i can low-key imagine him doing that on one of those awkward first dates that your friend’s make you go on bc they wanna play matchmaker. but i feel like Aaron’s so sweet so he hates the fact it’s kinda awkward so he just goes “i can clap with one hand,” and he can’t help but start giggling at himself as he states his weird talent. you’d probs laugh and be like hell yes and then he’d just do that ^^ and you’d start laughing at his ridiculousness and going on to talk about weird talents and trail off into actual conversation, and he’d feel so accomplished bc the awkwardness was now gone bc of his one handed clap.
Jake leaned back in his desk chair, arms folded across his chest as a small pout took up his face. His gaze was cemented to your desk where you and Amy were having a conversation and laughing. His eyes narrowed and he pulled a face at Amy, who looked at him with a knowing smile before turning back to you.
After the first successful coversation over coffee, Jake had tried to do so again for the past week. But everytime he even thought about moving to the kitchen, Amy would rush past him, two coffee cups already in her hands so he couldn’t get to you.
“I hate that woman.” Jake mumbled to himself, nearly having a heart attack when Charles came rolling up in his chair behind him.
“Oh, so the romancing didn’t go too well?” He asked, observing the two ladies chat about something with happy faces. “I mean hey, you’ll find someone eventually, and at least Amy gets a friend.”
Jake swiveled his chair around. “What? No? I was talking about Santiago. I’m still trying to win over (Y/n).” His brows knitted together as he tried to scheme up a plan.
Charles nodded. “Huh, well didn’t you get her number? What did you learn about her?”
Jake sighed, casting his eyes down at his hands. “Not much, just that she’s kind of,” He paused, looking up at you mid laugh while he smiled. “Wonderful.”
Charles moved closer to him. “Really? Tell me about her?” He encouraged, practically bouncing in his seat at the prospect of his best friend having a crush on someone.
Jake turned around so he was facing him. “For one, she’s a total movie nut, we had an intense three hour debate on which Die Hard movie was best. She’s not that into sports but she let me rant about the Mets game.” He went on a small tangent about the fun conversations the two of you had been having over the phone for the past week.
He only broke off when he saw Charles looking at him with a weird expression on his face. “What? Why are you giving me that look. It’s getting creepy.”
Charles just sighed. “Nothing, so are you gonna ask her out?”
“I’d like to but,” Jake lazily pointed to Amy. “Santiago’s been keeping her from me, and I wanted to ask in person.”
Charles ears perked up and he straightened his tie. “My time has come, I got you covered, buddy.”
Jake was about to ask him what he meant but Charles had already abandoned his chair and walked over to the two of you.
Whatever he said to Amy must have worked because in an instant she was grabbing her jacket and was out of the door.
Charles looked back at Jake and gave him a dramatic wink along with a thumbs up before leaving you alone at your desk.
Jake watched you work for a moment, suddenly feeling very warm and nervous now that he no longer had an excuse to not ask you out.
He stood up from his chair, walking over to your desk and cracking his knuckles to try and distract himself before he totally psyched himself out of asking you.
“(Y/n)! Hey! Long time, no see.” Jake said, plopping into the chair beside your desk with a smile.
You looked up from your work and gave him a puzzled smile. “What do you mean? I said hello to you when I saw you this morning.”
Jake laughed nervously. “Haha, yeah. What I actually meant to say was that,” His mind was running a total blank like it usually did around you. “Santiago left pretty suddenly huh? That was super weird.”
You laughed, pulling out your drawyer and revealing a collection of dozens of pencils tied together in different piles. “I know right? Apparently there was some kind of technical situation at her apartment and she had to step out.”
Jake reaching into your drawyer, pulling out one of the wads of pencils and observing them. “How come you have so many of these little dudes? Don’t they all do the same thing.”
You gave him a smile and shook your head. “I guess you could say that, but certain pencils are more sheer while others come off darker, some of them have different variations in line shape,” You noticed he had a confused expression on his face and you chuckled. “And you don’t really care about any of this, do you?”
“No! I think it’s kind of cool,” Jake said, taking one of the pencils out of the stack and twirling it in his hands. “I think anything that comes out of your mouth sounds cool,” He instantly looked up at you. “And that definitely sounded less weird in my head.”
