Team Flash had been working on ways to save Iris from Savatar for what felt like years. And nothing seemed to be changing the time line the way everyone wanted it to.
You came along a few weeks before the whole thing with Savatar began, and the team took an instant liking to you. Barry became like a brother to you, Caitlyn a sister and Cisco just wouldn’t stop flirting with you. So when your meta human powers were revealed, everyone thought that you had come into their lives at the exact time that they needed you.
Barry has his speed and Cisco can Vibe, whatever that is, but you, you don’t need to touch an object or person to see the future. Being a telepath has some upsides. The gift of sight, was a bit more of a curse.
You could see the future, but only in short time spans, and once you look at a moment you can’t see before and after the event.
Barry wasn’t going to ask you to look and see if their efforts were paying off. Only if you offered. Which you did, but you didn’t think as to what you would be seeing.
“God this is so weird,” you mumble knowing the team can hear you.
“What is?” Cisco asked.
“Seeing you guys here, but hearing you guys there.”
“What do you see (Y/N)?” Barry asked.
I see you talking to Savatar. Wait he just ran off. You’re looking around, I think for Iris or Cisco. Wait he’s back.“
"Does he have Iris?”
Should you tell him that Savatar is now holding you? He didn’t ask if he had anyone, just if he had Iris.
“No. He doesn’t.”
And you snapped out of the future.
Maybe you were wrong to not tell them that Savatar kills you instead, but they had been working so hard on saving Iris you couldn’t ask them to do anymore. That’s final, you’re not going to tell the team that you are going to die.
When the day came for Barry to face Savatar you were ready. You had left them all note saying why you didn’t tell them what you saw. That you were thankful for your time with them and that you care for them a lot, you even left one for Harry.
You were swept out of the lab and now are being held against Savatar’s armor, Barry was in front of you in his Flash suit, eyes wide.
“(Y/N)?” Barry asked with worry evident in his voice.
“You think you can change the time line, that you can save them all. I may not take Iris from you, but I will take one of them. She will do.” Savatar said and pressed his arm against your neck tighter than it was before. It was getting hard to breathe.
And then it wasn’t. Because Savatar dropped you.
Barry and Wally started chasing him around the city, while you were left on the ground. It was then you saw the blood staining the street. Your blood. Savatar didn’t kill you, but he managed to stab you pretty well. If you didn’t get back to STAR labs soon you were going to die from blood loss.
You pulled out your phone and pressed the panic button Cisco put on it.
A few moments later Cisco, HR, and Caitlyn stepped through a portal and carried you into the lab. By that time, you were unconscious.
A few days later everyone had found their letters, but you were still asleep. Cisco wasn’t leaving the med bay, Caitlyn wouldn’t stop checking your vitals every five minutes, Barry couldn’t sleep, Iris blamed herself, and Joe felt like he lost one of his kids, and Julian was just panicking.
Barry was out stopping a petty thief when you began to flat line.
“Bar, get back here! (Y/N) is flat lining!” Cisco yelled into the com unit.
Caitlyn was trying to stabilize you while Julian began CPR. Barry rushed into the room and froze.
He felt like his little sister was dying in front of him.
And then your heart picked up again. It was slow, but it was there, and everyone let out a breath.
You heart only beat for three minutes before you passed. But it was enough for you to get in all their minds and tell them that everything was going to be okay. That you would be fine, and maybe they will meet another you on another earth.
When you passed Julian was holding Caitlyn back as she tried to stabilize you again. Barry crumpled to the ground and cried, Iris and Joe were hugging and Cisco stood frozen, emotionless as he tried to process what just happened.
Fic titlefor zoop bc im trash: "Fairest and Fallen" gud luk
The Fairest and the Fallen (and those who followed)
Judy wanted to be a Knight.
Nick wanted to be left alone.
Neither would really get what they wanted.
Here. Take my messy excuse of a story! I needed some practice between writing practicum and this is what I could come up with! It’s a little… nonsensical. But it’s the cause of sleepless nights, grad school, and a test tomorrow morning that I haven’t nearly studied enough for.
He is a thief, and she is a…
She is what she is. And she tells him, as she waves a sword in his face, that she’s a knight.
“A knight, huh?” He scoffs, and jingles the cuffs she’d ceremoniously slapped onto his wrists. They were rusted and red, and he hoped that whatever that was wasn’t blood but he had a sneaky suspicion-
She breaks him from his reveries. “You’re coming with me.” The daggers at her belt aren’t tied correctly, and they clink together when she turns on her heel. “The King has an order out for you. First knight to bring you back gets the reward.”
