The Ghost at The Waverly Hills Sanitarium, Kentucky.
Coughing up blood, over crowded, understaffed, bizarre unethical twisted
treatments, “Welcome to Waverly Hills Sanatorium” – a medical facility
that was once dedicated to treat patients suffering from Tuberculosis,
long before the modern cure was discovered. Without the antibiotics, the
hospital provided the only known cure at that time – fresh air and
sunshine, and thus the patients spent the majority of their time in the
solarium-like porch ways. There were many other unethical ways that were
used to treat patients which were downright dangerous and only 5%
patients survived the treatment. It is believed that as many as 8000
patient dead bodies were carelessly thrown down a chute and then taken
out of the building through an underground tunnel. This method of
disposing the bodies was kept confidential by doctor’s orders who wanted
patients to be unaware of the quantity of dead bodies. But with the
discovery of the antibiotic, that could successfully treat and cure
tuberculosis, the sanatorium was closed down. Many believe that the
spirits of the patients still roam about the hospital in search of
answers. The most famous being of a nurse named Mary Lee who
happen to contract the disease. But the story takes a horrific twist
when she was found hanging from a light apparatus in Room 502. Some
believe she took her life after she found out that she was was pregnant
with the child from one of the doctors and unmarried. Tragically her
body lay undiscovered for a long time. The picture above is of the
ghostly figure captured on camera, who is believed to be of Mary
Lee….forever roaming the corridors of the hospital groaning in pain.
The Haunted America Masterpost for the 4th of July 2016
I usually do this for St Patrick’s Day and Christmas so I thought I would give another country a master post since it is their big day and I will probably make an updated one next year. (I wasn’t sure if I should include the Native American and the native Inuits in here so you can find them hereand here)
So here is list of all things creepy and American.
I was feeling the Halloween spirit so I decided to compose a list of some of the creepier or more halloweeny past posts on this blog so everyone else can satisfy their needs for spooky things this time of year.
this place was so fucking amazing to visit. the waverly hills sanitarium in louisville, ky. i’ve never experienced anything like this in my entire life and it was just fucking incredible. we went last saturday, july 13th and spent from 8pm-8am sunday morning in here. we heard like random noises that sounded like gurneys being movied and foot steps and on one floor a ball rolled out and kitty swore she heard giggling when her and panda were at the spot where me and sam and phyll saw the ball roll out. and we went into room 502 and we didn’t see anything but we like felt like someone was there you could just feel this presence in the room with you and it gave me fucking goosebumps like crazy. its supposed to be the most haunted part of the entire place and you could seriously feel it when you walked into that room. and panda swears she got nauseous when she went into the room. and we walked through the death tunnel so its called and like we heard noises that sounded like footsteps and i was practically glued to sam the whole damn time and he kept squeezing me saying baby its okay i’m here. and i heard a dog bark at one point down this hallway and heard the dog running. and when me and sam and phyll went to the fourth floor we fucking saw the shadow people and lights coming from down the hall and we heard doors shutting the 4th floor was the scariest place there. justin and his wife got locked in one of the rooms and it freaked his wife out so badly that she almost passed out but he got the door open. and when kitty and panda went on that floor they both just felt like really cold on the inside and they didn’t stay long cause of how bad it made them feel. and panda got a picture of a woman she saw sitting in a chair. and just ugh it was honestly so fucking cool and so much fucking fun even though i kept getting scared shitless. sam just kept laughing when i did and holding me. i really hated the 4th floor though even though the shadow people were kinda cool in my opinion. and i want to spend the night in there again. i i was surprised i thought i’d be wanting to fall asleep at some point but honestly i was wired the whole damn night and i haven’t even been to sleep yet and just ughhhhhh that was so much fun. jeremy is bummed though because he didn’t see anything jameson saw like the shadow people and all but jeremy didnt and is pissed that he didn’t get some kind of paranormal thing XD but ughhhh that was just so. fucking. awesome!!!!!!!!!!!