“Thank you regardless,” You said, starting another draft of a criminal sketch for a recent statement a witness gave you. “It’s nice to have a conversation with you in person for a change, I feel like all we really do is text one another.”
Jake perked up, accidentally dropping the pencil onto the ground. “Yeah! I totally agree, which is actually what I wanted to come over and talk to you about,” He picked the pencil off the groun and started fidgeting with it. “I thought since it was Friday, you might wanna come over to my place after work.”
You smudged off a bit of your picture and then smiled at him before taking your pencil back. “I don’t think I’m busy, but yeah I’d love to.”
Jake clapped his hands loudly. “Great! Sounds like a plan.” He was mentally congratulating himself for a successful task completed as he went back to his desk.
“Uh, Jake,” You called back to him.
“I kinda, have to know where you live to go there.”
Jake’s brows shot up. “Oh! Yeah! That would be helpful wouldn’t it?” He dug into his jacket pockets and pulled a slip of paper out of one, grabbing a pen and scribbling his address. “Come around 8:30?”
You took the paper. “Works for me.”
“How’d it go? I could only read your facial expressions but it looked fine.” Charles asked whenever Jake pulled him into the locked room.
Jake scratched the back of his head and resisted the urge to start pacing. “I mean I think? She’s coming around my place later tonight.”
“That’s great!” Charles said with a happy clap of his hands. “You know, if this ends up going well I call dibs on being the Best Man at your wedding.”
Jake shook his head. “Let’s think about the present right now, if we’re being honest here, I have no idea what I’m doing.”
“It’s just a date isn’t it? Just do what you usually do.”
That was when Jake remembered something about your conversation. “I never specified that it was a date.”
“What do you mean?”
“I just asked if she wanted to hang out at my place” Jake said with a groan, placing his hands on his head.
“Oh that’s bad,” Charles said with knit brows. “That’s really bad, I don’t even think I’ve done that.”
“Thanks for the support, Charles, I really appreciate it.”
“It’s okay! It’s a simple fix, just go clarify it to her now!”
Jake swallowed, and his hands suddenly felt very clammy. “Yeah,” He said with a totally unintentional voice crack. “Yeah, I can do that.”
Charles clapped a hand on Jake’s shoulder. “I believe in ya, buddy.” He encouraged before leaving the locker room.
He really did.
But anytime he would come up to you again, he’d open his mouth and nothing would come out.
It was like his body was telling him not to do it, because then you’d probably call off the whole thing.
You didn’t have to stay at the precinct as long as the detectives did on Fridays, so when you started putting on your coat and packing up your things, Jake started to panic.
Amy looked over computer at him. “Hey, you don’t look to great? Something wrong?”
Jake was about to think of some elaborate excuse when you came up to their desks.
“Hey Amy, how’s your apartment?”
“Funny thing, I went over to check and the maintenance guy said everything was totally normal. I tried asking Charles about it but his eyes bugged out and then he ran away.”
You tilted your head. “Weird,” You went to say something to Jake, but you noticed he looked a little sick. “Jake, are you alright? If you’re not feeling well we can just reschedule our date.”
The color instantly returned to his face and he sat up straight in his chair. “Date?”
“Oh, is that not what it is?”
Jake saw the minor disappointment in your eyes and he could have broken out into song. “I would absolutely not mind it being a date.”
You smiled. “Good, after all, you still owe me a portrait. I’ll see you later.” You said with a wink before walking away.
Amy looked over at Jake. “Did you just wheeze?”
Jake, who was watching you walk away with the most dazed look on his face, turned back to Amy. “That is definitely a possibility.”
Prompt: Draco’s girlfriend getting comforted by Draco himself in a really special way. ;)
Requested: Yes. (4 times) Word Count: 1,695. Warning(s): SMUT, fluff. Note: That was so intense for me to write holy crap.