“First Knight.” He followed her, falling into step cheerfully. “I don’t think he said First Bunny. Do you get cuteness points or something?”
She spun round, and her sword was back. Held incorrectly, he noted. One swat of his paws and that thing would go flying halfway across the little crushed shell path they were standing on. He smiled, giving his reflection on the blade a little how-do-you-do. “Don’t” she intones, “call me cute.”
“Fine. Adorable. Endearing. Small and fluffy. Doesn’t matter. You’re still all of the above. And Knight hardly qualifies.”
She looks like she wants to cut him down. He doubted she could. But. Still. The look was almost enough. Then, with a haughty little puff of air, she collected herself up. The seashells under her feet rattled when she began to walk again. “Just… let’s go. I don’t have time for this.”
“Two weeks walk to the King’s. You’ve got plenty of time for me, Fluff.”
warnings: Car crash, death, brain problems, hospitals, coma
Zoom taking Barry’s powers had been hard on him. Barry seemed out of it, as if without his speed, he was nothing, and it was driving him mad.
He knew that meta’s would attack even though the Flash couldn’t do anything, and he knew that robberies would continue, and fires, and everything that he tried to stop, would continue, and he couldn’t do anything about it.
Barry had promised you a while ago that the two of you would see a movie together, and he knew he had to keep that promise or he would have to deal with a slightly upset best friend.
“Oh come on Bar, you have to admit that movie was great!” You laughed walking out of the theatre.
“Okay, okay, I guess it was better than the sequel.”
“Sequels always suck. Well, most of them anyway.”
“Cheer up Barry! You’re being a Debbie Downer! Let’s get you some ice cream and make your day better.”
Barry smiled at your bubbliness and pulled you into a hug. That’s one of the reasons he loves having you as a close friend. You always bring out the best in people and you make other people happier, before making yourself happy.
You started walking in the direction of Central City Creamery laughing and talking with Barry, not really watching where you were going when you had to cross the intersection.
You turned and laughed at something Barry had said, and then heard a car horn blaring, then nothing. Not even Barry shouting your name.
Barry had made you laugh and you turned to smile at his joke when he heard the car blare its horn. Before he could pull you out of the way the car hit you.
Your body tumbled over the roof of the car and hit the ground behind it. When Barry got to you, you were already unconscious.
“Oh dear! I’m so sorry,” the man who hit you said running to where Barry was.
“Call an ambulance! Someone call an ambulance!” People were shouting around him.
”No. Not you. Anyone but you.” Barry was trying to get you to wake up.
Someone must have because paramedics pulled Barry away from you and loaded you into the car. They allowed Barry to ride in the back with you, but once at the hospital they told him to wait outside in the lobby.
Cisco and Caitlin arrived moments later, but Barry didn’t recall telling them about the accident.
“I was just going to call you, how did you know about the accident?” Barry asked after explaining what happened.
“Last time she got kidnapped I asked her if I could put a safety tracker in her. It tells me her vitals and her location because she gets injured so much. I saw her vitals drop and then saw her moving here so Caitlin and I got here as fast as we could.” Cisco explained.
“How is she doing?” Caitlin asked.
“I don’t know. She got knocked unconscious before I could get to her. I was so out of it I didn’t even see she was injured. I could have pulled her out of the way but I don’t have my speed and I got distracted because she was laughing.”
“It’s okay Bar. Come here.” Caitlin pulled Barry into a hug as a nurse came and found him.
“Did you arrive with (Y/N) (Y/L/N)?”
“Yes. Is everything okay?”
“So far, yes. There is just some information we are missing and you are one of the people on her contact papers.” The nurse handed Barry a clip board to fill out.
“How is she?”
“The worst of her injuries were on her head. She’s gone through some severe brain damage. We aren’t going to be able to measure it till she wakes up though.”
“But she is going to wake up right?”
“She’s going to need to fight. I’ve never seen someone with this much brain damage survive this long. I’ll tell you when she’s been moved to a room.”
A few hours later the nruse walked the group up to your room.
“I don’t know how to explain this but, she should be up right now. The doctors believe that when she hit her head that she damaged some on the nerve endings and went into a coma. I’m sorry to say that we don’t know when or if she will wake up.”
“Is there anything we can do?”
“Stay with her. Who knows she might be able to hear.”
Over the next few weeks people from Team Flash came and went. Barry regained his speed and Zoom was defeated. But you were still in a coma.
