Nicorey being targeted? Great!

But Polly being targeted would be 100x better. I can’t stand his misogyny any more. He literally has no reason to “clip” Z. She’s loyal af to him and would always be a number for him. Strategically it makes no sense. And don’t even get me started on his obsession with Day. Leave our chocolate drops alone, you freak!

I am worried about Ayato, Yomo and Eto. It was strange for Yomo to be wounded in this chapter while Banjou is curing Ayato. I don't know it feels like a move to create a particular situation and I am worried about what situation Ishida is willing to explore. As for Eto the more I think about it and the more it feels off. It seems as if her personal arc hasn't reached a conclusion yet. And I am worried about Ayato cause I don't understand what Ishida wants to do with his character.

I think Yomo and Ayato will be alright at this stage. Koma got almost the same injury from Higher Mind and was relatively OK so I think Yomo will survive.

As for Eto.. I think I will wait a while before making a judgement. For me, it feels like there should be more of a finality in her death so I will wait to see if something else happens!

This is completely out of the blue but i was wondering if you had any headcanons about Kikoku - where law got it/what it means to him/what it is (it doesn't seem to be related to zoro's cursed swords i don't think)? its not something you've rought up in fics i was just curious

no problem, i love headcanon questions! kikoku is indeed a cursed sword. in volume 71′s sbs, oda confirmed kikoku’s name, it’s cursed-ness, and that it “has no rank” which i’m assuming means it’s not a famous blade or one of the wazamono grade swords.

i can write headcanons for present kikoku, but it’s hard to headcanon its past because there are so many possibilities. kikoku appears quite important to law, because he’s not often seen without it. i used to think it was a memento. but we didn’t get anything about nodachis in law’s flashback, it doesn’t relate to his backstory or rocinante, and we’ve seen his younger self fight with guns and knives more. so why a gigantic cursed sword?

buuut enough about that, let’s get to the headcanons!

  • law found kikoku in his late teens, but he was still just barely tall enough to hold it without falling over
  • sometimes he uses it as a walking staff/cane, sometimes leans his head against it when he’s tired. it’s a form of armor, one he prefers keeping within arm’s reach.
  • kikoku gets moody when its blade isn’t sharpened or its sheathe is dirty, and sometimes law thinks it purposefully gets harder to wield in battle as though to berate him
  • it has inspired much reverence among the crew, because law only lets those who are strong enough to not be affected by the curse to hold kikoku
    • bepo gloats
  • on dark, moonless nights, law can hear it singing.
    • only him, no one else.
  • possible meet cutes i’ve thought about:
    • law fought kikoku’s previous owner and won it from him
    • since it’s known for bringing misery to its owners, he picked it up just for kicks, betting that there’s no way a glorified butter knife could possible out-misery his life
      • and won over kikoku’s allegiance much like zoro betting his luck against sandai kitetsu
    • or, maybe, he found kikoku the same time he met bepo?? maybe bepo gave it to him??
    • maybe he was going for aesthetic reasons and a nodachi looked like a scalpel when he performed his ope ope “operations”, so he just picked the first nodachi he found
  • or - and this is highly plausible - he was so enraptured by wano samurai that he wanted to get a proper sword. a huge sword.
    • the bigger the better.
      • extra big

hunk and lance friendship hcs
  • Hunk and Lance knew each other before the Garrison and have been bffs since childhood
  • Hunk and Lance didn’t meet in the same preschool nor did they ever go to the same school (until the garrison) but met each other in a nearby playground where they continued to meet up for the next 8-11 years of their life, they usually let off steam about the shit that goes down in their schools.
  • “Like, if you’re going to steal something from the mall -” “Don’t wear your uniform?” “EXACTLY. God, that guy was so stupid.” “Agreed.”
  • “Then… then he KICKED the guy’s nose!!! He was bleeding, Lance! He needed to be taken to the hospital!!” “Oh my God, and then what?” “A girl was crying the whole entire time and -” the stories they share go on and on.
  • Lance’s mom and Hunk’s mom are interested in the same things so their sons r bffs and so r they and their moms drag them off sometimes to do grocery shopping but Hunk and Lance are aways ‘can’t we just stay at hoooommmmeeee?’ ‘no you’re going to help me and hunk’s mom buy groceries for our party’ ‘what party????’ ‘a joint family party!!!!’ ‘??????? !!!! A JOINT FAMILY PARTY ????’
  • Hunk’s family and Lance’s family are really close buds now
  • It’s almost surreal how much the two families are alike to interests???
  • Hunk and Lance meet up after graduating middle school and decide to finally enrol in the same school. Both of them couldn’t have been anymore excited and happy.
  • Hunk is Lance’s only tether to Earth because Hunk is childhood and playground days, fighting off bullies and staying up at night under covers and pillow forts, charting stars while laying on muddy grass after rain, stealing cookies when their mothers aren’t looking, and making stupid jokes together as the sun went down – all of their world, quiet and soft and sound.
  • Lance loves Hunk and Hunk loves Lance. They’re best friends, because water breathes life on Earth and what is water without it’s Earth?
