watch the new series its awesome!!

thatoneguy157  asked:

For the new series your in, will it be locked behind the Youtube Red paywall? Or whatever its called. (Btw, you did awesome in it. Id get yt red just for it if its needed)

Nope, you can watch them for free on RocketJump’s channel as they air.

Just saw the new It Film.

Me as person who FUCKIN HATES CLOWNS with a passion was skeptical to go see it. No BS even Harley Quinn gives me the creeps, I’d still smash but she’s still creepy. But as a Horror fan I really enjoyed it, I’d say its easily better than the 90s Mini series though Tim Curry will always be great. Though I will say after watching Stranger Things it does feel like a movie version of that although you wouldnt have stranger things without books/movies like the original IT. The actor who played Pennywise was great and the CGI effects were awesome.

Also the chemistry between the kids was great to watch and I had fun. Though a few jump scares got me bad. I’d honestly give it a spill/double toasted rating of Full Price. Def worth the watch and the ending gets you hyped up.

Guys, we’ve been having a certain dilemma. As humans, you probably have heard of C.S.I. and all its series in different locations. Well, we can’t decide which show of the whole franchise we like the most.

I really like them all, but lately I re-watched the original CSI, and Gil Grissom is such a great main character. Also, showing a darker side of Las Vegas, beyond the lights and machines…

C.S.I. Miami is awesome! That Caine guy is cool and tough, and I want so much those sunglasses! I’d like to make… a spectacle. YEAAAAAH! I also like how some cases are moving and have happy endings…

I’m fond of C.S.I. New York, where the crew is practically a family, and the paralell investigations sometimes join into the same conclusive finale. Also, I really like how Danny and Lindsay become a couple… gives me hope of finding love.

All are policial TV shows, and have great main characters, but which one to choose?

My Top Ten Horror and Genre Films of 2013!

This year I got to see so many great films at festivals all over the world, online and at our local theatres! I love weird horror and sci-fi genre films more than anything so Ive compiled a list of what I think are the top 10 most effectively scary, disturbing, suspenseful and/or spooky films I got to see this year!

Some are remakes, some are borderline documentary and others are directorial firsts but all I considered to be quite simply, awesome.

In no particular order…

EVIL DEAD - Fede Alvarez

I was very excited to see this remake and it did not disappoint. This film is a tour de force of awesome practical effects and although not everyone loved the storyline I thought it was a great re-imagining of the original.

V/H/S 2 - Simon Barrett, Jason Eisener, Gareth Evans, Gregg Hale, Eduardo Sanchez, Timo Tjahjanto, Adam Wingard.

What I love about the V/H/S films is the sampling of great horror material you get from so many awesome directors. Both the sequel and the original have made me go out and watch other feature films from nearly all the directors involved. Putting their talent together in an anthology series like V/H/S was something refreshing I think the genre needed and has opened the door for new filmmakers much like The ABC’s of Death. V/H/S 2 had its ups and downs, but delivered on the scares and originality of its content. If you haven’t already you need to see this film!

As I’m writing this I’m sitting in front of the special features menu on The Conjuring Blu ray. I saw this film twice in theatres and after my first viewing immediately went home and researched the Perron family for hours on end. I loved this film. Ed and Lorraine Warren will always hold a special place in my heart and to see part of their story told so well on screen was awesome. The Conjuring, along with most of Wan’s films, gets my vote for best titles of the year!

MANIAC - Franck Khalfoun

I have been following of Elijah Woods foray into horror since the emergence of Spectrevision and am loving everything that he has done so far! Some may think the first person camera style of the Maniac remake is a gimmick but I think it does nothing but heighten the experience of getting a view into this characters totally deranged life. I liked this film a lot more than I thought I would and the gore effects were especially gruesome!

YOU’RE NEXT - Adam Wingard

I don’t even know where to begin with this one. You’re Next totally blew me away and erased any negativity I ever felt towards the home invasion genre. It was brutal, funny, sick, suspenseful and the soundtrack had me on the edge of my seat. One second you felt like you were watching Home Alone and the next you were transported to some awesome 80’s slasher flick brought into 2013. I can’t say enough good things about this film. Adam Wingard is wonderful and I can’t wait to see The Guest!

