we about to have a tumblr fight

to all those percy jackson fan girls...

… who slay history class with their big knowledge of greek and roman mythology
… who get weird stares because of their SPQR or Camp Halfblood T-Shirts or clay necklaces
… who do about 1000 tests to find out their godly parent
… who, after doing that test, draw the symbol of their godly patent literally everywhere
… who still read the books even though their friends tell them that they are for kids
… who will burn every percy jackson movie they can find
… who will fight you if you underrate Annabeth Chase because “she has no powers”
… who have 100000 ships
… who are shy nerds at school but very confident and popular on tumblr/Instagram

You go girl, because one day we all will meet up and build our own Camp Halfblood!

I don't think people who say we're overreacting about Wonder Woman understand

When you’re a girl, you don’t get to see women be cool, not as often as boys get to see men be cool.

You don’t get to see them fly and fight bad guys and be people you want to BE, do you know what I mean?

Guys get the cool super powers and girls get romance subplots.

Girls with powers are reduced to smaller roles and we have to make up fanfics and extended material that makes them the main character cuz male writers don’t need them for anything but romance plots.

Just look at girls on Tumblr.

Obsessed with white males.

Love em.

Can’t get enough of that white guy named Chris.

I assume because they’re attractive in every socially constructed way.

And because they get to be the telekinetic, edgy angsty guy whose mom died who deserves all of our sympathy and attention.

So when people say Wonder Woman is a great movie but people are exaggerating how important it is that she be a role model, or that girls should look up to their mothers…

Like you don’t get how cool it is to be able to see someone like you do cool stuff. Your mom is great but she’s mundane, no offense to mothers. She’s not magical, she’s the kind of person you don’t appreciate until you’re older. And she’s not the type of person EVERYONE knows and recognizes and looks up to. Wonder Woman is, well now she really is. And she’s visible, she’s much more tangible, as fictional characters always ARE to mainstream audiences. So little girls get to see this awesome fictional lady…

-and you don’t have to pretend you’re a guy.

You don’t have to pretend that you’re not different from the people we’ve been told are the “desirable” people to be.

Wonder Woman is not only a great movie and a lovely social commentary.

But on a basic level, the more subconscious level of internalized feelings, of self identity and self love ?

I mean, are you a heartless monster or do you really have a problem with girls, and boys too, seeing a woman kick ass and not be the object of desire.

But the person everyone wants to be?

You show girls that they can be awesome, that they have more of a role in human existence than just being shallow love interests and you show boys that there are women they can look up to.

You got this larger than life woman acting as an icon for everyone, and for ONCE, this icon is female. Yes, the human race is represented, and idealized, in super heroes. Who are often male. Which says that our idealized self…is male.

So Wonder Woman being an idealistic superhero, our perfect self, the human shaped being we want to be…well. She’s female and BY WANTING TO BE HER…we say that there is nothing wrong with being female.

And yes yes yes yes argue that they have real life women they could look up to.

But do you really think most little boys want to learn about Madam Curie or Queen Isabella or Antoinette?

That’s boring history stuff.

Wonder Woman reaches a huge audience.

She’s more tangible, for children that is.

She feels more real than stuffy historical figures.

Stop acting like Wonder Woman being a role model is to be underplayed or devalued.

It’s important for people to feel EXCITED and exhilarated by a super hero who’s not a straight white snarky nihilistic male.

It gets their dusty little hearts beating and their minds thinking, hopefully.

Will it change anything politically, no.

Wonder Woman can’t impeach trump unfortunately.

But can it change how girls see themselves, how boys see women, how people look at what it means to be human?

Well maybe.

So TL;DR- shut up. Wonder Woman is amazing. And shame on you for trying to take her away from children, you’re a menace and I need to talk to you, adult to adult.

Call me terrible, but aces who like and seek out sex make me, a sex repulsed ace, feel invalid. They are almost no different from anyone else, yet they ace like they're so ace. How can their asexuality be so important if it hides under how they're "normal"? Why are we so protective of these aces when they're at best almost allos(I don't mean to insult allos in any way), or at worst exclusionists? It just appalls me how we act like they're hated when really, they're treated so normally.

I really debated just deleting this and blocking the sender because it is so utterly antithetical to everything this blog stands for, but I think it needs to be addressed, because attitudes like this are a warning sign to me that history may be poised to repeat itself, and that will happen over my dead body.

