when i figured out what it all meant

{Future}
  • Aries: You'll be as bright as the sun and make the most difficult choices in your life soon. Chin up, spit the blood, and fight for your beliefs.
  • Cancer: Maybe things seem pretty rough right now. Think about what you want for the long run, maybe it's not what you want now. Where are you in 10 years?
  • Taurus: You're always so nervous and tedious about your work. You know what? If you're trying to impress something or someone to get what you want, maybe it's not for you. Because if you're not doing what you love to impress people, screw that. Do what you want.
  • Gemini: Oh boy. You have no idea. You have such big dreams and so little time. Go with what you want and don't let anybody get in the way of it. You're really never late to anything. There's time, just a limited amount.
  • Leo: Summer down, maybe your dream when you were little won't work. Maybe it will, who knows? The thing is, don't live your life in solitude, find someone to adventure with and show your colors.
  • Virgo: My dear, don't be afraid of society's rules, they're meant to be broken. Prove your point. Be an example. Break the glass.
  • Libra: You've been told what to do and how to do it for too long. Stop obeying and start pioneering your own future. Dream for yourself.
  • Scorpio: You think you have it all figured out don't you? Just know that life throws curveballs all the time. Be ready for anything darling.
  • Sagittarius: Maybe you don't know. Maybe you know. You're in the dark yet you see light. I promise it will become clear for you one day when you probably least expect it.
  • Capricorn: You're ambitious but not supported. I'm sorry. Put yourself in a healthy group of people and environment and you'll grow as fast as time passes.
  • Aquarius: You can not see the future and there are things you won't be able to predict. Stop trying so hard and let go. You'll find your success elsewhere. Don't expect a pretty platter of success to be handed to you.
  • Pisces: You fall but you need to get back up. Don't loose sight of what's important to you and your journey. You've grown so much in this period of time. Keep it up and success will be great.

“Ha-ha. No.” It wasn’t the politest greeting in the world—actually, it might have been one of the rudest, but in your opinion, it was warranted. Before anyone could speak, you raised a hand and waggled a finger at each of the three men before you. “Whatever it is, it’s a ‘no’ from me.”

  • “I’m both a lover and a fighter. I’ll take you down and then give you a kiss.”
What Do You Feel | 002

Who: Jughead Jones
What: Riverdale

Part One ||| Part Two

Veronica looked over her shoulder, frowning as she watched [Y/N] laugh and chuck a few french fries in Reggie’s direction. It had been weeks since the whole Jughead and [Y/N] incident and [Y/N] was keeping her distance from her normal group of friends. Turning back around, she reached for her milkshake and fiddled with the straw. “I know the topic of [Y/N] is sort of off limits but I miss her.”

Without missing a beat, Jughead’s eyes snapped up from his laptop, his cold expression icing her bones. Normally, he could tune out his friends but ever since the rift between him and [Y/N], his focus had been all over the place.

Putting her hands up in submission and then crossing them over her chest, she leaned back into the booth, frowning again. “Sorry but I’m just speaking the truth.” Lowering her gaze to the table, she sighed. “She should be sitting here with us, not with the fuckboys and fuckgirls of Riverdale.” Veronica shuddered at the group of people [Y/N] had taken comfort with for the past few weeks.

Kevin avoided Jughead’s ice cold stare, nodding in agreement. “Not trying to throw myself to the wolves but I agree with Veronica.” Running his finger over the faded design of their booth, he flickered a look behind him towards [Y/N]. He could tell that she wasn’t entirely happy by the way her smile would falter just a smidge after she finished her laugh, [Y/N] was extremely easy to read for those who truly knew her.

Archie, who sat directly behind Jughead and the others in a separate booth, chimed in. “It’s weird not having her here. I mean, have you tried talking to her since it happened, Jughead?”

Betty violently turned around, her eyes narrowed with a look that could have killed. She had been there for the aftermath and saw firsthand the broken state it left Jughead in. “Let’s change the subject, guys.” Throwing everyone dirty looks, she changed the topic onto an altercation between her and Cheryl that had happened earlier that day.

Slinging off his helmet from the day’s practice, Archie walked through halls of Riverdale High. Just as he was about to reach the locker rooms, movement at the end of the hall caught his attention. Squinting his eyes, he headed for [Y/N]. He watched as she placed a physics textbook back into her locker, he figured that she had just gotten done with a tutor session. [Y/N] always helped out her classmates whenever they needed an extra hand.

“[Y/N].”

She gasped, clutching the locker door from being startled. “Archie! Shit, you scared me.”

Leaning against the lockers, he frowned slightly. “Sorry, didn’t mean to.”

Pressing her lips together, she tore her eyes from his and started to shove some books into her bag. “Need something?” She finally asked.

“Yeah, I do. An explanation.” He firmly stated.

Closing her locker, she frowned. “Archie,” she warned.

Come on, [Nickname].” Archie pleaded. He hadn’t been lying when he said it had been weird with [Y/N] straying from their friendship. Even his father was noticing the absence of a certain girl.  “It’s been weeks and we’ve barely held a conversation long enough for me to know if you’re okay. We’re best friends or at least I thought we were. I care about you, [Nickname]. You just cut me off, you cut everyone off. I wanted to be there for you.” Archie reached out for her arm as she went to turn away, pulling her back gently, and shaking his head. “You and Jughead can coexist in our lives, [Y/N].”

“Shouldn’t you be at practice,” she asked coldly.

Letting go of her arm, he narrowed his eyes lightly. “It got cut short today.”

Frowning, she looked down, “I’m sorry, Archie. I didn’t mean it like that.” Looking back up, she sighed. Closing her locker, she gave a small smile. “I know you guys wanted to be there for me but I didn’t want to talk about it. I didn’t want you guys defending him and making me feel like I was wrong for ending things.” Adjusting the strap of her bag, she placed her back against her locker. “And to be completely honest if I stuck around, Jughead wouldn’t have. And he really needed you guys more than I did.”

Archie pressed his lips together, [Y/N] had a point. She was easy to get along with, people flocked to her. Jughead wasn’t necessarily a loner but he kept to himself and only trusted those who knew him. And that list wasn’t very long. Giving her a smile, he pulled her into a hug. Squeezing her tight and relishing the time he had left with her. He could tell that tomorrow she’d continue to avoid him.

“Juggie,”

Jughead looked up from his blank screen, finding Betty standing in the doorway of the Blue and Gold room. Clearing his throat, he lowered the laptop. “Yeah?”

Stepping inside, she walked slowly towards him. All Betty wanted was for Jughead to get out of his mood. “How are you feeling?”

Groaning, he ran both his hands over his face and kept them there. “Isn’t that the million dollar question.” Peaking through his fingers, he sighed, “I don’t know.”