BYZANTIUM - Neil Jordan

I had been waiting to see this film ever since I saw Antiviral at last year’s Atlantic Film Festival. I love Caleb Landry Jones and saw that he was in this one as well. With Byzantium Neil Jordan has brought another beautifully crafted vampire film to the screen. Interview With the Vampire is a favourite of mine and Ive seen more vampire films than I can count but this one certainly stands out as being something much more than typical. The tone and cinematography in the film was perfectly grey and moody and the female leads gave great performances. If you like vampires even a little please check out this film!

TOAD ROAD - Jason Banker

I was fortunate enough to be able to see Toad Road at a local genre film festival called Outlier in November. I didn’t know a lot about the film, only that the director had found a group of teens to spend time with and document and that footage was integrated into the film. Well, that and I can never resist a film about hell or the devil. The urban legend of the film really interested me and the more you watch the more you feel like you’re being pulled down along with the characters through toad road and this different state of mind. This one was definitely one of the weirder films I saw this year but also one of the best!

A film about Italian horror sound studio recordings?! Where do I sign up, was my first thought when I heard about this film. I was so excited for Berberian Sound Studio and I was so glad it didn’t disappoint. It had a touch of weirdness to it that made it extra memorable for me and of course, the sound in the film was killer. This one easily made it into my top 10 and if you haven’t been to see it yet you need to!

STOKER - Chan-wook Park

This was one of my highly anticipated releases of 2013. An american film from Chan-wook Park with a creepy storyline is my cup of tea. I found this film subtly eerie in ways that I don’t see a lot in the genre and loved the colouring and feel of the film. This was one of the few wide release genre films I really enjoyed this year and to see original content in a world of remakes was refreshing!

I can say without a shadow of a doubt that this was my favourite film of 2013. I had the opportunity to see this film at The Atlantic Film Festival this September and after the movie was over my friends thought I might even cry I was so visibly moved. I haven’t felt this way about a film in a long time and to know that there are filmmakers out there with the ambition and guts to bring something so strange and fearless to the screen is comforting. In beautiful black and white A Field in England was mystical, gritty, poetic and wonderfully psychedelic. Please watch this film.

All in all it was a great year for the genre, and 2014 already has me looking forward to a lot of new content from some favourite directors and some new ones as well! Honourable mentions that nearly made the top 10 this year are HERE COMES THE DEVIL, the shirt film, DECOPODA SHOCK, DOOMSDAYS, INSIDIOUS CHAPTER 2, THE LORDS OF SALEM, MAMA, and of course HANSEL AND GRETEL WITCH HUNTERS. I hope anyone who takes the time to actually read this will see at least one film this year that might be a little on the strange side! <3 <3 <3

Gravity Falls Journal 3 - download all pages

So, when I started this project one of the main objectives was to re-create hi-resolution version of all the pages to share with the internet since I wasn’t able to find any while creating my replica and I bet theres a couple crazy people out there that also want to make their own journals.

Once I finished all the canon pages I realized there were many awesome creatures and artifacts that never show up on the book within the show so I re-watched the series another 4 times and created new pages for every episode that was missing in the book.

Here I leave you a ZIP file on my download section where you can download them all. There are landscape pages Folio size in 300dpi.

Download here!

Download here!

As always It´s all for free, use them as you like, if you put a link back to this page, that´d be really nice, if not, its ok too. Enjoy!

And I will tell everyone yet again, if you have not watched this series, please do, it’s amazing.

My Thoughts On Ultra Nova.

Aphmau’s new series looks really promising, and I thoroughly enjoyed it! The story looks awesome, and the models are really cool! I dont think its something i would watch immediatley once i get the notification, but i will get around to it.

heres a list of things i love - aka ‘its recommendation time’

i love a shit ton of stuff and id also love you to love it. so here you go, have some of my favourite pieces of media

western cartoons

bojack horseman: my favourite “adult” show/cartoon.
a comedy/drama centered around a jerk character, except he actually has to deal with the consequences of his actions, and is never excused for his wrongdoings. has probably the most accurate portrayals of mental illnesses related to depression & addiction ive seen in fiction.
the most important character of the show after bojack is a smart feminist vietnamese woman. overall the show has good diversity in races & orientations
(one of the main characters is a half latino asexual man!)
37 x 25min - in progress, at least 13 more episodes to air

over the garden wall: two brothers get lost into a mysterious place called the unknown. very clever and funny, kinda dark. its fairly short so youll finish it fast.
10 x 10min - finished

