Run. You were running as fast as you could, the sound of running engines behind you.

Only minutes ago you laid in a room with Teresa with doctors on the floor around you. You were woken up by Newt, his hand squeezing yours. You had opened your eyes slowly and looked around you. The doctors lay on the ground, out cold, and Thomas and Minho were holding the door.

“Wake up, love, ” he said. You groaned and slowly opened your eyes. “What did they do to you?”

“What’s going on?” you asked. Newt opened his mouth to answer, but Thomas interrupted him.

“We really have to go now,” Thomas said.

“guys they’re coming, where do we go?” you heard frypan say. the next moment Thomas kicked a table to the ground and pushed it in front of the door, blocking the door.
Newt held your lower arms steady so you could get up, and you stood up.
The guards were throwing themselves at the door, and Minho -with a gun- said you needed to get out of there. You were standing behind Newt, looking over his shoulder.

“Stand back!” you heard Thomas shout behind you, and then he threw a chair at the window. It didn’t break the glass, so Newt jumped in. Together they tried it again, and this time the glass shattered in a million pieces. Teresa laid a blanket on the glass for safety, and Thomas helped her get to the other side. Frypan went behind her, and then you. You felt Newt’s hand on your lower back.

“Come on,” he said, and you climbed to the other side, followed by him. Minho threw the gun to Thomas -which he caught perfectly- and Thomas opened the door. Behind the door stood a guard, and he stood right in front of Thomas. Thomas reacted immediately and pulled the trigger, making the guard slam to the ground. Lightning appeared in front of him and screeches left his mouth. Thomas watched mouth opened but moved after a few moments.
Newt slightly pushed you through the door into the hallway, behind Teresa and Frypan.
Though you still had woken up, you ran as fast as you could. The adrenaline rushed through your veins and your heart pumped fast.

After you escaped and ran into darkness, Teresa found an abandoned building, and you went inside. Newt was in front of you, and you went after him. You stumbled down the sand and lost your balance, but you felt arms on your waist before you touched the ground. You looked behind you and found the beautiful eyes from Newt. A warm feeling grew in your stomach but disappeared when you looked around you.

Minho turned on a flashlight so you guys could see what was around you.

“Where the hell are we?” he asked out loud.

“We gotta go-” Thomas responded,

“No- Thomas stop,” Teresa said, ”tell me what’s going on”

You stepped forward, leaving Newt’s embrace. “I would like to know either”

“It’s W.I.C.K.E.D. It’s always been W.I.C.K.E.D, they lied to us when we escaped” He said. All your hope inside disappeared, and tears formed in your eyes. And when Thomas started to talk about bodies, you lost it.
You finally felt safe. You finally thought everything would be over. And now, everything was a lie.

“There is something inside us that W.I.C.K.E.D wants.” you breathed heavily, and you leaned on your knees. You felt a hand on your back and recognized it as Newts. He looked at you with concerned eyes, and you nodded to let him know you were okay. But inside, you weren’t.

“We have to get away from them as far as possible” Thomas stated.

“Okay,” newt sighed, ”So what’s the plan?” But Thomas stayed silent. After a moment, you hold your breath.

“You do have a plan right?” you asked Thomas.

“We followed you out here Thomas and now you’re saying that you have no idea where we’re going or what we’re doing?” Newt said. You turned around and held your hand through your hair.

“Wait” you heard. You turned around and looked at the new kid -Aris was his name you believed.
“Jensen said something about people hiding in the mountains. Some kind of resistance or army-”

“The right arm,” Thomas said, “If they really are against W.I.C.K.E.D then-”

“Maybe they can help us,” you said. Newt looked at you, first with a face full of disbelief. But if Thomas and Aris were right, you guys found help. Maybe even a new home. And this thought gave you hope. Just a little bit, but enough to agree with the plan. And Newt sees this in your eyes. His face softened and nodded to Thomas.

“Minho give me a light,” Winston said. You walked to him and sat next to him. He pointed at footsteps in the sand, going deeper into the building.

“Someone’s been down here”

Further in de building, you found clothes and more flashlights.

“Looks like people lived here,” You said, picking up a jacket from the ground.

“But where are they know?” Newt responded, looking at you.

“Let’s pick some of this stuff up, anything you might need. We’ll split up, see what else we can find.” Thomas said. These words made you feel uncomfortable. The place was pretty scary, why would you split up? You stood next to Newt, and you hoped you might stay in this room. You certainly didn’t want to be alone in here, and you even preferred to be with Newt.

From the beginning, you and Newt had a connection. Your eyes always searched for his in a crowd, and you felt safe when he was around. Together you were a power couple, you completed each other. And whatever they tried, W.I.C.K.E.D could not separate the two of you.

Minho and Thomas were about to leave before they turned around, looking at you. “Are you coming (Y/N)?” Minho said. You gave Newt a reassuring look before you went to join them.