You were bored out of your mind, staring out of the
window in Potions while Slughorn was talking about some other, stupid potion. Every
time you looked at the clock, it’s been seconds since the previous time when
you looked at it. Everything was going so slow at school. It felt like you’ve
never got some spare time, and oh man, boyfriend Draco knew everything about
it. Your relationship wasn’t going so well since you’ve been very busy with
school lately and you guys didn’t do things as much as before. And when you
were together, it was always you complaining about no freedom and him
“Miss Y/N Y/L/N, please head to the
headmaster’s office,” you heard and immediately you looked up from the window.
What? Where was that voice coming from? Neither from the speakers nor from
someone who would be standing at the door.
Your classmates looked at you and even
the teacher looked pretty pissed about the interruption.
“Eh…” you said nervous and started to
pack your things. You slung the backpack on your back and without saying
anything else, you left the classroom, heading to the office
“What the hell did I do?” you groaned at
yourself and just when you wanted to walk along a corridor, two strong arms
grabbed you by your hips and then one hand clapped in front of your mouth.
You screamed and kicked the person
behind you and when you hit his crotch, you heard him hiss and he let go of
you. It was obviously a male because of the amazing strength in the arms.
Reminded you of your boyfriend.
Speaking of the devil.
“Y/N! What the hell!” he laughed and
when you turned around, you saw Draco, standing up because you kicked him to
“Oh my god sorry Draco, I-I didn’t…”
He shook his head and laughed. “Babe,
doesn’t matter,” he said and he wrapped his arms around you.
“What are you doing here? Was it you,
who I heard in class?” you asked, knowing the answer already.
“Yeah,” he said, making you furrow your
eyebrows, “I took some potion I got from the Weasley twins. Otherwise you would
recognize my voice.”
You gasped and hit him in the chest
playfully. “You are such a dork, oh my god.”
“But I am your dork,” he grinned as he
rubbed your back. You smiled and backed away, but not that much so you were
still in his arms.
“What are you doing by the way?” you
asked him and you two started walk towards the Slytherin common room.
“Surprising you, thought you could use
that,” he said as he placed his lips on yours without waiting for a respond.
You reacted immediately and he started to make it rougher by squeezing your
bum. You gasped and he slipped his tongue inside your mouth. You couldn’t help
but smile and hummed by how smooth Draco was.
He let go of you and smirked. “Let’s
continue this, shall we?” he asked and you nodded with a smile, before you were
heading to the common room.
“What’d you mean by continuing exactly?”
you asked, looking oblivious on purpose. Draco smirked and acted like he was
thinking. “I don’t know, how about a dinner in Hogsmeade,” he teased, you
knowing he definitely didn’t mean it. But to tease along, you smiled and hugged
“Great idea, Draco,” you whispered as
you pecked his lips. Confusing flashed across his face, but seeing you getting
“excited” changed his mind to a real dinner. Eventually he groaned and murmured:
“God dammit,” before arriving at his dorm to have a cuddle session with you.
You started getting ready kind of early just so you’d be able to take your time
and relax a little bit too. After your shower, you put on a pair of cute lace
undies and a bralette and sat down on the floor in front of your big mirror,
starting to brush your hair.
While your hair was still drying, Draco
came into your room and saw you there, half naked, as he said: “Oh my god,
babe, you’re so hot.” You kind of brushed it off as just a compliment and not
really thought anything of it, until he came up to you, pushed your wet hair to
the side and started kissing your neck.
“Draco, I’m trying to curl my eyelashes,
can’t you wait until after dinner?” you said and he groaned and walked away
because you rarely ever said no to any kind of sex with him but when you said
“later” you meant it and he wouldn’t try and push it. So he went into your
bathroom and took a shower like it was his own, damn bathroom.
When he came back into your bedroom, he
only wore a towel and you saw very clearly that he had a hard on so you laughed
as he rolled his eyes and went to get dressed. You started drying your hair
with one hand and scrolled through Instagram with the other so you weren’t
really paying any attention to him.
After a couple of minutes your hair was
finally dry, so you turned off the hair dryer and the first thing you heard,
was Draco moaning. Immediately you looked up and saw him watching you in the
mirror with one hand in his boxers, slow movements visible.