I’ve been around a long time. Like, before tumblr, before AVEN, before aces had anything like the community we have today, before we even had a consistent word for ourselves. That means I remember some of the early politics that Kids These Days weren’t around for, have no way of really knowing–including the downright ugly fights that dominated the mailing list days about how to define asexuality. There was a contingent of people, you see, that held that the only way to be Truly Asexual was to completely lack any sort of libido, and to abstain from sex entirely. These people were. Not nice people. They were the exclusionists of their time, and I mean that very seriously. Nearly every hateful, cruel, and self-spiting tactic you see in REGs on tumblr today was also levied by nonlibidoists and antisexuals at the time. They were absolutely vicious toward not only anybody within ace circles who wanted a broader definition of asexuality [the one we use today, eventually] but also toward non-aces or anyone who wasn’t celibate by choice, which resulted, among other things, in exactly the sort of homophobia and sex shaming that REGs accuse us of to this day.

We, as a community, fought tooth and nail against defining ourselves in this way, and against both the ugly infighting it produced and the abhorrent behaviour it encouraged. We have been fighting tooth and nail ever since to move past that stain on our history, to define ourselves in a way that is safe and welcoming to all aces, and to ensure that we conduct ourselves in a way that aligns with the ethics of the communities we ally ourselves with, and to what we have decided is the ethical core of our own community. It sickens me to the core to be hearing views like this espoused again from inside our community. I will not stand for it. We will not stand for it. We didn’t then, and we won’t now.

There is no right way to be asexual. There is no wrong way to be asexual. There is nothing at all wrong with aces who have, want, or seek out sex. There is nothing wrong with aces who are so repulsed by sex that they can’t even think about it. There is nothing wrong with aces who have no feelings about sex whatsoever. There is nothing wrong with aces who never have or will feel attraction. There is nothing wrong with aces who do occasionally feel attraction but still feel that ace identities best represent their experiences or that the ace community best addresses their needs. Asexuality is not behaviour. Asexuality cannot be hidden under behaviour, or opted out of through behaviour, and if some people feel like they need to try to do that, that is a reflection of an aphobic society pressuring people into closeting or otherwise denying themselves in an attempt to escape that oppression, not proof that they’re “normal” [also, feel free to never juxtapose “ace” and “normal” again, that’s gross].

And, finally, this frankly drips of exactly the kind of sex-shaming we’re so often accused of, no matter how hard you try to hide it behind “no insult to allos.” It’s gross. Don’t do it.

This is one of the most unsavoury asks I have seen in my time on this blog. Everything about this sentiment is unwelcome on this blog; keep it out of our inbox and keep it out of our community. Our gates are open. Our arms are open. Every ace is welcome, every ace is valid, every ace experience is a genuine ace experience, one worthy of consideration, protection, and acknowledgement. We have worked hard to build this community into what it is today. The gatekeepers of the past removed themselves from the rest of us and faded into oblivion and that is where I want their sentiments to stay.

I’m not going to call you terrible, because I stand for a community where every ace is welcome and finds the resources they need to navigate their life and identity. But that cannot, will not, come at the expense of others.

The people for Tony Stark?

Okay, I was talking with my sister about how awesome it would be if in the wake of Civil War, that the people/public in North and South America, Europe, Asia, Africa, EVERYWHERE! Just showed a subtle but strong solidarity for Tony Stark/Iron Man using what Tony is super into. Technology.
Like, picture this:
Hashtags; Tony is trending for MONTHS.
“I stand for the man that stands with me👏🏽 #IStandWithTonyStark #CaptainAmericaWho?”
“#IronMan with a #ironwill for the people and what’s right!”

People view the footage of the airport battle from the grainy cameras posted all over like crazy because someone uploaded it to YouTube. It’s not the best but you can see how team cap just didn’t pull any punches and how Tony had tried to talk despite not hearing what he’s saying. He looks broke , trying to hold everything together.
People lose their minds when they see Cap’s team charge first and when Rhodes falls from the sky and Tony dives after him.
The comments light up and bbbuuuuurrrrrnnn team cap.
“lmao what a fucking joke. tony is trying to talk to him and do you see this guys body language? he’s not hearing anything. Dude wouldn’t even listen to a team member let alone 117 countries”
“Yooo, legit they just kept flying after seeing War Machine go down like that? I saw Falcon turn around but I don’t care man, you’ve LIVED and FOUGHT with this dude and he’s obviously seriously hurt and you just keep flying away in the jet you stole??? Cowards. Pathetic.”
“They really look like they’re trying to kill the real heroes. Fuck I’m glad we have Iron Man and Co. with us”

People organize a day online; through tumblr, twitter, insta, Facebook, any way to get the news out that you wear red on this day and you just subtly grab a pen and draw a circle in your palm for a repulsor just like Iron Man’s. And everything blows up that way. News networks talk about it and talk show hosts, the paper has articles on how the public is showing an unimaginable support for Iron Man and the rest of his team that stayed and fought for them and continue to fight for them during the revision of the Accords.