Betty sat in front of him, frowning. “You don’t know or you don’t want to say? There’s a difference, Jug.”

Pulling his hands down, he narrowed his eyes. “What?”

Biting her lip, “You love [Y/N], you have to. And I’m not saying that you have to love her. I mean it as there’s no way that you don’t.” Betty had witnessed the romance between her friends happen. It was just a gradual fall. Every day, she’d notice that they’d sit just a little bit closer than the day before, their looks would linger for a second or two longer, and that their smiles were wider by the day. It was such a sweet, innocent kind of love that formed between them. Betty wanted nothing more than to talk about it but she knew that the minute she said something, they’d shy away and never return.

Jughead closed his eyes, “Betty.” He didn’t want to talk about it. He just wanted to forget about it and let it die. If [Y/N] wanted to run off with another group then so be it.

“Why didn’t you tell her how you felt, Juggie? This whole thing could have been avoided and your relationship would’ve been stronger.”

“You wouldn’t understand,” he mumbled.

“Try me, Juggie.” Betty murmured.

Biting down on his thumb, he looked away from her intent gaze. Mumbling, he moved his thumb away from his lips. “When we were all little, my dad used to tell me that I was going to fall in love with her and that he could see it happening years from then.” Betty smiled lightly at the thought of his father calling his romance. Now that she thought about it, it was sort of easy to see that Jughead and [Y/N] would have ended up together all those years ago. They had always been attached at the hip, always supporting each other through everything.“He also told me that girls like [Y/N] were dangerous.”

Betty’s brows knitted together, “I don’t understand.” Of all the people in Riverdale, [Y/N] was the least dangerous, she was always so calm and collected.

Shaking his head, he shrugged. “I didn’t either until I asked him the other day what he meant when he said that.” Running a hand over his beanie, he sighed again. “He kind of looked at me and pieced it all together. I guess I’m not as good at hiding my emotions like I thought I could. He figured out that [Y/N] and I were more than friends and that we broke up. He just looked at me and asked me what I felt and that, that was the reason why she was dangerous.” Meeting Betty’s eyes, he frowned. “How do I tell her words that have never been formed or ever existed. Because that’s what I feel whenever I’m around her.”

Betty placed a warm hand over his, “Then you use words that already exist.”

[Y/N] didn’t know how the fight started or what made it happen, all she did know was that she and Archie walked straight into a fighting ring in the student lounge. Their classmates all cheering and recording Reggie and Jughead brawling in the middle of the room.

Exchanging looks with Archie, they both threw down their books and backpacks. Before Archie had the chance, [Y/N] beat him to it and grabbed Reggie by the back of his shirt and yanked him off of Jughead.

Slinging him away from her, [Y/N] snarled out while Archie quickly helped Jughead up off the ground. “Back off, Reggie.” The crowd quickly dispersed as Archie threateningly told all of them to leave or else there would be another fight.

Reggie scoffed, fixing his shirt from the scuffle. “He had it coming.”

“I think it was the other way around, buddy.” Jughead sneered as he held his bleeding nose. “I hope you choke on all that shit you talk.”

“That’s it, you little-” Reggie went for it but [Y/N] was quicker. Planting her feet firmly on the ground, she shoved him as hard as she possibly could causing him to stumble backwards onto the couch.

“-I said back off, Reggie!” [Y/N] snapped. She was absolutely livid, the fact that Reggie and Jughead were fighting infuriated her. [Y/N] hadn’t been a huge fan of Reggie but she accepted him for his flaws and tried to tolerate him. There were moments where she could see herself being friends with him but after today, she wanted nothing to do with him. Whether Jughead started the fight or not.

“Don’t put your hands on me or-”

“-or what?” Archie growled. Gently grabbing [Y/N]’s arm, he pulled her behind him. Stepping directly in front of his captain, he squinted his eyes. Archie didn’t think Reggie would swing at a girl but he didn’t want to take that chance. Despite [Y/N] avoiding him for the last few weeks, it didn’t matter. He was going to protect his friends no matter who it involved.

Reggie was about to respond but thought against it the second Betty, Veronica, and Kevin all came barging through the door to see the commotion.

[Y/N] was fuming, it was clear to anyone that was watching her that her blood was boiling. The students that were left were all in shock at her current demeanor. She had never shown anger this way not even when Cheryl had it out for her.

Taking a deep breath, she turned around to look at Jughead. He sported some cuts and a profusely bleeding nose. Glancing down at her wrist, she cursed silently, 2:54. The school’s nurse had already packed up and gone home for the day. Reaching over towards the table, she plucked a few tissues from the box and handed them over to Jughead. With her voice low and comforting, she placed a hand on his shoulder, ushering him towards the door. “Come on, let’s go.”

All of her friends exchanged looks, surprised that she was even talking to Jughead. Veronica pursed her lips, leaning towards Betty and quietly whispering. “Do you think this will mean we’ll have [Nickname] back?”

Betty watched carefully as [Y/N] gently guided Jughead past her, “I hope so but I don’t know.”

Leaning down to grab her backpack and books, she heard Reggie scoff, “Yeah, go run back to your little freakshow boyfriend.”

Tightening her grip on Jughead who tensed underneath her, she gave him a look as to not respond. Slinging her bag over her shoulder, her hand left Jughead as she turned to look Reggie in the eyes. “Cry me fucking river, Reggie. It was never going to happen.” Opening the door, she motioned for Jughead to go.

“You would have been a waste of my time anyway.”

Archie lost it, shoving him against the wall, “Hey! Watch that fucking mouth!”

Rolling her eyes, she gave Archie a smile, feeling stupid for shutting her friends out of her life. “Thanks Arch but,” looking at Reggie, she wore a look of disgust on her face. “you can only offend me if you mean something to me and Reggie, honey, you aren’t worth a damn thing to me.”

The silence was killing him, but he didn’t dare speak a word. Jughead just sat quietly in the nurse’s office while [Y/N] sneakily shuffled through the cabinets. Looking up when she kneeled down in front of him, he met her eyes. A sharp pain shot through his chest because all he wanted was to kiss her and tell her how much he had been an idiot for not going after her.

Biting her lip, [Y/N] handed him a wet rag to wipe his bloody nose. Watching him clean himself, she started to work on the cut just above his right eyebrow. After a few minutes of unbearable silence, she finally stood up and asked the question she had been dying to ask. “Why were you two fighting?”

Jughead debated on responding, but knew that he could never really shun her out the way she did with him. Looking down at his hands, he shrugged. “Just said some things I didn’t like.”

“Like?” She pushed.

He stood up too, walking past her and leaning against the nurse’s counter. “It’s Reggie, [Y/N]. He says shit all the time and it just pissed me off.” Avoiding her raised brow, he mumbled. “He was just talking about you.”

Tilting her head, she stood in front of him, with her arms crossed. “Saying what exactly?”