“Oh my god, Draco,” you laughed at the
effect you had on him. Getting up from your place on the floor, you climbed on
the bed and straddled him. “Y/N, I need you so bad,” he said quietly. “You look
so hot when you’re pleasuring yourself, how could I say no to you?” you mumbled
against his neck as you started kissing your way down his body.
The kisses were sloppy and slow and just
as you were about to unwrap the towel from his body, he said: ‘No, Y/N,
please, can we skip the teasing?’
You raised one eyebrow, palming him
through his towel before lifting yourself up again and earning a groan from
‘Alright baby boy, let me show what you
got,’ you whispered in his ear as you felt his heart pounding in his chest like
crazy. You thought you heard him whimpering, but as soon as you wanted to do
something else, he flipped you around as a surprised sound left your mouth.
When you looked up to his eyes, they
were dark and full of lust, ready to drill you into the mattress and fuck you
senseless until you were unable to walk to next couple of days. And god, if
that didn’t work on you, then what would?
He slowly took off your freshly new
panties as you slowly unwrapped the towel around his waist. Moment later you
two were totally naked, your bralette was being thrown across the room. Not before
Draco complimented you about how smoking hot you looked in it of course, but he
didn’t feel a little bit sorry about ripping them of your chest.
The tip of his dick was touching your
entrance, his head dipped in the crook of you shoulder, leaving hickeys all
over the place. In one, swift move he entered you, groans and muffled profanities
leaving your mouths as he started to pick up the pace.
‘Draco, oh- oh my god,’ you moaned his
name, which made him go harder like you were encouraging him. You dug your
nails in his back and left scratches every time he pumped in to you. The pain
made him moan even more as he rested his forehead on your forehead, looking at
your eyes so lustfully, finally getting what he wanted.
His pumps started to slow down, him not
entering you fully anymore, so you took this opportunity to toss him on his
back so you could ride him.
‘Y/N, oh,’ he moaned as he grabbed your
hips while you were bouncing up and down his cock, the end hitting your g-spot
every time you hit his hips. Your hand searched for one of his as you entangled
your fingers with his, before you started to circle around him, Draco pushing
his head into the mattress because of the different move you made.
When you started to slow down, Draco sat
up a bit, leaning on his elbows as he pumped with your movements, skin slapping
against each other. ‘Yes, yes, yes,’ you started to chant in moans when he
hit the right angle, him going even faster as you couldn’t keep up with the
pace anymore, tired of bouncing.
‘I’m… almost… there,’ you groaned and
then again, Draco flipped you two over.
‘Me too babe, me too,’ he whispered in a
husky voice as his thumb made circles on your clit, wanting to let you finish
first like the real gentleman he was.
You screamed and tried to muffle it with
screaming into his chest, but it didn’t really work. Seconds after your orgasm,
Draco pulled out of you and came on your stomach, exhaling a deep,
After some while, he collapsed next to
you on your bed as you tried to catch your breath again, because bloody hell,
that was probably the best sex you guys have ever had. And there was nothing to
complain about, it was amazing.
Draco grabbed your hand again, this time
tenderly and soft, like it was made out of glass, as he pulled you close,
pulling the sheets over your two, sweaty naked bodies. ‘That was so great, Y/N,’
he breathed out as he started to play with your hair, your eyelids starting to
get heavy even though it was only 7 pm.
'No diner I guess?’ you whispered as you
felt Draco chuckling heavily.
'This was your desert.’ You giggled
before nuzzling in his chest more, letting your eyes close as you were very
tired all of the sudden.
'Goodnight baby,’ he whispered as you
responded with a sound that was supposed to sound like a yes, but after a
couple of seconds you drifted off to sleep, Draco following minutes later with
his arms secure around your body.
This was so intense, my hands are sweaty, I feel so weird about this but it’s so hot… I JUST WROTE THAT WOAH.
Draco Malfoy doesn’t need a condom, he’s a damn wizard alright.
I listened to Frozen songs while writing this, it was so weird I’m laUGHING.
I was introduced to Mr. Holland and found out where Tom got his jawline from.
Harrison took a selfie and realized he had stickers on his face; since the middle of our last flight.