gravity falls: the unholy lovechild of the x files & twin peaks, only a little more child friendly. twins mabel & dipper have to stay at their grand uncles place, a tourist trap in the conspiracy filled town of gravity falls oregon. mystery shenanigans ensue. extremely smart, funny and very well constructed.
season 1 is great, season 2 is near perfect.
41.5 x 20min - finished

steven universe: my favourite “kid” cartoon. a show that talks about issues even adults wont talk about, but for kids. a young boy named steven is half human, half gem, an alien species that once was on earth. he is raised by his mothers gem friends garnet amethyst and pearl. space shenanigans ensue.
will teach you and your kids important life lessons. this cartoon is an example of slow world building done right. watch it. it has lesbians.
100+ x 10min - in progress, at least 2 more seasons to air

rick and morty: back to the future meets the quintessence of shitposting. an adult cartoon about an alcoholic old man and his grandson going on weird adventures. hilarious 90% of the time, very dark for the rest.
21 x 20min - in progress, at least 14 more episodes to air

wakfu: an epic adventure in a fantasy setting. a very funny but sometimes dark show about a boy trying to discover his origins accompanied by his friends. its french and hilarious and the animation gets better and better. do yourself a favour and watch it in french with subtitles.
52 x 20min + 1 x 20min, 4 x 45min (special episodes) - in progress, at least 13 more episodes to air

avatar - the last airbender/legend of korra: the latter is the sequel of the former. amazing animation & story, literally all the characters are POC. was the best work of fiction to ever do a redemption story this good.
atla has kids as main characters and a plot that follows a more “end of the world” type than its sequel. the sequel is more mature and political and has a bisexual brown woman as the main character, and she kicks ass.
please, by all that is holy, watch them both. in order.
atla: 60 x 24min / atlok: 52 x 24min - both finished.

for a long list of all the anime i actually recommend click here

tw for all of these: there will be blood. thousands of gallons of blood.

evangelion: boy in an apocalyptic future is constantly in an existential crisis. aliens called angels try to destroy whats left of earth and children have to get into giant mechas to fight them off. very dark and gritty but in a good way. also very smart.
26 x 20min + 1 x 87 min (the end of evangelion) - finished, but some remake movies are still in the making.

full metal alchemist - brotherhood: 2 young alchemists do the one thing they werent supposed to do and spend the entire story fixing it. a brilliantly crafted action story that knows when to get political. the characters are all great and the animation is insanely good. note that the 2003 anime is also really good, despite telling a very different story.
64 x 20min - finished

kill la kill: young women fight eachother while being half naked and the fate of the world is at stake. a brilliant and hilarious anime that criticises and deconstructs fanservice in a great way. the characters are very attaching and the story surprisingly unpredictable.
24 x 20min + 1 x 20min (bonus episode) - finished

live action

parks and recreation: woman tries to make the world a better place by building a park. a show where basically every character is lovable. will make you happy just because the characters are having a good time. also absolutely hilarious. 1st season is okay, seasons after are works of art.
125 x 22min (dont let yourself be intimidated its worth it) - finished

brooklyn nine-nine: comedic cop show. parks & recs cool cousin. also hilarious with great characters. very diverse cast & characters as well. will probably make you care really hard for fictional people. smart & funny.
64 x 21min - in progress, 4th season to air

master of none: aziz ansari succeeds in making an amazing slice of life series without unnecessary drama. a feels good series that brilliantly tackles issues such as racism in the acting industry, sexism, and food. the conversations feel extremely real and the humor is great because it feels genuine and not forced because there are no punchlines. please watch it
10 x 25min - in progress

marvel - daredevil (series): blind man beats up bad guys in a corrupted city. awesome characters, great writing, beautiful colours. all actors are on point. watch it.
26 x 45min - in progress

marvel - jessica jones: alcoholic woman fights against the most repulsive human trashbag there ever was and tries to save new york. great action show with a feminist narrative and great characters. also great colours. you should really watch it also. tw for rape (its never depicted but its part of a huge narrative arc for the main character. handled with v good care.)
13 x 45min - in progress, 2nd season to air

hannibal (series): cannibal serial killer takes interest in fbi profiler, fucks up everything. a brilliant re-telling of the original hannibal lecter books, starts way before hannibal gets imprisoned. most visually appealing show ive ever watched. the writing is excellent and the story ends in a masterful way. queer people have great surviving skills. obviously, tw for very gory stuff.
39 x 40min - finished(?)