Definitely, something bad happened to the big building, it was ruined. You walked past many stores, so you guessed it was supposed to be a mall.
Eventually, you ended up in a big pit, with loads of stuff.

“What are we looking for?” you asked, searching for something useful.

“Signs of life” Thomas answered. “People, survivors, anyone who can help us”

You walked further and slowly let your flashlight scan the big piles of stuff. You looked up and saw a dead body. You started and almost fell.

“Does he count?” you asked, breathing heavily.

“Guys look at this!” You heard Minho say. You walked over to him and saw a big machine. It was probably a generator, and it looked still intact.

“This looks promising,” he said. Minho pressed a few buttons before the machine started rambling. It began rambling, and it was louder than you expected.

“Minho wait!” Thomas said, but it was too late. Lights spread over the whole building went on, and it was not what you expected. If there was still someone there, they know you were there too.

Minho was wearing a big smile, but it disappeared immediately when he looked over at Thomas.

“Thomas look out!” he yelled before a creature appeared behind a fence. It screamed, and Thomas almost fell over. You scared and you moved backward.

The creature looked like a human, but all of her veins were black and so were her eyes. She screamed at you three and she looked as if she was ready to eat you all alive. Behind you, another creature showed up. It walked towards you bit Minho grabbed a big stick and slammed the creature to the ground.

“What the hell are they?” Minho yelled.

“I don’t care, run!” you cried out. You ran as hard as you could, followed by Minho and Thomas. You ran on an escalator to the level where the others were, yelling at them.

“Run!” you yelled as hard as you could, hoping they would. Eventually, they came in sight, and you three screamed even harder. But only when the creatures came around the corner, they started running. You quickly caught up to them and you grabbed Newt’s arm.

You ran on another escalator, and when you wanted to go on another, another creature showed up. Aris ran forward with a pipe and hit him on his legs, what made the creature fall. You ran to the next floor, still running away from those monsters. You thought you were far ahead of them, but then out of nowhere a creature broke through the glass and attacked Newt. He fell to the ground, and the group stopped. You ran towards him, screaming.

“Newt!” you screamed, and you kicked the creature from him. You helped him get up and hold his face for a moment.

“Are you okay?” you asked concerned. He looked into your eyes and nodded.

“Yeah- come on run!” he said when he looked behind you. The others were running towards you, fast. He grabbed your hand, and you ran into a small hallway. You ran into multiple closed doors, and when you came to the end there was nowhere to go. Minho and Thomas kicked against big doors, while you grabbed Winston’s gun.

“I will hold them off!” you said, turning around. You held the gun in front of you and pulled the trigger multiple times. You shot many of them, but some still managed to avoid your bullets. They came closer and closer, and the door was still not open. But after a few seconds, the door opened and everyone went inside.

“(Y/N) come on!” Newt said, and he grabbed your arm. He turned you around and pulled you with him, but one creature was too close. It grabbed your leg and pulled you backward, what made you fall. Newt grabbed your upper body and pulled hard, joined by Winston. The creature was about to take a bite from your leg, but you kicked it in the face with your other foot. You flew into the air thanks to Newt and Winston and got on your legs. You ran behind Teresa and Frypan with Newt by your side, holding your hand.

You came into a parking lot, and you found cover under a concrete shelf. You put out all your flashlights and hoped that the creatures would not see you. You closed your eyes until Newt laid his arm on your shoulder. You rested your head on his chest, hoping this nightmare would end soon.

The next morning, you woke up when Thomas was scaring a bird away. Nice. Not that you slept well after last night’s events, but okay. You found your head on Newt’s chest and sat up slowly. Newt was already awake and watching you. Thomas stood up and you looked at him.

“They’re gone,” he said, and you took a breath. “We’re safe for now, but let’s keep moving”
You slowly packed some stuff and stood up. But after a moment, you fell down again.

“Woah, what’s up?” Frypan asked, and you groaned. You pulled away a part of your pants to reveal your ankle, and it didn’t look good. Your veins were black on a small part of your ankle, but it looked like it was spreading.

“What happened?” asked Newt concerned, before he bent down to look at your wound, “I thought it didn’t bite you”

“It didn’t, “ you said.

“Maybe it affected you by scratch?” Winston said. You put your eyes, why did this have to happen to you? You tried to stand up again, but your foot just couldn’t handle your weight. You fell in Newt’s arm, and he put his arm around your waist.

“Hey, relax,” he said, “Let’s see if you can walk” You put your arm around his shoulders, and tried to lean on your other ankle. You moved forward, but slowly.

“I can walk, but I’m just holding you up… ” you said. You were scared, scared that you were being chased again and then you would be dead. You were just holding up the others, you knew that.

“So what? (Y/N) I’m not leaving you here” Newt said. You smiled at him, at his adorable eyes, and you were once again surprised by his kindness.

“No, I’m sure we can figure something out.”

“If we make a stretcher, we can carry her” Teresa suggested.