And I want it to be on the news so much that team cap has to watch it and has to know how much everyone loves Tony and what he’s doing and how he went about it. And how he is an actual hero who did his best and how much the public believe and appreciate him.

The worst thing is looking back in anger and thinking “wow, I could have done this differently” or “I could have done it better”. We avoid what we might grow to regret to a point where we don’t make use of the opportunities we’re offered because we’re scared of failing. Afraid of not being able to live up to expectations. Not necessarily somebody else’s, but more often than not our own.
Anger we can take and live with. We can take being screamed at, being asked what the hell we were thinking, but we can’t stand being shrugged at with a cool expression, and being told that yes, we did not make it but that it’s okay. We don’t want disappointment. Especially not disappointment we harbour toward ourselves. There’s that certain line we cross, whether it’s a new job, an assignment we have to write or a new step in a relationship we have to take that makes us think “maybe I can’t do this”. It’s the fear of failure that grips us then, cold and unforgiving, and sometimes this fear is so overwhelming that we decide not to try at all. And this is the worst thing we can possibly do.
Where would we go if we stopped trying new things? If we bolted at every challenge because we were too afraid of us not being able to take it? Life is not about making mistakes - that’s too easy. It’s about accepting. Accepting mistakes you made in the past, reaching for them and shaping them into something new. It’s learning how to get better. It’s coming to terms with the fact that you’re a work in progress and that every day you should ask yourself one question: how can I be a better person? It’s about living around the fear, living with it, and learning that no matter how hard we fight against the prospect of failure, it should never be enough to get us to stop trying. Because living with the regret of wondering what could have been will always be ten times worse than failing could ever be.

I know this is long, but please read and reblog this so that we can try and circulate HELPFUL information instead of deadly suggestions.

After stumbling across the last post I reblogged that was full of a lot of DANGEROUS, BAD, TERRIBLE advice in reference to how to handle calling 911 when in danger, I feel compelled to at least try and get some better information out there in the Tumblr community. I am a 911 dispatcher and the first piece of advice I have for anyone in an emergency situation (or even for someone that calls 911 accidentally) is:

DO NOT HANG UP. In case you didn’t get that the first time, I said DO NOT HANG UP THE PHONE. We cannot help you if we do not know where you are, and contrary to what is apparently popular belief, we are NOT mind readers & without knowing your location (which you must provide) we CAN NOT get you help.

To help you understand the importance of this, I’m going to explain to you what happens when you call 911 in my center and in the centers in my area.

911 line rings.

We answer: “_______ (name of your agency) 911, WHERE is your emergency?”

In a perfect world, the caller will respond with the address of their emergency.

If you are unable to do so, we will start to retransmit your location. It takes time. Again, in a perfect world, we can usually get it in less than 10 seconds, but we do not live in a perfect world and so it often doesn’t happen that quickly. (Also, if you’re in an apartment complex, trailer park, hotel, etc, it’s not going to give us the room, lot, etc. number that you’re actually in, even with a retransmit). It is true that if you call from a landline your address will often populate for us, however, the address is NOT always right! We need you to try your ABSOLUTE BEST to provide us with an accurate address. By not knowing your location, you’re prolonging the response time. The call has to be answered, have a confirmed address, type of call that we’re responding to so that the correct responders are dispatched, and then it has to be dispatched. In smaller jurisdictions, their fire/EMS is often volunteer. That means: THEY ARE COMING FROM HOME TO THE STATION. It takes time & the more time we waste just trying to figure out where you are, the longer you’re going to be waiting for a life saving response.

The TERRIBLE information post that is going around tells you to call 911, hang up, and then turn your phone off. NO, NO, NO. That is the absolute WORST thing you could ever do. When a 911 hang up comes in we attempt to call the line back twice. If the line isn’t open long enough to retransmit an address (which most of the time it’s not), that’s it. The call gets out in and closed. There is literally NOTHING WE CAN DO TO HELP YOU. Even if we DO retransmit an address and there is no sign of a disturbance or no other indication that there is an emergency, we often do not send a responder because if we send one to every call, we’d be wasting a LOT of time and resources. We receive 911 hang ups/accidental 911 calls ALL DAY LONG. (Side note: the most common ones that we receive come from disconnected cell phones. Every cell phone (disconnected or not) with battery life can call 911, but 911 CANNOT call those phones back). If you call from a disconnected cell and we’re not able to get a location (or are and not hear any signs that would indicate a need for service), you will most likely not get the help you need.