Taking a deep breath, he met her gaze. “That he was this close to sealing the deal with you. That he was going to take you to one of the rooms during Cheryl’s party tomorrow night.” Breaking their eye contact, he gave an irritated sigh, “It just made me snap because the thought of you-” Jughead quickly closed his mouth. He didn’t want to go there. He wasn’t ready.

Moving closer, she raised a brow. “The thought of me what? The thought of me losing my virginity to Reggie made you upset?” [Y/N] shook her head, her hands grabbing his. Her movement caused Jughead’s head snap up and look her in her eyes.

Nodding, he chewed on his lip. “Yeah.”

“Oh, Jug.” Dropping her hands from his, she brought one up to caress his cheek. “I already told you that you were the only one I wanted to claim it.”

“Yeah but that was before you broke up with me.” He said coldly.

Pulling back her hand, she nodded. “Yes but,” trailing off, she scoffed at the idea of Reggie having her virginity and the idea that he thought he could take it. “you couldn’t have possibly believed that I would let Reggie Mantle of all people-”

“-it wasn’t that, [Nickname].” Jughead interrupted, getting slightly frustrated. Gently pushing past her, he paced a few steps before turning around to look at her confused expression. “It was the way he was talking about you, [Y/N]. Like, like you were some kind of score. A thing that could be won. You aren’t an item, [Nickname]. You’re a person, a person with feelings, a person with feelings that broke up with someone who also had feelings he couldn’t explain.”

“Well,” biting her lip, “it means a lot that you’d stick up for me but,” she motioned towards his bruised eye and cuts, “was it worth bucking up to the Captain of the football team, Jug? I mean you got some really good licks in but not enough evidence on his face to back it up.”

“I wasn’t going to sit there and let him say those things about you, [Y/N].” Shaking his head, he scoffed, “It was a matter of time before Archie heard them and then what?”

Sighing, [Y/N] stepped forward. Throwing her arms around his neck, she pulled him in close. Her grip tightened when she felt him embrace her back. Fighting back tears, she whispered out. “I miss you, Juggie.”

Closing his eyes, he breathed, “I miss you too.”

Pulling away just enough for her to look him in the eyes, she murmured, “Can we take baby steps? I’m not completely over the fact that you can’t tell me what you feel but I guess I have to accept that we just work better without words but I need to go slow.”

Jughead couldn’t resist kissing her, both of his hands flew up her cheeks and pulled her into a kiss. It lasted for a few seconds but it was enough to give him courage for what he had to say next. Resting his forehead against hers, he sighed lightly. “I know that wasn’t slow but I just want you, [Nickname]. That’s it. Nothing else but your flaws, mistakes, laughs, jokes, sarcasm, everything. I didn’t know what I felt until you walked away because everything I ever felt with you was normal. I had never felt any other way before. And then when you walked away. I felt broken. I felt like my entire world came crashing down around me and now…now I understand those lame sappy sad songs about broken love.” He chuckled with her, suddenly feeling a little bit better after hearing her giggle.

“Juggie,” she breathed.

“Love isn’t supposed to be easy. It’s supposed to be worth it and no one else is worth an ounce of my attention besides you. Years from now when we’ve said goodbye to this shit town, I want to look at you by my side and think how lucky I am to have kept you this long.”

[Y/N] couldn’t respond, she was choked up. This was what she wanted to hear. That Jughead had the same exact plans as she did, that she wasn’t the only one feeling this way. Smiling, she pressed her lips against his.

I didn’t see her love, I felt it plainly as the sun. -atticus

Also: The camera switches to Dean's face. During the "I love all of you" Cas' voice is a lot more steady, he looks up to Sam (I think), but his eyes dart straight back to Dean (who seems to be trying to say something). One other thing! Cas' didn't say "I love you. All of you", she made two independent sentences, as though he tried to show that he was talking about two different things. But I am no meta writer, so I'd love to know what you think about it.(sry for any English faults btw) 2/2

Hello, dear! I believe you sent me two messages (because of the 2/2), but unfortunately I never received message number 1. However, let’s talk about the infamous “I love you” you mentioned in this message.

In someone else’s post about that specific scene that I reblogged probably a day after the episode aired, I said that when Cas first said “I love you”, I understood it as his way of expressing his feelings for the three Winchesters present. However, WHY IN THE NAME OF CHUCK DID CAS FEEL THE NEED TO CLARIFY HIS “I LOVE YOU”?

The moment he said “I love all of you”, I had to stop and think for a moment. That simple sentence completely changed the meaning of the first one. It’s obvious that Cas felt he needed to clarify because the first “I love you” wasn’t clear enough. That was an incredibly ambiguous scene because there are three ways in which we could read the whole thing:

  • Interpretation 1: When Cas said “I love you” he meant the three of them, but he thought that because his history with Mary is very brief compared to the one he has with the brothers, she wouldn’t think his statement included her. That’s why he wanted to make sure she understood that he loves HER as much as he loves her sons.
  • Interpretation 2: When Cas said “I love you” he meant the three of them, but he thought that both Sam and Mary wouldn’t think they were included there because of the more profound bond he shares with Dean. That’s why he wanted to ensure that all three Winchesters knew they mean a lot to him, not just Dean.
  • Interpretation 3: When Cas said “I love you” he said it for Dean, but then he wanted to extend the feeling to the rest of his family because he wanted them to know the three of them were important to him.

The audience was in charge of deciding which interpretation they preferred. The people who can’t pick up on any kind of subtext probably thought the first “I love you” was for Dean and Sam and the clarification was meant to include Mary. On the contrary, the biggest Destiel shippers probably picked the third interpretation, the one in which the first “I love you” was meant for Dean.

Although the three interpretations are equally valid, the first one makes more sense only in text. When you watch the scene, though, the third interpretation is more logical. Why do I say that? It’s just that when Cas starts giving his speech, he has no trouble looking at the three Winchesters. His eyes go from Sam to Dean to Mary and over again. He doesn’t keep eye contact with any of them for too long but looks at the three of them. Even when he says, “You’re my family”, he looks at Sam, then at Dean, then at Mary, but then he does this:

He can’t meet anybody’s eyes! Why does Cas avoid eye contact?

Besides, as you pointed out, the camera immediately switches to Dean. Why? Why would they do that?

When Cas says “I love all of you”, he doesn’t look at the three of them as he did when he said they were his family. He just briefly looks at Sam and then keeps eye contact with Dean like this:

And Dean’s reaction? He looks like he just figured out what Cas meant (just as the rest of us did):

If we just read the transcript of the episode, we may interpret Cas’ lines differently. The thing is that the camera shots, Misha’s and Jensen’s acting choices, all that contribute to a Destiel-friendly interpretation of the whole thing.