“Guys-” you tried.

“Let’s do that” Newt said firmly. You sighed but agreed. Everyone was searching for materials to make a stretcher, and you sat there, useless. You hated being useless, you wanted to help. But you knew that you could not, because of your ankle.
You looked at the fallen city in front of you. It was a spectacular view, even when the city wasn’t really pretty. Suddenly the view became even prettier when Newt stood in front of you.

“are you okay?” he asked while sitting down.

“Next to being useless? Yeah fine” you said.

“It’s not your fault, you know that right?”

“I don’t actually. Newt I’m scared” you confessed, and you grabbed his hand. He looked at you with his beautiful eyes, and for a moment it was just you two. “What if those zombies come again, and I’m just holding you up? I can never ask you to not give me up, and I want you to leave me. I’m helpless anyway-”

“You are not helpless,” he said, while he took your face into his hands. He wiped away a tear you hadn’t noticed and looked at you. “And you are not holding us up. This is not your fault, and (Y/N), I would never leave you.”

“Never,” he said, and you stared at him. How could someone be so sweet and caring? He was always there for you, and you loved him for that. Yes, you loved him. That moment, when his face was so close to yours, you realized it. His smile always light up your day. His words make your world fall apart, in a good way. He made you blush, just by looking at you.
You were staring at him, at the boy you loved. And for once second, you saw his eyes flicker to your lips. You slowly moved your face forwards, and so did he. When your face was so close to his that you felt his hot breath linger on your lips, you kissed him.

Your lips crashed into his, creating an explosion. For a moment, you felt no fear. You felt home. You felt love inside you, for the boy you were kissing.

When you slowly pulled away for air, you missed his lips already. You opened your eyes slowly and saw Newt grinning in front of you. You smiled.

“Thank you,” you said, and he pulled you into a hug.

“Never a problem, love”

Three Little Words - Newt

It’s crazy what one certain British boy could do to your brain. I could’ve sworn I wasn’t the type to dislike another girl just because she got his attention without even trying versus me trying and constantly failing and ending up as a rambling, awkward mess.

Teresa and I were the only girls in this bloody Glade. I came here before her. Newt and I were best friends, but now…

Now it was like we were complete strangers.

I crossed my arms when I caught sight of the duo, watching them from afar. Thomas walked up to me and followed my gaze.

“You know, it might be cute if it wasn’t so…”

“Disgusting,” I completed.

Thomas understood how I felt about the situation because he was feeling the same way, but not about Newt (no matter how much I joked about that when he came up). He had the biggest crush on Teresa.

“Teresa’s a lucky girl. For having you like her and for having Newt,” I assured him, turning away from the couple and patting his shoulder.

“Newt’s a lucky guy. For having you like him and for having Teresa,” Thomas replied.

“We don’t need them, right? I mean, we are awesome people,” I muttered.

“We should totally get over them, right?”

“That would be the healthy thing to do,” Thomas murmured as we both looked at them again for another split second.

“We should go,” I murmured, beginning to walk away. Thomas reluctantly followed. “I mean… I’m happy for them. They’re happy together,” I lied, making Thomas burst out into laughter, kneeling onto the ground. I widened my eyes at the hysterical boy, looking around. “Thomas, get up! That wasn’t funny!” I scolded, a smile of my own forming.

“I can’t help it. You’re just a terrible liar!” He laughed.

“Slim it! Get up! We have work!” I hissed, trying to pull him up, but that only made him laugh harder.

“Hey, Thomas,” Teresa greeted, only giving me a look as a greeting. I rolled my eyes.

Yeah, she didn’t like me all that much either, but I could never see why. She had Newt. There wasn’t any competition. Even then, I refused to compete for Newt. Newt was a human being who could make his own decisions.

Back to the point, Thomas immediately shut up at her greeting and stood up.

“Hi, Teresa,” he replied.

“I don’t think my eyes roll that far back,” I muttered.

“Yeah?” I asked.

“Slim it,” he said through gritted teeth.

“Slim it,” I mocked, my voice higher, with more of a nasal tone.

“Stop!” He yelled.

“Stop!” I repeated, making him roll his eyes.

“Anyways, Thomas, we should go,” Teresa said.

“Go where?” I asked, raising an eyebrow.

“We have work,” Teresa said through gritted teeth.

“Work? You guys don’t even have the same—” I began when Thomas nudged me, shooting me a glare. “What happened to being healthy?” I grumbled.

“Healthy’s boring. Don’t you have work, Y/N?” He asked while walking away with the girl. I glared at him and sighed

“Healthy’s boring. Don’t you have work?” I mocked quietly, walking to the medhut.

“Hey, Y/N,” Newt greeted, catching up to me.

“Hi,” I greeted softly.

“I need your help,” he said, making me stop walking. I knew already from the look he was giving me, it wasn’t going to be good. His brown eyes screamed ‘worry’ so loud, you could hear it from Pluto. His hands were clasped behind his back and he was biting his lip. I sighed.