Moral of this point: DO NOT HANG UP and KNOW WHERE YOU ARE. Try to pay attention to mile markers on the interstate & landmarks, signs or road names. If you call accidentally-STAY ON THE LINE. We (at least at my agency) will ask you to verify your name and address and that there is no emergency. As long as nothing feels/sounds wrong about it to us, we won’t send an officer to knock on your door. You won’t get in trouble. No one will be mad. Just stay on the line so that we don’t waste time and resources on a call that is not emergent.

Disclosure: some agencies offer text to 911. Don’t assume that you can text 911 unless you know that your locality has that capability. A lot of them don’t. If you’re able to safely call you should ALWAYS call rather than text. It’s faster and more efficient.

Moving on-

Answer our questions. We’re not asking you questions for our own amusement. Everything we ask you on the line is for your own safety and for the safety of our responders. They are much more well equipped to handle your emergency if they know what they’re walking into and what supplies they need to bring in with them when they come. We’re NOT going to send our fire/EMS into a scene that is not safe, so answer our questions so that we know which resources need to be provided to you. I know that often times the calls that people place to us are during some of the worst, most terrifying moments of their lives & we WANT to help you in the best way that we know how. We ask the things that we ask because it’s required & because the more we know, the higher the quality of service that we provide you will be.

ALSO: While we’re asking you the questions, most likely RESPONDERS HAVE ALREADY BEEN DISPATCHED. If you didn’t get that, read it again. You can’t imagine how much time we spend trying to argue answers to questions out of callers because we’re being screamed at: “JUST GET THEM HERE QUICKLY.” “HE/SHE/I’LL BE DEAD BEFORE YOU GET THEM HERE,” etc. you’re wasting your time and mine. Try your best to work with us because our number one goal is to get you the help you need as quickly as possible. Contrary to popular belief, we don’t do this for the money. The medics, fire fighters, police officers and animal control officers DON’T do this for the money. (It’s not there, in case you were wondering.) we do this because we genuinely care about other human beings. We want to HELP. We CARE. We are here to protect and serve, but we cannot do that effectively if people are constantly fighting against us.

If you have any questions about how things work here or need advice as to how to handle a call in to 911, feel free to ask and I will give you the best advice that I can. Just please, please don’t listen to terrible misinformation (like calling, hanging up and turning your phone off). These situations are often the line between life and death. As cliche as it sounds, help us help you. Much love, Tumblr fam!

Also, to any of my fellow dispatchers, feel free to add to this. I know that things can vary from one locality to another, so I think any input would be helpful! I tried to just stick to the basics in this post for that reason. :)

@therapy101 @thistherapylife @socialworkmemes @all-about-psychology @theangrytherapist @thecalminside could you guys please reblog this to try and circulate correct information about how to receive help in an emergency situation? There is some VERY bad information going around that provides dangerous suggestions in reference to calling 911 and that makes me so afraid for anyone that reads it and thinks that it’s true.

I’m sure someone’s made mention of this already, but can I just say one of the most powerful moments of GotG2 for me was Gamora’s line about “little girls across the galaxy that are in danger.”

Just … in superhero movies (other than Wonder Woman) female children aren’t showcased or mentioned. There was some tumblr post a while ago that pointed out how in Marvel movies we have young boys noticing Captain America or baby!Parker getting to fight alongside Ironman, but never do we get a girl doing those things. Boys get a chance to feel like a part of the Marvel universe, but never girls.

And now they’re mentioned, and not just as a casual insertion. It’s not a simple camaraderie moment that will make a kid want to jump around and fight imaginary foes alongside their heroes.

It’s an empowering moment.

It’s acknowledging that girls are in danger, that they’re being abused and cruelly targeted. That line will resonate with any child who’s felt like they have nowhere else to turn. Their pain and helplessness has been given a voice, and they will no longer feel alone. Nebula and Gamora are women they can identify with.

(Plus, the sisters represent both ends of the spectrum in how girls can react to the abuse they’ve suffered, so it’s not a matter of tokenism. No one has to feel like their abuse isn’t valid because they don’t act a certain way)

More importantly, it can give these girls hope or a sense of strength. They can tell themselves that Nebula or Gamora care about them. They can dream about being saved by the sisters if they wish, because their abusers wouldn’t stand a chance. Nebula and Gamora’s strength and power can also be something young girls can aspire to.