I called to talk to my mom for a few minutes letting her know I was there. Most of the call was her asking me about the boys we saw and me trying to answer her without seeing super obvious that I was talking about them.
Then Mrs. Frost kept asking about the flight and gushing over the fact that she has her son and honorary daughter home.
And Tom didn’t talk.
I watched him scroll through Instagram, glance at me, and then would scroll through again.
Why was he acting so strange? We had just spend the last half day with each other and now this?
When he got to Mrs. Frost’s home is was even more strange.
As soon we get got there I was greeted by Harry, Sam, and Patrick who they call Paddy.
“Ohh, Tess, Darling!” Tom gushes, finally showing some emotion as he kneels on his lawn, taking her into his arms.
Tessa is a blue Staffy with a short silvery grey coat.
As soon as she squirms from Tom’s arms she wiggles toward Harrison and Harry and Paddy and Mr. Holland and then finally to me.
Her nose is twitching toward the sky as she steps closer to me.
I glance between her brown eyes and Tom’s and he smiling.
“Yeh, go on girl.” Paddy’s small voice comes from beside his eldest brother.
And finally the anxiety began to ease. Because now there’s a dog. And that’s what I’m good at.
“Hey there, cutie!” I kneel on one knee and reach into the side pocket of my backpack to pull out a small brown treat in the shape of a heart.
Tessa’s ears immediately perk up and her timid eyes become excited. She sniffs rapidly at my finger tips, my palm, and then in one single slurp she laps up the single treat, crunching it twice before swallowing.
“What a good girl!” I sit on my knees now and ruffle her ears like I would ruffle the hair of a child.
“I knew she’d love you.” Mrs. Frost smiles as she leans against Mr. Holland who has a bright white smile across his face.
“Boys,” she addresses the two youngest, “will you please make sure Tom’s room is tidy?”
The boys nod and the younger skips to the front door.
“I’m sure you’re exhausted, Angie.”
“I’m tired too, Mum.” Tom pouts and I can tell they he’s only partly joking.
“Yes, you too my darling.” She steps toward Tom and takes his arm. “Now if you’d show Angie to your room. Your father and I have made some changes-“
“To my room?” Tom asks, now being turned toward the front door by his mother.
Tessa is still next to me, watching me closely and I give her another treat.
Once inside I’m almost surprised at how homey everything is since I’m thousand of miles away from my own home.
“Angie, please make yourself at home. I will give you the grand tour after you’ve rested. Dominic has prepared dinner and we will be eating soon, but please,” she steps closer to me and takes my hands, Tom’s smile spreading across her face, “if you just want to sleep, we understand.”
I take in a deep breath, about to say ‘Oh no, that’s okay’, but then I feel the ache in my back and the heaviness in my eyes.
Before I could respond Mrs. Frost squeezes my hands. “I’m just so happy you’re here!” She has my hands and pulls me into a comforting hug and I start to feel my eyes sting.
I look up and can see Tom watching with a soft smile before looking away.
Mrs. Frost loosens her grip and when I come away from the hug I see her eyes just as shiney as mine.
We laugh and she wipes her right eye.
“Son, will you show her to her room?”
I look toward Tom and he stiffens up. “Yeh, let’s bring your…” his voice trails off as he spins looking for my suitcase that was behind him.
“Just let me know if you need anything.” Mrs. Frost smiles and then leaves for her other sons who start to tell her about something interesting, but then I’m alone with Tom.
He smiles quietly and we both can feel how awkward this is.
I follow him into what I assume was his room based on what Mrs. Frost has said and once I enter the door I’m sure it is.
The floor is a light beige carpet, the walls are white. One wall is just a bookcase from carpet to ceiling filled with different sizes and colors of books. A guitar in one corner and a computer desk with a black rolling chair. A large window letting in so much natural light and two twin beds on either side of the room.
I’m snapped out of my daze when Tom drops my suitcase onto the red bed.
“So this is your, well, our room.” He rubs the back of his neck and steps back, his calves meeting the blue bed.
I step forward as I slowly slip my backpack off of my shoulder and next to my suitcase. I glance over my shoulder before sitting down and see that the door is only slightly open.