“Sure. What is it?” I asked.

“I need you to tell me how a guy would tell a girl that he liked her,” he said, reluctantly. I gulped. “I mean… you’re my best friend, and you’re a girl, so I thought you’d know,” he defended. I shook my head.

“Yeah, you don’t have to explain, I got it,” I tried keeping my voice as steady and as composed as possible. He was going to tell Teresa he liked her.

He was going to tell Teresa he liked her.

“Well,” I cleared my throat. “Newt, if they really like you, you don’t have to go anything big. Just tell them. Say it. That’s… If they like you, that’s the biggest thing you could do. You’d make their day. Just… you know… three words that she’d want to hear.”

“I don’t know if she wants to hear them, though,” he muttered. I shook my head and put my hand on his shoulder.

“Newt, any girl would be so lucky to have you,” I whispered. “Just three words.”

“I like you,” he said softly. I nodded, trying to stop tears from building in my eyes.

“Yeah,” I croaked, “Just like that… That’s perfect… Now, go tell her,” I chuckled nervously before walking away.

That’s how I ended up in the medhut, fidgeting with a pencil as I looked outside. I saw Newt and Teresa laughing, walking around.

He must’ve already told her. They’re so happy… She makes him so happy, I thought, Happier than I could ever make him, I completed.

Still, I wish it was me. I wish those three words were meant for me. God, she was so lucky—luckier than she probably knew—just to be around him.

The pencil in my hand snapped in half, making a scratch on the inside of my hand.

“Shuck,” I grumbled, standing up to get some gauze.

“Wow, somebody’s mad,” Thomas entered the hut.

“Really? I couldn’t tell,” I hissed, sitting down as I began cleaning the scratch on my hand.

“What happened?” Thomas asked, sitting across from me and taking the medical kit and helping me with my hand.

“Newt happened. What else?” Thomas rose his eyebrow, urging me to give him more information. “He asked me about how he should tell Teresa he likes her.”

“No. Way,” Thomas muttered. I nodded. “He asked you how he should confess to Teresa?”

“He said ‘I need you to tell me how a guy would tell a girl he liked her’.”

“Maybe he was talking about you?” Thomas tried. I rolled my eyes and gave him a look. “Right. Okay. Got it. So not okay?”

“Most definitely not okay.”

“What’s not okay?” A familiar voice asked, walking into the medhut. I covered my face with my hair. “What happened to your hand?”

“A tree. A shucking tree was chopped and made into a shucking flimsy pencil,” I answered through gritted teeth, making Thomas snicker as he finished helping me. I began to clean up.

“Y/N, can I talk to you?” Newt asked.

“Well, seeing as you already are—” I began to retort, but he cut me off.

“Alone,” he added to his previous statement. I sighed, looking down a bit before looking at Thomas, who eyed me concernedly. I was still Newt’s friend. I couldn’t just let my petty little feelings get in the way of that. I gulped, looking at Newt.

“Okay. Fine,” I turned around, organizing the shelves for what was probably the 5th time today.

“I’ll leave you to it,” Thomas said, walking out. When he had left, the room was filled with an awkward silence, only the objects I was moving were making any sort of noise.

“Y/N?” Newt asked, breaking the silence.

“Mhm?” I hummed.

“Why won’t you look at me?” He asked. I sighed, looking down as I turned around to look at him.

“Here. I’m looking at you. Is that all you wanted?” I asked.

“Y/N, please… talk to me,” he muttered.

“Talk to you? About what, Newt?” I shrugged.

“Anything,” he pleaded.

“Anything? Really?” I asked, incredulously. “Trust me, you don’t want to know what’s on my mind right now,” I whispered.

What was on my mind was how hard this was. How much this was hurting me. This was my best friend—is my best friend and it’s like we’re complete strangers.

“You don’t know that,” he argued.

“No, trust me. I do,” I nodded.

“Because it’ll only cause you trouble,” I answered, not skipping a beat.

“How so?” He asked, trying to get me to say more. I shook my head in response, walking past him to get more stuff for the new organization system I have going on.

“Would you just go back to your girlfriend?” I muttered.

“What?” He asked incredulously.

“I’m assuming you told her, right?” I shrugged. “I mean, she obviously likes you too. And besides, you know, like I said, any girl would be lucky to have you, Newt.”

“Wh… H… What?”

“You don’t have to explain yourself to me, Newt. I mean I get it. She’s pretty, and I bet she’s smart. She’s probably really funny and optimistic, you know a few things I’m not out of the list of everything I’m not,” I shook my head, trying to get rid of my tears as I kept organizing. Kept filing.

“Tell me you’re kidding,” Newt scoffed.

“I told you you wouldn’t want to know what’s on my mind,” I muttered. “It’ll only cause you trouble, I said,” I chuckled bitterly. I grabbed a roll of gauze and was about to put it on the shelf when Newt grabbed my wrist, making me look at his hand.

