weekly watercolor

I wanted to try a different kind of layout today with the flaps! It took a while to figure out how I wanted everything to look, but I think I like how it turned out ^^ I used this circular container to stamp the fading watercolor circle around “weekly”, so it almost looks like a coffee cup stain lol

Bujo spread for Weeks 1 and 2 of January 🌻👄

Finally got around to setting up my new bujo! I figured a new layout was in order for efficient space usage. Since the journal I bought has really thick paper, I’ve been having lots of fun with watercolor pencils and really letting the creative juices flow lol

New Watercolor Painting Tutorial is up on Youtube! A couple of people asked what my process was like making these Daily Watercolor paintings, and I’m happy to be starting a new 30 day sprint. Join me over on Instagram and Twitter for my Daily Watercolor updates! Weekly compilations will be posted on my Tumblr. If you guys have any other questions feel free to message me or leave a comment!

Hamilton, Burr, and Angelica

Sean McGuire

For this week’s #weekly art challenge, the prompt was: Alexander Hamilton, so naturally my art this week are little water color sketches of Lin Manuel Miranda as Hamilton, Leslie Odom Jr. as Aaron Burr, and Renee Elise Goldsberry from the Tony award winning musical, Hamilton. You’re welcome.

I will have to upload the reference photo later. Just got my granddad’s old flatbed scanner, FO FREE, and it works! It’s very lightweight, so I can carry it around in a bag with me and scan ALL OVER THE PLACE. Along with my tiny laptop. Mobility is mine.

fuckasaurus rex, I need to get caught up scanning the weekly watercolors I’ve done. It’s hard to motivate to do that though, because they’ve been pretty shitty paintings the past few weeks. This one here of Dorien’s mom Alione is the first decent painting in a while. This is her when she first meets Dorien’s dad, Solien. And confuses him for a deaf-mute. And probably nearly tries to molest him. And romance happens.

Weekly Watercolor #5, pencils and ink! Featuring a guitar IN DEEP SPACE. By which I mean “at angles you will not enjoy drawing, which will vex you considerably and make this already complicated to draw object even MORE awful”. Hopefully I’ll get it all painted tomorrow. I’ll post the reference photo when I post the painted product. :)

Thanks, scanner, for making everything look odd. Oh well. Reference was this image:

that I saved off Tumblr so many months ago…I can’t remember who originally blogged it. But I figure I should at least show you what my reference was, lest you think I am at all capable of coming up with poses / believable shading purely by imagination
