when i have a daughter

And she felt no fear when the ship was rocked by enemy fire, because her dad was in command, in control, and therefore everything would of course be fine. In her imagination Hux had built their ship by hand just as he’d made her. She understood that Ren had something to do with her creation, too, and imagined that a final, magical touch from him had brought everything Hux had carefully laid in place together.

The Force, and responsible science. That was where Hux said she came from.

From us, Ren said. Blood and soul.

Sometimes I can’t stop thinking about how Zuko accidentally spoke against his father and begged for forgiveness, on his knees with tears in his eyes, and got half his face burned off and banished from his home

Then Zuko betrayed his uncle and everything Iroh had ever taught him, begged for forgiveness on his knees with tears in his eyes, and got a hug and complete forgiveness and unconditional love

anonymous asked:

I like Mary. I think she's awesome. I don't see why she has to be evil.

Oh, boy, okay.

Listen you can like Mary all you want – I loved her too before the fucked up her entire story arc – but her entire arc was building up to be a villain, and a badass one that was going to go down with a fight.

I’m REALLY not trying to be pedantic here, Nonny, but asks like this force me to pull out receipts, all of which I’m sure you’re not going to read, because who likes to be proved wrong, but I digress. I always end up sounding more harsh than I am when all I want to do is educate you on my perspective and what the narrative is teaching us.

THAT’S Why she’s a villain. When a character kills the title character of a show, they are coded as the bad guy unless they do a redemption arc that actually is a redemption.

Mary had NO redemption arc AT ALL. Even in S4, Mary is STILL manipulating and emotionally abusing Sherlock and John against each other with her fucking creepy-assed DVDs and her belittling of John in T6T. She still runs off to go do her little assassin things and still lied and manipulated everyone. And I know the argument is going to come up, but Mary’s gunshot was NOT a redemption. A redemption arc has the ex-villain doing a good deed and being genuinely sorry for their past actions. Not ONCE Mary has ever apologized for any of the shit she put everyone through. All of it was a plan, especially if she had creepy DVDs made FAIRLY RECENTLY (you can tell because of the hair style) to send out to people. Also:

That and Mary’s entire death scene was RIDICULOUS and completely contradicted EVERY rule that was established in this universe only 2 episodes prior on how characters die.

Nonny, Mary’s character arc is one I have been passionate about for many years, even before I was a Johnlocker, because her character was fascinating to me, and helped me understand the psychology and make sense of events that were happening in my life at the time. Right up until TAB, Mary was being coded as the next Moriarty. For some reason or another, Mofftiss decided to turn her into an “assassin with an heart of gold” and failed spectacularly.

If Mary truly was good, she WOULD HAVE TOLD JOHN FROM THE BEGINNING WHO SHE WAS, OR AT LEAST TOLD SHERLOCK SHE NEEDED HELP. HLV would have not played out as it did. Instead deciding that killing Sherlock was her only option so that she could continue to manipulate John, since she knew he was most malleable when he was grieving Sherlock.

You can read Mary’s character however you want, I could care less… well okay apparently I do because of this reply… But please, seriously consider that what became of her character really made no goddamned sense to the narrative arc the built for her and quite frankly really lazy writing. Just because she is a woman, doesn’t mean that she is nice and sweet and not abusive. Excusing her of her brand of emotional abuse and manipulation is really sexist.

People thought my mother was a nice person, too.

I’m sorry I could never be the daughter you wanted

When I have a daughter, and if she has a special dedication to a certain band, artist, and if by any chance, they live miles away from us, I will legit buy plane tickets and take my kid to wherever the fuck her future husband lives. I will take her to meetings. Buy her merch. Fangirl with her. Because I know what it feels like to have your world falling apart when you can’t meet the person you’d die for. And my daughter won’t feel that way. I won’t let her feel that way. Nope.

Ellie my child… oh God, you know there is a fuckening shitstorm brewing for this woman

“I dreamt I was at Axehampton, lying by the waterfall”

And every single episode brings us closer and closer to Joe

Then there’s her dad and kiddos and the problems with Tom

And her personal grief, the way she can relate to Trish’s needs, and what happened to her, and how she’s so traumatised by what men have done and hiding it behind this wall of anger

something bad is going to happen to ellie and when it does I’m going to defenestrate myself

“Zoe, the movie’s about to start!” you shouted through your apartment, throwing a handful of popcorn into your mouth while the opening credits of another Disney film lit up your TV screen. This was how you spent your Sundays with Zoe, being lazy and watching movies while the weather grew colder outside. It was definitely colder in Seoul than what you were used to in your hometown.

Zoe came into the living room huffing and puffing with her lips pulled into a pout. “We can’t watch the movie. I can’t find Mr Snuggles,” she grumbled, climbing onto the sofa to check behind it.

“Have you checked the bathroom? You were giving Mr Snuggles a bath in the sink this morning,” you remembered, holding her hand so she could safely jump off the sofa and sprint out of the room again.

Five seconds later, Zoe’s voice echoed from the bathroom. “I found him!”

Btw innocent human beings die every fucking day. Humans who had lives. I dont see you advocating for that. I hope one day when you have a daughter she gets raped at 12 and you have to make a decision. Not so easy then. Open your fucking eyes.

“open your fucking eyes” says the outright shrill who told me she hopes my daughter gets raped at 12.  Are you kidding me?

