where are all these people at though

People ask me how to get into animation, and I tell them (for starters) to put something on the internet. If you show that you can attract an audience without the support of massive advertising money, companies will want to hire you. The internet is a great way for new talent to make itself known.

If net neutrality goes away, though, we’ll have to return to a system where it’s all about “who you know”. Where your ideas are bought (and generally discarded) before you even have them. In short: Finish up those internet films, comics, and cartoons before you’re directly competing with the Big Six. They’ve already got Batman and Star Wars and they don’t want you.

Me watching Supergirl 2.09

Me: So where’s Lena? Does she not get a hug?

Me: Omfg DOMESTIC SANVERS! ALEX IS SUCH A LOVESICK PUPPY

Me: No, but fr tho, does Lena not exist anymore? She only SAVED ALL OF ALIEN KIND AND SENT HER MOTHER TO PRISON. Is a hug TOO much to ask for? Maybe a kiss???

Me: Ah, so this is supposed to be character development for Mon-el huh? Idk, I’ll try to like him since this going to be canon.

Me: *cringes* I can’t, I can’t.

Me: Do other people ship James and Winn? Do they have a ship name yet????

Me: Damn, I though Kara was the only Danvers puppy. Alex is actual, literally mush when it comes to Maggie.

Me: But Lena tho???

Me: Oh…Mon-el is here…alright, let’s try to be happy for Kara. *Slowly dying inside*

Me: BUT WHERE IS LENA THO???

1. That chapter was too good! I can't wait for more Phichit! <3 2. All the prompts you answer with more backstory of the mafia au give me life 3. HECK YES GIVE ME ALL THE BACKSTORY AND THE EMOTIONAL DEVELOPMENT OF THESE TWO I DON'T EVEN MIND ABOUT THE CLIFFHANGER!!!

I’m honestly glad people thought it was okay cos I loathed every word, not fishing for comments or whatever you call it, it was just one of those ones where you gotta grind through it in order to get to the next plot point. It happens. Phichit, Yurio and fluff made up for it a bit though :D

Thank! I am having a lot of fun with them too, so it’s a win win! And yesssss, you’re gonna get some, not all of it just yet, but a good portion of it in the next update, I am so excited fbvbvodidnckjwndckjwbvh and p.s i love cliffhangers XD

11 Facts

Tagged by @untold-stories-here and @cryptictalk. Eleven random facts about myself. Hmmm, alright then.

1. I love to read, most anything at all. Fiction, non-fiction, doesn’t matter.
2. I’ve never liked wearing clothes. Social conventions aside, I’d prefer to be naked.
3. Food is life! Anything and everything: except sweet pickles, which are horrible.
4. It is difficult for me to make friends, at times, because I have no filter and just say what I think. Most people are put off, though my nearest and dearest find it to be hilarious.
5. I recently left the town where I grew up. The circumstances weren’t what I would have chosen, but I am happy in my new city.
6. I believe that wiring has kept me sane, relatively.
7. This is much harder than I believed it would be. I have no filter, but am a private person. This is not the kind of naked I like.
8. I owe a debt of gratitude to the person who got me to join tumblr. I’ve grown as a poet, thanks to the many great writers on here.
9. I am an alcoholic. Been sober for almost 12 years.
10.I don’t need alcohol or drugs to be crazy. Very few things I won’t do stone cold sober. ;)
11. Writing is cathartic for me. Sometimes it brings up more than I would like, but I always want to know. Show me an ugly truth rather than a pretty lie.
Not going to tag anyone because I think we’ve all probably been tagged at this point. But feel free to jump in and get messy like the rest of us.

[ I know we’ve talked about that AU that’s out there where Succubus!Pearl can’t seduce her way out of a paper bag but I raise you this:

Vampire!Pearl who is excellent at seducing but can’t follow through. Gets you to take her home, starts sucking your blood and when you start to get light headed and pass out she realizes “oh shit I can’t do this killing people thing”. Wanders awkwardly around your apartment. Admires your tchotchkes. Cleans your whole place because she feels bad. She’s gone before dawn, most awkward one night stand ever, yet another bar she can never go to again ]

The Moogle Chocobo Carnival is a lot of fun:)

I really enjoyed making Noct a waiter for some reason (and I’m laughing at the new lines about fishing, and Noctis imitating Ignis. Hilarious!).

Anyone having any luck finding all the moogle dolls, chocobo chicks, and people we’re supposed to take pictures of, though?

And where’s the balloon mini-game?

I assume this all ends when we see the fireworks, right?

