Such a great day, did some filming with little ant&dec, was funny and then leigh walked inside, she looked so pretty. went on a few rides at brighton pier, got so many stares from people as we were wearing unicorn onesies. my mum got a picture of norma while she went out durring the interval, so jealous ha.glad we found sam&one of the girls dancers, gave them the girls presents, sam said they were cute, so hopefully they got them. the girls were really good, literally the best night. all pictures mine.
OK there’s probably a lot of typos in this I am so sorry. I proof read it a few times but I feel like there still will be ones I’ve missed.
If you want this to be easier to read, here it is in parts: Part 1Before the Show | Part 2 Getting Picked for Loft 89 | Part 3During the Show | Part 4 ACTUAL LOFT 89 RGJEFMND
28th November 2015
We had driven up from Canberra, raced into the hotel, got dressed and it was time to go.
The second we walked out of our hotel room a hotel staff member was like ‘oh my gosh I gotta take a picture of you guys so I can show my daughter!!’ and it was awesome. We got so many stares walking out of the hotel but also heaps of compliments which was awesome because we have spent months making these costumes. We also used hundreds of hot glue gun sticks. I got to meet Grace (aka @cantevenswift on Instagram and @gracetheswiftie on tumblr) and her mum, @babyjustsayswift from Instagram and Sasha (@screamingcolour on Instagram) which just made me AUSHBJDFNS. We were also filmed by the guys making the rumoured and kind of confirmed Tour DVD walking around the stadium and it was just SO EXCITING!! Sydney Olympic Park staff also took photos of us for their social media pages and I just IUDGHVFSJA IT WAS SO COOL.
We got into the stadium and lined up to buy merchandise, bought dinner (which consisted of two cups of hot chips and coke wow so healthy), then I went to line up for the Taylor Nation booth but the line was extending all the way around the stadium so when Vance was going to start soon I decided to leave because I really really wanted to see him.
VANCE WAS ABSOLUTELY INCREDIBLE! He played From Afar and Red Eye which are my TWO FAVOURITE SONGS OFF DREAM YOUR LIFE AWAY and he was amazing and Georgia with all the phone lights made me so emo ahhh.
The second Feel So Close started, me and @kealieswift (aka my best friend Kealie) lost it because Taylor Swift was going to be RIGHT BEFORE OUR VERY EYES in a few minutes. Everyone around us was confused at why we were screaming but little did they know…
Then the lights went down, the beats of Welcome to New York started and Kealie and I began bawling and screaming. I was overcome with emotion and the battery pack for the lights around the edges of my guitar broke because I was ‘raving too hard’ or in the words of Taylor Swift ‘thrashing’. Then my headband broke too. However it was okay because Taylor was absolutely incredible and I JUST CAN’T BELIEVE I GOT TO WITNESS EVERYTHING LIVE. HER VOCALS WERE AMAZING AND SHE WAS AMAZING AND ALL HER SPEECHES MADE ME UGEYASHDJKKOPDFIHJDS. New Romantics was amazing and I the best thing was aggressively screaming AAAAHHHH at the beginning of the chorus and of course Taylor being SLAY SLAY SLAY. Come Blank Space, we were screaming ‘HIT ME WITH YOUR GOLF CLUB’ and ‘boys only want love if it’s torture SYDNEY’ a lot. THE CHOREOGRAPHY FOR THE TOUR WAS JUST SO INCREDIBLE AND THE DANCERS OH MY GOD THEY ARE SO TALENTED UWEFDJAKSL.
WE WERE UP TO I KNEW YOU WERE TROUBLE. AND THEN IT HAPPENED.
I had seen the lady from Taylor Nation standing in front of us with her back turned but I didn’t realise she was from Taylor Nation and was honestly focusing on the I KNEW YOU WERE TROUBLE INTRO WHICH MAKES ME SO AHHHH YOU HAVE NO IDEA. IT IS SO GOOD AND AMAZING. Then the intro ended and the intense violin section began and WHAT DO YOU KNOW. THE TAYLOR NATION LADY WALKS OVER TO US. ‘Hi girls!’ ‘Hi’ ‘Is it just the two of you?’ ‘Yes!’ ‘Have you guys ever met Taylor before?’ *SCREAMING* NO OH MY GOD NO NO OH MY ‘You promise?’ ‘YES WE SWEAR’ ‘You’re going to Loft 89’ ‘EYUGHJFSDIUHJ *SCREAMING* OH MY GOD OH MY GOD’ *MORE SCREAMING* ‘OH MY GOD OH MY GOD* ‘WE’RE MEETING TYALOR SWIFT WE’RE MEETING TYALOR SWIFT’ ‘ARE YOU SERIOUS’
Then the lady gave us the wristbands. ‘Hold onto this paper okay and then meet me at that section after the show’ ‘THANK YOU SO MUCH THANK YOU SO MUCH’ *MORE SCREAMING* ‘OH MY GOD, WE’RE MEETING TAYLOR SWIFT WHAT THE HELL’ *CRYING*
SO THAT HAPPENED.