Let’s also remember that only two episodes before, Dean was kinda established as Castiel’s human weakness (AGAIN). Just two episodes before we learned that angels can have feelings for humans.

In conclusion, we’re not delusional. We’re just reading the signs that the writers, directors, actors, and editors are putting there.

If people decide they prefer interpretation 2 that I mentioned above, it’s still Destiel-friendly. It still means Cas himself thinks that if he says “I love you” when Dean is present, people won’t include themselves in the statement because they will think that Cas means only Dean. Cas feels he needs to clarify who he means because people will associate Cas’ I love you to Dean for default.

Personally, I’m OK with interpretations 2 and 3, but I’ll stick with the third one because it’s the one that makes more sense when you’re actually watching the scene without wearing heteronormative goggles.

Timing is irrelevant when two people are meant for each other. It’s what I once believed.

But we met during a time when I was such a mess, when I still had so much to figure out. How could I have known how crucial every word, every action was or how losing you would be something I would always regret?

If only you could have met me now, how different it would be. How much I have changed. How I have grown. I learned so much from all the mistakes I made with you. I just wish I had made them with someone else.

What do you mean by "they're telling us what's going to happen?" Also, do you feel more confidence that an end is in sight?

I think if things were meant to feel genuinely organic, they would, that’s all. I mean, as I told someone else a bit ago, if you or I could make up a strategy that would make everything seem genuine, don’t you think even the most moderately capable professional PR people could do the same?

As for the end… yes, I do, but in all fairness, I’ve felt like that a dozen times in the last couple of years. So don’t look to me to see the future :)

So we wait. And we see. And we remember that when we’re not meant to see things, we don’t. And what we do see, 99% of the time, is intentional. Figuring out the intention is the question, not if it was intentional at all.

BTS Reaction - Teaching them English slang

levithesmolsmolbean said: Can i get a reaction to their gf ( a native english speaker) trying to teach them slang (that doesnt translate well into korean)

So I’m an American and for this one I’m just gonna use English slang that I use with my friends on a daily basis. I’m sorry if some of you don’t understand the slang or what it means - if it’s something you’re confused about please message me and I will explain! Some of these do translate fine into Korean - but the meanings of each word are obviously different than what they actually mean when they’re considered English slang.

Jimin:

“’Rip?’ Why do you say that everytime I insult one of the hyungs?” Jimin would ask. You’d just laugh and tell him that it’s English slang, and truly doesn’t translate well into Korean.

“It means like..how do I even explain myself,” you laugh, before continuing. “Saying ‘rip’ is like saying “ouch, that one hurt” or “that was insulting” to someone who was just insulted by someone else. It’s ironic.”

Jimin would just look at you weirdly before slowly walking away.

Jungkook:

“She’s a snake? What do you mean?” He’d ask, looking at you and back at the phone where your boss was telling you that you had to come in early and work late the next day.

“It means she’s two-faced. Sorry,” you’d laugh, and Jungkook would probably, over the course of the next few days, send you snake memes when you were apart. You weren’t even sure if he understood what calling someone a “snake” meant. Oh well.

Suga:

“No. Yoongi. Repeat after me: SAL-TEY. Salty.” You’d be halfway through an English lesson with Yoongi. He had asked you to teach him more English and its safe to say English slang was not his strong suit.

“Salty? Like your ramen is salty? Because that happens a lot when I let Jungkook make it.” Suga would say, and you’d burst out laughing at his take on the word. “It means you’re not necessarily mad at someone, but their actions are distasteful and you’re annoyed with them.”

“Oh, alright. I got,” he began, lifting an eyebrow and smugness taking over his features, “salty at Jin for arguing yesterday. How’s that.”

Namjoon:

He’s pretty fluent in English, so there wasn’t a ton he could learn from you. Although he knew textbook English and how to speak and write it, he wasn’t familiar with a lot of the slang words. You’d constantly speak in English and he appreciated it when you did because it helped him with his own pronounciation and learning, but then you’d say some shit like this:

“Ha, bet.”

He’d stop his sassy argument with you and say, “Bet? What are we betting?” The confused look on your face made you burst out with laughter. “No, not betting, but like - when you say “bet” it means like, “Oh yeah, just watch, I’ll do it, no problem.” Namjoon would begin saying the word a thousand times a day after that.

Taehyung:

You: this is going be lit I’m so excited

When Taehyung received that text message from you, he stared at it for a long time. First of all, the message in it’s entirety was in all Korean besides the word “lit.” Being the awkward noodle he is, he’d be standing in the middle of the sidewalk and trying to sound out the three letter word while people rushed past him, hitting him once in awhile as they hurried away.

Eventually, he’d get frustrated and call you. “It means that you’re going to have a good time and you know it’s going to be fun.” Later that day during practice, he’d tell all the boys that this particular choreography was going to be “lit.” They’d just stare at him while Namjoon burst into laughter.

J-Hope:

“K.”

It’s all your text message had said, and Hoseok couldn’t figure out what you meant. He understands that it’s an English letter, but why would you just send a random “K” in the middle of an argument?

The two of you had been arguing over appointments and schedules over text and he had sent a paragraph explaining why he couldn’t cancel, and all he got back was “K.” He texted you back with, “What does that mean?”

You’d walk in the door, argument forgotten as you laugh about him not knowing what you meant. “I was mad at you. You send that to people you’re kinda annoyed with when you want them to stop talking.” You said, glancing at his expression. He looked blankly down at his phone then back up at you before saying, “K,” and walking away with a smug look on his face.

Jin:

In your contact list, you had your best friend listed as “THOT” with a fire emoji and a few hearts next to it. Jin heard your phone beep with a message, and picked it up to see the word blinking on your home screen. When you came back from the kitchen, he’d ask, “Y/N, what does ‘tha-oot mean?”

You’d begin to laugh so hard at his pronounciation before grabbing your phone and looking at where he got the word from before saying, “Thot. I affectionately call Y/B/F/N that because it’s funny. It means like, well, it could be negative or positive. It’s kinda bad.”

Jin would just give you a disapproving look before shaking his head and turning his attention back to the TV.

