Joa, the Cubs’ mascot, is dragged to third base during a game at Wrigley (then called Weeghman Park), 1916, (see Update below) Chicago

Joa lived in a cage at Addison and Sheffield. After a year, management decided he was too much work and sold him to the Lincoln Park Zoo for $20. 

Update: Thanks to everyone who wrote in to correct the date and location. This is indeed a shot from West Side Grounds in 1906. Joa would come later to Wrigley in 1916. Not sure of this little cub’s name. The source had it wrong!
