we are heroes!

23 Black Female Scientists Who Changed The Damn World

They love to hide our history! We need to know our heroes in person! There are many more outstanding women of science, these are the ones that made this top list. And they are so inspirational! I like to see African American women break barriers! I wish every black girl would see this and notice that they are capable of much!

We have to prove ourselves all of the time!

So, I loved the Harper sneak peek we got. I’m excited to delve more into Harper’s character.

BUT, I need to brag about my bae Bellamy for a bit here… like they intentionally filmed that scene to show us Harper running away from being a hero and had Bellamy (without hesitance or thought) do what he always does: acts as the selfless hero we all know he is and he’s always been.

That’s why Bellamy is a leader, folks. He inspires others to be selfless, brave, and noble. He’s a hero in the classic sense, a paragon of heroism for his people to look up to.

I’m not holding my breath that this will happen, but I could really use a scene in which Harper confides in Bellamy about her guilt for leaving that man and Bellamy listens and supports her (maybe adopts her as his new sister since the real one is kind of taking him for granted, right now).

That would be nice, wouldn’t it? Bellamy, you’ve got family already. Let Octavia figure out hers, okay. She needs more time. She’ll come back eventually. Care for the family that needs you and wants you right now, sir.

Navy is Amazing

Holy cow, Navy is smart. Like, really smart. She’s not only the smartest Ruby we’ve seen so far, she’s one of the smartest gems we’ve met period. In “Room for Ruby” she displayed an impressively high level of cunning, emotional control, and tactical thinking:

She falls out of the sky,

Comes face to face with the jerks who threw her and her friends into space,

Quickly realizes she’ll never be able to outfight them,

And right then and there she improvises a plan to get her enemies to let their guard down so she can steal her ship back and save her squad.

And it works!

In one episode she managed to accomplish something both Peridot and Jasper failed to do in two seasons: She escaped from Earth.

I gotta say, I’m really rooting for her and I want to see her again. It’s been a long time since we’ve had a character who’s successfully proactive, and after all of the times the Crystal Gems messed with the Rubies it’s hard not to see this as justified.

She saved herself, and now she’s going to save her friends.

She’s the hero Homeworld needs, not the hero they deserve.

The battle that won my heart. Thank you Team Chrom and Team Ephraim for that amazing Round 2!!

A few reasons to start Boku No Hero Academia, if you haven’t yet:

  • A cinnamon roll MC who’s all brains and only beginning the brawn part when the story begins
  • Wonderfully different characters that work well together
  • Said characters are also very wonderfully flawed
  • Said characters undergo some form of character development as the story progresses, but not at any point is it a 180 degree one or unrealistic to their pre-established characteristics
  • Logical explanations, limitations to everyone’s abilities and powers
  • Flawed, not-as-OP-as-you-would-think mentors
  • Actual consequences of actual actions taken - nope, not even your fave gets a free pass
  • Minimal fan-service. And where it does happen it’s usually with the character themselves depicted as being comfortable with it
  • Main female character not subjected to fan-service
  • The one lecherous character is deliberately depicted as unappealing and a general loser, and even his redeeming moments include no form of lecherousness on his part
  • No other character - especially the “cool” ones or general favourites - supports/indulges in lecherous behaviour
  • What are minor characters?
  • Most parents are alive, well and supportive of their kids in their own way
  • Dick behaviour in “good” characters not justified with a sad, tragic past so much as their own decisions/characteristics leading them to behave in that manner
  • Amazing action in every arc so far
  • Power-ups that are earned with time and effort put into towards earning them
  • MC isn’t always the problem solving, enemy defeating star of every arc
  • Genuinely interesting, memorable villains whose presence actually leave consequences
  • Wonderful writing in general tbh

Seriously, 12/10 recommend

My brother, inspired by the Marth pentagram post, made a pentagram out of glow-in-the-dark duct tape in hopes of summoning Camilla. Instead he got a 5-star Takumi. The irony of it. The Camilla pentagram summoned Takumi. He was attracted by all the Nohrian Scum

UPDATE: he finally got Camilla everyone