  • Taehyung: I have a serious question.
  • Jungkook: okay.
  • Taehyung: why do you love playing with Jin-hyung so much? This is said with the knowledge that you play with all of us, but you definitely pick on Jin-hyung more. Why?
  • Jungkook: his reactions are funny.
  • Taehyung: no.
  • Jungkook: like, his eyes get really big and and his mouth gapes open and he's just so outraged. Like, if I bite Namjoon-hyung, he kinda just thinks, "oh, that's Jungkookie," but Jin-hyung REACTS.
  • Taehyung: that's it? It's not because you have a hard time expressing your emotions and it's way easier to be silly and tease us than to tell us that you love us? It's not because you do secretly look up to Jin-hyung and granted, it's very easy to test his patience, but he still looks after you and you just don't really know how to say thank you?
  • Jungkook: so when you said serious...
  • Taehyung: I meant serious.
  • Jungkook: he's got good reactions.
  • Taehyung: and?
  • Jungkook: and maybe a little bit of what you said. A little. A teensy bit. You just know me pretty well, that's all. You're not super smart or anything.
  • Later, Taehyung: Minnie! I'm really smart! I figured out why Kookie plays with Jin-hyung so much!
  • Jimin: you mean how he has a hard time expressing his emotions?
  • Taehyung:
  • Jimin:
  • Taehyung: that's just because you know Jungkook really well. You're not super smart, or anything.
  • Later, Jimin: so, Kookie, any time you want to work on expressing yourself, you can practice with me.

Understanding

Happy Valentines’ Day. Have a post 12x11 coda. Read it on Ao3 Here.

He set his hand on Cas’ knee just below the table. It could have been a brief moment, a squeeze meant to convey understanding or camaraderie, but he left his hand there too long for that. Now Dean kept looking away. He looked at the far wall, the plate in front of him, Sam, his mom, the door to the diner. The door dinged when it opened to let people in and out. He contemplated escape, yet he didn’t remove his hand.

Dean thought of excuses. He thought of all the reasons he could give for this. He’d recently been under a spell and it made him forgetful. Maybe he’d forgotten how to behave appropriately. His hand was cursed. Cas was made from glue. That last one was dumb, but the others might work. He chanced a glance at Cas just then and saw that Cas was looking steadily right back at him. His eyes were equal parts sad and confused, like he wanted to ask Dean about their little secret under the table, but he didn’t. He just sat there quietly accepting this moment that was lasting entirely too long. It had been hours, no days, no an eternity. Actually, it had been minutes. Still.

The worst part was that Dean knew why he looked sad. Dean was pushing him. Dean was asking him in this moment to break one more goddamn rule for him. He was asking him to chuck heaven, commit to something that he himself had said was abominable and for what. Dean left his hand there though. He wasn’t quite ready to give up.

Sam was saying something. Dean half listened, and luckily his mom was keeping the conversation going, responding to Sam’s words. Occasionally, Cas spoke too. Dean knew that he’d have to tune in eventually, weigh in on the topic of the moment, but that was exactly why he was having the existential crisis he was having in the moment.

They’d spoken of Ishim. They’d spoken of the one rule that all the angels had to abide by, and how Lucifer had turned that rule on its head. Cas had sounded disgusted by it. Dean though, Dean, felt differently. He heard them all agreeing that it was bad or wrong. He heard something else. He heard reasons for why he’d never get the one thing he wanted, and it just about killed him.

So he set his hand on Cas and didn’t let go. He imagined holding on so long that his hand just burned right into him, marked him as his. It was maybe wrong. He could feel his heart beating up into his throat and he could barely swallow the rising lump that was also forming there. He’d cry if he were alone. He’d cry over the hopelessness of it all. He’d cry over the selfishness that had brought him to this place, and he’d cry over the fact that he couldn’t even beg, just beg Cas to break just one more stupid rule, for him, for them.

Fucked Up

Summary: Ian regrets breaking up with Mickey, so he does something about it.

Word Count: 887

Notes: I feel like this request was in my inbox forever, so sorry if it took so long!

Ian was pacing back and forth in his living room. He currently wanted to scream or rip his hair out. “How fucking stupid could I be to break up with Mickey? How fucking stupid am I?” Ian asked Debbie. He was literally on the verge of going off the deep end.

Debbie’s heart broke at her distressed brother, but at the same time she was glad to see him actually feeling something for once. She frowned at the sight; he was right though, it was a fucking idiotic move of him to break up with Mickey. “Ian, you’re head wasn’t on straight. For God’s sake, you were with Monica right before you did that so obviously you’re mind was in the wrong,” she said in a kind voice.

The tall redhead shook his head. “Fucking Monica always ruining everything— no, no, she’s a psycho, but this is my fault,” he said. “I- I gotta do something, Debs. I gotta do something, but I don’t know what to fucking do!” His head was now in his hands, but his was still rapidly walking around the house.

“Okay, seeing you like this is better than seeing you all emotionless and shit, but fucking grow a set and call him or go see him. You love each other, it’s not like you won’t get back together,” she said causing Ian to relax a little, but he suddenly tensed back up. “What now?”

Ian’s eyes were wide. “Fuck. He told me he loved me and I didn’t say it back. Goddamnit!” He then took off out of the house, leaving Debbie alone and sort of thankful that Ian was there to talk her ear off anymore.

He ran as fast as he could to the Milkovich household. The sound of his feet pounded against the concrete and his heart thumping in his chest rang in his ears. He ran so quick that his legs burned, all because he needed to see Mickey, to let him know he loves him.

When Ian arrived to the house, he knocked on the door hard enough that Mickey would hear from his bedroom. After about twenty seconds of no one answering, Ian busted right in. He didn’t bother to say hello to Iggy, who was sitting on the couch with a blunt, instead he just stormed to his ex-boyfriend’s bedroom.

After pushing the door open, he saw Mickey laying in bed with a cigarette between his lips, a gun in his hand, and beer cans surrounding him. Ian looked from where the gun was to the wall, which had plenty of holes in it. It’s heart dropped a little at the sight, he couldn’t stand that he put Mickey in this pain.

Mickey noticed Ian’s presence and shrugged. “What the fuck do you want, Gallagher?”

“Mickey, I’m sorry. I’m so fucking sorry, I fucked up.” Ian walked closer, but when Mickey turned his head away he stopped.

The Milkovich boy snorted. “Didn’t fuckin’ seem like it when you were breaking up with me. Fucking asshole, all I wanted to fucking do was be there for you, and you made it damn clear you don’t want that,” he said and shot a round from the pistol. “Get out, Ian. There’s no point in you being here if you don’t want me.”

Ian’s face dropped more than it already was. “I want you. I need you. I’m sorry, Mickey, please. My head is just so fucked up and I don’t even realize what I’m doing anymore. Even though this is all on me, Monica put some crazy shit in my mind, and I couldn’t figure out right from wrong at the time. I was fucking wrong though, I shouldn’t have left you.”

Mickey shook his head, and shot the gun a second time since Ian’s been there. His facial features displayed anger, but his eyes looked sad. And like he is when something’s bothering him, he was silent.

“You said you love me,” Ian claimed. Mickey’s eyes widened and his shoulders tightened, and that was enough for Ian to know he meant it. “I love you.”

“Don’t fucking lie to me,” Mickey said with exasperation. There was an underlying pain in his voice that made Ian want to go wrap his arms around him.