And yay for water chocobo races!

Is Luna in this, btw? I shouldn’t get my hopes up… but Wiz, Dino, Aranea, Gentiana, and the cat are. So why not Luna? LOL.

Artist Shout Out

Shout out to artists who get drowned out by popular people’s art

shout out to artists who hardly ever get any reblogs

shout out to artists who feel like people are embarrassed to reblog their art

shout out to artists who constantly get told to “keep trying!” and “work harder!” even though theyve been doing it all their lives and still aren’t up to par with everyone else

shout out to artists who feel like they have no where to go because art is all they have even though it never gets attention

shout out to artists who JUST got a tablet as an adult because theyve never had rich parents to get them every little art supply they wanted

shout out to artists who feel like its too late because all the popular artists are so young

shout out to artists who had friends and family tell them they could be famous but got on the internet and saw how much better everyone else is

shout out to artists who feel like giving up everyday because they feel like they will always be outshined by other popular artists

you’re not alone. You can do this. It’s not a race, even if it feels like it a lot.

This is only one out of many methods for doing this. Keep in mind that not all Moons are equal, though. A lot of people just make this on the Full Moon, but it’s a good idea to pay attention to where the moon is astrologically during this. Certain spells call for Lunar-charged water from certain periods or phases in the Moon’s cycle.

Ok so here’s the thing about Newt Scamander…

I don’t think I’ve ever related to a character so much before him. Honestly though, you know how a lot of stories talk about that “awkward person” and how a lot of the time they are actually not awkward at all, they just trip a lot and wear glasses?
Well Newt was awkward. And he was awkward in the same way I am. He’s not good with people. I’m terrible with people and it is only with very specific people that I can truely be myself around.
I enjoy my own company as does newt, and I guess I don’t realise how much I need companionship until I meet beautiful people who like me for who I am (sad how rare that is right?)
The character is so enduring, and it proves that you don’t have to be the most competent, stealthy, confident person in the world to make a difference. I like this a lot.

Also, as a side note, can we please talk about how all the characters in this film took gender stereotypes and threw them out the window!!

I mean, Newt the main male protagonist is not a natural fighter, he is nurturing and caring. He openly cries in the film, blatantly refers to his male friend as a “friend” and someone he “likes”. Also, refers to himself as mother to the creatures in the case. I mean, COME ON! How often do we get to see this on screen!

Then you got Tina and Queenie. Both brave, and caring, strong and fragile - and so far from one dimensional that I want to cry!

Then of course Jacob! The average joe of the film who is “actually” an average joe. Completely regular, friendly, and an all-round good person, who is not only there for laughs but also for his huge heart.

Anyway sorry for the long post, but this film is so beautiful that is hard for me to take in.
Be ready for most posts :P

Sometimes I still can’t believe that for Cas’ character, for seasons now, him finding a home, him wanting to belong somewhere, him figuring out where he wants to be after being stuck in the middle for so long, has been a never ending theme, even though it’s very clear whom he wants to be with and what is keeping him on planet earth.

And then on the other hand there is Dean’s character, always struggling with people leaving, because goddamnit everybody leaves him, always struggling with being alone, afraid that it’s his own fault that everybody goes, yet there is this one person that does always come back to him no matter what, is always there for him, and would gladly spend all of his days with Dean, if only Dean would just open his mouth and say the freaking word.

Like hey if you’ve been locked up in a room with no windows, and tHE ONLY THING IN THE ROOM IS A TABLE WITH A GIANT ASS KEY ON IT, AREN’T YOU AT LEAST GOING TO TRY TO TAKE THAT KEY AND PUT IT IN THE FREAKING LOCK TO SEE IF IT FITS??!! I’M just??!

okay but seriously seventeen are so friendly and approachable (or approaching?? since they initiate most of the interactions lmao), the mere fact that jungkook was so comfortable sitting with them even though he’s the only bangtan member there to the point where he actively sought them out most of the duration of isac means he feels at ease with them, he warmed up to them so quickly (and we all know how awkward he can get with new people) and not just with the 97 line but the rest of the group as well (he was even holding hands with woozi and messing around with seungkwan) i’m so :’))

also seungkwan playing around with jin and ken even though they’re six years his senior and even making a bet with them like !!!

seventeen during isac were basically a bunch of enthusiastic puppies let lose

How The Systemic Segregation Of Schools Is Maintained By ‘Individual Choices’

Sixty-three years after the Supreme Court’s Brown v. Board of Education ruling mandated the desegregation of American schools, many schools across the country either remain segregated or have re-segregated.

