we are good enough

that kind of love that’s “i was scared until i found you.” that kind of love that’s worth it to try romance again. the “fuck i’ll try cheesy if it just makes you smile” love, the roses and love notes and wine bottles. the twinkle light love, the “let’s go on this romantic date only to spend the whole thing being silly” love, the dancing badly to slow songs love, the “i don’t know how you make me laugh so much but seriously stop it i’m trying to drive” love. the “i trust you love,” calling late at night because a secret just welled up in my throat love, the first person i talk to so i can figure out this decision is you kind of love. the “i was hurt before and had given up but then i found you” love, the incredulous in-awe love, the wonder love, the are you actually real or am i dreaming you love. the “i didn’t believe in soulmates before you” love. that kinda love.

Kiki’s Delivery Service is one of those movies that I feel any aspiring artist should see. The struggle of Kiki in this movie is one that ANYONE who wants to further themselves goes through, that transition from taking what you love to do to something that you make a living off of.

As artists we have all been in the place where Kiki is. That place where we can’t draw anything right, can’t paint anything right, can’t sculpt anything right, that place where everything comes out wrong over and over and we begin to question if we’re actually good enough for the talents and skills that used to come to us like second nature when we were just using them for fun. That place where we want to give up because we suddenly can’t ‘fly’ like we want to, because everything seems too difficult to do that.

But that doesn’t mean it isn’t there, just because it isn’t working right then and there when you want it to be. If you can always fly, then it wouldn’t make those times when you did as special. It isn’t necessarily easy to grow up, nor is it necessarily easy to live with the artistic struggle of losing inspiration. But you can’t just throw up your hands and say ‘No, I can’t do it anymore’ because you’ll NEVER fly if you do that.

You gotta wobble before you stand.

The solarpunk!Luigi and steampunk!Mario piece from the stream today - thanks to everybody who dropped by!! took me ~7hrs not counting first sketch to finish this piece. what am I doing with my life

The House has PASSED the bill to repeal and replace the Affordable Care Act aka Obamacare. Here’s all the details:

  • The bill will still have to go through the Senate - there are some debates whether or not it will pass. This legislation is extremely unpopular and some of the most vulnerable republicans are in the Senate. There are also Senate Republicans who are still leaning on a “no” side due to the changes this bill will make regarding Medicaid and pre-existing conditions. (source)

  • The bill was narrowly passed. 217 republicans voted to repeal and replace Obamacare, the party needed 216 to pass this. Here are the 20 republicans who voted against the bill.

  • The version of this bill was voted on WITHOUT a CBO score estimating the costs and how many will lose coverage. Republicans shrugged off complaints saying that the previous score was good enough despite there being major revisions. “We already had the Congressional Budget score when we did the main bill. These are amendments that only perfected, do not add costs,” said Rep. David McKinley. (source)

  • The bill WILL allow children to stay on their parent’s coverage until they are 26 years old, keeping that mandate from the ACA.

  • The individual mandate will be immediately removed, meaning there will be no tax on those who don’t purchase health care.

  • However, the Medicaid expansion will be phased out. The coverage expansion will stay in place until 2019 but no new eligible people will be added after that. Those on Medicaid often cycle in and out of the program due to their employment and income situation, meaning that this will lead to a significant drop in coverage because they won’t be able to re-enroll.

  • Medicaid will also see general cuts and changes. It will change how the federal government reimburses states, states may add work requirements that will further limit access to the programs, and the new option of a “block grant,” will be offered to the states. The block grant will ease limitations on states’ ability to kick people off, charge premiums, and cut benefits for children.

  • States will be allowed to opt out of provisions that required insurance companies to cover “essential health benefits” and charge everyone the same regardless of their health history.

  • Those buying insurance on their own will get tax credits based off their age now, rather than their income. Tax credits will increase as recipients get older, and phase them out for individuals making more than $75,000 or families making more than $150,000. (source)

  • Interestingly enough, the republicans made sure to include a loophole in the bill that exempts members of Congress from losing the provisions currently protected by Obamacare. They are now saying that they will eventually close that loophole but this will come in separate legislation and not offered as part of the American Health Care Act. Fucking cute. (source)

  • The bill will cut taxes for the wealthy. Under the ACA wealthy Americans saw tax increases to pay for it’s coverage expansion, the AHCA will get rid of those taxes. These tax cuts for the wealthy add up to $883 billion.

  • Ultimately the winners of the passing will be people who are younger, healthier, and high income, while the losers are those who are older, sicker, and low-income. (source)

  • Many republicans voted on this without even reading the bill. Amendments were made last night, giving them almost no time to read exactly what the bill will do. Rep. Thomas Garrett even told the news “I don’t think any individual has read the whole bill, that’s why we have staff.” (source)

>>The Marks We Make<< chapter 4 update!!

@wittyy-name and i are sooooo excited to share this one with you!!!
tbh i dont think ill ever be able to make anything this aesthetic for tmwm ever again and i hate what tumblr does to my gif quality

me thinkin about the how comfortable keith seemed when hunk hugged him and lance in that one ep and the soft smile he had on his face while looking directly at hunk afterwards and also the very true and real fact that hunk is the first and only person we’ve seen who has been able to make keith throw his head back and laugh out loud in delight

What Even’s POV taught us

How he sees himself

last season we watched Even Bech Næsheim come into Isak’s life, open his locker, kiss him underwater and save him from a life of sadness, shame and inauthenticity.

We watched him light Isak’s world up, give him a reason to love who he is and share it with the world. We watched as Isak spent every second believing it was impossible for Even to love him back because how could someone who literally resembled the sun, love Isak. It would be almost a dream. But he does and now despite all of that we see- Even thinks he isn’t good enough for Isak.

he truly can’t believe that he has managed to find someone like Isak, this boy who he loves more than anything else, who reminds him he is not alone, who spends minute by minute at his side through all of the ups and downs the world throws at him. he can’t believe it so much that he is convinced that he doesn’t deserve it.

now we know what Even thinks of himself and it is this.

he thinks he is not enough
he thinks he doesn’t deserve the love Isak showers him with
and that he isn’t capable of being enough
of proving his worth
and somehow he thinks he has to
he thinks he needs to somehow prove to himself that he does deserve love
even though he doesn’t believe it.

he is forever plagued with thoughts that he isn’t worth this and he doesn’t deserve to be loved

what else we learnt in Even’s pov

he is more than enough

how can Even not see it? the power he has to save Isak from the thoughts that plague his own mind, the way he can make the world disappear around them both so he can make Isak focus on him, his voice his eyes, his calm smile that continues to remind him, they are okay, he is here Isak is not alone, he is loved and nothing else matters.

how can he not see the way he makes Isak better, calmer, happier, free, real. The way his love makes him stronger and changes everything around him for the better.

Even Bech Næsheim is more than enough

his love, his kindness, his everlasting comfort and laughter is more than enough

not just for Isak

but for the world. <3