Ian stepped forward again. “I love you,” he repeated. Mickey looked away, but now Ian was close enough to reach out for him. The redhead grabbed Mickey’s face and turned it towards him. “I fucking love you, Mickey,” he said for the third time.

Tears started to well in Mickey’s eyes. For a moment, he really thought Ian was done with him. Nearly absentmindedly, he threw his arms around the other boy and pulled him into a tight hug. “You mean it?”

Ian let out a breath of relief. “I mean it,” he said into Mickey’s neck.

A single tear rolled down Mickey’s cheek and into Ian’s hair. “I love you too,” he whispered. He had been waiting to hear that for months.

The redhead tightened his grip around Mickey. “I’m so fucking sorry I did that to you.”

“We’ll be okay,” Mickey said with a cracked voice. In reality though, it was the truth. Yes, it’ll be hard, but Ian Gallagher and Mickey Milkovich are in love, and nothing can change that.

Sprezzatura

Remember forever ago when @gettzi posted that great art of Nursey and his ballerina sister and I said I also headcanoned him with a ballerina sister because I had a whole thing about him and the concept of sprezzatura, which I learned in ballet class and therefore so did he? I finally wrote it.

There was a period of about two years, back when Derek was just starting middle school, when he spent two afternoons a week, every week, doing his homework in the corner of his sister’s ballet studio. At first it was because their nanny didn’t have time to drop him off before Naimah had to be at her class, and once they were at the studio, it made far more sense to just stay until her class was over and then head back home together. Derek didn’t mind, did he? He totally minded. It was lame and stupid and… actually kind of beautiful…

Maybe he didn’t mind. Maybe, even after the drop off scheduling conflict cleared up, he still found a reason it would be more convenient for him to go.

He soaked up a a lot of random stuff in those two years. A bunch of ballet French. An instinctive need to count things in eights. An affinity for waltz timing that would serve him well in later ballroom dance situations. An automatic need to correct his posture anytime he thought about a puppet string extending through his core and out the top of his head. And the concept of sprezzatura.

One thing he loved about sitting in the corner was that it was kind of like getting to look behind the curtain. Or at the inner workings of a clock. Ballet took work. And then it all came together.

“Girls,” called the teacher, clapping her hands twice for attention. “Girls, ballet is about grace. We are about to go into the annual performance. We are to give to the audience sprezzatura. I want the appearance of effortless beauty. You are there to present art. The choreography, the music, it should flow through you. The audience is not interested in how many times you had to practice that phrase across the floor. They are only interested in the final result. Your goal is to make it look both flawless and easy.”

He looked it up later and discovered it wasn’t really a ballet term at all. The dictionary just defined it as “studied carelessness,” but Wikipedia gave more background:

Sprezzatura [sprettsaˈtuːra] is an Italian word originating from Baldassare Castiglione’s The Book of the Courtier, where it is defined by the author as “a certain nonchalance, so as to conceal all art and make whatever one does or says appear to be without effort and almost without any thought about it”.[1] It is the ability of the courtier to display “an easy facility in accomplishing difficult actions which hides the conscious effort that went into them”.[2]

(Of course, it might have been helpful if he’d also noticed and remembered the following line as well:

Sprezzatura has also been described “as a form of defensive irony: the ability to disguise what one really desires, feels, thinks, and means or intends behind a mask of apparent reticence and nonchalance”.[3]

But that was an issue for the future.)

How about a Riverdale one-shot with established Betty/Jughead? Betty got over Archie before summer and started dating Jughead during the summer, and they're still a couple when the show stars. You may have to change the episodes a bit. I hope that's okay with you.

Here you go!!! I only did the first episode because it turned out to be a lot longer than I thought it would be. But I hope you like it!!!

“Juggie!” Betty couldn’t help but yell as soon as she entered Pop’s and spotted her beanie wearing boyfriend. She had loved her internship, but she had missed him like crazy. Jughead’s face lit up when he saw her. He stood up and gave her a huge hug and a quick soft kiss. Betty knew that he wasn’t crazy about PDA. She would make sure that they found some alone time soon to really show each other how much they were missed.

“Betts, aren’t you a sight for sore eyes.” Jughead said once they sat back down. “How was the internship?”

“It was amazing Juggie.” Betty clapped her hands in front of her in excitement. She had called him almost every night, so Jughead knew pretty much all of her stories, but she couldn’t help but gush some more about how incredible her time had been.

“I’m so happy for you.” Jughead said after she had finished talking. He reached across the table and took her hand, lacing their fingers together.

“What about you? How’s your great American novel coming along?” Betty asked, not failing to notice the happy smile that crossed Jughead’s face as he began to talk about his writing.

“It’s going well, although I’m pretty sure most of the town will be displeased at the way they are portrayed.” Jughead said with a small chuckle.

“And how am I portrayed?” Betty asked

“You’re just going to have to wait and find out.”

“Come on Juggie, please?” Betty begged

“Nope, no one can read this until it’s finished, no exceptions. Even for my beautiful girlfriend. But I will say that you are probably the person I had the most difficulty remaining objective about.”

“Aw” Betty smiled. Jughead prided himself in his ability to remain separate and objective about the town while writing. So the fact that he was admitting that it was hard to remain objective about her was one of the sweetest things that he could say.

“Hello” the two looked up as a girl approached them.

“Hi” Betty glanced in shock at the beautiful, dark-haired girl. She glanced at Jughead, unable to keep her insecurities from rearing their ugly head. Jughead was looking at the girl with slight curiosity, but nothing more. Betty mentally kicked herself for doubting him.

“I’m Veronica Lodge, I just moved here.” Veronica offered her hand to shake. Betty let go of Jughead’s hand and took the new girl’s.

“I’m Betty Cooper,” Betty replied, glancing over at Jughead who had started typing furiously. “And this is Jughead.”

“Jughead?” Veronica asked with a laugh

“Jughead Jones, the third.” Jughead added, giving Veronica a small smile before returning to his writing. Betty saw Veronica mouth his name and sent her a knowing look.

“What are you writing Jughead Jones the third?” Veronica asked

“I’m writing about you” Was Jughead’s simple reply

“Uh, he’s writing a novel about this town and some drama that happened over the summer.” Betty hurried to add, realizing how odd it sounded.

“Oh” Veronica looked like she was going to say more, but Pop came out at that moment with her order.

“Do you want to join us?” Betty asked

“Oh no, I should get this food back to my mom. But I’ll see you tomorrow in school right? It’ll be good to have some familiar faces.”

“Absolutely, I’m the one giving you your tour tomorrow.” Betty responded with a laugh.

“Perfect” Veronica gave them both a bright smile and then headed out of the door.

“Archie, that’s amazing” Betty said when Archie played them his song.

