we can do it right

Miss You lyrics

Is it my imagination?
Is it something that I’m taking?
All the smiles that I’m faking
Everything is great
Everything is fucking great

Going out in the weekend
Staring at the stars or the ceiling
Hollywood friends got to see them
Such a good time
I believe it this time

Tuesday night
Glazed-over eyes
Just one more pint or five
Does it even matter anyway?

We’re dancing on tables
Till I’m off my face
With all of my people
And it couldn’t get better than this

We’re singing till last chorus
And it’s all out of tune
Should be laughing, but there’s something wrong
And it hits you when the lights go on
Shit, maybe I miss you

Just like that and I’m sober
I’m asking myself «Is it over?»
Maybe I was lying when I told you
Everything is great
Everything is fucking great

And all of these thoughts and feelings
Doesn’t matter if you don’t need them
I’ve been checking my phone all evening
Such a good time
I believe it this time

Tuesday night
Glazed-over eyes
Just one more pint or five
Does it even matter anyway?

We’re dancing on tables
Till I’m off my face
With all of my people
And it couldn’t get better than this

We’re singing till last chorus
And it’s all out of tune
Should be laughing, but there’s something wrong
And it hits you when the lights go on
Shit, maybe I miss you

Now I’m asking my friends if I should say I’m sorry
They say “Lad, give it time, there’s no need to worry”
I can’t even speak to you on the phone now
I can’t even be with you alone now
Oh how shit’s changing
We were in love
Now we’re strangers
When I feel it coming on I just throw that shit away
Get another two shots in
It doesn’t matter anyway

We’re dancing on tables
Till I’m off my face
With all of my people
And it couldn’t get better than this

We’re singing till last chorus
And it’s all out of tune
Should be laughing, but there’s something wrong
And it hits you when the lights go on

We’re dancing on tables
Till I’m off my face
With all of my people
And it couldn’t get better than this

We’re singing till last chorus
And it’s all out of tune
Should be laughing, but there’s something wrong
And it hits you when the lights go on

Shit, maybe I miss you

Unconscious bias—whether it’s targeting race, religion, sexuality, ability, body type, or the mountain of other ways in which we judge each other—does not necessarily stem from active hate, and is not as easy to spot within our friends and ourselves. But it impacts our communities every single day. So we need to do a better job acknowledging it.

We can start by taking this Harvard Implicit Bias Test. The most responsible thing we can do right now is recognize ways to improve ourselves.

This Issue Time features a panel of experts answering your questions and addressing your concerns on Implicit bias.

please don’t publicize the death anniversary of taehyung’s grandma. meaning: please don’t trend hashtags, organize events, or tweet him. this is strictly an issue between taehyung and his family. we are his fans and we need to stay behind our boundaries. this is a very sensitive topic for him and we need to respect that. we never knew his grandmother and we have no right to involve ourselves into something so intimate and private. please remember that again, we are his fans and it was a privilege to have taehyung so openly confess the death of his loved one and share his feelings at the 3rd army muster in addition to already sharing so many of his memories through fancafe. let’s not abuse that and get carried away with ourselves. please remember that social media platforms are PUBLIC, that us making posts about this issue is entirely disrespectful in itself, and that it also opens it to the general people. as in something that is supposed to be kept a strictly-family event can be seen by hundreds of thousands of people and some of those people may want to defile anything involving taehyung and his loved ones. i get that the intentions may be good- but we have to keep in mind that we don’t have this right and that the most respectful thing we can do right now is stay in our place. thank you.

appreciated

No but can we talk about Draco doing something right for a sec?

Because we all know Lucius wasn’t the most affectionate dad (I’m not saying he didn’t love Draco, just that he wasn’t very warm or open about said love) and of course he still had his mom, but I think there’s a reason why Draco keeps telling people his father will hear about it.

His father probably played a much bigger role in his childhood years than his mom. (You can’t blame Lucius being Draco’s go-to person because of sexism because we all know Narcissa is a strong as heck, bad-ass witch. I’d be more scared of her than Lucius)

So, just like Harry, as a kid Draco wasn’t told very often that he was doing something right. And as a teenager he was an asshole and didn’t actually do many things right.

But after that, after the war, when Draco is so confused and loaded down with guilt, when people still send him hexes and hostile stares, when he’s trying so hard to find himself amidst the trauma’s and the prejudice that fills his mind, when everything is so complicated and hard and Draco feels like he can’t take it anymore

Imagine his reaction then, when someone tells him he’s doing a good job.

When Harry is struggling with his potion essays and Draco sits down with him in the library and talks him through all the steps for hours

When a muggle born Hufflepuff first year asks him where the charms classroom is and he walks her all the way to the door, making himself late for his own class.

When Millicent gets frustrated by everyone assuming she was part of the pure blood racist club too while she is in fact a half blood who silently rebelled against the death eaters in her seventh year, and Draco makes her and some fellow snakes badges that read Slytherin Hero.

Imagine the disbelief on his face when Harry tells him Thank you. That was actually pretty nice of you.

Imagine how flustered he’d be when the Hufflepuff gives him a quick hug just before popping into the charms classroom.

Imagine the clasped hand over his mouth when he sees the badge Millicent made him as thank you gift. Not a Slytherin villain, it reads.