I take a deep breath and look up at Tom.
“So… you gotta admit, this is fucking weird.”
He immediately laughs and sighs.
“Bloody bizarre.” His shoulders relax.
“Can we just, get it all out?”
His head tilts slightly.
“Like, full transparency.”
He nods once, “Ahhh. Yes. That’s probably best.”
We are quiet a few seconds. Both sat on a twin bed now only a few feet apart.
“So…” he copies my tone.
“So you’re Spider-Man…”
He’s quiet a few more seconds. “Yeh.” He smiles and rubs he knees. “And you’re the girl my Mum’s been talking to for months about taking care of Tessa.”
“Yep.” I rub my knees the same way and nod while sucking my lips in.
“And you honestly didn’t know who I was the entire time?”
I laugh. “No clue. My mom and I saw you and Harrison leave behind that crowd in California… I mean I felt like you were familiar… but-“
“Does your Mum know?”
I laugh again. “Yeah.” I scoot back slightly on the bed and sit cross legged. “But if you’re Spider-Man, is Harrison…”
“Just my best mate.” He smiles and holds his hands in his lap. “Same as I told ya on our last flight.”
“This is insane.” I shake my head and look at the floor.
“I mean- I’m just a normal guy,” he holds his hand to his chest. “I might know people that a lot of people know, but I’m also a son, and a brother… just normal.”
His voice is somehow softer and he’s right. He is just… normal. If it hadn’t been for the airport crowds he would’ve been like any other guy. He’s got an accent and he’s pretty cute, but nothing too special.
“Yeah, me too.” I nod making him laugh. “I’ve been in a couple movies too, ya know?”
“Yeah.” I let one leg fall as I shift on the bed slightly. “There’s one about this little girl. She’s real smart, but kind of clumsy, and she gets this ruby red tricycle for Christmas…”
I am obviously describing a random home video I’ve seen hundreds of times, but Tom is smirking and nodding, playing along.
“So she is trying this bike for the first time, but plot twist!” I raise my hands making Tom jump, “she’s too scared and actually never uses it or learns how to ride any bike for the rest of her life!”
“You don’t know how to ride a bike?” He raises an eyebrow.
“Nope.” I chuckle, but he’s quiet.
“Well, it looks like we’ll be roomies until… well until my next gig. I’ll give you some privacy.” He stands and almost bows making me smile, but then he’s gone and the door is closed.
“What the hell is happening.” I lay onto my back and stare at the ceiling for a minute before sitting up again. As much as I’ve enjoyed talking to him, I am so wiped.
For the next hour or so I unpack some of my stuff, find the bathroom that is fixed between my door and another which for now I’ll guess is the room of one of Tom’s brothers, and wash up some.
Just as I’m putting some of my things out on the counter I hear laughter.
I peek my head out of the bathroom door and look across the cozy home.
“Awe, come on!” A voice shouts, maybe Sam.
That was definitely Tom.
I put some things back in my room and slip on my shoes before walking toward the back yard.
“Just remember, you’ve got to tuck your head in. Like this.”
I close the sliding glass door and see a large backyard with Tom, Paddy, and Harrison standing on a large blue mat that takes up most of the space.
“Hey, Angela!” Harrison waves which distracts Tom and just the right moment, causing his front flip to come up short.
He goes up and then flat on his back and Harrison and Paddy immediately burst into laughter.
“Oh- oh my gosh, are you okay?”
Tom is coughing and gets on his hands and knees.
“He’s fine.” Harrison smiles and smacks his back.
I slip my shoes off, since the boys are in their socks on the mat, and I step up to join them.
“Fuck off.” Tom laughs through a couple more coughs and then he stands.
I can’t help but smile at their antics and I see Tom’s cheeks flush pink for a second before he turns away to try again, and this time he is successful.
“I’ll never get it.” Paddy is quiet a moment.
“You’ll get it, Pads.” He ruffles Paddy’s curls before glancing at me. “Do you want to try, Angela?”
“Yeh!” He laughs.
“Like, try to front flip?” My stomach feels like it’s already upside-down.
“Yeh, come here.” He gestures for me to come closer.