Have you been through my blog?  My life? Do you know how many people, strangers and friends, who have asked for my help in reaching resources when they are pregnant?  Suicidal?  Struggling with abuse?

Do you know how much I have donated to food shelters, or pregnancy centers?  Do you know how much I have cried and prayed over the poor girls that are raped and treated like dirt because their Extremist Muslim captors think they have the right to own them?  Do you know whether or not I have been face to face with homeless people, and laughed and talked with them about life?  Do you know that I run a blog on fertility awareness, and people have come to me feeling empowered about this new knowledge on their bodies?

Of course you don’t.  You don’t care.  You only care that I have a very different view on how to give support and compassion to women when pregnant.  And honestly, I don’t owe you a record sheet of all the good deeds I’ve done in life.

I’m sorry that you are so bitter that you wish my own daughter to get raped and pregnant.  I’m sorry that you can not control your emotions nor have the maturity to deal with people who think differently from you.  I’m sorry that you feel like the only way to justify my sin of being pro-life is to send me such hateful messages about me and my family.

So much for being pro-choice; you are all the same.  Very few people get blocked from my account, but I’d rather not receive more vile threats to my family’s safety.  Christ have mercy because your sister needs love from you, and you’re wasting such precious time spewing venom at me.

Here’s some Susan Pevensie and Wendy Darling headcanons

  • they met in england a few years after susan lost her family
  • susan hasn’t smile in months and she’s thinking about moving to america because england looks too much like narnia
  • but damn wendy changed everything
  • they’re so different
  • one is light itself
  • when the other is more reserved
  • wendy wanted to be a pirate when susan was a queen
  • but they’re also so alike
  • they’re both very motherly
  • but more importantly they’re two girls who went into a magical land
  • but don’t belong there anymore
  • they know how it feels
  • they tell each other’s stories
  • they talk about mermaids
  • and fairies
  • and lost boys
  • they hold hands
  • and they kiss
  • and wendy becomes susan’s new family
  • they’ve been told they wouldn’t be happy back on earth
  • but here they are growing old side by side

Inner court children head canons??? I hope you have a better day ❤❤

Thank you!!

Moriel - No kids. Not ever. As mentioned in a previous ask, I think Mor and Az are fulfilled enough with each other and don’t need children. They’ll be chasing Rhys and Feyre’s little ones around enough as it is, haha.

Feysand - Okay, in reality, they probably have two. But I’d be super down if they had one super special, amazing, talented little trouble maker of a child. And I’d prefer it were a girl who has Feyre’s look for the most part, but gets the wings and eyes from Rhys. I think she’d be a lot like Feyre in personality - stubborn and determined and daring as hell. But I think Rhys takes her on a lot of father/daughter dates, you know him and his spa days and such… I think they spend time at the beaches and in the artists quarter of Velaris. But she’s willing to go out with mom and explore too. After the war, Rhys and Feyre are content to be homebodies. It hasn’t been that long for Rhys that he was stuck for fifty years away from his home and Feyre wants to feel like she has a home. When they finally have their daughter years later (and by years I mean like 1,000+ years - no children PLEASE for at least several good long centuries), it’s their daughter who makes them want to get out more and see the world again, visit other courts. They do it when they’re obligated of course, but their daughter makes them want to explore even when they don’t have to. And when she grows up, she’s an excellent politician and Rhys knows that if the day ever comes where he and Feyre aren’t there anymore, the Night Court will be in good hands.

Elucien - ALL THE CHILDREN ALL DAY EVERY DAY ALL THE TIME. They’re gonna procreate like rabbits basically. Just when Lucien thinks the last little terror has left the manor for good, oh - whoops, Elain is preggers is again. Oh well what are you gonna do, and Lucien not-so-secretly loves having a big family anyway. He grew up with one, but the one he starts with Elain is loving and lacks the torments he received as a child. When his sons and daughters grow up, they have a wonderful time visiting the Autumn Court and giving Beron hell for what he did to their father. When the Elucien household isn’t being feisty (and let’s face it, when are they not really?) they are always busy. It’s like a fantasy world equivalent of soccer practice, cello lessons, and after school specials. Someone always has some kind of sport or recital. Elain particularly enjoys traveling Prythian with her kids to watch their various talents flourish and no two kids have the same abilities. Lucien gets a bit exhausted by it from time to time, but he can’t imagine it any other way.

Nessian - You know, I could see them being a cross of Moriel/Feysand easily. No kids or one is enough. I think Nesta is unsure what motherhood would bring her, but she never shies away from a challenge. And Cassian has always wanted a family, but he’s fine with just one and after Nesta brings the little thing into the world and screams at him, “Never again in seven courts and I doing that,” he laughs and says, “Okay.” And it’s a girl and she’s super close with Feyre’s daughter. The two sisters will sometimes sit back and watch their little girls play who both are so much like them, and they’ll be sad they never got that as kids themselves, but they’re happy life has brought them here, given them a second chance. The girls take turns sleeping over every other night practically to the point that it drives their parents nuts and eventually Mor has to just step in and say, “Give them to me, geez” and she wears them out with shopping and lunch dates and all sorts of auntie fun. And the Nessian kid - she’s a spitfire. Nesta and Cass weren’t prepared for how deadly a combination mom’s iron will and dad’s fearless spirit could be, but damn - there it is in their daughter. She raises hell throughout the entire court and breaks hearts wherever she goes.
