You Idiot (For NaLu Week)

You Idiot!

I don’t really have anything for NaLu week… but I whipped up this and I have this other thing I might upload too.

It’s only slightly AU, I think that the actual army of the fairy tail universe would wear what our soldiers do. Just because for any war it’d be useful.

It was a normal day, she woke up to a lonely bed. Her boyfriend’s fire warmth not swaying across her. She was supposed to be used to it by now but it never did leave her mind.

He has been gone for just over a year and a half. She knew that he was okay, he did write little letters. They were hard to understand but she was just glad to know he was okay.

The king had ever so admired Natsu and his skill. He just begged for him to go, go to war.

She wanted to come, oh she pleaded so hard. Yet, it was an age where women weren’t thought as fit. It made her so angry and it made it more heartbreaking to see him go.

So far, she hadn’t seen him at all since he left. Since of his wild nature, he was basically always in the front lines. She doesn’t know how the heck he writes to her. Yet, it finds a way to her at least once every two weeks.

But even so, it didn’t help the loneliness that she had. She had even been put in the king’s protection for money because she refused to do any other jobs until he came back. He laughed when she told him, but didn’t object.

He set off after a kiss that she knew would be the last for awhile.

But she smiled today, because soon. Oh how soon, he would be back in the next two months. When he told her excitingly, she almost couldn’t hold back tears. Oh, the time drew oh so close.

She got up from her bed and did her normal routine for the morning. Shower, breakfast, clothes, guild.

Really, the guild was all she really spent time at. She made her promise and wanted to follow it completely. She mostly just hung out with whoever was there. Mostly Levy, Erza, and Juvia. They did their best to keep her mind off things and she was always grateful for it.

But really, she spent times at the bar chatting with Mira and just watching as her friends chose jobs off the mission board or somehow wishing to hear that yell of his, calling out at her or Gray.

Today was like that, she watched as Gajeel looked over the jobs. She was so spaced-off she barely realized Mira was talking to her.

“Lucy.” Mira said poking her shoulder. She did a little gasp and turned.

“Oh, sorry Mira. I was thinking.” Lucy said.

“About Natsu?” She asked.

Lucy sighed, giving a slight nod. Mira then decided to change the subject.

“So, Lucy I love your shirt where’d you get it?” She asked.

“Hm?” Which shirt was she wearing? As she bent over to get a look she felt something blow against her ear.

Her reaction was an immediate squeak as she turned around her seat looking around to see who was near, but there was no one.

“Something wrong Lucy?” Mira asked.

“I thought I felt something tickle my ear.” She said.

“Really? I don’t see anything.” Mira said, Lucy shrugged.

“Maybe it was my imagination.” She said. “I got this from the extra money the king is giving me.”

“The king?” Mira asked.

“Yeah, since the King loves Natsu as a solider so much that he pays extra of my rent.” She said sadly.

“So you really haven’t gone on a single job since he left?” She asked.

“Yeah, I mean, I love do jobs. But they aren’t the same without Natsu. Happy has gone on a couple with Wendy and Charla. I guess I just think it won’t be as much as an adventure without him.” She said, Mira suddenly had the biggest smile on her face.

“Then let’s go on a adventure Luce!” She heard. She instantly tensed. No way.

He wasn’t suppose to be back for another two months! She had to be hearing things. But she couldn’t. She couldn’t help the shaking of her body as she turned around.

There he was.

Standing there, perfectly fine with that smirk on his face that she either wanted to punch or kiss with all her might.

“And I got just the job.” He said, he suddenly got down on one knee and she couldn’t help but gasp as she started tearing up.

“Aw man Luce. You know that when you cry I lose my cool!” He said with a smile, “I’m trying to propose to you you know.”

“Natsu…” She said.

“So…” He pulled out a box with a ring, “Will ya marry me Luce?” He asked, he was wearing his army outfit still with his green cap that had his pink hair stick out at the ends. She was glad that he didn’t shave it off.

Lucy nodded almost immediately then sudden cheers were thrown all around as he placed the ring on her left ring finger. She then pounced on him into a big hug.

“You idiot!” She cried, “I missed you!” She dug her head over his shoulder so he wouldn’t see her crying face.

Natsu chuckled, “I did too Luce, but I ain’t leaving again, not without my partner.” As he wrapped his arms around her tightly.

“I’m not even gonna let you leave if you try! The king can find a different solider.” She said.

“Well… I don’t think he wants me anymore.” He said.

Lucy then sat up, looking straight at Natsu with a hard stare, “Natsu, what did you do?” She asked serious.

“I… may have almost blew up half of the other country.” He said

“You idiot! That’s why you’re home early?” She yelled.

“Well, I had to do something to have them let me off!” He said.

“You idiot! You could’ve waited two months!” She yelled.

“Naw, and neither could you. You know that.” He said with a knowing grin.

She smiled a little bit, “Maybe.” She said.

“Oh really?” He asked bringing her slightly closer.

“Maybe…” She said.

“I guess I have to change your mind Mrs. Soon-to-be-Dragoneel.” He said as he brought his lips to hers.

I hope you liked it!

Well, without buying anything other than the Faerie Wings, I think I have my outfit ready for our Fairies for our Future Jazzercise (fundraising) class on Wednesday. The only other thing I guess I could add would be some more frilly fabric on one wrist or something like that. It’s not actually a tutu, but I think lacy stuff seems like something a good Fairie would wear, what do you think? And it’s still stretchy and cool enough to actually workout in.
