“Is that all?” he asked, his eyebrows furrowed to his forehead as he analyzed the man in front of him. If Yoongi was nervous, no one could tell. His relaxed posture  while looking around made it seem like he was doing Namjoon a favor, not the other way around. “You’ve been gone for weeks and ‘doing things’ is really the only piece of explanation you give as you ask me for a spot on this race?”

“That’s the only explanation you need.” he shrugged, his eyes never failing to portrait his confidence. “Am I in or not?”

Namjoon had all the reasons in the world to be suspicious but he was not dumb. Min Yoongi collected several ups and downs and had a difficult personality himself but if he said he could race, the first place had already a banner with his name. He was the best pilot in town and people still couldn’t understand why other people would want to compete with him knowing they didn’t stand a chance - that’s how good he was.

-cha chas in- i’ve lost so many followers again lmao -cha chas out-

today aedan came into starbucks with me for an order to go. this starbucks is in a hotel with a gym and spa sorta dealio. we walk in and immediately the guy at reception slowly walks out from behind the desk but doesn’t say anything, just slowly follows us. we walk up to the starbucks counter, at least 15 to 20 meters into the building, and he comes up in front of us and turns to my mother and asks if aedan is a “helper”.
#1 why not talk to me? i have the dog. i’m going to assume he thought i was incapable of speaking for myself like so many able bodied people do to people with disabilities
#2 someone else earlier in the day asked if aedan was a helper too….i’ve never heard this phrase before wtf

on another note, a man who was waiting for his coffee ignored the LARGE STOP NO TALK NO TOUCH NO EYE CONTACT sign and came over and offered aedan his hand to sniff, which aedan quickly turned his head away from. i was sorta surprised but very proud, he got a bunch of treats for that

This forest had strong mystical pressure around it. The closer to the center one got, the more they felt it. Without a well trained and focused mind, one would easily be lost in the fog and trees forever. This particular forest was deep within the mountains that bordered Norway and Russia. Locals had rumors of hooded spirit that haunts the forest and steals the lives of those who cross him.

Can a little loving kindness improve our mental health?

Mindfulness - an ancient Buddhist approach to meditation - is attracting increasing attention in the 21st century as a non-invasive treatment for stress and depression. But can it improve mental wellbeing in young people?

Using electroencephalography (EEG) – a non-invasive method of recording electrical activity in the brain along the scalp - Dr Ahmed Mohammed, from the School of Psychology at The University of Nottingham Malaysia Campus (UNMC) is attempting to find out if loving kindness meditation can improve the wellbeing and mental health of young people.

Dr Mohammed said: “Mindfulness is free cost effective and non-invasive. The aim is to discover if mindfulness compared with active relaxation can improve the subjective wellbeing and brain measures in health young adolescents who have never been exposed to mindfulness training.”

After completing a psychological questionnaire, 30 students from UNMC, The University of Nottingham in the UK and local Malaysians, take part in a two week mindfulness intervention to assess the impact on their subjective wellbeing, happiness, their sense of gratitude as well as hopefulness.

The mindfulness training being used in this research focusses on being friendly towards yourself and towards others. The research, funded by the Faculty of Science at UNMC will take six months to complete. The aim is to enhance the health of the young adolescent brain.

Dr Mohammed said: “I have always been interested in how psychology in general and neuroscience in particular can promote wellbeing in young adults and young adolescents and contribute to the betterment of society as a whole.”

Training Your Body Strengthens Your Mind As Well

I’m the one who came up with our entire training regime. The main part of it is circuit training. We don’t do a single endurance exercise. Our training sessions are long to begin with, so that’s the endurance training for our bodies. If we do too much endurance training, we lose a lot of mass and we won’t be able to last throughout our shows.

semi-psychological meta-thoughts about “The Kiss”

Dear tumblr Society of Magicians, there’s something on my mind that I would like to talk about.

I noticed that quite a lot of you are interested in feminism, so I would very much like to hear your opinions on this.

It’s this scene:

(hah, I got your attention now :-P )

How do I feel about this scene?

I love if. Because I love these two characters, and I love how Jonathan succeeds in rescueing Arabella…after all, it is his fault that she got trapped there.

I love them as a couple, because, as far as regencies go, Arabella and Jonathan are quite equal. They support each other and they balance each other’s character flaws…honestly, if Arabella hadn’t been around, Jonathan would probably already have transformed himself into a bumblebee just because he wanted to try out that funny spell scribbled in that old book.

If I’m honest with myself, I also love it because I am utter Bertie Carvel trash and my crush on Jonathan Strange is so enormous that I sometimes shake my head at myself. I guess I put myself in Arabella’s position subconsciously here.

So, these are my feelings. I enjoy this scene very much.

At that moment, my rational analyzing mind (well trained during 6 years of Literature major) comes knocking and says: Are you allowed to enjoy this so much? It’s TRUE LOVE’S KISS! Literally! I thought you consider yourself a feminist? How can you allow yourself to enjoy this trope so much? I thought you despised damsels in distress?

The truth is, I do enjoy this scene. But I also feel a little guilty about that.

What are your opinions on this?
