oh well i guess it’s okay to make “beard” comments as long as they’re jokes then thanks for clarifying it

never mind the fact that by their very nature the concept of “beard” was created as a protection against homophobia and the lack of safety of lgbtq is no laughing matter as there are hundreds of thousands who die every year because of it and calling someone a beard is a disgusting way of outing the person they’re with without their consent but it’s just fiction and sharon carter is a bitch and getting in the way of steve being bisexual bc it only counts if he’s bisexual for bucky so i guess THEN it’s totally justified

  • Izuminokami: Oh, do me a favor, peel this apple for me, please.
  • Yasusada: No, no, I’m not gonna peel an apple for you.
  • Izuminokami: But Horikawa always does it for me.
  • Yasusada: Why does Horikawa peel your apples for you?
  • Izuminokami: He doesn’t like for me to eat the apples with the skin on it, he says the skin’s loaded with toxins.
  • Yasusada: Okay, well, good news - Horikawa’s not here.
  • Izuminokami: I know he’s not here and that’s why I need you to do it for me. PLEASE, PLEASE.
  • Yasusada: Oh Jesus, just eat it with the skin on it.
  • Izuminokami: I do not LIKE IT with the skin, Yasu. I’m not ALLOWED to eat it with the skin, I’m not ALLOWED!
  • Yasusada: OH MY GOD, all right. If you just shut up, I will peel the apple for you the way Kunihiro likes you to eat it! Give it to me, give it to me! I’ll do it the way Kunihiro insists, okay?

How do you get over the apple cider vinegar taste? I tried it yesterday and I found it so disgusting that I couldn't finish it. I squeezed a load of lemon juice into it as well to help but it didn't. Any tips? You're blog is dope btw

did you mix it with water? i know its nasty i just drink it bc i know its good for you haha. thank you!!!

anonymous asked:

why do a lot of people think kaisoo aren't dating?

uhhh well this is a loaded question and there’s lots of reasons I have witnessed over and over that I could write a novel about But

one reason is girls having real feelings for ks or ji and hating the idea of them not being straight lmao. like today I was just hearing from skye @kaisoo-is4walls about her friend who had /real feelings/ for ji and was so emo about kxk. and we all know skye didn’t suspect kd was real until after that so she was trying to talk abt it w her friend who got extremely angry, esp about the jagi moment and even freaked out about s*kai moments lmao. so the thought that ji might not be straight really scared her.

anonymous asked:

just so you know, in my fanfiction you are doing super well..a little depressed from the ptsd but you're having loads of sex and you're recovering slowly

Sounds a lot like what I had in mind for myself before Gansa fucked it up for me.

Honestly? Probably the most laughable thing to me about Fyre Festival is that there’s been so many reports of thievery and stolen wallets, clothes, etc when it’s literally been like 24 hours and these people clearly are well off, some dare I say loaded. They all can shell upwards of $12,000 to the tune and promise of rentable yachts and beach yoga but the minute they’re in mildly inconvenient straights they all turn on eachother and start nabbing up whatever’s unsecured even though they’re RICH and if that doesn’t say something about the ultimate nature of the bourgeoisie then I don’t know what does

