Creepy Pasta: Rick and Morty Ghost Stories

I just want to start off by saying if you want an answer at the end, prepare to be disappointed. There just isn’t one.

I was a big fan of Rick and Morty. I loved the show and its characters. So, when my copy of the season 1 DVD arrived at my door a few days ago, I was ecstatic. I spent the whole day marathoning the whole season with the commentary on. The creators and writers’ banters and jokes were hilarious and informative at the same time.

Then, the night came. I was just about to turn off the DVD when I saw that it contained a behind-the-scenes featurette. I decided to watch it, expecting more of what I’ve got from the commentaries. What I got was something darker.

The featurette started off like a typical DVD extra, with the creators talking about how they make the show and stuff. I was enjoying it, when suddenly, a title card introduced a new segment: Ghost Stories. It took me by surprise.

The segment begins with Justin Roiland, the show’s co-creator, looking at the camera, and explaining that their studio is, in his words, “haunted as fuck.”

I was shocked. I didn’t really believe in ghosts, so I thought that maybe this was just a gag, or a publicity stunt. The segment continues with Justin saying that he and Dan Harmon saw a ghost once in the studio, and he claimed that it’s a true story.

I had to pause the video. A true story? How can this be? Did they really saw a ghost? Ghosts make no sense, and yet here they are claiming that they actually saw a real-life ghost. I took a deep breath, braced myself for whatever comes next, and pressed play. What I saw next almost gave me a heart attack.

It was a footage of a ghost. An actual ghost. Almost transparent, the ghost was holding a red party cup. And, with a voice that will haunt me for years to come, it shouts “This place is haunted as fuck, motherfucker!”

I was so scared I couldn’t scream. Tears came out of my eyes. I couldn’t even move my body. I just sat there while the ghost continued screaming on my TV. “Get ready to watch out, ‘cause I’m a motherfucking ghoooooooooost!”

I didn’t remember what happened next. I must have blocked the memory out of my mind. All I know is I haven’t touched that Rick and Morty DVD since that fateful night.
