what everyone else is doing

You only truly fail when you stop trying. You have picked yourself up from some of the worst the universe has to offer and screamed defiantly, "I'm still here!" even if it was but a hoarse whisper through bloodied lips.

I know…. Thank you. I do know that.

But every small failure, even though I pick myself up, makes me seen as one more and more. Allies are harder and harder to come by, and they betray me before we even get anything done. I used to have political capital. Failure breeds failure, and potential allies don’t care how resilient I am in the face of catastrophe if I can’t guarantee no catastrophes.

Perhaps with Megatron gone, with no one setting me up for failure or dismissing my many successes as trivial, people will see. It’s frustrating. I was Second in Command, and trusted to lead well in his absence, despite how he acted when he returned, but that’s not how people perceive me. I earned those things, yet everyone questions and doubts me.

maya i have my formal soon (australian equivalent to prom) and I kind of want to wear flowers in my hair but i haven't seen anyone else do it. what do you think?

u dont want to be like everyone else!!!! just do u and have fun

I need to rant...

There’s two things in this world that I can’t stand and that’s favoritism and hypocrites. I have experienced both all my life. Both sides of my family put my brother and I last for everything because we are the black sheep. My brother and I are judged for our interests, behavior, and sexual preference. We are the outcasts. We have never been treated with love when we were growing up. Our parents were also black sheep so thus we are. We are ignored, shunned, gossiped about, and have felt unwelcomed at our own family functions. When we make mistakes, everyone knows about it, but when the favorites of the family do something…it’s alright.

Hypocrites are also in my family. Southern Baptist hypocrites so it’s 100 times worse. My parents, brother, and I are the sinners but everyone else in the family do no wrong cause what…they go to church every Sunday? Well I tell you one thing…ya’ll keep walking around with your head in the air like you’re high and mighty, but I assure you…I will knock it back down.

Systems Check and Calibrations

You need to ignore what everyone else is doing and achieving. Your life is about breaking your own limits and outgrowing yourself to live your best life. You are not in competition with anyone else. Plan to outdo your past, not other people.
Aries: Make up your mind. Do what you want to do not what everyone else thinks you should do.
Taurus: Time leaves funny marks on the future. Plans change and go awry. But I hope you’re happy with how it all turned out for you.
Gemini:  You’re growing so much on your own. Even if I can’t be a part of it, I am so happy for you. You’re doing great.
Cancer: Trauma makes you stronger. Wear your scars like fucking battle armor. You’re a god damn hero.
Leo: Nothing will change if you keep sitting silently and letting everything pass you by. Grab opportunity. Scream at the top of your lungs. Make a change.
Virgo:I hope wherever you are, you’ve found some kind of peace with yourself. That the pain you were in while you were is finally calm. That all the storms have passed.
Libra: Build in yourself first. The future doesn’t need to concern right now, focus on getting through the next 24 hours before you think of the next 24 years.
Scorpio: You’ve waged a good war. But clinging to something that’s cutting into your palms isn’t doing anyone any favors. Let go. As hard as it is, Let go.
Sagittarius: We’re about to start the greatest adventure there is in life. I hope you get everything you deserve and it makes up for all the pain in your past.
Capricorn:  Stop trying to destroy what you see in the mirror. There is no prince coming to save you. There is no hero here just you. You can be your own fucking savior.
Aquarius: Don’t be scared to take new risks. Jump. The only chances people regret are the ones they don’t take.
Pisces: Stay steady. Don’t fall of the path you’re so dedicated too just because of the shine in someone else’s eyes.

The best decision I ever made was forcing myself to learn to be happy on my own. Not everyone is meant to settle down and get married, not everyone is built for the ‘traditional’ lifestyle. Give yourself time to learn to be alone, figure out if you actually want a partner or if you’re just checking off boxes on a list that someone else made for your life.

I know society makes it seem like single women, especially older single women, are unhappy. Don’t buy into that narrative. Write your own damn story. Write your story so well that other women look at it and are inspired to write their own stories too.