broadchurch: a child is murdered in a small town where everyone knows everyone else. as the crime is being investigated, masks start to drop and everyone becomes a suspect. a really intense yet moving series. you wont see the ending coming but itll make perfect sense. the show isnt finished yet but whats aired already is more than satisfying.
16 x 45 minutes -  in progress, 3rd season to air

fargo (series): watch one psychopath completely salvage everyones lives wherever he goes. also known as ‘character development, the series’. insanely clever, dark and funny. its an anthology series so the second season has a different story (and i havent watched it yet) but it looks as amazing as the first one. tw for gory stuff.
20 x 50 minutes - in progress, 3rd season to air

the broken circle breakdown: a beautiful movie about love and loss. visuals, writing and music are all on point. please watch it.
110 min

his dark materials: the unholy child of an essay on religion & a paradise lost fanfiction disguised as a children’s book. a story about growing up and everything that comes with it. brilliantly written and very interesting.
3 big books - finished

artemis fowl: genius con artist child young enough to believe in fairies, old enough to want to steal their gold. justly nicknamed ’die hard but with fairies’. the main characters starts off as a huge asshole and slowly turns into a decent person thanks to his friends. extremely funny and enjoyable to read, but there are sad moments.
8 books that get bigger and bigger - finished

homestuck: a young man stands in his bedroom. little does he know, he’s about to get into the craziest adventure of all time.
kids get into a game, epic shenanigans ensue.
starts off with 4 main characters, ends up with more than 25.
the writing is insanely good and funny but the story takes time to get serious so be patient. the art also looks kinda shitty at first, but then skyrockets into the unfathomable heights of godhood. will teach you words and insults you never knew existed in the first place. the music is also amazing.
itll take you between about 2 weeks & 2 months, but by all means, read it.
its very long but its worth it.
about 800 000 words (most of which are purely dialog) and 4 hours of animation - finished, but an epilogue will be posted in the future.

Hi, how do you think Matt and Foggy's friendship is going to evolve in s3? BTW I loved Foggy's presence of mind this season! How does the reconciliation play out in comics?. A completely different question, "is devil in cell block D" hinted for S3?

Hi! To answer your second question first, we don’t think we’ll be getting “Devil in Cell Block D” next season. It feels a bit too soon for that type of story arc to work in the show, and the references seem more like fun easter eggs than an actual lead-in to anything. But maybe someday! We’d kill to see some version of that in live action.

   Now let’s talk about Foggy!

Super happy so many of you are starting to watch an awesome anime like Hajime No Ippo!

For those wondering, yes, you DO need to watch the series chronologically, but unfortunately, the 1st and 2nd series is NOT available on Crunchy Roll, only the 3rd series, RISING is. Its best NOT to start watching from there.

The series goes like this:

Hajime No Ippo: The Fighting (76 Episodes 2000-2002)

Hajime No Ippo: Champion Road (TV Movie 2003)

Hajime No Ippo: Mashiba vs. Kimura (OVA 2003)

Hajime No Ippo: New Challenger (26 episodes 2009)

Hajime No Ippo Rising (25 episodes 2013)

Happy Dempsey Rolling!

How should we celebrate the one-year anniversary of Night Mind? By exhibiting a video under the mission statement of showing the world awesome quality in undiscovered media that really, really deserves a spotlight.

(And it’s also funny that on the anniversary of the first Marble Hornets Explained episode, I have a new series that’s very ‘Marble Hornets’ in its appearance… but does so much better than being a mimic.)

I’m very proud to present, The West Records.

I'm an introvert and have anxiety and depression so its hard for me to be alone as I get lost in my brain and my anxiety consumes me and I can't be with other people because I feel numb talking to them, I don't really take anything in. Im so lost

The trick is to KEEP YOUR MIND BUSY! Read a realllllyyyyyy gooooood book to distract yourself. Indulge in a good series on Netflix so you can be busy for  while watching one ep after another. Exercise, learn new recipes, watch awesome youtube channels. Do anything you like. By keeping yourself busy you to evade thinking too much.

I only ever read Hannibal books and watched the series when I learnt Richard will be in 3rd season, and I kinda feel like that fan whom people make fun of, the one that 'came only because a thing became popular'.

