I remember when you scolded me in Junior High. You said the same thing. It was right after we got crushed in a practice match before the tournament. I figured we were destined for failure in the real tournament. “Even if we’re not confident that we’ll win, even if other tell us we don’t stand a chance, we must never tell ourselves that”. End quote.
I wrote an A//lfon//se x sum//mon/er thing. It’s pretty rough so probably not my best work, the ending might be a little abrupt and I’m worried it might be too apparent I abandoned some ideas, but I wanted to wrap it up and post it tonight because I’m just coming out of a rough writers block and it’s been too long since I posted anything here. So, hope people enjoy it anyways!
3. The French Kiss - The French is considered most popular romantic kiss. A kiss is named ‘French kiss’ when a person’s tongue touches another person’s tongue. This is why it is also known as tongue kissing. This type of kiss is very easy to execute but it may take years to master.
You could feel your heart hammering away in your chest, and you blushed when you realized Rin might be able to feel it too. His hand was resting softly against your neck, fingertips teasing your hairline and the sensitive skin behind your ear.
It didn’t take much coaxing at all to get you to lean in towards him, and for that brief moment where you both paused, his mouth a hair’s breadth away from yours, you could feel your breath catch in your throat. But your breathing started again with a quick intake as Rin’s lips finally met yours. Warm with a feather-light touch, he waited to see how you would respond to his advance. It was only when you slid one hand into his hair and pulled him closer that he let himself get more into the kiss.
He held you close, throwing in small pecks between longer kisses until he slowed down almost to a stop. You thought something might be wrong until you felt his tongue lightly pass over your bottom lip. A small tingle ran up the back of your neck and you swallowed before opening your mouth to him.
Even with the invitation, his exploration was slow, almost shy, as if he was giving you the chance to pull away if you wanted. His shift from delicate to confident and back to delicate almost made you smile, but you weren’t ready to stop just yet. Once again being the bold one, you brought your tongue up to meet his, running a line up the middle. And that was all it took to bring back his more confident side.
In the back of your mind, you wondered if he even realized he kissed like that, but you weren’t about to bring it up to him. After all, it was too cute to risk him trying to change it.
Asking for a kiss and getting it is one thing but her voice is what really makes it so amazing. Jen said they visit each other when in different cities but the tone of her voice kind of said it as well. She said he's the most romantic but I bet she isn't far behind. You remember when Josh said they would have the most intense relationship? He wasn't lying.
@ people who are all like “Bellamy and Clarke have an amazing friendship” like it’s this major drag at the fact that they’re not together:
Idk what to tell you, like I would hope to have an amazing FRIENDSHIP with my significant other too? Like you can be friends with the person you are dating, love or are married to? Like friendship and romantic relationships are not mutually exclusive? Like I would prefer to have a close and incredible friendship with the person I’m with in a romantic sense as well????
What do you think of the arguments circling around that state that Astrid/Hiccup aren't a good match, and that Astrid isn't well developed? Also that Astrid and Heather had more friendship/romantic bonding/more in common than Astrid/Hiccup?
Once upon a time I believed Astrid was a stale, underdeveloped, cardboard action girl. That was back in the day I first saw How to Train Your Dragon and did not look at her in depth. My opinion now is that she is enormously complex and can be seen to be a developed factor even if one only looks at her within one film - say, HTTYD or HTTYD 2.
As far as people saying Hiccstrid isn’t a good match, I personally disagree, but I respect everyone’s opinions regarding Hiccstrid. But as I see it, the opening of How to Train Your Dragon 2 makes it perfectly clear that their relationship does work. They are acting very naturally around each other in a very healthy relationship. It works very well, which is why they are so comfortable around each other, supportive of each other, understanding of each other, capable of keeping each other in check, and able to both joke around and speak seriously with each other. A healthy relationship is the only necessary condition for being a well-matched couple. Astrid and Hiccup may be very different personalities, but that means nothing about whether or not they are ill or well-matched.
And really, Astrid and Hiccup share a lot in common. Astrid is not just “some warrior lady” and Hiccup is not just “some nerd” who are strangely clumped into a couple. Astrid and Hiccup both understand the need to feel validated. They both relate to each other on deep levels. They both are intelligent individuals who love dragons. They can find enjoyment together exploring, competing with one another on dragons, and much, much more.
As far as arguments that say Hiccstrid is not a good match because Astrid is violent towards Hiccup, I do not believe Astrid is abusively rough towards Hiccup once they become a couple. She is violent towards him when she is angry at him in HTTYD before she really falls in love… and that is the last time what she does is unjustly rough. That is all I want to say on the matter here.
As far as if Heather and Astrid have more bonding time than Astrid and Hiccup, it depends what you are talking about: just Race to the Edge, or the franchise as a whole? The franchise as a whole shows Astrid and Hiccup in a far more developed, deep, and wholesome relationship than Heatstrid. And while Astrid and Heather have much in common, that does not negate how Hiccstrid can relate and bond. Now as far as RTTE on its own is concerned with Heatstrid and Hiccstrid representation, we have 75% of the episodes unaired, and to say that Heatstrid is shown more than Hiccstrid is a premature, jump-the-gun assessment. Race to the Edge has much more in store for us.
Heather and Astrid do definitely bond (and I love it). They do have reasons to connect. And that can build into a deep friendship… over time. They have not had that extensive time yet, but Hiccup and Astrid have. What we see are small blips of time within Race to the Edge; Hiccup and Astrid have had a lot more bonding time and personal experiences together with which to relate and draw close. Theirs is the more stable, the more secure, the more enduring, and the more deep relationship.
But then it took him a while to notice you.
I can make him apologize.
I make him stammer.
He asks me for body parts.
He has seen my body parts... And paid enough attention to know my measurements.
He kissed me, on the cheek, twice.
Well, I believe that a few moments after that first one, he ran off to check my Christmas present and locked himself in a room when he thought I was dead. The second one was him wishing you well on your new boyfriend. That isn't exactly romantic.
Well, I moved on...
So that's why your new boyfriend looks like someone fairly familiar...
HELLO, I HAVE A VERY IMPORTANT QUESTION, I NEED TO CHOOSE A FEW BOOKS TO BUY TOMORROW (NO MORE THAN FOUR) SINCE THE COUNTRY IM TRAVELING TO HAS NO BOOKS IN ANY LANGUAGE THAT I UNDERSTAND DESPITE ME BEING TRILINGUAL. anyway I wondered if you maybe had some good book recommendations? I'm a fan of things like, Harry potter, Narnia, vampire academy, cloud atlas, 1984, Fahrenheit 451, Anna Karenina, and basically anything good that isn't too teenagy, romantic, twilighty, or realistic/contemporary.
Ok WELL I’m a big classics person, so you’re about to get some classics suggestions, here we go:
The Martian Chronicles - if you like Ray Bradbury, this is a really interesting collection of short stories that you will definitely enjoy!
A Handful of Dust - a classic that is easier to read than most modernist novels, it has a really good story/characters/everything, it’s one of my favorites please read
Slaughterhouse Five - I don’t care who you are, you’ll love Vonnegut. Sometimes you can buy a pretty cheap copy of a bunch of Vonnegut novels in one book, usually this one, Cat’s Cradle and Breakfast of Champions are put together, so you can also look for that
The History of Love - the most contemporary book I’ll suggest, it’s an incredibly well written novel that follows the parallel stories of a little girl and an old man in NYC