I look at Paddy and Harrison and they’re both smiling and watching me.
“So the first step is tumbling. So you’ll just get on your knees, tuck in your head, and push!”
And I watch him roll forward.
I take a deep breath and kneel. “Don’t laugh at me.” I say, putting my palms on the blue mat.
“I would never.” He smiles, holding back a laugh already.
I do as he said. I tuck in my head and push. The first time not enough and the second time probably too hard because I tumble but land pretty hard on my back.
I hear laughing from all three of them. When I open my eyes Tom is standing above me and extending his hand.
“You said you wouldn’t lauuuugh.” I groan and roll onto my stomach.
Tom’s hands are suddenly at my waist and he helps me to stand.
“Let’s just get step one down, yeh?”
Who couldn’t resist that smile.
For the next hour or so Tom and I take turns tumbling and each time I feel like I’m smacking on my back.
Harrison and Paddy try a couple tricks themselves across the yard and occasionally Harry and Sam come into the backyard to talk to them.
“Tommm, don’t make me flop again.” I’m on my back, panting.
“You can do it, Angie. Come on. Up up.” He takes my hand and helps me to my feet.
If I was tired before this, but I feel like I could sleep on this mat, right here and now.
“If you just touch your chin to your chest, I promise you’ll get it.”
He takes my hand and smiles, but then immediately drops it.
“Let’s try once more and then we’ll rest for the night.”
“Who knew… I move to England to take care of a dog and now I’m the one learning the tricks.”
Tom laughs and does his tumble, as easy as ever.
I kneel, my hands on the mat just as it has been the at least hundred times I’ve tried.
“Touch your chin to your chest.”
I do. And I push.
And I land.
“Fuck, yeah! You did it! Angie did it!” He shouts toward where Paddy and Harrison were only to see the rest of the yard was now empty.
I stand and feel tired, but accomplished.
“Thanks for teaching me, Tom… but I am so tired.”
“Oh! Yeah! Of course-“
He quickly steps down from the blue pad and extends his hand, helping me down.
“Th- thanks.” I take my hand away and hold them behind my back.
“You two still out here?” Mrs. Frost pokes her head out of the back door.
“Yeh, Mum. We’re coming.”
Tom follows me inside and it’s quiet.
“You two outlasted even Paddy!”
“Everyone’s asleep?” I ask, still walking toward my… our room.
“Yeh.” Tom smiles. “My family likes to be up early.”
“I hope that’s okay.” Mrs. Frost says from behind me.
“Yeah! Yeah, of course. I mean my sleep schedule is weird right now anyway, so I’ll be able to adapt to whatever you need.”
“Then I’ll see you bright and early.” She smiles and extends her arms.
We hug and my eyes sting again, remember my own mom and how far away she is.
“Goodnight, son.” She then hugs him and kisses his cheek.
“Night, Mum.” He smiles and she leaves.
He extends his arm signaling for me to take the lead.
I walk into our room and flop face first into my bed.
“Me too.” He says.
Over the next hour we take turns in the bathroom; showering, changing, brushing our teeth.
When I’m finished I bring my things back into my room and toss them on my suitcase to be tended to later.
Tom is already under the blue blanket. It’s only up to his waist and he’s on his phone.
I get into my bed and do the same, just a small lamp between us keeping everything visible.
“Is it weird being famous?”
I can hear Tom turn toward me, but I keep my gaze at the ceiling.
“Well. Weird no. But overwhelming sometimes. Yes.”
“Do you have like… a secret Instagram that only your close friends and family have?”
He chuckles. “Yeh.”
“Can I have it?” Still looking at the ceiling.
“I mean, sure.”
“In the morning though…” I wave my hand in the air.
It’s quiet again.
He laughs a little and turns off the lamp.
It’s quiet again, this time for a bit longer.
“Does it suck being in public?”
It’s quiet a moment and then he answers, sounding tired now.
“Sometimes. Sometimes it feels like people forget I get tired too. But I love seeing fans and meeting people. Just sometimes I’m fucking tired.”
I don’t say anything. I’m almost asleep.
After a moment I answer, “Mhh?”