The rest of the show was absolutely flawless and Taylor was so SO SO AMAZING. SHE PLAYED ALL YOU HAD TO DO WAS STAY AND THIS LOVE AND YOU ARE IN LOVE AND WHEN I SAID HOW AMAZING THAT WAS THAT WE HEARD ALMOST THE ENTIRE ALBUM SHE WAS LIKE ‘Yeah I just decided tonight I wanted to play the whole thing’ OR SOMETHING LIKE THAT I’M SO ANNOYED I CAN’T REMEMBER EXACTLY. HER VOCALS WERE SO ON POINT I WAS JUST AIOJDSHJFDS and the guys doing the filming for the rumoured Tour DVD came over and filmed us so much and we were flailing, crying, screaming, thrashing and dying so I wonder how we’ll look if we end up on the DVD… I was honestly scared for everyone around us.

Now for the bit you’ve all been waiting for… LOFT 89. So the security would not let us out of the section because they needed to let out other people first and Kealie and I were panicking because we were worried we would miss the admin stuff where they told us the rules and led us to the room.
It was a good 10 minutes (and felt like hours to be honest) before we could leave our section. My friends Anna and Connie came over and said hi (they were on the floor) and then I showed our Loft pass and we all freaked out (I wish I could’ve taken them with me because they so deserved it). Finally we were let out of our section (carrying around 7 bags of merch between us) and we literally ran across the stadium floor and there were heaps of people staring and I could hear them saying 'oh my god they got it!’. Heaps of people were congratulating us and being super nice, it was crazy. We found two other girls (Chloe and ___ who had amazing costumes. They are the nicest people ever and really deserved to meet Taylor, which made me so happy they got Loft ahhhh). We asked security where section 130 was (which was the section the pass said to go to) and this lady took us to the section. We told her we got Loft 89 and were going to meet Taylor and she was so happy and excited for us. She also gave Chloe her number and told her to text her- not really sure why, but the lady was so nice and ahh.
We were waiting in the seats of the section but then found out everyone was waiting outside of the section in the corridors of the stadium. So we went there and security, Taylor Nation (including the lady that gave us the pass who I believe was Ali) and everyone else who had gotten Loft. There was only one group, a middle aged couple, who weren’t dressed up and got Loft. Everyone else was dressed up with lights and everything and their costumes were AMAZING. We were all talking and freaking out. WE WERE ABOUT TO MEET TAYLOR SWIFT.
Soon, we all walked back into the main stadium and sat down in a section. An iPad was passed around and we all had to fill out a survey thing with our name, phone number, gender, country and birthday. Then Ali told us all the rules: we were not allowed to take any videos, but could takes as many photos in Loft as we wanted until Taylor came. We could get one photo per group and we would get a pre-signed photo. So we weren’t able to get any personal signed things.
Then we all got up to walk to Loft 89. I was legitimately walking to a room where I WOULD BE MEETING MY IDOL OF SEVNE YEARS, TAYLOR ALISON SWIFT. We didn’t walk that far, just up some stairs and then 100m down another corridor. They had set up the room and the walls were made out of curtains. It was a lot smaller than I had imagined. When we walked in, to the left they had a table with cookies and pizza. There was also a big bucket next to the table filled with water and coke and diet coke cans. Next to the main table with cookies and pizza there was a bar-table with bottles of water on it. Then at the back of the room they had set up 3 couches with a coffee table in the middle. Then on the right wall there was another bar table with stools. They had a sectioned off another little separate room and later on we would line up to go into that room to meet Taylor. We all chilled and talked, I ate a cookie but then I was too jittery and nervous to eat anymore. I took lots of photos on my camera of the room (and they mostly turned out blurry from my hand shaking too much from excitement, nervousness and AFDSUK-ness). I took a coke can & a water bottle from the table and then we took group photos of everyone in Loft on polaroid cameras & people’s phones. We fixed the batteries in our lights and then tried to make our faces less red and hair more presentable but as you can see in the photo my face is red from crying and my hair is not great (especially next to Taylor’s EXTREMELY ON FLEEK EYELINER AND HAIR).
Then we were asked to line up in groups to go into the sectioned off room to meet TAYLOR ALISON SWIFT. We all lined up and it was just IUHJFSS I COULDN’T BELIEVE IT WAS HAPPENING.
THEN ANDREA WALKED IN. THE REAL MAMA SWIFT WAS STANDING IN FRONT OF ME. She said hi to everyone and gave us all hugs. She complimented everyone’s costumes and said she loved our guitars and tutus. Kealie said 'it’s so amazing seeing you in real life and not on tumblr you’re so beautiful’ and then Andrea said me and Kealie were beautiful and WE DIED. DEAD. RIP ME. I WAS TOO IN SHOCK TO TALK PROPERLY BUT MAMA SWIFT IS SO NICE, LOVELY, FUNNY, ADORABLE, SWEET AND KIND AND BEAUTIFUL AND I JUST ERSHJDFIDOGUHRJFKD. Kealie was lucky enough to get a selfie with her- my phone had died by that point and I had put down my vlogging camera somewhere and couldn’t find it. We took photos with her and she was just SO SO SO LOVELY I WANTED TO DIE.
