What do you think of voicing an audiobook? How much do you think you would charge? And if there were to be additional voices for dialogue and also sound FXs, how much do you think it would be then? Not only for yourself but also an overall quote for the amount of hard work into a 'production' like that. I would love to pay a cast of VAs to voice books full with FXs too, and for my book or a favorite read of mine, I'd pay heavily for all the hard work, plus tip. I'd just like to save for it!!
That would run pretty expensive, but if you want to save, look at at least $200 for each finished hour of audio. Here’s a whole article detailing. That’s around 9k words per hour. If it’s fully voiced, you’ll need to produce a script version to send out, price by time it takes each voice actor to do their parts, hire a full-on sound producer probably, and it could get pretty complicated!
I also wouldn’t recommend doing this for just books you like. There are complicated commercial rights issues with this!