“Thanks for being so… kind. It’s not often I meet somebody new and enjoy it so much.”
I’m almost asleep, but I smile.
“I’m happy that even if we weren’t on the same flight that we would’ve met anyway.”
I can barely hear him now.
“I hope you like it here.”
It’s so muffled I can barely make out his words.
And then I’m asleep.
And then I’m back home.
Mom is on the porch and there’s such a nice breeze coming through the doors.
“Mom!” I shout and burst into tears.
It’s only been a day, but I feel like it’s been years.
“Mom!” I shout again.
She doesn’t move.
“Mom!!” I yell louder.
Nothing. She sits on a dark wicker chair and looks out over the city.
I take a step closer, and closer, and closer, and I’m not moving. I’m not moving when I step and step and step.
Then each time I step I feel like I’m walking through mud, but I’m sliding backward and back and back until-
“Mom!” I shout as I sit up, this time actually shouting into the dark silent room.
I’m panting and realize my eyes are wet as Tom turns on the light.
His blanket is already off of him exposing his white t-shirt and black shorts.
“What’s wrong, Angie??”
I can’t talk. I’m panting and my mouth is dry.
He jumps from his bed and leaves the room, but is back quickly with a glass of water. He sits at the foot of my bed and I gladly take the water, coughing slightly as I drink most of it.
Breathing between sips helps calm my breathing and he takes the cup back when he realizes I’m done.
He’s quiet, just watching me as I’m still sobbing.
After a few minutes I’m sniffling and I finally start to breath normally.
“Angela. You alright?”
I look up at him and he’s blurry through my tears. I nod, but still do not say anything.
He moves closer. “You sure?”
I nod and use my tank top to wipe my eyes.
“I probably look crazy.”
He doesn’t laugh like I thought he would. Instead he takes my hand.
“You don’t look crazy, Angie. Tired. And sad. But not crazy.”
He’s still holding my hand and the kindness causes me to choke back tears again for a minute or so.
He’s stroking the back of my hand with his thumb when I calm down again.
“I just miss… my mom.” I gasp.
He nods and lets go of my hand.
“It’s hard. It is. We are all here for you and you’ve heard my Mum already say, you are to make yourself at home here.”
“Let’s…” his voice trails off and then he stands. “Hey could you stand a minute?”
“Stand?” I sniffle.
“Trust me.” He smiles.
I push the red blanket down and stand.
“Over here.” He points to the foot of my bed next to my suitcase. “Perfect.” He says when I’m standing where he pointed.
Next I watch as he walks between our beds and then grips the bottom of his bed before tugging. He rolls over it and then pushes it further from the wall, now a foot closer to my bed. He does the same to my bed and now they are only maybe a half a foot apart.
To finish he looks through his closet a second before pulling out an old teddy bear. He gets onto the blue bed and places the bear over the place between our pillows.
“Nigel will be here. He likes cuddles. And I’ll be right here. If you need anything.” He points to his bear and then himself.
I smile and my cheeks feel warm making the new tears seem almost cold.
“Oh, Angie.” He stands.
“It’s okay. It’s a good cry. Thank you, Tom.” I crawl into the red bed and lay down before taking a deep breath, my breath still wavering slightly.
I’m about to get really rambly and emotiinal because it’s Shayne’s birthday and I’m sitting here remembering that time I saw this dude who did a really great Jack Sparrow impression and I felt happy in that moment. I was young when I first became a fan of Shayne because of Disney Channel and then he joined smosh and I have never been prouder of someone and as long as he’s happy and continues smiling and being an amazing actor, I know I’ll be happy and proud…like a momma bird. I’ve been a fan of smosh for a really long time and I have been a fan of Shayne before he ever joined them and I have nothing but love and respect for this guy. He’s my everything and I don’t know where I would be or who I would be if it weren’t for his lame jokes and weird laugh. Seeing him succeed and go for more has made me want to do the same. He’ll never see this but it’s still nice to give recognition and show appreciation to the ones you love. Happy Birthday, sunshine 🎈✨
(p.s. i think he’s a big dork, i call him baby bear 🐻)