It’s just … that line and the entire arc of those sisters really spoke to me. Thank you James Gunn, for finally giving young girls a voice in Marvel movies.

Even after all this - although I care about you differently - I don’t care about you any less.

All your secrets are safe with me.
        I’ll still protect your scars.
We don’t have to speak again
For me to be on your side.
        I’m on your side
Even. in. this. fight. I’m on your side.
        The color of your heart
Is still one of the most
        Beautiful things I’ve ever seen.
        I know I saw but a piece
A piece of that heart is all I need.
If this is goodbye, I want you to know
I don’t care about you any less.
You are still and always will be
        Safe with me.

Okay, Tumblr, we need to talk.

Listen, mermaids are not usually my thing. I am pretty indifferent towards them in general, but I see a lot of you in my dash posting about mermaids, so I saw this novel and even though I have just started it and I can’t tell you if it’s going to be good or not, I feel it is my civic duty to tell you it exists. Ready?

Ice Massacre, by Tiana Warner.

A book about a little island at war with a growing colony of mermaids living in the waters around them. So they send warriors to fight them, but historically men don’t do very good against that mermaid lure magic thing they do, so they decide to send a ship full of highly trained girl warriors, and the protagonist is the one Useless Lesbian™ of the ship (who, by the way, also happens to be a lady of color, like most people in the island).

Like I said, mermaids are not my thing and I have only read a few chapters, but so far it is fast-paced and action-y, with a touch of fantasy. The kind of entertaining book you read fast and easy.

Sounds good? Happy to hear it. The paperback is fifteen dollars, but it’s literally less than a fucking dollar for Kindle right now and until July the 31st, because a sequel is coming out in two days and they are having a special offer.

Now go grab your fantasy lesbian mermaid girl warrior novel.

Edit: I finished the novel and it was great fun, I basically demolished it in two days. Mostly lots of action (and it gets way more graphic than I expected it to) with a touch of reimagined folklore-ish fantasy. It’s the kind of lovely book you can just keep reading if you want to, and devour it in one go. If you are into fantasy YA, badass lady protagonists and mermaids, give it a go, I know many people around here will enjoy this a lot!

Heyyy so do you think you could give me a brief run down of basically everything that's happened related to Hiveswap since the beginning? Including announcement of characters and such? (In chronological order preferably please) Thanks ^_^;;

i mean, i’ll try but. that’s pretty much what this whole blog is. i’ll see if i can do a summary here, but this tag has all the really important bits, and if you just read the blog from the beginning (currently only 10 pages) you’ll get everything. ANYWAY BRIEF TIMELINE:

  1. 2012- homestuck is at it’s peak, hussie kickstarts the “homestuck adventure game” and raises $2.5 million
  2. 2013- a backers only update is released on kickstarter, revealing that the game will be a brand new story and showing some early concept art of joey (then-unnamed)
  3. June 2014- another backers only update is released, showing some concept art including dammek (then unnamed) and the developer is revealed as the The Odd Gentlemen
  4. Oct 2014- Hussie releases a massive kickstarter update that:
    1. announces that they’re moving development in-house, with some really vague explanation why.
    2. finally names the game hiveswap and explains that it will center around a human girl named joey who switches places with a troll boy (still unnamed).
    3. announces plans for a second game to follow the troll boy.
    4. announces that the games will each have about 4 episodes.
    5. released a crapton of concept art, that among other things revealed joey fighting with her flashlight and the troll we now know to be xefros.
  5. Feb 2015- WP sets up 2 websites, a twitter, a facebook, and a tumblr, all of which they basically do nothing with. Also there’s another update revealing the timeline is the 90s on earth, and somewhere between the ancestors and the beta trolls on alternia; and Joey has a brother. We also get early concept art of ms. second-best-at-memes herself (then unnamed).
  6. March to June 2015- we get a slew of interviews and updates and a teaser trailer that reveal most of what we now know of the plot and the rest of the characters. Xefros, Jude, and Trizza are named officially, and Cridea’s, Fiamat’s and Dammek’s names are revealed via concept art of prongle.
  7. June 2015- igpd posts, and then quickly deletes, the infamous update about how TOG screwed everyone over.
  8. July - Aug 2015- a few more interviews and updates, nothing major
  9. Dec 2015- after months of silence, a kickstarter update finally comes out saying the game is shifting from 3D to 2D, and most of the NYC employees were let go. more really nice art is released, including a picture of teenage mom lalonde that has confused the fandom into thinking the alphas are in the game ever since.
  10. May 2016- Homestuck 2.0 is announced, then promptly forgotten about forever.
  11. June 2016- Cohen Edenfield, in a mostly unrelated interview that only like 100 people know exists, reveals that the second game is called Hauntswitch.
  12. Oct 2016- after almost a year of more or less radio silence, a bunch of things happen all at once. the first trailer is released, the january release date is announced, the website is completely revamped, and an artist reveals that dammek and xefros are moirails. Hussie completely forgets to actually put any of this on kickstarter. (also someone updated the website for like an hour a week before everything else before immediately taking it down, and it was hilarious)
  13. Dec 2016- Hiveswap goes on steam greenlight and is approved in a week, and the “Broom Temperature” video is released, in a brand new alternian alphabet. no one knows how to spell grubbles.
  14. January 26, 2017- hiveswap is delayed for “several weeks” for “bug testing”
  15. the fandom cries
  16. April 13, 2017- the second trailer is released, and WP vows to actually communicate with us. again.
  17. May - Present- Cohen Edenfield, our lord and savior; and Ash Paulsen, ACTUALLY FOLLOW THROUGH on that promise with weekly interviews with the development team.
  18. June 12, 2017- Frondly Warning was released. We still have no idea how to spell grubbels.

