Look at how the other heroes smile at him, they are genuinely happy to meet him. When Superman saves him, he isn’t upset. He’s happy. He asked to be saved and he was
And it’s not the last time either. You see it here
he works well with the justice league members even though his interactions with them are rare and in between.
He’s literally never afraid to ask them for help
I mean, look at that. He made the bat signal, he was outright asking for help as publicly as he ever could.
and in “Fallen hero” when he thought Green Lantern really had become evil…
Just look at his face. He is shocked. He can’t believe one of his heroes would do this, he tried to figure out why, tried to come up with a reason to explain it, so it would make sense.
And the moment Sinestro, disguised as Green Lantern, hurt Gear. He knew it was true, and he’s horrified that the person he looked up to did this and he’s angry, angry that he didn’t see this.
Static knows when to fight
but he also knows when someone just needs a helping hand
and sure, he jokes around
but he also knows how important the work he does is
and he also knows what happens if he messes up
His family knows what it is he does and they all support him in whatever way they can.
and that’s why I love Static shock. Yes, they touched upon some serious issues
they didn’t dumb it down for the audience, or treat the issues with kiddie gloves, they addressed the issues and those were also the same episodes that they broke the fourth wall. Dyslexia, gun control, gang violence, racism. They didn’t pull their punches on this show.
They showed us a still very much grieving teenager who almost joins a gang in the first episode, who gets powers that he uses to protect other people without a moment of hesitation, not even thinking of getting revenge on his bullies. Even as a superhero, he still volunteers at the community center his dad runs.
Yes, Virgil makes mistakes, he’s still a kid after all, but he’s so genuinely kind and sincere that we can’t help but love him.
I don’t know if it actually is Static shock appreciation week officially, but it is for me
People in the Youtube comment section:
Do you actually think Lucas Steele should've won or is just because he's hot?
Me, not sure they actually watched the performance:
Lucas is literally dancing the jig, playing the violin and singing some tenor notes that my first-tenor boyfriend can't hit on most good days. He does it eight nights a week, works an amazing set that I can only imagine could easily trip up an actor if they aren't careful. Might I also mention that he's literally been in the cast since 2012 which is the literal beginning for the show? He is Anatole. Being hot is just a nice bonus to this triple threat that definitely should've received the Tony.
Saw this and I need to counter this so no one sees it and believes it.
I didn’t expect to like teen titans go. The original was my childhood and I adored it, so the weird chibi version didn’t appeal to me. But I saw that Tara Strong and the other voice actors said they like it so I wanted to give it a chance AND LET ME JUST TELL YOU
ROBIN is still kickbutt, but instead of the tough boy being seen as admirable it shows him with insecurities and delusions that come from blind self confidence. He’s absurdly competitive, even when it’s not physically possible for him to win, which was the same in the first show.
Also he’s friend zoned in this and I’m proud that they didn’t make Star like him. She’s got other crushes but mostly she’s on her own, being a strong independent woman.
AND SPEAKING OF STAR
Girly wannabe? Um she wanted to do each other’s hair and do girly bonding with RaeRae since the first show. But they let her have that girly side while also Being the one in the group who gets super hyped and kicks donkey at football. She can be multiple things, girly, tomboyish, independent, adorable, etc. So suck on that while I go to the next. (Also she represents any foreigners coming to a place where they struggle with the custom and it opens eyes to how some people might not get things that are normal to us. Through this she gives us a level of empathy and we can be more understanding to others. Again, suck on that. )
Has no fun? Raven? Are we talking about the my little pony/ beast boy addict? She’s freaking awesome. Calm and collected but also a total fangirl nerd and she has crushes but we all know her bae so let’s go to him.
Beast boy is nothing short of perfect. He’s a slob who likes pranks and raven and video games and he’s a vegetarian (represent, my baby). He’s a goofball who’s smitten and makes hilariously bad jokes and won’t eat anything he’s been (because, in a weird way, that is called caniballism, children. Don’t do that )
Cyborg is just as cool and smart, but they don’t focus on that in this one as much. We see his machines and inventions plenty but we also see him wishing to be normal (human), changing to be that then realizing he likes who he is(even if he can’t get in hot tubs)
ALSO THIS ISN’T ADDED SO I’LL PUT IT IN MYSELF
THIS SHOW DOES NOT BEAT AROUND THE BUSH THAT TERRA IS AN ABUSIVE MANIPULATIVE HOEBAG WHO GIVES ZERO PEBBLES ABOUT BEAST BOY. IT SHOWS HIM LEARNING HOW TO GET OVER AN UNHEALTHY RELATIONSHIP AND EMBRACE SOMEONE WHO TREATS HIM RIGHT
I love teen titans in every form I’ve seen them in. They are my babies and I won’t have them summed up so poorly when this show has a lot more to it if you give it a chance.
Now I feel like watching it so byeeee
After watching the good lars, Would you think like... Lars would be able to have a future in baking? Since his results aren't the greatest but Lars showed extreme interest in baking and thought of so many recipes to use for the Potluck.
I would like to point out that in the episode, both times Lars has produced something, it was well-received and deemed delicious and better-than-average.
In that regard, I wouldn’t really say his results weren’t great. Steven and Sadie loved it :)
Lars isn’t worried about the parts of him, like his skills, abilities, and talents. He’s worried about himself as a whole. He’s worried people will like his cake but not like him as a person. And the fear that showing more of who he really is (or as Steven says, what represents him), causes him to hide these skills, which makes it seem as though he’s not great at them.
To answer your question, I would say he does have a future in baking. And I do hope it’s brought up in the show again!
