we learned from the best

  • The Walking Dead: So, you also teased a main character would be killed off but then surprised everyone when you killed off TWO main characters?
  • Agents of SHIELD: Yeah.
  • The Walking Dead: And then, just like what we did in our premiere, you forced the lovers of the slain main characters to watch helplessly as they died?
  • Agents of SHIELD: Well, technically speaking, Daisy was the only one who was romantically involved with both men but yeah, that was the point.
  • The Walking Dead: *drinks cup full of their fans' tears* Nicely done.
  • Agents of SHIELD: *eats burrito that's spiced with their fans' anger* We learned from the best.

The last of the enemies fall to the ground, a small trail of smoke coming from the barrel of my gun.
“Nice shot.” Bucky, my teammate, joins me next to the bodies of all the HYDRA agents we took down.
“Well, you know I learned from the best.” I nudge his shoulder, putting my gun back in the holdster.
I suddenly see a figure in the shadows, but before I have time to react a masked figure is running at us, directed at Bucky with a rather large knife.
I jump in front of the unknown attacker out of instinct, feeling the knife plunge into my chest.
I still manage to grab my near empty gun and shoot them, then fall to the ground.
“Why did you do that?!?” Bucky falls to his knees next to me, while I clutch the wound in my chest.
“He came out of nowhere… I saw what he was trying to do, and I couldn’t let that happen.” I breathe heavily, blood staining my hands quickly.
“Let’s just get you out of here, hold on.” He whispers with a shaky voice, picking me up in his arms. “You’ll be okay.”
(Sorry if this isn’t the best one, I had problems with this one.)

Get the scoop on our new favorite French femme’s effortless style

From daily fashion features to entire how-to books, the amount of information out there on French style is almost overwhelming. And yet it all returns to the same point of effortlessness that’s deeply set in not trying too hard. French model, actress and all-around ‘It’ girl Jeanne Damas embodies this air of elegance perfectly, with her Jane Birkin bangs, red-stained pout and innate sense of style. Never too done up, Jeanne will wear a pair of loose-fit jeans and an a-line mini skirt with the same sophisticated sexiness. Even though we’ll never be authentically French (le sigh), we can borrow some of their signature insouciance by learning from the best. A tree–and all plants and animals–becomes what it is capable of being within the context and circumstances of its life.

Human beings rarely become what they are capable of being,
and spend their time and energy,
rearranging, improving, transforming
the context and circumstances of their life,
to their own joy and satisfaction,
and personal gain.

This is the moral of the story of Adam and Eve in the Garden of Eden.
It is a story we each live out in the time an place of our living–
refusing to become who we are capable of being,
and wrestling with conditions and particulars
to make things more like we think they ought to be,
never minding who and how we think we ought to be.

We would do well to learn from the trees
how best to go about our life.

To err is human.  Acrylic on canvas.

No matter how hard we try, how diligent we are, how dedicated we are, we will err.  We are human.  The best we can do is to learn from our mistakes, minimize or repair harm from our errors, and apologize.  It’s a hard lesson to learn: one I will learn again, and again, and again in a hundred different ways.  I will reflect, I will grow, I will strive to do better.  To do my best.  Sometimes, I will fail.

But I must try.

courtesy of @asxhthetixcs and i it’s our official 2016 #mood board. it wasn’t the best year, but we learned a lot from it. we’ve grown, changed, and as kylie jenner puts it…we’ve Been Realizing and lets hope we continue to realize in 2017! cheers  🥂

I believe no matter our current profession, we do ourselves and others a disservice when we don’t do our best. We all make mistakes and learning from them is important. I am grateful that I enjoy what I do and excel at it. Today, I helped an individual who was not appropriately helped by one of my teammates. This mistake could have cost the individual his career goal. I am so glad to have been in a position to catch that error where it was easily corrected.

What you do makes a difference. Take ownership & grow in your abilities. We all have room to improve!!

SKAM Season 1 - Review

The hype of ’Skam’ isn’t to be taken lightly. It’s a pure success with a brand new perspective on youth – that’s relatable for both teens and adults.

Season 1 shines with natural and wonderful characters that you get to know very quickly. Sana, Eva, Isak, Vilde & all the other main characters are all very well presented. We get natural chemistry, stunning actor performances and let’s not forget the continuous character development from all the deception, lies, shame, love & misunderstandings they experience. The show put relationships and life experiences in a new perspective – it remarks the fact that we all perceive the world differently, and therefor acts in our own unique way. Our doings may be perceived as something completely else than what we originally intended – and the struggle of misunderstanding people is always a present trace. That’s some of ’Skam’s’ most important aspects, that we all can learn from. It’s one of the best & morally accurate dramas out there. It’s a slick, bright, free-directed drama that got high focus on details. Sure the directing can be a bit lazy, but it therefor feels like a journey into everyday life. As the show should be perceived as. It’s hard to get nit-picky; but some flaws are lacking inside to characters with smaller roles, and the quality of the editing can fluctuate at certain places throughout the show. But other than that; ’Skam’ really is the drama show of 2016 that we all can learn from.

The ability to get attached to characters of a tv-show so quickly, and the fact that it got so much to tell about everyday youth makes ’Skam’ a true groundbreaker among other dramas this year.

Average personal episode score: 77.4/100.

With this in mind, I was thinking about creating a space where we could exchange (and/or recommend) materials and tips, and practice our target languages with each other (a lot of people I know are learning French or German, but some of you are interested in Russian, Quechua, Japanese and so on). Many of us can’t afford classes, don’t have people to practice with or simply have no clue where to begin. It’s just an idea, but it’s simple and free and we already have at least one thing in common, so. What do you think?

Hey peeps! Not dead! Just life stuff, that’s all.

Ah, 2017. Just about half an hour away for me. Before we end this year of pure madness, let’s all hope that despite all of the negativity humanity dealt with this year, we learn from our past mistakes and do our best to make sure they don’t occur again. We can stop history from repeating itself if we change the traditions and make new steps for happier and better lives for everyone.

I hope you all have a Happy New Year, everyone. Peace!

Hey, all. I’ve been following THAC just as long as anyone else, and we need to be respectful of the boys’ wishes.

Troy’s going to be taking a break. He estimated it’ll be for about “a week or so,” but he should honestly take all the time he needs. His family and his own health come first.

It’s ultimately up to Tim and Joseph what they decide to do now. Regardless, we should wish them the best of luck.

Noah, too.

Things won’t be the same, but that’s alright. Mistakes happen, and we can only do our best to learn from them and move on.

we’re not just our failures. as much as they hurt, we learn from them. then we go out there and do our best to make up for them — even though we never will. we save people. we save as many as we can to make up for the ones we couldn’t. that’s all we do.

I think, what we have aside from humility is camaraderie we have between any of us. When Leo or Ney score, I am happy for them and for the team, and I think they feel the same way. Both of us, Ney and I have it clear that Leo is the best in the world, we learn a lot from him. Ney is learning in order to be the best in the best in the world because he has a lot of the conditions to be it. Having fun off and on th pitch is very good, we don’t envy each other for anything, neither for what we have achieved nor what one could achieve because we enjoy all three of us together.