Tumblr can't just buy a couple Republicans for net neutrality. Every major social media platform is urging their participants to help because it's our duty. We are the people that use the internet in our everyday lives and we have a voice. They aren't idiots and it's our duty. They're fighting too, but it's not only their responsibility.

tumblr doesnt actually care

tumblr, the company, has absolutely no interest in keeping net neutrality a thing. they aren’t joining other tech companies to speak out and in general this situation makes me feel the same range of impotent frustration i feel when i see articles about how the average person can help combat climate change by setting the ac a little lower. this is a problem that exists way above our head and is motivated entirely by profit. it cant be solved by an internet petition and its importance wont be understood fully by the dinosaurs in congress who right now refuse to learn anything about computers.

I would like to say a word about the new season of Rtte.

Usually, I don’t tell what I feel on Tumblr but this is getting on my nerves since the release. I know I will not have many friends after but I don’t care, I’m not affect by insults on the web.

Anyway, here something I wanted to talk about first:

After the release of the first three season, all we were able to say was “more hiccstrid”, “more more more”. This season we got a lot of Hiccstrid, but like a looooooot more of Hiccstrid. And a few months ago, the producers said that they signed for two more seasons of Rtte.

Yesterday, I went on tumblr and I saw posts about complain. The people who are complaining, are complaining about they didn’t like the Hiccstrid, the kisses, the story, the characters and else. They said that the producers could do better for Hiccup and Astrid and I don’t know remember what else but ANYWAY, they don’t like how the show is going.

Guys, if you don’t like it then stop watching it. And seriously, they gave us all we wanted to have. I mean come on, for two months, we were getting the producers on their nerves because some fans wouldn’t stop asking them why they are not posting the date of the release and now we told them that they made a bad job?! Hey, they are doing everything they can for US. The show is a wonderful sigh for our eyes, animation like story. Our questions are getting answered, we getting what we hope for and each seasons is better than the previous.

These guys deserves some respect, they are the creators of the story of race to the Edge so as a fan, we must agree with what they decide to put in the show, like it or not. You can not like it, it’s your choice, everybody have a choice. But please, don’t say they could do better because they already trying to.

That was just something I needed to clear but now my thoughts on the new season:

As I said, we got a lot of Hiccstrid but that’s only in the three last episode. The others ones were incredible. Twintuition makes me laugh until my ribs hurts, Midnight Scrum was so intense with all these guys hunting Hiccup, Not Lout was so cool because we saw Snotlout having nightmares about getting bullied and I personally recognize myself in him.

Okay so I will finish on Hiccstrid. We got three kiss with a really passionate one for the first that make their relationship official. We saw the worry, the compassion, the dragon rider, the support in Astrid that we saw in httyd2 so that’s a proof that the show is following the movies. She is always the one getting hurt, that’s true but I think that’s normal and understandable cause she’s the one with Hiccup that have a true sense of leadership and she is a really stubborn girl and independent woman so she wants to do stuff for proving herself and to the others she is worth it like in Blindsided and in Astrid’s team. And that’s why she is my favorite character. For the next seasons, we are going to see them grew as a couple and that’s something I and the fans hoped so much to see cause we are getting the close Hiccstrid we have in the sequel movie.