“You’re nuts,” he whispered.

“Gee, thanks. You really know how to make a girl feel like something,” I retorted. “Really, being crazy is all I’ve ever wanted to hea—” Newt pulled me into a kiss, wrapping his arms around my waist. I pulled away. “I’m confused,” I whispered.

“Yeah, well, that’s what you get for overthinking again, slinthead. I wasn’t talking about Teresa. When I said ‘I like you’ I was saying it to you.” I gulped.

“Hang on! That’s not my fault! That was terrible timing! Context clues and—” He interrupted me with a kiss again, making me wrap my arms around his neck. He pulled away from me, his brown eyes staying into mine.

“As much as I love the sound of your voice, it’s not the time to criticize my strategical skills,” he grinned. I smiled, shaking my head.

“No? It wasn’t?” He shook his head.

“No,” he chuckled

“Then what was it time for?” I rose my eyebrows

“For you to kiss me.”

So I did.

***Sleepover Continued***
I saw this idea from another writer

“What’s it called?” One of the Gladers asks. Teresa had suggested that we play a game since they were staying all night anyway.

“Never have I ever.” Teresa repeats.

“Someone starts their sentence with ‘never have I ever’ and then they describe something and if you have done it you have to drink.” You explain.

“I’ll start.” Newt volunteers. “Never have I ever,” He flashes a bright smile at Thomas. “Faceplanted on the first day.”

A moan escapes Thomas and the Gladers laugh. “Come on! We need to forget about that!” He takes a sip from his cup and shakes his head from the taste.

“I’ve got one!” Gally announces. “Never have I ever beaten Gally in a fight.”
Most of the Gladers don’t drink and Gally’s chest swells in pride; but deflates a little when you and Teresa drink. You send a wink Teresa’s way.

“Never have I ever thought another Glader was cute.” Shouts someone at the back. A lot of Gladers drink. The boys look at you.

“Who’d you think was cute?” Ben asks.

You throw a look at Thomas. “Ol’ Tommy here.” You wink and he seems a little shocked.

“Never have I ever kissed another Glader.” Newt says which he immediately follows with a swig of Gally’s mix. Alby and about a third of the Gladers follow suit, you and Teresa included. If Thomas looked shocked before he’s dumbstruck now.

“Never have I even kissed (y/n).” Thomas says the words so fast that it nearly comes out as one word. No one takes a drink, they’re all looking around.

Finally Teresa swallows her drink. You’ve never seen the boys’ jaws drop faster.

I really don’t understand why people worship Brenda so much and put Teresa down. I thinks that’s some serious shit there. Brenda was working for Wicked the whole time, she lie to Thomas about not knowing him. Everything was just a show. People worship Brenda for actually helping Thomas and giving his back to Wicked. Ok. You can do that.

But Teresa? I’m sorry but that’s for me the real warrior princess. You guys put it so easy like “she hurt Thomas”. Most of you are so fast in pointing out how Brenda helped, but nobody point out the fact that Thomas is still alive because of Teresa. She had everything to lose, you think is easy that people kidnapped you out of sudden and give you two choices? If you don’t hurt him, he’ll be death? That’s not easy. Specially because Teresa knew she will lose him anyways once she accepts the plan, she rather have him hating her than losing him, or be without him. Because his her best friend, the closest thing to a family. She knew all of that, but she continue her mission keeping the person she loves the most in the world save. Won’t you do the same? Teresa was practically dying for how Thomas looked at her now, but she keep going and that needs so many straight.

Teresa is putting down for nothing, if you do your research and read “The Kill Order” you’ll be pretty surprise on how much of a warrior Teresa Agnes is. And anything she did was to be mean, or to actually hurt Thomas. She was keeping him save in the only way she could, because they tell her to. Teresa loves Thomas more than anything, in a way Brenda will never understand.

So I don’t know I hate picking sides cause you shouldn’t but for me the only female worth worshiping is Teresa, she’s the real hero. She die saving Thomas, as she promise she would.

In this case, I absolutely believe it was Thomas fault all in keeping this going after the 2nd book, because he never actually put himself on Teresa’s shoes and ask himself the question “what if it was me, and Teresa was in danger?” We all know Thomas would do anything for her.

Hating Teresa for something a certain character did too is really pointless. It just shows how one sided and double standard a lot of fangirls can be when the whole situation involves one particular boy. (But if you ask me, we all know Thomas loved Teresa, “you are not her, you’d never be her” was enough prove)

A/N: I combined two requests because they were pretty similar.

“Where are the other girls? Am I the only girl?” Teresa asked.

“No. There was another girl before you.” Newt said, a frown instantly forming on his face at the thought.

“What happened to her?” Teresa asked.

“We don’t know.” Alby said. “She was a Runner.”