Then. It. Was. Time.
There were 7 groups and Aidan who was by himself (who had a jacket just like Taylor’s one in Welcome to New York!!) altogether. I think we were the third group to go in. While lining up to go into the little room to meet her I could see Taylor through the crack in the curtain and suddenly I was hit with the realisation that my IDOL OF SEVEN YEARS who’s music I had grown up with. I had watched her blossom from a beautiful teenage girl to a beautiful young woman. I had watch her go from the Fearless Tour to her sold out 76,000 strong stadium show at ANZ Stadium on the 1989 World Tour. She had inspired me and shaped the life it was today.
Taylor is the reason I had embarked on my journey to become someone in the music industry- playing hundreds of gigs over my lifetime. In fact, the night before the show I had won a $4000 prize back at the Lift Off Youth Music competition to produce an EP. Taylor has been with me through good times and bad, and I am just so thankful to have her in my life. I love Taylor Swift.
And after seven years of dreaming of this moment, growing from a little girl singing into her hairbrush to Love Story to a teenager finally letting go of the past with Innocent, Clean and Shake It Off on repeat, it was happening. I was going to get to meet the girl who had unknowingly put my little pieces back together. I was meeting Taylor Alison Swift.
I had planned what I was going to say to her but the second I walked into the room I was wonderstruck by her beauty and grace. She said 'HEYYY GIRLS!’ greeted us with the warmest smile and reached out her arms to hug us. The minute I embraced her everything in my life felt just right. And to top it off, I got to be with my idol, queen, Aunt, role model and inspiration with my best friend Kealie.
Taylor was so graceful, incredible, amazing, beautiful and smelt so good. Her smile could light up the whole town and she made me feel so loved and special. She complimented our guitars and we talked about our costumes. I told her we did a lot of hot glue gunning and probably got lots of hot glue gun scars. Taylor laughed and then pointed to the scar on her leg. Kealie said 'YOU’RE NOT A ROBOT’ and Taylor did this adorable little robot dance like she does in Shake It Off. I told her the music shop I go to donated real strings to put on my sign prop guitar and she said 'tell them thank you!!’ and she looked at the strings and said 'you even put them in the right order’. We told her Kealie had stuck on all 9000 diamantes onto her guitar and Taylor was amazed. She also pointed out our pegs and polaroids. I then asked her about her ankle brace and she said it’s been painful for a while but if she ices it it’s usually okay and we said we hoped it gets better soon. Then we took photos and because Kealie is tall she leaned her head on Taylor’s shoulder. I was too short *cries* (I’m joking) and Taylor put her hand on my shoulder and I lost it. We took the photo (the Taylor Nation lady took two and I’m not sure why but AHHHHH IT WAS SO COOL) then it was time to go. We told Taylor we loved her and I thank you for being with me for 7 years and for everything and how I remember the album livestreams and she said 'thank you for paying attention to all that!’ and I said of course I would (not sure why). Then she said 'I love you!’ and we DIED. I HAD JUST MET TAYLOR ALISON SWIFT. AFTER SO LONG OF THINKING ABOUT THE SCENARIO IN MY HEAD. REUFSDNMLKERNMDSKRGNMF,SDHJERBG NMFD I EFSCIXUH WAS HOW I WAS FEELING WHEN I WALKED OUT. I WAS PRACTICALLY SCREAMING. The Taylor Nation lady handed Kealie the two signed photos and then I just OEUFSM,ZX.
Then the security said we had to go but we had left bags in the main Loft room as we weren’t allowed to take anything into the room Taylor was in except Kealie’s phone (because that was what we were taking the photos with). So we went back in, sorted out our bags and then I took one last look around the room. I had just met Taylor Alison Swift. Out of 76,000 people I was one of 21 people chosen to meet Taylor. There was a 0.027% chance (I calculated it) of getting chosen for Loft 89 to meet Taylor and for some crazy and amazing reason during our thrashing, screaming, dying, scringing (sing-screaming), dancing, sign waving, my best friend and I were picked out of the crowd and had wristbands put around our wrists and handed a Loft 89 pass.
I will be forever grateful for the experience. Thank you to everyone who made the day possible: stadium staff, tour staff, managers, cleaners, people who set up the stage, sound guys, dancers, the band and backup singers, Taylor Nation, the Novotel staff, Taylor’s family and friends, my parents, Kealie’s parents, whoever made and sold our tutus, cardboard, lights and hot glue, security and most importantly Taylor herself. Thank you, thank you, thank you. (I may have missed someone but I will add them in as I think of them). It honestly doesn’t feel real that this happened.
To Taylor: I love you so much. Thank you for everything. Thank you for inspiring me to embark on my journey to become someone in the music industry when I was just nine years old. Thank you for writing beautiful lyrics that have taught me so many lessons. Thank you for going on tour. Thank you for helping me through all the bad times. Thank you for always being there for me. Thank you for being the soundtrack to my life. Thank you for being a light in my life. Thank you, thank you, thank you. I love you.