“Yeah, I thought we’d have to pretend to like it, but it was actually really good.” Kevin added in the way that only he could

“That was you?” Veronica asked as she joined them. Betty had introduced her to Kevin and Archie in the hall during the tour. She hadn’t missed the way that Veronica and Archie had looked at each other.

“Yes” Archie responded, blushing slightly

“Well, color me impressed.” Veronica said before turning to Betty. “So, where is that brooding boyfriend of yours?”

“Um…” Betty hesitated, sending a look at Archie who refused to meet her eyes. She still didn’t know exactly what had happened, but she did know that things were incredibly tense between Jughead and Archie at the moment. “He’s probably off writing somewhere” Betty answered vaguely, knowing that Veronica wasn’t fooled for a second.

“Uh huh…”

“Alright…well I have to go talk to Ms. Grundy about music classes.” Archie said and quickly picked up his things and bolted.

“What was that about?” Veronica asked when he was out of earshot

“Jughead and Archie are best friends, they have been for years. But over the summer they were supposed to go on a roadtrip, but Archie cancelled and didn’t give Jughead a reason…and then he apparently avoided Juggie for the rest of the summer. I was away at and internship so I’m still trying to figure out what happened.” Betty said with an unhappy sigh

“We’ll figure it out Betty” Kevin assured her. Betty gave him a small smile just as Jughead slid onto the bench next to her.

“Hi” he gave her a small peck on the cheek and then helped himself to half of her sandwich.

“I didn’t know all of that” Jughead stopped walking. Betty stopped beside him and looked at him curiously.

“All of what Juggie?”

“That you tried out for cheerleading and that Cheryl called you fat.” Jughead could barely contain his anger.

“It wasn’t really a big deal” Betty looked at her feet.

“Yes it is,” Jughead cupped her face in his hands. Betty looked up and met his eyes. Jughead felt a sudden want to punch Cheryl in the face for putting that sad look in Betty’s eyes. “Betty Cooper, you are a knockout, and anyone who doesn’t see that is an absolute moron.” Jughead said firmly, relaxing when she laughed.

“Thanks Juggie”

“Unfortunately, this means that I am going to have to break up with you”

“What?”

“Yeah, I have a very delicate reputation to protect and if I am known to be dating a cheerleading, it will until my who mysterious aura.” Jughead stepped back, keeping a straight face.

“Juggie!” Betty yelled with a laugh and snatched his hands before he could take another step.

“I’m serious Betty, this is the end of us.”

“I can’t stand you” Betty laughed again, but tugged his hands so they were standing close together once again. Jughead wrapped his arms around her and joined in her laughter.

“No you don’t.” He said and planted a kiss on her lips.

“So Archie doesn’t have a girl or anything does he?”

“Nope” Betty said as she and Veronica walked along the track in their new cheerleading uniforms

“I’m thinking of asking him to the dance.”
“Oh Ronnie, you should. That would be perfect.” Betty gushed. She caught sight of their redheaded friend and nudged Veronica.

“Hey Archie!” Veronica shouted and Archie jogged over to them.

“Hey you two, nice outfits.”
“Thanks Archiekins. Will you go to the dance with me?”

“Uhh…I don’t know Ronnie, I’m not really in the headspace for a dance.” Archie looked to Betty for help, but she simply gave him a smile and a shrug. She hadn’t know Veronica for long, but she did know there was no arguing with her.

“Come on, you won’t let the new girl go unescorted will you?” Veronica pushed

“Of course not.” Archie said with a sigh.

“Perfect. You and Jughead can pick Betty and I up at my place.”
“Oh…” Archie hesitated

“Veronica I’m not going with Jughead” Betty hurried to say.

“What? Why not?”

“Um, dances aren’t really his thing. I was just going to go with Kevin.”

“Okay, well in that case I’ll be there” Archie said and jogged away. Betty glared over her shoulder at him, annoyed that he didn’t seem willing to try to mend things with Jughead.

“No, this is not happening.” Veronica said

“What isn’t?”

“This…all of this drama. I swore it all off when I left New York City. We are going to get Archie and Jughead talking and then we are going to get Jughead to come to the dance with you.”

“Veronica that’s not necessary.”

“Oh but Betty dear it is, I just want to have a group of friends without all of the in fighting that there was in my previous groups.”

“Okay, I’m all for mending things between Arch and Juggie, but I’m really okay with Jughead not going to the dance. I like him just the way he is, and he’s not really the dance type guy.”

“Well, we’ll focus on Archie and Jughead for now…” Veronica said pulling Betty along

And that was how, later that night, Archie and Jughead ended up locked inside of Betty’s room. Veronica and Betty shut the door, telling them to deal with their issues and then headed downstairs for a cup of tea.

“Do you think this will work?” Betty asked with a grimace as she heard the boys begin to shout. She hated to see the two of them fight. Both of them meant so much to her and they had all been friends for so long.

“Kevin said that they were best friends right?”

“Yeah, since I can remember”

“Then they’ll figure it out.”

“How are you so sure?” Betty said, gesturing upstairs where the yelling continued.

“Because best friends fight, but if they’ve been friends for that long than they are obviously close and one silly fight isn’t going to undo years of friendship.”

“I wish I knew what it was all about” Betty said

“When they are ready, they’ll tell you.” Veronica said “So, while they are distracted, how about we plot our next scheme”

“Veronica if you are talking about getting Jughead to the dance-”

“Yes that is exactly what I’m talking about” Veronica interrupted her. “If you can look me in the eye and tell me that you don’t want to go to the dance with Jughead then i will back down.”

“I…” Betty tried, but she couldn’t honestly tell Veronica that.

“That’s what I thought. And have you told Jughead how you feel?”

“No, I don’t want him to feel like I’m pressuring him into anything.”

“B, that boy is crazy about you. Anyone can tell that. He only has eyes for you and I have no doubt that he will do anything for you.”

“Exactly, I know if I ask him then he will feel like he has to go. I was sort of hoping that he would ask me on his own. But if he doesn’t want to go, that’s okay with me.” Betty shrugged. She would love to go to a dance with Juggie. To both get dressed up and slow dance together, but she really didn’t mind going with Kevin. She knew exactly who Jughead was, and she didn’t expect him to change.

“Okay Betty” Veronica dropped it with a disapproving look.

“Hey, do you hear that?” Betty asked, noticing that the yelling upstairs had stopped.

“Let’s go see if these idiots have figured it out yet” Veronica linked her arm in Betty’s as they headed up the stairs. They leaned their ears against the door but couldn’t hear anything inside. Betty took out the key and unlocked the door. Jughead and Archie were both lounging on her bed, looking just like they had a hundred times.

“Oh thank god” Betty said, jumping on the bed and hugging both of them. They laughed and hugged her back. “I hated seeing you two fight” Betty said pulling away.

“We did too” Archie admitted

“So you guys have everything figured out?” Veronica asked. Jughead and Archie exchanged a look.

