Anyone who has spent five seconds around me ever:
yes, you love Shane and Ryland, we know, you love Shane Dawson and Ryland Adams so much, they're the light of your life, you love them so much, you just love Shane and Ryland, we KNOW, you love Shane and Ryland you fucking love Shane and Ryland okay we know, we get it, YOU LOVE SHANE AND RYLAND. WE GET IT.
Y/N had figured out that she was unconscious and in the hospital. She vaguely remembered being attack by the werewolf during a hunt gone wrong. She was slipping in and out of it, dreaming one minute and being able to hear the activity going on in her room around her the next.
She heard the doctor saying something, but she couldn’t make it out. She felt herself slipping out of it again, back to the dream world. This time she was sitting in a booth at the Midnight Diner. The Midnight Diner had been her and Adam’s favorite place back home in Minnesota, they loved to come here on the few nights Mom had off from the graveyard shift.
It looked the same as it always had. Same terrible gaudy green booth benches, the wall clock forever frozen at two o’clock and the same old crowd of regulars chattering away. It was only a dream, but it felt surreal to be back here, she hadn’t set foot in here since her mom and Adam died.
It would be a lie to say she hadn’t dreamed about it before, but they usually turned out to be nightmares. The diner abandoned and empty, a reminder that the life she once lead was long gone and never coming back. This one seemed to be turning out alright, just like she always remembered, except-
Y/N’s head whipped around, she’d recognize that voice anywhere, “Adam.”
There he was. Her twin brother. Standing right behind her, it was only a dream, but Y/N hadn’t seen him this clearly in years.
“Adam!” She threw herself up and into his arms. The siblings stood there hugging each other for minutes, enjoying the feeling of holding each other again. Adam held her at arm’s length and Y/N wiped the tears from her eyes.
“Look at you. Little worse for wear, aren’t we?” Y/N let out a small laugh, simply happy to be here with him, even if he gave her a hard time. The siblings slipped into the booth and Y/N couldn’t take her eyes off her brother. He smiled at her and she couldn’t help, but smile back, the first real one in weeks.
“God I miss you Adam.”
“I miss you too kiddo.” She rolled her eyes at him, he was only two minutes older than her. “You’ve been hunting.”
It was more a statement than a question and Y/N fidgeted under his gaze, “Maybe.”
Adam quirked an eyebrow at her, “Little dangerous don’t you think? Chasing after monsters, good way to get yourself killed.”
“I’m fine, I’m perfectly capable of taking care of myself. I’ve been doing this for a while.”
“Perfectly capable huh? Yeah, that explains why you almost died in the back seat of Dad’s damn car.”
“Technically it’s Dean’s now,” Y/N mumbled under her breath. He fixed her with a pointed look, not caring who exactly owned the car now. She was aware that Adam wouldn’t approve of her hunting. Being crazy overprotective was one of the few similarities between him, Sam and Dean.
“I know, I know, you don’t approve. Well good thing I don’t answer to you then.”
“I just don’t want anything to happen to you. Things could have gone a lot worse than they did yesterday. If it weren’t for Sam and Dean you’d be dead right now,” Y/N looked down at her hands. Adam sighed. “I’m sorry, I just, nothing turned out the way it should have. I mean, I should be in med school right now, Mom should be alive, and she should still be blissfully unaware of what hides in the dark. God, our lives got so screwed up.”
Y/N snorted, “You’re telling me. I just want to go back to the good old days when it was just us, the two of us against the world. When the biggest thing we worried about was if you were going to burn dinner that night, not what monster was in town. I preferred thinking Dad was a dead beat, rather than knowing the truth.”
Adam flashed her the signature Winchester bitch face, “You were known to burn dinner too.”
“But not as much as you,” she teased. Y/N eased back into her seat, basking in the familiarity of it all.
Adam’s smiled turned serious and he leaned forward on the table, “Just try and be more careful, okay?”
Y/N nodded, “I will. Not going to lie, it scared the hell out of me too. I really thought I was going to die in Sam’s arms in the backseat of that car.”
“Speaking of, what are you planning to do about him and Dean?”
“Well I guess I need to save them for saving my life.”
“I’m being serious.”
“So am I. Manners, remember?” Adam fixed her a look and she looked down, picking at her nails. “I don’t know. I don’t know what to do about them. I don’t trust them and I haven’t forgiven them.”
“You need to.” Y/N’s head snapped up.
“What? I mean… I don’t understand.” How could Adam of all people tell her to forgive them?
“You should give them a chance. Don’t hate them forever on my behalf. I’ve forgiven them and so should you.”
“Adam,” she tried to keep her voice level, she didn’t want to ruin it all by yelling at him. “They left you, in the cage, with Michael and Lucifer.”
“Trust me, I’m very much aware. They didn’t treat me very well, there is no denying it, but I think they feel guilty enough about it without you adding to it. They love you a lot. Plus, it’ll make me feel better to know that you’re not all alone, that somebody is watching my little sister’s back.”