You Know What I Love About Boku No Hero Academia?
  • this show fills me with so much goddamn motivation it’s insane
  • i’ve never been so emotionally invested so fast – i was crying in the first damned episode, and then right afterwards when all might told deku that he, too, can be a hero. i barely knew deku, but it got me so much.
  • the simplistic art style makes me want to squish deku’s cheeks also it’s just such a cute soft style which allows for dynamic and explosive action
  • these characters have their own goddamned goals, and you can bet they’re gonna damned do whatever it takes to reach them
  • amazing kickass poignant soundtrack by Yuki Hayashi, who’s also done the Haikyuu!! soundtrack
  • all the girls are Best Girls
  • what a faithful adaptation ohmygoodness – especially the action scenes, Umakoshi (the character designer) keeps it pretty much the damned same as it is in the manga
  • kudos to Nobuhiko Okamoto for destroying his vocal cords voicing Blasty McSplode he’s so invested in his character i’m just blown away
  • every single character (except Mineta ohgod but i’m holding out for him he does have the potential) is so lovable you’re gonna bet you’ve adopted all these kids sooner or later
  • and they’re all so unique?? not just their Quirks, but their personalities, their designs … no one feels like a knockoff copy of another, the whole thing feels very dynamic and real
  • KEEP WALKING FORWARD, NO MATTER HOW TATTERED YOU BECOME
  • hello yes we have anime parents here who are involved in their kids’ lives
  • minimal fanservice that’s honestly mostly just a gag??? bless
  • does not focus exclusively on deku; while it is his story, other characters are given a fair amount of screentime as well, which adds to the dynamics as well as room for loads of character interactions and hence development
  • Bakugou Katsuki
  • i’m so happy for Horikoshi he must be living his dream with such amazing people bringing his work to life (like Umakoshi and Yutapon to name a few)
  • villains who aren’t about petty stuff like revenge and world domination but who think society itself, and hence the system, needs to be changed in order to expose how fragile the justice system really is
  • no deus ex machinas here folks it’s all about what you can do and if you can’t do it you’re gonna pay the price (well i mean you could argue about deku vs shinsou but shhh)
  • all these characters are so vibrant and exploding with personality it’s like locking yourself in an ice cream parlor and going insane
  • females don’t take the back seat
  • you can do anything if you let yourself, if you believe in yourself, if it’s what you want with all your heart and soul, you can do it and you will do it
  • older characters like coaches and teachers and even the pro heroes aren’t just figures of respect, the show actually makes fun of them and lowers them down to the same level as the kids so we can actually connect with them instead of them being these daunting, stiff-upper lip characters
  • work hard, shed tears and sweat and blood and you can literally be anything you want to be, there is no limit to what you can achieve
  • class 1-A is a goddamned family you better bet they’re gonna show up at each other’s weddings
  • bless this series what a gem
  • bless Horikoshi what a gem thank you so much for creating this series
  • for telling me that I can do anything
  • and for filling me with such raw hope and inspiration that my chest literally aches with it
  • thank you
  • KEEP WALKING FORWARD
  • NO MATTER HOW TATTERED YOU BECOME

first shot of my bujo:)

story time: so the other day, i found a giant spider in my room, and i, being absolutely terrified of spiders, went to my mom to get her to kill it. however, she just told me to kill it myself, so i grabbed a golf club and spent 30 mins trying to will myself into killing the spider, but to no success. when my mom saw me on the verge of tears 30 mins later, she let out the biggest sigh i’ve ever heard and had the most disappointed look as she proceeded to kill the spider for me 😅 gotta love my mom LOL

p.s. thank you to everyone who wished me well after my last post! i’m feeling loads better now:) you guys are all so so sweet i can’t 💞

Chainmail myths and the foibles of “historical testing”,

Chainmail armor is perhaps the most misunderstood type of armor in history, often viewed by people who don’t know much about ancient or medieval weapons as a low quality lesser form of armor. Unfortunately nothing could be further from the truth, and the reputation of chainmail has suffered as a result. Typically when one thinks of chainmail one thinks of Europe and the Middle Ages. In fact, chainmail has been used all over the world by many cultures and dates to ancient times, including civilizations such as the Ancient Celts (who possibly invented mail), Ancient Rome,Medieval Europe, the Middle East, North Africa, India, Southeast Asia, China, and Japan.  Chainmail was even used by warriors in remote areas well into the 19th and early 20th century. Today chainmail is still in use, used by butchers and meatpackers to protect from accidental cuts, used in stab resistant vests employed by law enforcement, and even used by divers to protect against shark bites.

There are many reasons why chainmail is looked down upon by modern peoples uneducated on the effectiveness of ancient or medieval armor.  Contributors include movies and video games.  One common source which I feel contributes the most to the chainmail myth is modern “historical testing” of chainmail armor, often on TV shows such as on the History Channel, Discovery Channel, or the many Youtube videos on the subject.  Typically what occurs in this testing is that a so called historian or expert will test a piece of replica chainmail against replica weapons.  To the amazement of the viewer, the mail is sliced to smithereens with a sword, skewered like a kabob with spears, and pierced to death with arrows.  To the uneducated viewer, it would seem that chainmail was a completely useless type of armor, and even the most reputable of sources makes similar claims, that chainmail was deficient and was not effective for protection.  I can think of no better example than this clip from a History Channel show, the testing of which begins around 2:50.