And then imagine the tentative smile that follows all of the above.

I wish you would write a fic where: Ransom is a team physician and Holster is a referee. (They first met on the ice during a particularly physical Aces v. Falcs game?)

Justin Oluransi, MD, has a complicated relationship with his job. One one level, he loves it. There’s something so pure about the rush of adrenaline when he has to run onto the ice and assess a situation. He loves hockey and he loves helping people, and being the team physician for the Providence Falconers allows him to do both. There’s just one part of his job that he hates: he’s only called in when something terrible happens. Fighting is expected - he’s sewn up more busted lips and tracked down more teeth than he can count - but injuries are always horrible to witness.

As much as Justin loves his job it’s never fun to see a player go down, especially now that he’s gotten to know the Falconers individually. It had been a little easier to watch them go down when he was still terrified to speak to them for fear of embarrassing himself (in his first conversation with Tater all he’d managed to say was hello and goodbye), but now that he counts them as friends instead of colleagues every time he rushes onto the ice there’s a heavy dread sitting in the pit of his stomach.

Justin’s particularly busy whenever the Aces come to town. He’s not sure what it is about the Aces and Falconers, but guys who aren’t at all prone to fighting tend to end up in the worst scrapes of all whenever their paths cross. It’s so bad that he’s kept even closer to the ice than usual, tucked almost on the bench itself instead of back in the halls underneath the stands. It’s only because of this vantage point that he sees him.

“Oh, poor Stiles, you didn’t know? You’re an emissary, just like your mother. She was the greatest and strongest emissary in generations and her powers are what killed her. And they’re what’s going to kill you too.”

Beacon Hills is in great danger when a large number of all kind of supernatural creatures are being drawn by the Nemeton, an ancient sacred magic tree extremely powerful used by Druids for various rituals and capable of intensifying the powers of those who offer a sacrifice. When they find out about the threat, Stiles and his friends comes up with a plan to defeat the bad guys. Meanwhile, he discovers he has the potential to become an emissary. He is willing to do anything to keep everyone save, even try to drain the Nemeton’s power himself. He just didn’t know that his alpha was Derek Hale and that by doing that, his powers would merge with the Nemeton’s power and put him in a great risk. He was going to die because of it.

“I’m just trying to find a way to help my friends, how can I do that? How can I become an Emissary?”

“First you need to learn about magic and practice. Then, you need to join your forces with an alpha to channel your powers. It’s about balance.”

“Why?”

“The bond between a werewolf and his pack is strong. But the connection between an alpha and his emissary is stronger, it’s inexplicable… Unbreakable.”

“It’s like an anchor?”

“Yeah. You could call it that. Trust him and believe in him and in yourself. All you have to do is believe.”

“What can we do to save Stiles?”

“Right now? Pray for that power to not consume him just like it consumed his mother.”

things i’ve been considering lately:

2, yakov driving victor to the airport.  he looks happy.  he looks like the first time yakov drove him home from the airport, after the summer he spent at yakov’s summer camp fourteen years ago and yakov couldn’t send him away for good, couldn’t let him live in the dormitories or half way across the country, because yakov could see in his rawest, most earnest movements that he was the future of something.  victor has to have the chair all the way back, and he has his dog drooling over his shoulder from the back seat now.  when victor was thirteen, he was young with shoulder-length hair and beat-up sneakers on yakov’s dashboard, a late tooth punched out in his smile and sunken, feminine shoulders.  he’s gone from that to a monster to something undefinable, something uncontrollable and sad and hungry in the way that someone might describe the deepest parts of the ocean or a black hole.

tonight, with a one way ticket to japan on his phone, he looks like he did fourteen years ago.

5. victor wants to kiss him so, so, so bad.  yuuri lets him touch him now.  yuuri lets victor lean on him and wrap his arms around him and lets victor sink his hands into the back pockets of his jeans when they’re walking together down the street like it’s nothing.  there are so many moments when yuuri looks at him and he wonders now? is this right? do we? can i?

6. it isn’t a matter of can we, but a matter of when we, victor decides, saturated up to his eyeballs with whiskey sours.  i’m gonna kiss you, and when i do i’m not going to stop, i’m going to kiss you for a million years.

7. “you,” yuuri says.  they’re standing in the elevator, free from the press and the fans and their fellow skaters and sponsors and the world. it’s the first time since they were in a parking garage where everything above them echoed too loud that they’ve found themselves alone.

“what about me?” victor asks, humor lifting his voice.  they’re leaning against opposite walls.  the walls are mirrored and yuuri looks at him from an angle, his face reflecting on either side of them on and on forever.  victor could chase his silhouette until he went blind.

yuuri curls in on himself, shy, like an anemone.

(victor has always liked the sea.  victor loves anemones.  he is always gentle when he watches them, catches his fingers on their tendrils as they tuck themselves away.)

they reach their floor.  something lingers between them heavy and unspoken and exciting that victor hasn’t felt in years, hasn’t felt in a decade or more.  yuuri moves to walk past him and out, but stops instead, foot on the metallic threshold and he presses victor into the rows of buttons for a kiss.

“i can’t believe you,” he says. he sounds in awe. “i’ve been waiting for this for years.”
