought you handled yourself well, better than half the professionals, and I wouldn’t have even minded if you wanted to grab a little something,” you winked, teasing him. Peter just wasn’t the type to do something like that without your permission and even then it was dicey. His face was red at your words and he seemed to be struggling to get out a sentence.

“You are just too sweet, Peter Parker,” you sighed pinching his cheek.

“Hey!” he complained batting your hand away, “I can be macho… and grabby.”

“Nah, but it’s fine, I love the way you love me. My mom ordered pizza, how about we chill, get comfy and watch a movie, and you can see how grabby you can persuade yourself to be.”

Peter loved just seeing you in your sweats and a random t-shirt that probably belonged to him at some point. He looked at how soft and warm you looked and set upon wrapping his arms around you and hugging you close while you focused on shoving pizza in your mouth.

“This is your definition of grabby?”

“Mmhm,” he answered.

You settled into the position. It was nice, you liked his definition of grabby.

On this day in music history: May 29, 1982 - “Let It Whip” by The Dazz Band hits #1 on the Billboard R&B singles chart for 5 weeks (non-consecutive), also peaking at #5 on the Hot 100 on July 17, 1982. Written by Reggie Andrews and Leon “Ndugu” Chancler, it is the biggest hit for the R&B/Funk band from Cleveland, OH. Originally known as Kinsman Dazz when they form in 1976, they take their name in part from the then recent R&B/Pop smash “Dazz” by Atlanta, GA based band Brick. They are signed to 20th Century Records in 1978, releasing two albums (the first being co-produced by Philip Bailey and Ralph Johnson of Earth, Wind & Fire) for the label with minimal success. Changing their name to The Dazz Band in 1980, they sign with Motown Records. Of their first two albums for the label, “Invitation To Love” and “Let The Music Play”, only the latter produces a minor hit with the single “Knock, Knock” (#36 R&B). For their fifth album “Keep It Live”, The Dazz Band work with producer and songwriter Reggie Andrews. Prior to becoming a staff producer at Motown, Andrews work as a student music teacher at Locke High School in Dominguez Hills, CA where some of his former students include future star musicians such as Patrice Rushen, Gerald Albright and Leon “Ndugu” Chancler. Having previously collaborated on Dazz’s “Let The Music Play”, they work together again. The pair begin thinking of writing a song that could also become a dance, when the idea for “Let It Whip” comes. They begin putting the track together using a Linn LM-1 drum machine and a Mini Moog bass synthesizer. With the band adding their instruments and vocals to the basic track, it takes nearly a month to complete the song. Released on February 12, 1982, “Let It Whip” is an instant smash on R&B radio, quickly crossing over to Top 40 pop radio. The single spends four consecutive weeks at the top, before being bumped by The Gap Band’s “Early In The Morning” for one week on June 26, 1982. It rebounds and spends more week at number one on July 3, 1982. “Let It Whip” earns The Dazz Band a Grammy Award for Best R&B Vocal Performance By A Duo Or Group (tying with Earth, Wind & Fire’s “Wanna Be With You”) in 1983.

SHOWTIME - NELLY FURTADO (2006)

One of the best tracks from LOOSE though it didn’t become a single
Gotta love Nelly’s work as a songwriter on this one..

Put on your best clothes
We’ve been waiting too long for this moment
I’ll put on my best smile
I’m shining inside and I’m proud of our love but
Everytime I turn around you say that you’re not checking for love in that way
But everytime I come around you seem
So ready for this

Showtime our love’s coming out
Lights camera action show what we’re about cuz it’s
Showtime our love’s breaking out
Let’s show the world you’re my boy
I’m your girl cuz it’s
Showtime our love’s coming out
Lights camera action let it all hang out
Cuz it’s showtime
Yeah our time is now
Let’s show the world you’re my boy
I’m your girl

Let’s break a leg out there
This could be the start of the rest of our lives
I’ve got so much to share
And I’m ready to put it all out there for you
But everytime I turn around you seem
So afraid of what people might say
But can’t you see it’s a game they play
Trying to cast a shadow on our love

I wanna love you when I want
Want to love you where I want to
Wanna touch you when I wanna
Wanna kiss you when I wanna baby

Because it’s not fair to love you in chains
It’s not fair to love you in chains

Review - Reggie Watts @ Shepherd’s Bush Empire

By the time Reggie Watts hits the stage of the Shepherd’s Bush Empire, everyone in the crowd has already heard his voice – introducing both his opener, and himself – but in an accent so unlike his own that most audience members don’t realise it’s actually him.