Journalist Nikole Hannah-Jones tells Fresh Air’s Terry Gross that when it comes to school segregation, separate is never truly equal.

“There’s never been a moment in the history of this country where black people who have been isolated from white people have gotten the same resources,” Hannah-Jones says. “They often don’t have the same level of instruction. They often don’t have strong principals. They often don’t have the same technology.”

Still, when it was time for Hannah-Jones’ daughter, Najya, to attend kindergarten, the journalist chose the public school near their home in Bedford-Stuyvesant, Brooklyn, even though its students were almost all poor and black or Latino. Hannah-Jones later wrote about that decision in The New York Times Magazine.

For Hannah-Jones, sending Najya to the neighborhood school was a moral issue. “It is important to understand that the inequality we see, school segregation, is both structural, it is systemic, but it’s also upheld by individual choices,” she says. “As long as individual parents continue to make choices that only benefit their own children … we’re not going to see a change.”

Hannah-Jones adds that her daughter is thriving at school. “I know she’s learning a lot,” she says. “I think it is making her a good citizen. … It is teaching her that children who have less resources than her are not any less intelligent than her or not any less worthy than her.”

I think it’s really important to understand when someone says “Voting for Trump is going to kill people” they don’t mean that as soon as he’s sworn in, we’ll suddenly be transported into 1930s Europe with the gestapo coming around to round up the “Bad People” so they can be categorized and placed in the proper ghetto/camp.

(Though there are some people who are afraid that four years later, that’s where we might be, and I don’t blame them.)

Do you remember that article about England’s new disability laws that suddenly declared a large chunk of people capable of work based on absolutely no medical recommendation at all? And how six months later the suicide rates had spiked within that community?

That’s what we mean. Slowly, all of the things society has put into place to help people will dry up. Disability allowances, at risk teen hotlines and programs, pre natal care for the poor, all of those things that quite frankly barely make a drop in the budget but still manage to save lives will start to dry up. Right around the time an inevitable rise in violent hate crimes and non violent denials of human rights (worse than it is now) and slowly, ever so slowly, you will stop being able to talk about things.

And we will die. Either through neglect or our own hands. But we WILL die. And you won’t know it because no one will talk about it. One day you’ll look up and there will be another hole where an entire generation has been ripped away from life for no other reason than being who they were.

Okay but I really need more fics of young Jack Morrison being completely and utterly love-at-first sight infatuated with Gabriel Reyes.

I want Jack Morrison who’s enlisted fresh out of high school where he was prom king and captain of the football team taking one look at the rugged beauty that is Gabriel Reyes and being like “Yes. Him.” Even though all his fellow recruits are like “dude he outranks you” and “dude he’s an officer and you’re just enlisted” and “dude that’s Gabriel Reyes.” And because Jack Morrison doesn’t know the meaning of the word “stop” when he’s got an idea in his mind he fucking goes for it.

But Jack’s not dumb. Jack knows you win people over with kindness better than force, so he winds up hell bent on being Gabriel’s best friend. He sits by him at mess, tries to really get to know him, compliments him every time he sees him. He’s determined to get to know Gabe and support him and make himself everything that Gabriel Reyes needs in a man.

Meanwhile here’s LA raised Gabriel Reyes who’s a ROTC kid, probably double majored in Philosophy and Computer Science while working in the theater department’s costume shop throughout college, wondering what the hell this white bread Indiana boy is doing trying to get on his good side. He’s suspicious at first, but the problem is Jack is just so genuine in his adoration. He backs off when Gabe asks him too, respects his boundaries, and really listens and takes things to heart, even when Gabriel challenges his Midwest farm boy assumptions about the world. So Gabriel can’t help but relax around him. Bit by bit he lets himself enjoy Jack’s constant company and comes to see him as a friend that he can rely on.

Finally one day his curiosity gets the better of him and he turns to Jack all “What the hell is all this for, Morrison? You know I’m not going to give you preferential treatment.”

Jack just shrugs like, “I don’t really want that. But how about a date?”

And Gabe is so thoroughly dumbfounded and seduced that he says yes.

I notice a lot of people are bothered by Taiyang’s arm joke with Yang, because even though she laughed they still felt it was inappropriate.

And while I can see where you are all coming from, for me that was the most relatable thing I have ever seen on this show.

My dad and I are the same way, joking about things that are traumatic for us because we both find humor to be our healthiest coping mechanism. Would it be okay if anyone else had said that? No. But it’s fine in this instance because it’s dad, and dad gets it.