Oh no, not at all! It’s awesome that you’re getting into Hannibal, and you and other new fans are totally welcome in the fandom :’) Whether you like the show, the books, or the movies, it’s all good - each adaptation has its own mood and aesthetic, and appeals in different ways.

Plus there’s absolutely nothing wrong with getting into a show because it has an actor you like in it - knowing that there is someone whose work you enjoy, it makes sense that you’d check out their other projects. There are no bad reasons for being a fan; if you enjoyed the source material and you want to join in discussions about it, then you’re a fully valid part of the fandom. And if anyone tries to tell you otherwise - eat them ;’)

10 anime that impacted my life

Rules: Don’t take too long to think about it. Ten anime you’ve seen that will always stick with you. List the first ten you can recall in no more than 10 minutes. Tag 10 friends.

Tagged by Brigid, thanks girl! I’ve opted to go for series only (so not including movies like Ghibli) and I’ll write a little bit about each one because why the hell not?

1) Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood
This was the first anime I ever watched properly and I’m SO glad. The quality is just top notch - an amazing heartbreaking but clever story, balanced with gold humour, with family ties and loyalty at its forefront. It still remains my favourite to this very day, simply because of its emotional resonance.

2) Ouran High School Host Club
I feared I would hate this when it was rec’d to me by Laura but I ended up falling in love with everyone 5 minutes in. Absolutely hilarious and manages to take the mick out of itself and the entire genre whilst having some fantastic messages underneath the silliness. It’s extremely close to my heart. <3

3) Shingeki No Kyojin
I thought the concept and style were very cool - it has fantastic character design (such good facial diversity hell yeah!) and a soundtrack that could give most blockbuster movies a run for their money.

4) Free! Iwatobi Swim Club
I started watching this for a joke thinking it would be awful but instead found myself on the slippery spiral into sport anime hell and became completely obsessed. It’s beautifully animated and the story is a lot less shallow than I first expected. Themes about growing up/friendship/finding your own path in life always tug my heartstrings.

5) Sakamichi No Apollon
This is a really beautiful and profound series. Again, friendship/growing up/forging bonds are its core themes and the cast of characters is so wonderful.

6) Kuroko No Basuke
I..I don’t really have anything to say about this one except it’s utterly ridiculous and takes sport anime to a whole new level of bonkers, but it’s hilariously enjoyable all the same. I ended up getting fiercely attached to everyone without even realizing, plus the soundtrack’s awesome.

7) Tsuritama
Short, sweet, colourful, and about friendship. It’s such an endearing series, and always reminds me of summer.

8) Cowboy Bebop
Gotta throw in a classic here somewhere! I love Watanabe’s work and I’m so weak for misfits that make a family with each other. Well worth its amazing reputation as one of the greatest anime of all time.

9) Yowamushi Pedal
All I’ll say is, if you are not watching this, you are seriously missing out on a lot. Everyone is a gem. Everything is hilarious. Pedal is just amazing. It will change your life for the better. It will make you cry for all kinds of reasons.

10) Death Note
Well, it’s another classic so how could I not? I swear, everyone and their dog has watched this even if they aren’t really into anime at all. I marathoned the whole thing over a space of 3 days, oops.

I’m gonna tag Lara, Ami, Laura, Angela, Grisselle, Daniel, Viria, Janet, Lillian and Michaele! Don’t feel you need to do this if you don’t want to though ofc! :)

That sounds great! I’m glad you could get out of depression! That can be very hard, so I feel extremely honored that I played a part in that. Thank you so much.

TG Anime new season, I won't judge the story because its the first episode and maybe the development of an "Aogiri kaneki" could be awesome... But for real, I simply can't forgive not watching the bones scene. ITS THE BEST FREAKING SCENE OF THE SERIES OMG WHY WHY, IM CRYING :(

I believe that an ‘Aogiri Kaneki’ route could be awesome too!

And while I wish they included the 103 bones scene (because it was definitely one of the best parts of the Aogiri arc), I think they might have decided not to include it because it would have be really awkward for Kaneki to join Aogiri after Kaneki ‘half-kills’ Ayato.

Also, while it’s possible to pull off such a scene in manga, doing it in anime might be more difficult since Kaneki recites the names of 103 bones (Kaneki’s VA will have a hard time doing that).

Oh well… at least we got the ‘Shut up and listen, I’m still talking’ scene animated.