“It’s a start” Jughead said finally.

“Good enough for me” Betty said, wrapping her arms around Jughead and kissing him on the cheek.

“Well this calls for a celebration. How about I go pick up some takeout from Pop’s and we can watch a movie or something?” Veronica offered.

“Oooh food” Jughead nodded appreciatively.

“Good, I’m glad you like the idea, because considering half of the food will be yours, you are coming with me to help me carry it buster.” Veronica said to Jughead

“Oh no, I’ll go with you Veronica” Betty said, standing up in alarm.

“No, it’s okay. I’ll go” Jughead stood up and started walking out the door.

“No really, I’ll go. You two should keep talking.” Betty pleaded. Jughead stopped and looked between Veronica and Betty. But Veronica slipped her arm in Jughead’s and practically dragged him out of the door.

“We’ll be back soon” She threw over her shoulder. Betty gave a sigh and sat back on the bed. She knew exactly why Veronica wanted Jughead to be the one to go with her.

“So why didn’t Betty want me to come with you?” Jughead asked almost immediately after they left the Coopers.

“Wow, you don’t beat around the bush, do you?” Veronica said with a laugh.

“No, so why?”

“Because she is an amazing and incredibly selfless person.” Veronica answered with a sigh.

“What?” Jughead had no idea where this conversation was leading

“Jug, Betty wants to go to the dance with you, but doesn’t want to tell you that because she knows you hate dances and she doesn’t want to force you into anything.”

“What?” Jughead said again, his mind spinning. “But I asked her about and she said she was going with Kevin. She didn’t seem that interested.”

“That was an act for your benefit. She knew that if she said she wanted to go you would’ve felt obligated to take her.”

“I would’ve taken her if I had know, of course I would. But obligated isn’t the right word.” Jughead shook his head. “Making Betty happy makes me happy. I’d do anything for her, plus she puts other people first always, I feel like it’s my job to make sure she gets put first.” Jughead was upset at himself for not noticing that Betty wanted to go to the dance.

“That’s what I thought. It’s why I told you even though she didn’t want me to. Because I could tell that this is how you would feel.” Veronica stopped walking and looked at Jughead.

“Thanks for telling me Veronica” Jughead said softly. “I can’t believe I didn’t figure it out myself.”

“Don’t beat yourself up, Betty’s a good little actress when she wants to be.”

“You have no idea…” Jughead said

“What do you mean?”

“Betty’s been putting on a brave face since she was little, I think it’s almost more of a habit now then a conscious decision.” Jughead thought about all of the times Betty showed up to school with a smile on her face, only to tell them later that something awful was going on at her home.

“Let’s make a pact, Jughead Jones the Third.” Veronica said, looking at him seriously.

“A pact about what?”

“A pact that we will make sure that Betty starts putting herself first and make sure that she shares her feelings instead of burying them inside.”

“Deal” Jughead said, sticking out his hand. Veronica took it and shook it firmly with a nod of her head.

“Good.” They dropped hands continued their way to Pop’s

“You know you are already helping her.” Jughead said after a few moments. “Her mom hates that she is cheerleading, but she is standing her ground, I think partly because of your influence.”

“Good for her” Veronica said with a happy smile.

“Veronica?” Jughead said hesitantly

“Yes?”

“How do I ask Betty to the dance?” Jughead felt slightly embarrassed, he had never asked a girl to a dance. He had no idea how to go about doing it and didn’t want to mess it up. Betty was too important.

“Oh have you come to the right place little Jug.” Veronica said with a laugh.

“Betty?” Jughead asked softly later that night. The movie had ended and Veronica and Archie had made their exits. Jughead and Betty had remained cuddled on the couch in comfortable silence for a while after.

“Hmm?” She murmured, sinking further into his arms.

“I always thought that one thing we were really good at was being honest with each other, even when it was hard.” Betty shifted, sitting up so that she could look at him.

“Is this about what Veronica told you?” Betty guessed. Jughead moved so he was also sitting up and looked at her intently.

“Why didn’t you tell me that you wanted to go to the dance?”

“Because I didn’t want to force you into doing something that you didn’t wanted to do.”

But you didn’t even give me a chance Betts” Jughead pointed out

“Because if I told you that I wanted to go then you would feel like you had to take me. So I figured that if you really wanted to go then you would ask me.”

“I tried, but you said you were going with Kevin”
“That was you asking?” Betty asked with a raised eyebrow

“That was me trying to see if you wanted to go…” Jughead leaned forward and took her hands. “Look Betts, I really don’t care what we are doing, as long as we are together.  You telling me that you want to do something is not forcing me into anything. Seeing you smile and making you happy is what gives me happiness. And if my amazing girlfriend wants to go to a dance, then I’m going to take her to that dance.”

“You really want to get dressed up and listen to loud pop music and be surrounded by sweaty teenagers all night long?”

“No, I want to see you in a pretty dress and I want to hold you close as we dance and I want to see the jealous looks of every other guy in the room because they aren’t the ones with you.”

“You really want to go to the dance?” Betty reached up and brushed her hand along his cheek, her eyes filled with hope.

“I really want to go to the dance.” Jughead said, leaning down to kiss her softly. “Betty Cooper, will you go to the dance with me?” He whispered against her lips. He felt her smile and his stomach did a little flip.

“I would love to Juggie.” She said and pressed her lips back against his.

“Jughead relax, you look great” Archie said, grinning at him. Jughead’s hands dropped from where they had been straightening his bowtie.

“I feel ridiculous.” He said, tucking his shirt in for the tenth time.

“Jug, stop.” Archie said and knocked on Veronica’s apartment door.  Veronica swung the door open almost immediately. She was in a dark strapless dress.
“Hey boys”

“Wow…” Archie’s jaw was practically on the ground. “Ronnie you look amazing.”

“Thanks Archiekins, you are looking pretty dapper yourself. You two Jughead.” Veronica said giving him a wink. She stepped aside so that Jughead could look past her and see Betty. Jughead felt his heart skip a beat. She was wearing a gorgeous pink dress and her hair was down instead of up in its usual tight ponytail. Betty came up next to Veronica and looked Jughead up and down.

“God, my girlfriend is beautiful” Jughead said, causing the group to chuckle and Betty to blush. She came up to him and kissed him on the cheek.

“And my boyfriend is handsome.”

“Alright, you guys are making me sick with all of this sweetness. Let’s go” Veronica took Archie’s hand and pulled him away. Jughead laughed and offered Betty his arm. She hooked her in his and they headed off to the dance.

Jughead held Betty close as they swayed to the music. His fingers brushed her side where there was a piece of her dress cut away. His thumb ran along her bare skin. Betty sighed and leaned her head against his chest.

“Thanks for taking me Juggie” She mumbled against him.