There is a problem with the idea that chainmail was ineffective, and even basic reasoning and logic should expose that problem.  After all, if chainmail was so ineffective, why did anyone bother to wear it into combat? Why did knights, nobles, and soldiers spend fortunes on chainmail when it was almost useless?  Why would cultures across the world spanning thousands of years bother using it if it didn’t do its job of offering bodily protection?

The truth of the matter is that in reality, chainmail was exceedingly effective for its purpose, and in the cultures that it was used, in the time periods it was used, it was often among the best if not the very best option available. A warrior who went into battle wearing mail had a much greater advantage over opponents with lesser armor or no armor at all. So why do these “historical tests” often show it as being ineffective? First, it must be known that there are two basic types of historical chainmail, butted and riveted. There is a third type, welded mail, but this is mostly a modern creation that wasn’t used in history. Butted chainmail is a constructed out of wire bent into rings with the ends touching. The wire ends are abutting hence the name “butted” mail. There’s nothing fastening the two ends together, thus butted mail tends to be very weak and easy to damage.

The other common type is riveted chainmail. Riveted mail consists of metal rings that are fastened together with a metal pin or rivet.  As a result, riveted mail is much stronger than butted mail, in fact it’s typically 10 to 15 times stronger. Generally speaking riveted mail also tends to have a denser weave using better quality materials.

Butted chainmail really only has one purpose; as costume armor.  It is not meant to be used as real protective armor, and there are only a few examples throughout history of butted mail being used in combat.  Soldiers, knights, and warriors throughout history almost always used riveted mail due to its strength.  I cannot stress this point enough, butted mail is not real armor.  It is cheap costume armor produced for collecting, LARPing, cosplay, trick or treating, or perhaps ceremonial purposes.  It is not made to protect someone in combat. I should also note that in combat a suit of mail was typically not worn alone, but often worn with a padded jacket such as a gambeson. This not only added extra protection, but prevented chaffing and discomfort.

So in historical tests performed on TV or Youtube, what type of armor is most typically used? Well, whether its ignorance or because the producer bought a cheap piece of armor in order to save a few bucks, more likely than not butted mail will be used.  Thus why such experiments often have terrible results.

Unfortunately there are few tests using actual chainmail armor with riveted links.  However those few that do exist have a totally different story to tell and show just how effective chainmail really is.

In this video a person actually wears a suit of riveted mail while his friend stabs him with a knife.

I would suggest checking out some youtube channels such as skallagrim, the metatron, scholagladiatora, ThegnThrand, knyghterrynt, and shadiversity.  They do a good job dispelling the many myths about ancient and medieval weapons and armor, as well as giving loads of quality historical information.

NESTINBOX: Building on ”Vertical Ground”

In many big cities around the world buildable land is in shortage and commands high prices. At the same time there is a great shortage of housing; the population is constantly increasing, there are problems with finding space for all of us and to buy land and build housing requires a lot of money.
However, we need not necessarily build on the ground, we can learn from the animals. Many animals, including birds, build their nests in trees, under roof tiles or in rock crevices – above the ground. In northern Scandinavia, and other mountainous parts of the world, including in and around the city, there are plenty of cliff walls. Cliff walls would function exceptional well for mounting and attaching small houses if equipped with a load-bearing structure integrated in the frame.

Nestinbox © is a small house made of wood with an integrated steel structure which can be mounted on a cliff wall created by the team of Michel Silverstorm, Elisabetta Gabrielli and Pontus Öhman . The House hangs like a birdhouse, freely in the air, with one side against the cliff, where an indentation in the façade gives way to a footbridge from which one can reach the entrance at the back. In the design process of the small house we have started from the idea of how you usually build a birdhouse: a wooden box at the height, with a simple sloping roof. This is the basic form, which we then modified and developed into a full-fledged home for 1-2 people.