Y/N shock her head, this wasn’t real, “This is my subconscious talking, not you. This isn’t real, this isn’t you. You’re still in the cage.”
“Very true unfortunately, but this is what you know I would say to you if I could.”
Y/N felt herself slowly waking from the dream. Adam and the diner were starting to fade away. It was just a dream, but she wanted to stay here longer, she wasn’t done talking to her brother.
“Forgive them Y/N, if you won’t do it for yourself do it for me. Don’t hate them in my name. Promise me you’ll try.”
The diner and Adam completely disappeared and darkness came again. She could vaguely hear the beeping of a heart monitor going on around her and a quiet voice speaking, “When you wake up things are going to be different. They’re going to be better. Sam and I, we have a lot to make up for and that’s going to start the second you open those eyes. I’m not going to take this second chance for granted. We have so much to catch up on still. So much I still want to learn about you. Hell, I don’t even know color eyes you have.”
Dean’s voice faded out and silence overtook the room, but only briefly before Sam started to speak, “We love ya sis and we can’t wait to talk about everything and start earning your trust back. We know we messed up and don’t blame you for being mad at us. We’ve messed up in the past. We’ve made some major mistakes and quite often, but we’re not going to let history repeat itself. We won’t make the same mistakes we made with Adam, with you. We love you kid.”
Her brothers sounded so broken and scared, like they really cared. Y/N felt someone holding her hand and she tried to stretch her fingers out, to move her hand and let them know she heard them.
“Y/N?” An excited voice asked. Good, maybe it was working.
“What’s going on?” Y/N heard what sounded like Sam ask.
“Her hand moved,” she must be holding Dean’s hand then.
“Seriously? We should go get a doctor.” Y/N tried to squeeze Dean’s hand again, “Y/N? Can you hear me? Can you open your eyes?”
Y/N’s eyes fluttered opened and she blinked up to see her brothers crowded over her, worried looks on their faces, “Y/N?”
She coughed and both brothers reached out, desperate to help her. When she spoke, her voice was hoarse and rough, “Sammy, my blood is really not your color.”
Genuine laughter filled the room with the siblings for the first time in weeks.
behatiprinsloo: A very surreal and amazing day for our family. I’m so proud of all your accomplishments, but mostly I’m proud of the amazing person you are. Best dad best husband, we love you. 💋👨👩👧⭐️
It was then that the doctor approached them, “Family of Y/N Milligan.”
The boys sprang up instantly from their seats, “Yes! Yes, we’re her brothers.”
“Well boys, your sister is very lucky to be alive.”
“She’s going to be okay?” Dean hurriedly cut the doctor off.
“Yes,” the doctor patiently continued. “But she’s going to be laid up for a while. Y/N lost a lot of blood tonight and it’s a pretty deep wound on her stomach. We’ve stitched her up and given her blood transfusions, but she’s very weak right now. She has a long road to recovery ahead of her.”
The boys let out a breath and visibly relaxed. Their little sister was going to be okay. They could handle any complications the accident might have brought up later, “Thanks doctor. Can we see her?”
“Of course. Y/N’s asleep right now, we gave her a sedative to help her sleep. She’s in room 313, take the elevator upstairs and it’s to your left.”
The brothers rushed across the waiting room to the elevator, with Sam shouting a final thank you to the doctor. The doors closed and Dean impatiently jabbed the 3 button, “C’mon, c’mon.”
“That’s not going to make it go any faster,” Sam said, eyeing his brothers insistently tapping foot.
“I just want to see her. This stupid thing needs to hurry up.”
“You heard the doctor Dean, Y/N’s asleep.”
“So?” Dean looked at his brother like he was crazy, “I still want to see her? I’m not going to feel better till I see for myself that she’s going to be okay.”
Sam sighed and nodded. Regardless of the doctor’s encouraging words, he was still worried about his little sister. He understood Dean’s need to see her.
The elevator dinged and the brothers were rushing out before the doors were fully opened. They turned left and jogged down the hallway, checking numbers as they went.
“313!” Dean exclaimed excitedly, stopping in front of a closed door. He yanked the door open, but stopped in the doorway, causing Sam to bump into him.
“Why’d you stop?”
Dean shifted enough that Sam could see past him into the room. He caught a glimpse of Y/N laying in the bed and his breath caught in his throat. She looked so tiny lying there hooked up to various machines, an oxygen mask resting on her face.
Dean cleared his throat, trying to push back the tears. His sister looked so fragile and it wasn’t lost on him how close they came to losing her today. Him and Sam hadn’t known Y/N long, but the thought of losing her was a scary one.
The Winchester brothers slowly made their way into the room, scared to disturb Y/N. The each pulled a chair up to the side of the bed and once they were seated, Dean reached a hand out, carefully taking her cold one in his.
They sat there in silence for a while before Dean started to talk, “I’m so sorry that we let this happen. We should have been more careful, we should have protected you better. I know,” Dean let out a weak chuckle. “I know, you’re perfectly capable of taking care of yourself. But we should have been more on top of our game. I’m really glad that you’re going to be okay. The doctors say that you’ll have some recovering to do, but it shouldn’t be anything you can’t handle.”