But there’s no mistaking the guy when he comes out, even with his hair up and with a considerably smaller beard than we’re used to. From the moment he steps out, the crowd, delighted by his mere presence, are with him. He makes it impossible not to be with him, as he’s such a likeable and charismatic performer. Throughout his improvised monologues, he makes nonsense the funniest thing imaginable with his deadpan delivery. “I know you guys like fish here. But just take a suggestion: try chips with it. I know what you’re thinking: ‘No!! Boo!’. But it’s a good source of starch”, Reggie says with an earnestness that makes everything doubly funny. He throws out nonsense names of people and places in a Tim and Eric-esque manner, and discusses how certain political parties lost in the UK because they didn’t build efficient enough spacecrafts. It’s him turning typical stage banter on its head and making you think about how dumb everything really is. But in a smart way.

The songs, which the evening is centred around, are genuinely thrilling and spontaneously hilarious. Hearing his skills on his looping recorder, as well as his beatboxing is exciting beyond belief, especially with the knowledge that what you’re hearing has never been heard before, and won’t be heard again. He gets into brilliant flows where he can bring the house down simply by talking gibberish in exaggerated voices (it’s impossible to ignore that he is genuinely a brilliant R&B vocalist though), while occasionally dropping in bits of actual words – like when a piece segues into his love of spreading marmite on toast. It’s his musical ability that makes everything funny. To hear his amazing voice and from-scratch acapella backing tracks driving such ridiculous ideas is nothing short of ingenious – it constructs, then deconstructs the modern pop song, the satire being especially sharp when he perfectly mimics particular vocal styles, or wonders why we call women girls in songs instead of women.

His skills alone are stupendous, but they’re doubled when he brings out the incredible Thundercat to jam with him on bass. They play a few songs with impeccable skill, which the audience are audibly riveted by – I usually hate people talking during shows, but to the guy behind me who repeatedly said “Oh my god. He is so, so talented” - I agree. The duo were amazing together and the audience were happy to let terrific musicality take the spotlight from the comedy in this stretch. Thundercat was a complete surprise and I definitely did not keep my composure when Reggie called him to come out, I was far too excited.

Reggie is also surprisingly current this night, when he talks in earnest about the attack on London Bridge last week, before apologising for Trump and later, performing a great, Reggae-tinged song about Hung Parliament. The laughs in these segments were laughs of catharsis and warmth, whether he was waxing philosophical about how weird and wonderful it is to be a person (his bit on how you will never objectively be able to see yourself is kind of beautiful) or how weird governments are as a concept.

“Remember, you are not defined by your government”, Reggie says towards the end of the show. Everybody needed to hear that. It’s a silly, human and loving show, one that felt like a relief for a bunch of people after a few weeks of awful, horrible news. Reggie’s art surpasses the label of being musical comedy tonight and hits somewhere a bit deeper, and the deserved standing ovation at the end of it is proof that this was a very special night indeed.

Note - A few fans waited by the stage door to meet Reggie later, and luckily for us he came out to meet us, and luckier still, he’s about the nicest man you’ll ever meet. Learning everyone’s names, shaking hands, giving hugs, paying attention to questions, he’s as kind offstage as he is on. He’s the real deal.

Daddy!Namjoon

A/N: hi admin japchae here! ok no one can deny the possibility that namjoon has a daddy kink. have you heard “expensive girl” or “trouble” ??? this man is READY to get frisky !! so hold on to your panties, this is what I think daddy namjoon is like

