Merry (late) Christmas to @haikujitsu!!! I made this comic from this amazing drabble that brought joy into my life. I hope you like it, sorry it’s late! I hope your Christmas was amazing, and I wish you a happy new year!! <3
I once had a line of two customers when I was a cashier, and the first one was paying in dimes and quarters. Not a huge order, just $2.15.
Queue the second customer. She walks up and asks aggressively “Are you new here?”
I reply, taken aback “No ma'am. I’ve been here for about two years.”
“I thought you would have been faster by now,” she snaps back.
Well, I was already having an off-day, so I decided to get a little petty. She slides her card, and immediately I hit ‘Cancel’ on my register. She tries again. I hit 'Cancel’ again. Slide. Cancel. Slide. Cancel.
By the fifth time, she’s turning her card over in her hand and asking “What the HELL is wrong with my card??”
I reach over, taking it from her hand and ask “Have you had this card a long time, ma'am?”
I slide the card through without any problem (obviously), and hand it back politely. “I thought you would have known how to slide it by now.”
Her face sunk, probably realizing but probably not. She left, and I proceeded to tell my manager out of guilt in case the woman complained, and my manager high-fives me but then tells me to NEVER do that again.
i’m at that point where i try to study but i physically can’t bring myself to so i get really stressed and i dont know if i care too much or i dont care at all but it makes me overwhelmed and all i want to do is sleep
Nah, but for serious if I was looking for any kids show to introduce a trans female comfortably and with success, I would be looking at Star vs The Forces of Evil. A show which has diverse personalities for all its female characters - Jackie, Janna, Star, Ponyhead, Starfan 13. All of them are different, but they are all still girls. None of these characters are ever told to be more feminine or are called manly. Janna who literally says in the show, “I just hate contributing to gender stereotypes”.
If Marco were to identify as a trans girl in the show, they’d know not to make him any different than he is already. They already know that girls have different interests and looks and attitudes and everything. All they’d have to do is for Marco to say the words, “I don’t think I’m a boy” or “I’m a girl” and you’d believe it because that is what the show is about. Being a girl. Not wanting to fit into the standards people expect of you as a girl. Marco identifying as a girl fits into the show so well and fits into everything it is trying to represent.
so I’ve noticed that there are…a couple of issues with the way ichi is portrayed in fan works (and by that I mean he’s flanderized – which means to take one single trait of a character and to exaggerate it until it consumes their entire character – or he’s given an out-of-character portrayal altogether), and this post is here to address those issues as well as cover ways on how to give him a more accurate portrayal reminiscent of the character in the show!
do note that I am in no way trying to boss anyone around on how to portray ichi – you are free to portray him however you wish, and I totally get it if you want to explore all the different ways to do so. on the other hand, if you do want to heed my advice because you find him particularly hard to figure out (and trust me, he is), by all means, go ahead! this is partly for myself, too, as I’m writing an ichi-centric fic and want to have some sort of reference to guide me through.
Tony Stark is a billionaire, a genius, a playboy, and a secret agent. He is Agent 86 of CONTROL, an agency of the US Government dedicated to protecting freedom and democracy from the machinations of KAOS, the organization of evil. He always manages to save the day, get the job done, even if his methods are a little…unorthodox.
His partner is Agent 99, a terrifying and beautiful redhead who sets his heart fluttering as she takes down enemy agents with laced lipstick and roundhouse kicks. She is devastatingly competent, a better agent than he will ever be, and he would be lost without her.
Led by Chief of CONTROL Nicholas Fury, they battle the forces of evil with brains, ingenuity, and…would you believe 15,000 of the most highly trained men and women poached from the best espionage training academies? How about 1200 of the top graduates from universities around the country? How about 100 skilled agents, including a robot named Jarvis, a recently defected Soviet spy named Natasha Romanoff, a long-suffering Air Force liaison named James Rhodes, and K9 Agent Fang?