“Could you please explain this to me?” Teresa asked kindly, looking between the two boys. Minho, Gally, and Thomas also joined into the conversation.

“We don’t like to speak of it.” Gally said.

“Oh. What happened though? All you told me was she was a Runner.” Teresa pressed.

Minho sighed, looking at Newt. His face was extremely sad, remembering what had happened. He just nodded to Minho, sitting down on the ground along with Thomas. Everyone joined and sat down, all looking grim at the thought.

“She was a Runner, like Minho and Thomas.” Gally started.

“She was amazing. She was smart, fast, and creative. We didn’t want her running the maze alone but she proved herself worthy.” Minho added on.

“So we let her. She was fine the first month, but a few weeks ago something happened to her.” Alby joined in.

“She never came back. The doors closed and she never made it back. We searched her section the next day, but nothing. It was like she disappeared.” Thomas said.

“It was strange, there was no way she could have got lost, and she has outsmarted grievers before. What she could do was-” Newt was cut off by a scream, and he turned around.

There you stood, bloody, bruised, and a bad limp. Newt got up and broke into a run, his limp noticable as he reached you. What had happened was crazy. It was a miracle you were alive, you had the small amount of food and water you were living off of those two weeks you were trapped in the maze, and to make it worse, you could barely walk.

“Y/N.” Newt breathed, looking at you. “You’re alive.”

“Clint! Jeff!” Minho called out, running over to you two. He hugged you, being careful not to hurt you. “How?” He asked.

“I’ll explain later.” You got out. “It hurts so bad.” You whispered to Newt.

“I know love. Sh, it will be okay. Clint and Jeff are coming over here and they are going to help you. Did you get stung?” Newt asked.

“No, there were some close times though.” You whispered as Newt picked you up, carrying you to Clint and Jeff.

“Okay Y/N, we are going to bring you to the Homestead to check and make sure the injuries are not severe. You are going to be on bed rest.” Clint said. You nodded, your eyes starting to get droopy. You then fell into an abyss of darkness.

“When will she wake up?” You heard your boyfriend ask.

“Soon I think. She’s probably exhausted after being in the maze for two whole weeks.” Clint said.

Your eyes fluttered open, and you looked around the room. You were bandaged up, and your whole body ached. You groaned softly, trying to get Newt’s attention. He turned around and smiled slightly when he saw you were awake.

“Y/N, are you okay?” Newt asked.

“My whole body is in pain.” You groaned.

“Clint?” Newt asked.

“You had some really bad bruises and cuts. I’d say bed rest for at least a week and I wouldn’t put you back in that maze for a few months if you even want to go back in. I’ll leave you two alone now.” Clint said, heading towards the door.

“Thanks.” You said to Clint.

“No problem Y/N. Great to have you back.” With that, the door closed.

“Do you want to tell me what happened?” Newt asked.

“I was on my way back and I saw a griever. I got occupied with it and the doors closed. I survived the night and I was going to go back to the Glade but the way the walls moved, I was trapped. I was chased by so many grievers, fell so many times, there were a few close calls.” You said, shaking a little from the memory.

“I’m just glad you’re okay. I didn’t think you made it.” Newt said, a few tears forming in his eyes.

“I’m here now. Where’s Minho?” You asked.

“Out in the maze. Actually, he may be back by now. Do you want me to find out?” Newt asked.

“Yeah. I need to talk to him.” You said.

“Okay. I’ll be right back, love.” Newt said, kissing you quickly before leaving the room to go get Minho. You needed to talk to him about the maze. Newt came back in a few minutes later with Minho.

“Y/N, you’re okay.” Minho said.

“Of course I am slinthead, did you loose faith in me?” You joked.

“No one’s ever survived more then a night in the maze, let alone two weeks.” Minho replied.

“Yeah.” You said.

“I’m just glad that you’re okay. This one right here was a mess, wouldn’t do anything the first week. I’m sure he’s really happy you’re back.” Minho said, placing his hand on Newt’s shoulder.

“I’m sorry Newt, I didn’t mean to scare you.” You whispered, looking at Newt, eyes tearing up. You caused him a lot of pain.

“No Y/N, it’s okay. It’s not your fault, love. Please don’t cry.” Newt said, sitting down on the side of the bed and wiping away the few stray tears coming out of your eyes.

“I put you through so much pain.” You said.

“And you also went through a lot of pain out there, more then me.” Newt said, looking at you. “Plus you’re fine now."

"So what was it you wanted to talk about?” Minho changed the subject.

“I still want to run.” You said, looking between Newt and Minho, both of their eyes widened.

“Y/N, I’m not sure if that’s the best idea.” Minho said.

“I could run with you.” You said.

“Y/N, please don’t. I don’t want to have to worry about something bad happening to you again. You can work with me.” Newt suggested.

“Okay Newt, but after I show Minho what I found.” You said, catching both of their attention. “One more day in the maze when I’m better to show Minho what I found, then I will work with you Newt."