  • the two of you would most likely be friends with benefits + daddy/babygirl
  • namjoon is still in his early 20’s so I see him as being daddy in the most fuckboy way
  • sending you snapchats w/ captions like “daddy misses u” “how’s my babygirl?” “show daddy how wet he makes u”
  • constant texts asking you “what are u wearing?” “you know what I wanna do to you?” “wanna see how hard I am for u?”
  • you’d wonder why you’re having regular sex with a man who has the mentality of a teenager but the sex is so bomb you forget you even had that problem
  • when you’re around other people, he’d hold back but if you were near and no one is looking, he’d slide his hand on your ass and give you a little squeeze or whisper the most erotic thing in your ear
  • one time, he took you to his photoshoot, and you got all hot and bothered while watching bc he was wearing a clean-cut suit
  • let’s just say you two got super dirty on set when all the staff were gone
  • I can see him taking you to a club, and the two of you are just grinding in the back to “work” by rihanna & drake
  • his lips are at your ear saying “you really know how to get me going baby” as you grind your ass into his pelvis oh my gOD
  • he’d take you to a dinner party, you’d be so nervous so he’d stay by your side and hold your hand
  • it would get to a point where he’d take you into an empty room in the house and you’d end up fucking on that stranger’s couch right there so you can feel loved again
  • what I’m trying to say is that daddy namjoon sure loves sex anywhere anytime
  • most of the time, he’d take charge but there are days when he’ll let you do whatever you want to him
  • namjoon honestly treats you like a goddess
  • all he wants is for you to feel good like you deserve
  • he feels like he just won gold at the olympics when you orgasm first but whenever he orgasms first, he feels guilty and works extra harder to make you feel better than he did
  • he’d be lying down, looking up at your body when you’re on top and say something like “god, you’re such a masterpiece”
  • sometimes he’ll make a playlist of sensual r&b music to makeout to and as much as you try not to, you’d end up laughing so hard that he punishes you for being a bad girl
  • god knows namjoon loves spanking
  • but there are days in your fwb relationship where you’re just not feeling the whole daddy kink
  • the best part is that namjoon completely understands
  • he loves hearing you moan his name as much as he loves hearing you moan “daddy”
  • and when you’re not in the mood for sex in general, he understands that too!!
  • he’ll ask you about your day, he’ll take you out to get coffee, and you absolutely love this side of him
  • it’s during these moments of no sex that the both of you think twice about what you feel for each other
  • especially after sex, when the two of you have those deep pillow talks and he gives you aftercare massages and cuddles
  • but of course, nothing is said, the relationship remains the same and the two of you definitely don’t mind it
  • basically, daddy namjoon is a tiger in bed and a bunny outside the bed
  • so amazing at sex but still the sweetest and most considerate person in the world !!

So there’s this newer R&B artist called Punchnello from the Korean Underground music scene, right? Not only is baby boy maaaaaaaaad cute, but his music is 100% L I T. I came across this song he has called “True” where he basically talks about how he always was raised to see black (as in dark skin, dark people) as a bad thing or as less desirable but says he was so wrong and he loves blackness, the chorus of the fucking song goes “I like your black” shoutout to homeboy for showing us love!

The link is to the song and below is a link to the translation of it <3

KM & BW: Speaking of him! omg check out this song I’ve used in my videos a lot, it’s: Penomeco - For You (Feat Punchnello, Crush)

anonymous asked:

In your opinion, what genre of music do you think each boy would be best at?(could be the genre they're singing now or a different one)

OK i love this so much thank you for asking

  • so liam is obviously suited for r&b / pop - think justin timberlake. i could totally see him pulling through with some nice ballads but also having fun, dancey songs. it’d be perfect for him if he’s looking to have a few ear worms but also have a few tracks where he can show off his pristine vocals.
  • i love love love the route niall has gone. what do you consider that? pop with a folk type of twist to it? it’s so suited for him, his lyrics and smooth voice mixed with the nice acoustic guitar is soooooo gorgeous, but i also REALLY love how he has an arctic monkeys type of feel with slow hands. it feels like he could do pretty much anything?? rock/pop/folk, he’d fit into any of those
  • harry is your certified Rock God™️ and tbqh, i think it’s fitting for him. he has that sense of “swagger” about himself where he can pull it off. he’s pulled in an audience with that schtick and it totally works. good for him! i just wish he’d given me a what a feeling 2.0 😡
  • louis! i would LOVE to see him go an alternative rock direction. he’s got a liking to them, no? one of the things that made me fall [even more] in love w louis was when he had those brand new shoes on (they’re a favorite of mine) and he always had a tendency of tweeting out newer artists in the alt rock world. also there’s this band called junior prom that has an ep out and the guy sounds SO much like louis it’s almost unnerving but the sound fits him so wonderfully that i’d sort of be living for it ( x , x , x )

huggableyoungjae  asked:

I sad ballad (or ballad-r&b) song! Where it is about being heartbroken or sad, and Youngjae is the main lead (and at the end, we could end up together but ballads should not end with a happy ending haha) ^^

I’m so sure Youngjae would love to do that style of music! I think it has a possibility of ending happy too! He’ll sing about how wrong he was to breakup with you and asks you to forgive him and take him back. Knowing you, of course you’re forgiving and don’t count the past against him, so you both start over again!^^

anonymous asked:

Melly a solo!Liam day!!! AHHHH. He doesn't get enough love IMO. I'm DYING. legit DYING waiting to hear his music. I'm a 90s R&B/Rap hoe through and through (how did I get stuck in the 1D fandom god only knows) so I'm anticipating his album being right up my alley!!!! I'm curious what you think his sound is going to be like? I'm think a bit of MoM and mix in a few tracks where someone (maybe Liam himself) is spitting rhymes. I also hope he somehow finds a way to show his quirky nerdy side :):)

Hi Melly! I am getting so excited for Liam’s solo music. What type of music do you think we can expect from him?

hiiiiii!

