Also, I understand why you may prefer elements of the originals to the sequel trilogy, but to say that the sequels were made for money and the originals weren't ... is just wrong. Every single big budget film is about money. Especially something that was as huge and marketable as Star Wars. A contributing factor to Empire being so good was because it had the biggest budget and could go to more locations. Yes there was passion but money was the reason they were made.
Of course they’re all made for money! Do I work for passion, or for money? I work with what I’m passionate about, but if I don’t get any money out of it I won’t care. But the people behind movies have different reasonings. Did the people who made the first Pirate of the Caribbean know it would be that big and there would be 4 more movies that would ruin that universe? Same applies to every other saga. The first installments mean something. When it goes on and on… it loses its power and significance. That’s my POV. I’ve said it before tho: I don’t hate the sequels. I just don’t think they’re as good as the originals. This is my personal opinion, and that’s it. I’m not stating facts, only my opinion. Also, when did I say the originals weren’t made for money…?