"Fine, but only one day, and you and Minho aren’t running just the two of you, Thomas is going as well.” Newt said.

“Okay.” You said, kissing Newt quickly and hugging Minho.

“See you soon shank.” Minho said, walking out.

“I’ll bring you dinner.” Newt said, kissing you again before leaving you alone in the room to think.

“Just keep running into each other everywhere” AU

Minho just doesn’t care about coffee.

If it were up to him, he’d get up every morning, shovel a spoonful or two of store brand instant into a cup with warm water from the kitchen sink and then down it without even stirring. The last time he did this, however, Newt nearly had a heart attack; he doesn’t let Minho make “coffee”, anymore.

Which means that it’s Newt who is to blame for the fact that Minho’s just spilled about three quarters of his overpriced double shot espresso on some guy with dark brown hair and broad shoulders and long eyelashes and a shirt that’s sticking to his abs in a way that Minho shouldn’t be so preoccupied with because he literally just soaked the guy with steaming hot coffee.

And Minho wants to apologize but all he says is “Fuck.”

New Girl, Chapter Three

A/N: Finally, it’s here! Thanks to everyone who sent me messages, you keep me on my toes! They help a lot. I hope you enjoy this chapter, even if it does leave you with a bit of a *ahem* cliff hanger. Happy reading!

Chapter one and two are here and here

“Heard you were at Newt’s house the other day y/n.” Teresa said as she unwrapped a sandwich. You were eating by yourselves today, on the stairs where students weren’t supposed to sit. (Like the rebels like you were.)

“Yep.” you replied casually.

“Well?” she asked. You raised an eyebrow.

“Well what?”

“Did he kiss you yet?” Teresa asked. You must have looked shocked because she rolled her eyes. “C’mon y/n, we all know you like each other.” you looked down. You would have hope you weren’t so obvious.

Wait, you liked each other?

“By we I mean me, your best friend, and Thomas and Minho, Newt’s best friends.”

“Oh!” you said, somewhat relieved. “Ok… That’s fine… I just wouldn’t want anyone knowing.” Teresa nodded.

“Well… Tomorrow’s Friday. One Friday of every month, we WICKED kids all head over to our spot. It’s a abandoned building, we call it Paradise. It’s all just for fun. Newt will be there.” you grimaced slightly at the idea of a party. “Please?” Teresa grabbed your hand. “I can give you a dress to wear and we can do each other’s hair.” you smiled.

“Okay.” you agreed. “But only because you rhymed.”

You later heard Teresa’s name called over the intercom, but when you texted her, she didn’t reply. You saw her at the end of the day. She was kissing Thomas, which she never did on school grounds. It was different then usual, her kiss seemed to have meaning. She broke away, saying something, to which Thomas responded with pulling her into his chest, murmuring into her black hair.

“Everything okay?” you asked.

“Yeah.” Teresa replied. “I just have to do something hard tomorrow.”

She didn’t say anything after that.

Teresa had curled your ponytail and painted your eyes with plack eyeliner to match you dress. She then highlighted your cheeks. You thought you looked a million times better when you looked in the mirror by the time she was done. Teresa looked the same as you, just with a burst of color from red lipstick. She looked at you, back to the mirror, and took a breath.

“Alright.” she said. “To Paradise.”

Paradise was a squarish building with heavy doors. Once you and Teresa were inside, music filled your ears, the best so strong it matched your heartbeat. Every eight feet or so, there was a table with tiny glasses filled with orange liquid in them.

“We call it the Flare.” Teresa said when you asked her what they were. “It’s a non-alcoholic drink some WICKED employees let spread in the students awhile back. It makes relaxed, if you just take one. If you take, say, three though…” Teresa pointed to a girl whose hair was messy. She was standing alone, just screaming, occasionally biting at pretty guys that walked by. “Always come with a buddy.”she then moved her gaze, which you followed, over to Newt and Thomas, who were making their way through the people.

“Hey.” you smiled at Newt, who smiled back.

“I need to talk to Thomas.” Teresa was leading away a unsure looking Thomas. You watched as she quickly downed a couple cups of the Flare.

“Woah!” you clutched Newt’s arm. “Is she gonna be okay?!” Newt chuckled.

“She’s not going to be affected love. She’s Immune. Not affected like most. Someone with real original thoughts started calling them ‘Munies. No one knows what makes you Immune.”

“Are you Immune?” you asked. Newt’s expression faltered.

“No.” he said. You were both quiet for a moment. “Come on.” Newt led you to the dance floor. “I dare you.” he said, holding out his hand, which you took.He led you, fast, swaying to the beat and picking up his feet. Eventually you got the hang of it and let your hands move to Newt’s neck. Your stomach plummeted when Newt’s hands traveled to your waist. (This time not because you almost died on a Berg Bus. This time… Because he wanted to.)