This is one of the more ambitious opening statements in pop this decade, an ostentatious and essentially verse-less stab at something both immediate and timeless. My colleague Andrew Unterberger already broke down everything that ‘Sign of the Times’ is — defiantly rock, proudly bombastic and impossibly British included. One thing that it isn’t, though, is undercooked, which is perhaps its most important trait of all.

'Sign of the Times’ is: resolute, determined, wholly committed to its messaging and sound, radio trends be damned. Although it wears its influences on its sleeve (RIP, David Bowie), nothing about this single bends toward someone else’s expectations. 'Sign of the Times’ sounds effortless, but to arrive without any incomplete features is an accomplishment in a music industry where pop artists are expected to produce new music at an unsustainable rate and buckle at least in part to what everyone else is doing (while still remaining original, of course). Throw in the fact that Styles was a huge name before releasing a shred of solo music, and the patience and attention to detail of 'Sign of the Times’ is a pretty remarkable feat.

Will 'Sign of the Times’ be a hit? Who knows, but that’s sort of beside the point. Styles has dropped a bonafide piece of art that took months to complete, and did so on his own terms. It’s a subtle win for him, and for his audience. Harry took his time, and got it right.

Patroclus and Achilles in the afterlife

Day one: Literally just 24 hours of achilles hugging patroclus and crying

Day two: Achilles switching between “I’m so sorry Patroclus, I’m so sorry” and “I love you so much, you have no idea how much I love you” and Pat switching between “Shh, it’s ok” and “I know, I love you too”

Day three: Achilles petting Patroclus’ hair and just looking at him

Day four: Talking about the time they spent apart while holding onto each other

Day five: Probably Achilles cries some more

Day six-forever: Forgetting all the bad things that happened and disgusting everyone else in Elysium with how in love they are.

Actual dad David headcannon

Okay but David would probably start buying Max things he knows Max likes, especially after seeing what Max’s parents get him. David wants to let Max know he cares about the kids interests, be it whatever, no matter how silly or strange it might be.

Imagine David buying Max comic books of Max’s favorite super hero or something cause he know’s that’s what Max likes, and holy hell, “the kid deserves more than just a hoodie!” David has probably said on more than one occasion.

( this was a long term game using homebrew rules. Our DM decided to send our party up against a cthulu-esque demi-god. I was a Dwarf fighter known for nis rage and bravado. Bear in mind we played and looted for three weekly sessions over a year.)

DM- A large dark figure rises in front of the party. His very presence chills all of you to the core. What do you do.

Everyone else runs for cover in a mad dash. I grin and the DM laughs.

Me- I charge with my dagger.

DM spends a few minutes going over notes and stats and gives me my dice pool including five d20.

Me- rolls four nat 20s and a 18.

DM- ……

Me-…….

DM- you…just….one shotted…..a fkn DEMIGOD with a bronze dagger….

Me- A dwarf bows to no one.

Aries: Make your own choices. You will never be happy as long as you let everyone else control what you do.
Taurus:  Being a hypocrite never did suit you. Always thought you were better then that. See it from their perspective.
Gemini: Stop looking to the darkness trying to find the light. If you keep focusing on everything you never had, you’ll lose everything you’ve managed to gain.
Cancer:  You survived. Congratulations. You’ve made it this far and there are miles to go. But for now rest and celebrate. You survived.
Leo: Hold your head high. There’s no shame in what you’ve done. You did what you had to do to keep yourself safe. Don’t ever fucking apologize.
Virgo: Maybe try finding some substance in your life besides this. Your past can’t hold all the answers and you cant keep using people like this. It’s not good.
Libra: It’s okay to dream and reminisce of the past. Just don’t let it destroy the kind of future you could have. Don’t let it come back and destroy you.
Scorpio: Take a breathe kid. You’re going no where fast so might as well sit back and learn to wait. Enjoy it while you can.
Sagittarius: Is it all just an act, or are you really doing this well? Are you really managing everything so perfectly? Did the thoughts really go away?
Capricorn:  What’s left to be scared of? You’ve already lost everything. There is nothing left to risk. Go big or go home. Stop being terrified and jump.
Aquarius:Enjoy the music while it plays. Let things run their course and work out how they may. Summers never last forever.
Pisces: Running will only get you so far. I hope you eventually learn that you can always come back home.