The dragons: Toothless was so terribly cute and OH MY THOR, he acts EXACTLY the same as my cat (I should put a video for comparing those two). I love the way he putted his tail around Hiccup and Astrid when she laying on the floor in Blindsided, a true little family. I can only hope to see more moments with only him and Hiccup, but I’m not worry, we have to see how Hiccup came up with the “automatic” tail. Stormfly was also super cute and the way she protected Astrid is why I love the most, a true complicity, gods so amazing. The Triple Strike, one of my favorite dragon ever, we could saw his moves and so honking cool!!

And for ending this post, Heather and Dagur: I love Heather, she is so cool and the best friend I dream to have. I love relationship between siblings so when she finally bonded with Dagur, it made my heart race and I was so happy. The way they fighting with the riders is so awesome, I love that!!

So that’s it. Sorry if it’s a little messed up for an opinion post but I really wanted to explain what I felt about all I see on Tumblr and the show, and mainly make my self clear. Race to the Edge or the movies, it’s Httyd in general (and I will not talk about how they changed and saved my life for the good cause it’s personal). I will never thank Dreamworks enough for creating this story with Cressida.

It will always gonna take an important place in my heart (that’s why I’m getting tattooed the Night Fury logo soon) and whatever they will do for Dragons, I will always respect it, be a supportive fan, and be there for it.

I’m a Dragonite after all ✌🏼😉.

Stiles kinda likes the way his life has turned out, fighting the righteous fight alongside some pretty kickass individuals.

Will You Still Call Me Superman? by scxlias

Derek doesn’t know how exactly Stiles Stilinski can be an EMT.
Derek doesn’t quite know how to react to him.
But, even despite Stiles’ general lack of coordination and tendency to walk into things, Derek knows he can count on him in emergencies.
Well, Derek can’t count on him, but Superman can.

Everything started in June 2015, 8 months ago. Lauren (@squatchandlearn) added me on snapchat and we started talking everyday. Lauren lives in America and I live in Portugal. Even though the distance we fell in love with each other. And one month after talking to each other we started dating (July 22nd). It isn’t easy. Being in a long distance relationship is hard. You have to be really strong to make it happen. There were times that we were scared about losing each other but we kept fighting. After 5 months I went to America so we could stay together for the first time. I was there for 2 weeks. We spent Christmas and New Years together. It was the best days of my life. It was so amazing. I could finally touch my girlfriend. We could kiss, hug and hold hands for the first time. I can’t describe the feeling. It was absolutely perfect. We laughed, we smiled and we cried. Having to leave was the hardest thing I ever had to do. It didn’t felt right. I was leaving the girl that I love. It was so hard saying goodbye. It was really tough. I had a bad time for a while. I miss her a lot. I miss her eyes, her beautiful smile, her voice, her touch, her lips. I miss everything about her. I never cried so hard in my life. The first days were awful. But everything’s better now. I’m getting used to not having her with me. But I still miss her. I miss her so much. But when I look back it gives me strength to keep fighting for us. I won’t give up. We will see each in the summer. We have to wait 7 months. It’s going to be hard. But I know we will do it. I can’t wait to see your smile again. I love you so much Lauren. We can do this.

I have a challenge for black tumblr: on the September 21st Blackout Day, reblog/queue the photosets of more people than you ever have before.

Every single photoset needs the chance to gain notes. We won’t all get thousands upon thousands because that’s not possible but people shouldn’t feel left out. Use the tags correctly. Make sure you are looking at the “most recent” instead of top results while browsing the tag. If you see a photo or photoset with 50 notes or more, odds are it will do better than those with 10. Reblog every low note selfie you can. Talk to people, make friends. Tag the bloggers that have larger followings and have expressed that they are ok with it.

Stop fighting about it and let’s get a move on to make it better for ourselves. We know it’s a problem so let’s do something about it.