The team was in the cortex after Barry caught a thief, half expecting for Barry to have to run out again to save the day. That’s when they got the call.
“Hello? Yes this is Dr. Snow. What? She’s- what? Okay, thank you.”
“What was that?” Iris asked.
“(Y/N) is awake.”
The team never moved so fast. Barry actually waited for everyone else before getting to the hospital.
They all walked in and saw a nurse rewrapping your arm.
“Thank you,” you whispered to the nurse before she left you alone with your friends.
“(Y/N/N),” Cisco whispered crossing the distance to your bedside. He grabbed your hand and lightly hugged you, careful not to hurt you.
Everyone came to you and gave you hugs, but Barry was lost in his own world.
“Bar? You okay?” You ask drawing him out of his thoughts.
“Yeah. Just thinking. How are you feeling?” he answered shortly.
“I think I’m okay.”
But you weren’t okay. It would take four months for the brain damage to kill you.
No one expected it. The doctors all said you were fine.
Everyone was at Iris and Barry’s new apartment when you began getting dizzy.
“I think I’m gonna call it a night guys. I’m not feeling to well,” you bid your goodbye and hugged Barry telling him you’ll see him the next day at Jitters for your weekly coffee date.
You made it home, and in the door, but one step up the stairs and you fainted.
The cause of death was said to be blood clots in the brain that passed by undetected. Barry was mad that the doctors didn’t see it. Barry was mad that he didn’t see the symptoms. Barry was mad that it wasn’t him who got hit that day.
Most of all Barry was sad. Sad because he lost his closest friend to something he could have prevented. And he blamed himself.
So. I joined a Winteriron server on Discord and asked the lovely people there what scene they would like to see illustrated from my fic Autonomy. The reply was Bucky and Tony watching the stars. I guess I technically failed because they are definitely watching each other, not the stars, but at least I tried.
Well, okay. Bucky is actually looking at HIS star, but I don’t know if that counts. Just look at that lovestruck look on his face. Such a dork.
so I belive that Haggar was the original blue paladin and here’s why.
When Lance and and the others found the blue lion, Haggar knew it has been found, it is not impossible for Haggar to have connection from far, as we know Zarkon had with black lion as well. tough if your thinking why she doesn’t have connection at all after LAnce and others found it, the blue lion would have been just cut the connection. Blue lion is the most pilot accepting from the lions, it wouldn’t surprise me if Lance would just have been better than Haggar.
After blue lion had been found there is a scene when Haggar come to Zarkon talking about blue lions return and that altean energy she felt. Se said “it is time to reclaim what is rightfully ours” She would just have said “yours” if she would been talking about only black lion.
And as smart as Haggar is, it would be a little weird for her to stand beside Zarkon, when he was acting really stupid. She yelled to druids that “Hurry! We need to protect our emperor!” even though she just said how stupid Zarkons actions was.
As well in episode 2, Coran said “you know, the original paladins fought hundreds of battles together, Side by side.“ If Haggar would have been the blue paladin, Zarkon have been her leader much over 10,000 years. What would explain why Haggar is so loyal to Zarkon. AND she’s altean.
WARNINGS: Angst, talk of injuries, buildings falling, and children
You didn’t think that your life would end up this way. No one could have planned for it, and no one could change it. Believe me, Barry has tried.
Barry felt responsible for your injury. He thought that if he had gotten to you faster he would have been able to push you away from the high rise before it began to collapse. But sadly luck was not on his side that day.
You still remember why you ran back inside. You had seen a little girl crouched behind a desk while you were running out a realized that no one else was going back to get her.
A woman had been standing a few feet away looking around and calling out a girls name. Then it clicked.
You fought with yourself but in the end decided that you needed to save the little girl.
Running back inside you spotted the little girl and got her to run over to you as a support beam fell near the desk she had been under.
You began to run to the exit holding her in your arms when you tripped over debris. The girl went flying out of your arms and landed in front of the doors.
Her mom saw her and scooped her up. That made you smile.
You raised yourself up on your arms but looked back and saw that your legs were trapped under a pile of rocks.
Wiggling your legs out wasn’t working so you tried to move your legs, but that backfired.
The rocks shifted and caused the support beam to fall upon your back. You cried out as The Flash ran into the room.
“(Y/N)!” Barry yelled digging you out of the rubble.
But you didn’t get to see Barry run you back to STAR labs because the world around you was nothing but a black abyss.