Liam really doesn’t get enough love! LET’S GIVE HIM SOME.

This is kind of long. I’m a windbag. I am sorry.

At this point, we’ve got a lot of huge clues about what Liam’s sound is going to be like, between early press positioning (articles have run in Uproxx, Complex, Rolling Stone), producers we’ve heard about, and song snippets. Basically, I think Timberlakean Liam isn’t just a sweet, sweet fever dream of mine and ITS GONNA BE REALLY REALLY GOOD. Liam seems to be cultivating a R&B/Pop sound with influences from early 90s R&B & hip hop - I think he’s going to do some rapping, too, especially with the early press push they did about that when Loam was working with Juicy J. Honestly, Sprinkle my ashes on Liam’s Vevo channel.

They seem to be sparing no expense on Loammy Jean’s record, too. The list of producers and songwriters we’ve seen reads like a who’s who in R&B & Hip Hop (there’s even folks who worked on Beyonce’s Lemonade, not that I’m crying about that ALL).  No rabble or plebs need apply here. Folks on the list include:

  • Pharrell - 10-time Grammy winning dude. Kind of a big deal musically. No explanation needed
  • Ben Billions - Multi-platinum, Grammy-winning dude. Has worked with folks like Rihanna, Beyonce, and The Weeknd
  • Bibi Bourelly - Songwriter/producer. Worked with artists like Selena Gomez, Rihanna & Usher.
  • Danny Boy Styles - Producer/songwriter/engineer. Worked with artists like The Weeknd, Beyonce, and Nicki Minaj
  • Rob Knox - 1/3 of the hit-making trio “The Y’s”, which includes himself, James Fauntleroy and Justin Timberlake. Worked with artists like Rihanna, Chris Brown, Britney Spears
  • Sean Garrett - Has produced 18 number one singles, including Usher’s “Yeah,” Beyonce’s “Check On It,” and Pussycat Doll’s “Buttons”
  • Juicy J
  • Jean Baptiste - Singer/Songwriter/Producer. Has worked with Rihanna, Nicki Minaj, Chris Brown, & Madonna, among others.
  • Ben Chang - 2 time Grammy-nominated engineer. Worked with folks like Lil Jon and T-Pain
  • TM88
  • Zedd
  • Wiz Khalifa

Hand to thinking boob, this list tells me that Liam’s team fully expects Liam to be a seriously successful solo artist. You don’t put down all of those production tuppence on a debut solo record unless you think you think you’re going to get massive returns back.

I am reallllly excited to hear Loammy Jean’s music. I look forward to many days and hours of poorly caps locked crying about his music in the very near future through eyes blurry from my own tears of extraness and pride.

Weird headcanon of the day: Victor has a phase where he gets really into 90s and early 2000s American hip hop and R&B (which Yuuri recognizes from his time in America) and uses the music to serenade Yuuri. He’s like “Suga, Suga how you get so fly?” And Yuuri’s like please no stick to Opera. “But I’m in love with a stripper! (You’re the stripper Yuuri, it’s how we met) Yuuri you look good won’t you back that ass up?” What other songs would he sing?

We need to talk about Liam Payne, aka one of the most underrated vocalists in the industry today. With a range surpassing pretty much almost every young male vocalist today (debated between 3 octaves 3 notes and a semitone to 3 octaves 5 notes) and being a baritone in an industry where tenors are heavily favored. He’s been singing parts written for a band of tenors and his unique tone he had pre-One Direction has largely been covered up by this, yet he has still managed to establish himself as one of the best singers in the industry while constantly singing outside of his comfort zone. He has a beautiful, powerful falsetto and an extreme amount of vocal stamina with a beautiful lower register, and, despite being a baritone, an upper register that can compete with the majority of tenors today.
He’s a fantastic songwriter, see the song he wrote for Hometown, in addition to some of One Direction’s songs “What a Feeling,” “Better Than Words,” and “Right Now” to name a few. In addition, he has also written some progressive lyrics like “I Won’t Break,” (not by One Direction) “Home,” “End of the Day,” the latter two which were also co-written by Louis. He also has expansive knowledge about how music works, look at his ability to produce and his musicality in love concerts, where he even has the ability to add perfect ad libs to songs while running around or engaging the audience. One of my personal favorite aspects is how Liam simply does not care about genre, but rather just loves music. He has cited enjoying pop music, R&B, rap, hip-hop, rock, indie, and more, and in addition to that, his voice has a unique versatility that would fit any of these genres if he decided to venture into them.