So recently, I’ve been seeing a lot of hate on Tumblr and Twitter. Previously, there has been a lot of hate from other fandoms against ARMYs and BTS. The ARMY fandom is not new to this drama of course. BTS and ARMYs have been putting up with a lot of hate since debut (or maybe even pre-debut to be honest). BTS has in fact received so much hate that Big Hit had to take legal action as of last year. We always pride ourselves on the fact that (most of us) don’t fight back anti-fans with hate, we either use facts or just simply report them for harsh comments against BTS. Rather than fighting antis, we try to use that energy to raise BTS higher up and have people beyond the ARMY fandom recognize their talents. However, recently there has been a lot of hate on ARMYs by other ARMYs on Tumblr. Often times this hate is unwarranted or based off of assumptions. A few of my friends (and a lot of ARMYs on Tumblr in general, including myself), are afraid to voice their opinions about anything because it always results in hate typically in the form of harsh anonymous messages. No matter how big or small your blog is, it’s important to remember that actual people run these blogs. It might seem like that one anonymous message is not a huge deal and that your words may not have an impact on the person you are sending it to, but believe me it will. Often times that one anonymous message starts greater attacks on that ARMY because people for some reason think that it’s okay to send such messages. Words hurt more than you might think… I’m not saying that ARMYs never mess up or never say problematic things, but I just hope that we can all be more careful when sending messages or even just reblogging posts with comments that might attack the original poster. It is one thing to kindly send an ask if the person actually did something wrong, but to attack another ARMY with harsh words? I don’t think we want our fandom to become one that spends all of our energy fighting one another rather than using that energy to give BTS the success and recognition they deserve.

a conversation with my inner SJW about: Atomic Blonde
  • SJW: people on tumblr said Atomic Blonde was queerbaiting and problematic so BE AWARE
  • me: sounds fake but ok
  • SJW: here we go this is the movie and Charlize Theron is the badass female protagonist. WHY does she have to wear sexy outfits??
  • me: because it's really cool.
  • SJW: But she's obviously sexualized for the male gaze!!11!
  • me: So is James Bond in tight as fuck suits that would never in a million years be comfortable to fight in. He's sexualized for the gay male gaze just as much as the female gaze. Maybe spies are just sexy.
  • me: Just normalise nudity already. Especially that of female breasts.
  • SJW: James McAvoy's character is a white straight male misogynist.
  • me: White male misogynist I will grant you, but after that interview where he said he meant to play the character gay, while watching the film I can tell that even though it wasn't in the dialogue, it was still in his mind and so I will read the character as gay.
  • SJW: But the filmmakers are homophobic for telling him no!
  • me: Maybe, but I doubt it. I think they didn't want a gay statement to become more important than the plot of the film, because as a purely representative film it would be competely out of place. So they left David Percival's relationship with James Gascoigne ambiguous. I disagree with them telling James McAvoy he couldn't do it, but I don't think this means they're "omg problematic".
  • me: Many people are. It's realistic. I like realism because it forces us to deal with real problems through fiction.
  • SJW: Lorraine Broughton's sex scene with Delphine is fIlMEd entirELY FOR THE MALE -
  • me: oh come on they're barely even undressed and the focus is on caresses and inbetween leg grabbing and neck grabbing and sensuality, all things wlw find attractive, rather than blatant tits and ass shots. If you're a wlw and you find this sexy, admit you found it sexy because it IS SEXY, and lesbian sex scenes are allowed to be sexy in their own right. Don't blame the "male gaze" because I'm not seeing it in this scene.
  • SJW: Delphine's death was SO BRUTAL I HAD A PANIC ATTACK
  • me: ok what are you doing watching an action movie set in 1980s Berlin I mean are you OK? Generally?
  • SJW: no but her death was the most violent thing in the whole film
  • me: did you actually watch the rest of the film?
  • me: what, because she wore a leotard? That's just her personal style. Other than that she went down hard and fighting dirty to save herself, Percival looked like a little bitch struggling to get the knife out of his back but he still seemed to even feel bad for killing Delphine, and no shot was particularly sexual. Are you talking about her crotch? How puritan are you? Beware, ladies, don't wear leotards in your private space just in case someone comes and murders you - your death COULD BE SEXUALIZED. Seriously...
  • SJW: She only died to further Lorraine's development!
  • me: I mean yeah she was bothered by it but I didn't see it further her development other than enjoying killing Percival more thoroughly than she would have anyway...
  • SJW: It was Bury Your Gays!! The lesbian always dies and it's not fair!
  • me: Is "the lesbian dies" the new "the dog dies"? Bit patronising isn't it? I mean surely Delphine was defined by more than her love for a woman. Anyway, the lover of the spy always dies. It is the rules. Same counts for violent deaths. Don't watch a spy movie if you don't like it.
  • Basically, SJW - fuck off.

The funniest thing to me about the low key hatred for trans woman here on the tumblr left is me with my own eyes having to see people poke at Chelsea Manning as an example of the “privileged trans woman” who supposedly has no problems when like…she was imprisoned for years, beaten, tortured, starved, kept in solitary confinement, all to try and fight US imperialism. But we can’t have the tr*nnies getting too excited about one of their own…