Dean paused and breathed before continuing, his voice cracking as he started to speak, “When you wake up things are going to be different. They’re going to be better. Sam and I, we have a lot to make up for and that’s going to start the second you open those eyes. I’m not going to take this second chance for granted. We have so much to catch up on still. So much I still want to learn about you. Hell, I don’t even know color eyes you have.”
Dean’s voice cracked again, too overcome with emotion to continue. Sam sat forward, resting his arms on the bed by his sister’s legs, “We love ya sis and we can’t wait to talk about everything and start earning your trust back. We know we messed up and I don’t blame you for being mad at us. We’ve messed up in the past. We’ve made some major mistakes and quite often, but we’re not going to let history repeat itself. We won’t make the same mistakes we made with Adam, with you. We love you kid.”
As Sam finished talking, one of Y/N’s machines beeped, both boys wiped their heads up, concerned at the new noise in the quiet hospital room. When it didn’t make another sound, the boys relaxed back into their seats, but Dean soon jolted forward. Sam gave him a questioning look, but Dean just leaned closer, “Y/N?”
“What’s going on?” Sam asked his older brother, concerned.
“Her hand moved!”
“Seriously,” Sam asked excitedly and Dean nodded quickly. The brothers crowded closer to the bed, “We should go get a doctor.”
Before either could leave the room, Y/N’s right hand moved again. “Y/N? Can you hear me? Can you open your eyes?”
Just when Sam was about to go get the doctor, her eyes slowly opened.
This is amazing and I can never think of the right words to say at the right time to say, and I’ll probably wake up tomorrow and say “I should’ve said this and this and this” But number one, thank you for the moose hat I can’t tell you how much I appreciate that. And number two, is basically… I, I am a coca cola employee I’m not really a musician. So, needless to say two years ago, two/three years ago I’m this like nobody from nowhere in the middle of this small town in Minnesota who has a dream that is so unreachable, I’m lost. And I’m stuck in this world I can’t get out of. And so, two years ago a few or two have said to me: “Hey Adam you can quit your job and you can make music, you can do one thing in this world that you’re good at. You can make music and you can dream” And suddenly, by writing these kind of whimsical songs. Suddenly, you have vehicles to go places that the four walls of your city won’t let you go. And so… So it all comes down to… For a skinny little punk from nowhere with a moose hat on right now. You’d never thought in a million years, I’d be here. Or be allowed to do what I’m most passionate about, cause I’m not good at anything else in this world except for music. So to give you this chance, I can’t thank you enough. God bless you guys.
First, would ask why! Would promise to change/fix whatever it is that’s wrong
Does crying work on you? He’ll try that
Does sexually mauling you work? He’ll try that.
You are his princess and the light of his life; he will do everything to keep you
If, after all the promises and tears and sex, you still want to go, he’ll let you. But he’ll make sure you know that you’re leaving an empty shell behind.
At first, would cry and want to try and fix things.
“I do everything for you! How can you leave me?!”
And, if that doesn’t work, he would go Yandere
“I do everything for you. How can you leave me?”
If he’s older, like after he’s done school, he would most likely be mature enough to let you go. But never reach out to him again; don’t even try to be friends.
But if he’s younger, and therefore needier, you’re not going anywhere.
You. Are. Staying.
He can’t lose any more loved ones; he’ll trap you if he has to.
Would let you go.
Would not cry in front of you.
Would ask if it’s something she did, first. If it’s fixable, she’ll offer at least once to try
But, she’s not going to get someone who’s only half-hearted to stay. If you wanna go, fine. She’s not stopping you. She thought you were different; that you cared for her more than that. But, apparently she was wrong.
You would have to explain to him why.
If you do not give a reason that he, himself, cannot fix, then he will reject your decision to break up.
He will simply function like you never brought it up. Everything will go like normal, unless you can give him a good reason.
If you say that you’ve fallen out of love, he would ask for examples. Show your work. How are we out of love? That makes no sense. I still care about you. You don’t care about me, anymore? At all? Not even a little?
BUT WE ARE MARRIED.
He would keep you trapped in his house, again, for a while. To try to convince you to change your mind. He would shower you in luxury and all of your favourite things. "Look at how good you have it with me. I love you. Please. Stay.“
Once he saw that you were miserable, though, he would let you go. It would kill him, but he would let you go. Because he loves you.
He would still keep tabs on you, though. You may not even realize it, but he will keep an eye on you, to keep you safe.
Denial, at first.
"lol, this is a stupid prank. Stop it, though; it’s not funny.”
Would fight it. No, you can’t go; we love each other!
But if you were adamant about leaving, then he would get angry.
“Fine! Leave! I never really cared about you, anyway!”
He would go from denial, to anger in order to cope. Because his nightmare would be coming true: His angel stopped loving him.
