American candy is the junk they get you hooked on. Anything without a heartbeat. The manufactured, manipulative, soulless garbage that is fed to us daily. It is anything that attempts to entertain or please or persuade with complete disregard for integrity and character. It’s everything I don’t want to be or be a part of. I tried to keep this concept in mind when writing the record. Mean what I say and make sure its from some place tangible, some place real. All that said, I didn’t want things to be so heavy this time around. This record is not some political statement or guide to live life by. It’s simply honest. I wanted to keep things mostly light and groovy. If for nothing else, for my psyche. I needed to be better, I needed to feel better. I’m definitely not the phony, bubble gum depiction of happiness they sell you but I’m in a better place nonetheless and I can only hope that is translated through this album and in turn it can brighten someones life or day or moment.   We set out to make a record to let you know that you aren’t alone in feeling lost, and that to be found might not be the point. Maybe it’s merely just to be whatever it is you aim to be.

Sea Of Love

@stopandimaginelove As another year goes by here’s a ficlet on your special day. Thank you for your incredible ideas, support and absolute readiness to discuss fic ideas with me. Based on an AU idea that just seemed too cute to pass up. Happy Birthday Lynne!

“Mr. Criss?” a small voice called from the doorway.

Both Chris and Darren turned around and saw a young girl who tucked a strand of hair behind her ear nervously, waiting for further instruction.

What are some good tumblr room quotes? How do you make a quote?

It depends on what kind of quotes you like! Personally, I love getting short lines from my favourite songs, or maybe you could collect quotes that mean something to you, perhaps from a book, movie, video game etc., whatever your heart desires. Here are a few I like (not personal ones or song lyrics, just general quotes). Some of them are for above/beside your bed specifically while others can go anywhere in your room!

  • When words fail, music speaks
  • Time is precious, waste it wisely
  • Life begins at the end of your comfort zone
  • If you don’t chase your dreams, you’ll never catch them
  • Be the change you wish to see [in the world]
  • Sometimes you have to fall before you fly
  • Take a breath and let the rest come easy
  • In dreams, we enter a world that’s entirely our own
  • Turn your face toward the sun and let the shadows fall behind you
  • Not all heroes wear capes
  • Today is the oldest you’ve been and the youngest you’ll ever be again

Here are some quotes from songs/books/movies:

  • “And in that moment, I swear we were infinite” - Perks of Being a Wallflower
  • “Be yourself, everyone else is taken” - Oscar Wilde
  • “No life is a waste. The only time we waste is the time we spend thinking we are alone.” - Mitch Albom, The Five People You Meet In Heaven
  • “I can’t fall asleep, but I sure can dream” - Stranger by Versaemerge
  • “Monsters don’t sleep under your bed, they sleep inside your head” - Monsters by Sick Puppies
  • “We live for the night’s decor, it reveals what we dream of” - Glowing Eyes by Twenty One Pilots
  • “If I [just] lay here, would you lie with me and just forget the world?” - Chasing Cars by Snow Patrol (had to put that one in there)
  • “You be the anchor that keeps my feet on the ground, I’ll be the wings that keep your heart in the clouds” - Mayday Parade
  • “We can be all poetic and just lose our minds together." The Last of Us video game

This is just a list I compiled mostly from memory but also from a quick Google search. Obviously, if you don’t like any of these I recommend checking out the “bedroom wall quotes” tag right here on Tumblr or even Pinterest for more ideas!

As for making the actual quotes, there is no proper way to do it. you could print out big letters on Microsoft Word then cut them out and put them on the wall directly, or use cut-outs as a template to trace onto a different kind of paper or material, or you could just freehand draw! I’ve seen these quotes done with magazine pages, scrapbooking paper, old books, even aluminium foil. You really can get ultra creative with this.

If you have oil-based paint on your walls or your room hasn’t been painted in, say, 10+ years, I definitely wouldn’t recommend using sticky tack (Blu-Tack) because it draws out oil from walls and can potentially leave a permanent mark. You don’t have to worry about this if you have fresh walls or a different base, but if you don’t want to risk it you should use painter’s tape. It won’t peel the paint off your walls and rolling up and sticking the letters on with it works really well!

Phew, I hope this helped you out. Sorry for the essay-length answer!
