COLTS TE WESLYE SAUNDERS GETS 8-GAME SUSPENSION FOR PED VIOLATION - Indianapolis Colts tight end Weslye Saunders has been suspended by the league for eight games without pay after violating the league’s policy on performance-enhancing substances.
It’s unknown what substance Saunders was suspended for. He can attend training camp and play in preseason games, but he won’t be able to play in any regular season games or report to the teams’ training facility until Nov. 4.
Saunders’ suspension is eight games because it’s his second violation of the league’s PED policy. The 24-year-old was also suspended for the first four games of the 2012 season. A third violation would result in a 12-month suspension.
In 2012, Saunders played in nine games, starting four, and caught two passes for 15 yards.
Saunders is the second Colts player to be suspended this offseason for violating the league’s PED policy. In June wide receiver LaVon Brazill was suspended four games. (Photo: Gregory Shamus/Getty Images)
