Baltic nations taking their s/o on a first date? c:

  • He’s already stalked all of your social media accounts for months now, so he knows exactly where you love to hang out and what kinds of activities you regularly participate in. Expect to be taken to your favorite coffee shop, or to the sequel of your favorite movie, or something not too expensive but still altogether caring.
  • He’d prefer some place quiet but urban. He already doesn’t like crowds, and  doesn’t want to share you with too many strangers. If you love dancing at the club, Eesti’s probably not gonna take you there. A restaurant? Much more likely. A bookstore, and then your place for some video games? God, he’s ready to marry you already!
  • Estonia’s already enamored with you by the time he has the courage to ask you out, so don’t think he’s against putting an arm around your waist, or kissing you good night. Even if you didn’t know him too well beforehand, you already belong to him and subtle PDA will warn off other potential suitors.
  • He’s not a white knight, but he’s hardly crass. He’ll hold a door open for you, pay the check, and compliment you in a charming manner but do not expect him to take you across the country for a romantic getaway right off the bat, or to buy out an entire restaurant. He doesn’t want to feel too pushy or pretentious, after all.
  • He will, however, hunt you down for a second date. Make sure to make solid plans before leaving that first night – otherwise, he’ll show up on your door the next day off work you have, and he’ll carry you away!

  • If Estonia is hesitant to take you out in public, Latvia is even more so. He knows he’s not much to look at himself, so taking you, a gorgeous angel, out amongst dangerous gorgeous men…
  • So yes, he’d much rather take you out to some hidden area; a picnic on a hillside or the beach, or a minigolf trip, or a rented-out winery. If you’re the one who asks him out, he’ll do whatever it takes to make sure you’re both alone: he’ll ask that it’s a drive-in movie, maybe? Or he’ll reserve a room at a club for you both?
  • Latvia’s much more likely to ask you out at the start of your friendship, before he really knows you that well. Thus, he’s going to ask you a lot of questions about yourself, your family, your hobbies, etc., and he’ll try to deflect any questions you ask about him.
  • He’s hesitant to make any big moves that might scare you off, and he won’t risk anything like a first kiss on the first date. But he’s definitely grabbing your hand at some point, and holding it for a good while!
  • Latvia’s a bit too shy to be persistent, but that doesn’t mean he won’t try. Even if you outright decline a second date, he’ll follow you on tumblr and Facebook and pester you until you give in.

  • Lithuania’s the only Baltic who’s okay with a date in a public area. In fact, he’d love to take you to an ice-skating rink or an aquarium, somewhere where he has the excuse to grab your hand – to hold you steady, or to pull your attention to some cool animal, or to ward off some pernicious flirt, it doesn’t matter to him: as long as you’re in contact, everything is perfect.
  • This doesn’t mean he wouldn’t enjoy somewhere quieter, if you’d prefer; the corner of a small coffee shop would be perfect, especially when he brings strategy board games to show off his military prowess.
  • Lithuania doesn’t realize how absolutely wonderful and tantalizing and irresistible you are until you’re already good friends, and that’s where he decides he has to claim you as his ask you out. So he already knows a lot about you, and isn’t afraid to tease you on all of your quirks. Feel free to fire back at him!
  • He’s a gentleman, so as much as he wants to tap that ass, he won’t (That is, unless you want to head home with him afterwards?). He might hold you in his arms if you’re cold. He will, however, hold your hand, kiss your cheeks, and give you a very, very long hug or two at the end.  Though, when he finally heads home, exhausted and content, he’ll definitely dream of going further.
  • A second date is mandatory. You don’t get to say no. He’s already got your schedule memorized, he’s penned in the time and place of your next date. See you then, make sure to dress appropriately!

I woke up in my own bed yesterday. My own bed in my own room. But I’ve been keeping my backpack. Keeping my gun close. I’ve been afraid to get my hopes up thinking we can actually stay here. The thing is, I’ve been starting to get afraid that it’s easier just to be afraid. But this morning Daddy said something: if you don’t have hope, what’s the point of living? — Beth Greene, season 4

There’s nothing you can do about the blush that settles in your cheeks as Carmilla’s dark eyes meet yours. There’s that gleam in them again, like she knows a secret she’s not willing to share. She sets down her drink on your coffee table and her lips curve up in a subtle smirk, and suddenly you want nothing more than to surge forward and kiss the smirk away.