“So what do you think of Paradise love?” Newt had to lean in close for you to hear him. You opened your mouth to reply, and was shocked at what came out.

“I love it when you call me love.” Newt didn’t miss a beat.

“Why?” he asked.

“Because…” it was to late to not say anything. “You don’t call anyone else that. It makes me feel… Special.” Newt pressed his forehead against yours.

“You’ll never know how special you make me feel love.” he murmured. Newt began to lean in, and you did to, until you heard a cry.

“Thomas, please!”

“Teresa!” you pulled away and followed the sound, Newt behind you. Teresa was standing in front of Thomas, whose fists were clenched.

“You’ve been giving them information about me?! What more could they possibly know?!” he yelled. Teresa shook her head.

“Thomas, you don’t understand. They would have expelled everyone, you, Newt, Minho, even Chuck if I didn’t-”

“And you?” Thomas interrupted.

“Would they have expelled you too?” he repeated. Teresa momentarily froze.

“Yes, but you have to understand, that’s not why I-” Thomas smacked Teresa’s hand away so hard you heard a snap. He looked momentarily terrified, but blinked the expression away.

“Don’t ever talk to me again.” he spat. Thomas began to walk away before he turned around and added, “I’m going to find Brenda.”

All at once, Thomas was gone, and Newt was helping tie Teresa’s wrist and helping her in his car. He was quiet as you sat in the bacl watching your best friend stare aimlessly out the window.

Once you had dropped Teresa off, you slipped into the front seat with Newt. It wasn’t until you stopped you realized Newt had taken you to a field instead of your house. He quickly unbuckled and looked at you.

“Want to talk?” he asked. You nodded, stepping out and leaning on the front of the car. “You look beautiful.” Newt said, taking a step forward, and you by surprise.

“Thank you.” you said. Newt put his hand on your cheek and wiped his thumb over your eye.

“But you don’t need all this makeup.” Newt barely had time to finish his own sentence,  because he had cupped your face in his hands and and was kissing you, taking away the little breath you had in the first place.

“Newt…” you exhaled as he pulled away. His lips were red and swollen.

You did that to him.

“Love?” all at once, the images started pouring back into your mind, the building, the stairs, the hands. And the messy hair.

Newt’s messy hair.

“Who are you?” you asked.

But you passed out in Newt’s arms before he could even think of a reply.

Break-up Strategies

***Teresa and Thomas dating, and you are angry cause your bff didn’t spend much time with you and Newt is in your same situation. So you two try to split them but instead you fell for each other***

You are mid-sentence when Teresa cuts you off.

“Thomas!” She yells and your blood boils. Teresa and Thomas had been dating for a while now and as their relationship progressed, so did your irritation. Whenever Teresa wasn’t with Thomas-which was roughly ten minutes a day- she was talking about him.

Thomas is talking with Newt when he hears Teresa call his name. They immediately rush towards each other and embrace. You fight off the urge to hurl.

Newt walks over to you and you both glare at the couple.

“It’s bloody sickening, he won’t shucking stop talking about her.” Newt mutters to you. You grumble in agreement.

“Same with Teresa, it’s Thomas this, Thomas that. I don’t think I can take another second of it.” You watch as Thomas picks Teresa up and twirl her around. Ridiculous.

“We need to put a stop to it.” He decides.

“Good that.” You agree. Teresa hardly spent any time with you anymore. Being the only girls is hard enough when it’s two against everyone else, now it was just you.

“Meet me in the Deadheads and we’ll talk.” You nod in response and he leaves you to watch the sickening display alone.

When you arrive, you find him sitting against a tree. He looks so peaceful but when he looks at you see a mischievous glint in his eyes.

“I like that look; that look means you’ve got a plan.” You smirk.

“We’re going to spread some rumors.” His evil grin is kind of hot. You sit down and start planning. After a while, you have it all sorted out.The lies that you and Newt will spread around the Glade so Teresa and Thomas begin to doubt their relationship, all sorted out. You and Newt stand up.

“You know what the worst thing is about watching them together? The looks they give each other. They always get up so close together and do this.” You slowly demonstrate what you’re talking about. You move closer to Newt, putting your forehead to his and recreating the look Teresa always gives Thomas, your arms around his neck. He plays along and slides his arms around your waist, exactly the way Thomas does.

“Or when Thomas does this.” He brings his hand to your face and lightly tucks a stray hair behind your ear. You suck in a quick intake of air. You look into his eyes again, for real this time. You eyes wander to his lips and back to his eyes.

“What were we doing again?” You ask, biting your lip.

“Reenacting the annoying things Teresa and Thomas do, love.” He explains quietly.

“Oh, right. Well the most annoying this would actually be when she does this.” You lean forward slowly and press a light kiss on his lips. You start to pull away but his lips find yours again. His tongue slides over your bottom lip and you widen the kiss. He moans into your mouth. He picks you up and spins you around. Maybe it’s not so ridiculous, after all.
